Homemade BV poison OCC, currently stuck at Awakener. Can someone experienced help me with optimalization?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 01:31 AM PST

    Hello dear Exiles,

first time I made a build, it is kinda working (better than most of coppied builds I ever played). But currently I feel stuck.

I cleaned all 4 watchstone conquerors without problem (only Baran ripped my ass, bcs I'm bad at dodging) and then Awakener spawned. At awakener level 4, I get to after second cloudshit phase, but eventualy I died. Mostly bcs I had no idea how to deal with clouds and mostly it took ages to get his HP down with my dmg.

So, I made some changes, I'm comfortly running t16 maps, even bosses and metamorphs, but is there any way how to increase my over all damage? Items, skill changes, anything. I was thinking that adding HoG again would helped, but I have no idea how to deal with mana reservation.

    Thanks for any ideas!

PS: this build is supercheap and has over all amazing damage, until endgame come, if someone want to try it

I need help improving my build/ CoC Detonate Dead Assassin

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 04:06 AM PST

So I hit a roadblock when I started doing t14 maps, I realized I didn't do enough damage to do them even when using vaal DD so I had to downgrade down to t12s and 13s. Here's my POB pastebin: https://pastebin.com/kNiMU9dn

I have an exquisite blade CoC ready to be crafted but don't have the currency to do so, so I need some other improvements I can do for a 5ex budget, probably 8 if I sell some stuff.

Looking to consistently farm Sirus 8 - need a build

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 04:01 AM PST

Title essentially says it all. Will give an ingame reward to the person who suggests whichever build I choose!

I've farmed Uber elder with various builds in prior leagues so the build doesn't necessarily need to be brainless/a summoner.

35-40ex budget. I generally lean more towards tanky-ish builds. Currently have 91 glad and 91 trickster that I can transition from, but happy to start from scratch if something stands out.

    Thanks a lot!

SSFMSC - Help with Thicket bow 6L build (not poison)

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 03:08 AM PST

I have managed this league in SSFMSC to drop three, yes three 6linked thicket bows. I currently have a 91 Scourge arrow Poison Pathfinder but I am a bit bored or the poison play style and would like an idea for a SSF thicket bow build. I also have a 6 link Belly of the Beast to help but would like some ideas. Ideally I would like some form of freeze of shock build. Happy to craft the bow using fossils if needed.

    Please help!

Looking for feedback: Cobra poison trickster

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 02:27 AM PST

So far i have always been following build guides, and as this is my second league i thought it was time to dive into making my own build. In this build i have been aiming for poison damage as main damage dealer.

Im aiming at a decent clearspeed, but also capable of taking down bosses. As i am more of the casual kind of player, i guess its reasonable to assume i can make around 10ex over time, but i'll try to avoid this build to grab those insane expensive stuff.

PoB link https://pastebin.com/Gcz67pg6 Items in PoB are more placeholders then the actual to-go items, though they should give a rough idea.

Optimize aura-bot guardian for spell caster friends

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 02:19 AM PST

Hello Exiles, first post here please do forgive me for asking some noobish questions.

I've been following this build for a while to become an aura-bot support for my friends I play with. However I want to optimize it / tweak it to my own needs and liking.

The 3 people I play with are both spell casters. 2 identical Raise spectre / slave driver Necro's and one Arc Elementalist.

The above build I've been playing utilizes some added damage to physical attack aura's that AFAIK, are quite worthless to us.

I'm looking for some help to optimize it to our specific scenario as I don't have allot of knowledge of game mechanics (Happy to learn however)

    This is me: https://pastebin.com/sAgqLwsw / https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Zjoffie/characters?characterName=Auraboiii

Some specific questions I have are:

    • Most variations incorporate Smite. Does the added lightning damage aura of smite apply to spells or just regular (physical?) attacks?
    • My build says to include 4 of the 5 following damage auras, but AFAIK only Anger, Wrath and Zealotry do something for our setup? Hatred, Wrath, Anger, Zealotry, Malevolence
    • Any point in me trying to free something up for a curse? Most passives I have say they boost non-curse auras so I'm thinking it wont do so much for me.
    • I've read about applying charges (endurance / frenzy / +something else?) to the party, that might work?
    • Simply becoming more tanky would work for me as well, I feel quite bulky but there's always that "wtf just happened?" one-shots happening every now and then. Mostly chaos based damage. (Am currently chaos capped with a flask up)
    • I know I still need my animate guardian.. I'm just a little afraid that he will die since I still die randomly as well once every 5 maps or so. We're running tier 14 maps BTW.

Any help at all would be much appreciated.

Does Mother's Embrace make all summons use all your flasks once?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 01:00 AM PST

By all at once, I mean as if it were like the user pressing flask 12345 once each simultaneously.

    1. Do minions get the entirety of the flasks' effect?
    2. Does this also apply to auto-casted summon(s)? So if one instance of auto-cast creates 2 minions, is one consumption of flask used?

    Spectral throw builds.

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 12:55 AM PST

Spectral throw builds seem kind of tough to pull off nowadays. I don't want to play another 5k life raider that's fun to clear with but dies too often. How do you guys think a nice mix between survivability and not feeling shit damage could take place given buffs to endgame bosses?

I probably have like a 12 ex budget if I consider how much I could farm for it.

    https://pastebin.com/3nUWWiF3

I still have 20ish ex to throw at it, very fun build but my boss damage feels inconsistent at times and I think its due to crit.

I picked up a purity reservation ring instead of 2x dmg because I wanted to replace blood and sand with Hatred but Idk if i Should, it helps a lot with the survivability

I run through T16s with no problem, haven't fought any guardians above ilevel 82 just yet but its all awaken level 8

I'm aware mathil is working on a very similar character and their aren't to many on PoE Ninja to grab min/max ideas from so I was hoping one of you might be able to toss some ideas my way I havent thought of

Also - I picked Raider bc Veil offers pretttty good survivability+dmg and with onslaught 100% effect I'm pretty fuckin fast

    Builds for New players

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 02:15 PM PST

Hello everyone. What kind of build would you recommend for new players based on: Fast clearing Good against bosses (High damage) Doesn't die easily 1 or 2 attack skills at most

I was using Necromancer and it fit about 100% of these criteria but I got bored. Then I switched to Occultist + Death's Oath, which is pretty neat, except at bosses or stronger monsters who don't die instantly.

Any help is welcome. Happy New Year.

Is it possible to fix my build with a budget of 2.5 ex &/or transition to cyclone... or should I just level something else.

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 10:44 AM PST

This is my first time playing league, and starting to hit red maps, I can clear fine, but some bosses are starting to take longer, mostly Conquerors, they usually take several deaths for me to kill them because without my flasks I don't have the damage to kill them.

I want to transition to cyclone and something viable and see if I can turn this around or straight up just level something else.

Deadeye with Ricochet + Powerful Precision equipped with Fury Valve using Lightning Strike?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 04:55 PM PST

PREFACE: I'm no longer interested in ANY source of pierce.

I'd forgotten that it completely negates my goal of more and more chaning.

I'm obsessed with melee attacks that chain lightning ZAPPING ⚡ everyone in sight, so these concepts appeal to me on an almost sexual level. Help me exploit my kink for some much needed dopamine!

EDIT/UPDATE: Looks like I need to AVOID pierce and propagate MORE CHAIN. I was thinking about pierce being necessary for clear but I'm so stupid that I forgot the whole point of this is to CHAIN as much as possible, for visual effect as well as clearing. Fork/split are still very much on the table.

Going to try the amulet soon, I can almost equip it. Good to know that barrage support doesn't work with melee attacks because I actually hate how much it slows down action speed. Will continue to update here with discoveries for any other melee chain lightning fetishists.

By the way, I'm probably going to go with raider first. I'm a little too scared to go deadeye without currency, as I feel raider will lend itself more to the build's damage when just starting up. Once I have (hopefully) stupid amounts to waste on a lightning strike ranger, we can go deadeye (or maybe something else, to make the build more content viable and less just to exploit more chain lightning stuff). Hopefully by then I've theorycrafted some more interesting interactions and solidified how this build is actually going to work, instead of just pipe-dreaming a bunch of random proj stuff. If I do go deadeye, I'll go gathering winds instead of Powerful Precision. This should still be fantastic for the projectile side of lightning strike.

Calling Pro Theory Crafter, I need your help

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 12:25 AM PST

Calling Pro Theory Crafter, I need your help

Build Lists starting to drift away from having "Beginner Friendly" options

Non-Meta please, League Starter, Low budget (10 chaos to 0.5 exalt total), something "Tried & True", Mechanically Simple

The Marauder build list is especially bad for this, considering that its the "default" beginner class due to both classes "beginner perceived" theme ("Tank fighter") & access to lots of "simple to get" armour/dps/life mechanics on passive tree.

NEW PLAYERS NEEDING TO SELF CAST 5+ SKILLS OR ACTIVELY WATCH 4+ "STACKS" (COMBINED WITH 1ST LOOK AT PASSIVE TREE), TENDS TO MAKE NEW PLAYERS "GIVE UP". A SINGLE "ATTACK" WITH A TOTEM + GOLEM AND PASSIVE TRIGGERS/AURAS & AN EASY MOVE SKILL, IS IMHO "BEGINNER FRIENDLY"

I suggest at least 2 "classic melee" build options that are SUPER SIMPLE, build:

    - Mostly Pure strength Support gems that have "few item or skill restrictions"

    - Dual wield for bonuses, with Skills that dont mind 1h weapons (& no option for 2x 5+ link builds)

    - Life/Armour/Leech based to basically FACE TANK most common content

    - Simple ascendancy like Juggernaut or Berserker

    - Tell them about important act changes, res's and how/why to cap them

Mains like: "Cleave", "Ground Slam", "Molten Strike" & maybe "Glacial hammer"

Totem: Ancestoral types, easy, powerful and fits "character" well

Movement: Leap slam, Easy, Simple and Effective

Auras: Pride, Blood & Sand, Flesh & Stone, and/or a "Banner", VERY PASSIVE

Safety/QOL: Cast When Damage taken & "Steelskin"/"Molten Shell"/"Immortal Call", plus a "Stone Golem"

War Cry: Enduring Cry, "[b]most complex" active skill[/b][span color="#400040"][/span], for the charges & healing

Trying to avoid MUST HAVE unique items, Try to keep the progressive learning during leveling going [/span]

Nice easy build: "the skill" > here are our links in order of use

Basic explanation of typical play style

Reminders of "white item" upgrade levels & basic leveling crafting

A detailed path through the skill tree (level by level list?)

Avoid anything thats "confusing"/"out of order".. this is for a day 1 player

    A simple equipment explanation:

    - "These" belt, amulet & ring types, in order, and why

    - You wear "this" gear class & use "this" weapon class & why

    - List major gear/weapon upgrades of the "white" vendor unlocked by level type

    - This gem and/or jewel is received here, this quest, use it like this

    - Typical enchantments to look for on "this" gear in this build

A SINGLE NON-UNIQUE FLASK SETUP, WITH WANTED ENCHANTMENT LIST, AND TELLING THEM "HOW/WHY" THAT FLASK.

USABLE ON A 5-LINK CHEST WITH 2X 3-LINK 1H WEAPONS (NO NEEDED 6 LINK OR DUAL 5 LINKS ETC)

A small "cheat sheet" for common vendor stuff this build might need

    ALL RED SOCKETS/SKILLS?

    So thats my suggestion

PS: Main still being available from right after tutorial would be best

IF SOMEONE DOES THIS I SUGGEST THE BUILD NAME:

    "BIG RED, BEGINNERS BRO"

Edits: Like 100 edits for errors/grammer & ease of reading

I'm no pro with melee (i play a witch mostly)

Here is my thought on it:

Main Skill: 5-link in Chest Pure Red Sockets

Cleave + Ruthless + Melee Physical Damage + Chance to bleed + Fortify (on 6 link, + Brutality?)

Here is a POB tree to level 31, just at "fortify" s available

geared in level 31 equip (Note chest is 5 linked & filled)

    http://poeurl.com/cHt1

Best build i can get with ~35ex?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 04:48 PM PST

This probably gets asked tons of times but I need a new build.

I have been playing summoners for 3 leagues now and this league I have gotten a bit lucky, I have around 30 ex right now and I want to try something different. I want to play a really fast moving tanky build that can kill everything without issues. I think I can do that with 30 ex. Can someone suggest me a build like that? Most builds I find are like league starters that are aimed at going into red maps. I want to spend all my currency to make a giga build if you know what I mean.

    Best bow build high budget

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 08:01 PM PST

I managed to get lucky on chancing a few headhunters and want to spend a stupid amount of currency on a bow build what should I build. I played a bit of ice shot loved the clear but couldn't seem to get the single target up something like a 90-100ex budget.

I considered rebuilding a ice shot build. Using the usual Hyrri's Ire / Demise dex stacking not sure where to go from there isn't many guides on ideas like this.

    Edit.

The main goals I'm trying to achieve are :

Decent clear (doesn't have to be as fast as ice shot with several chain's)

    Strong boss killing potential.

Ele Spectal Throw claw Raider - Increased Crit Dmg or Nightblade support?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 07:53 PM PST

    Pretty much as title states.

Running an elemental damage based spectral throw raider with a claw, slightly tweaked version of this build - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1839087

    PoB for my character: https://pastebin.com/2n3Hxdb3

But because I'm still scrubby and don't know all the skills in the gem, I had no idea that the Nightblade support gem exists and...it seems like it would be a whole lot better for me than crit dmg. Coming here because PoBuilding doesn't seem to track evasive any way that I can find, so I can't really see the full effect of the gem.

Napkin math seems like I'm trading around 20% crit multiplier (118% to 99%), but gaining around 3% chance to crit (which I won't say no to, I feel like mine is still a touch low), plus a the bonus dodge/spell dodge that would put me around 94% dodge and 90% spell dodge (initially), plus the move speed which doesn't hurt.

Is it worth recoloring my Loreweave to swap this out? I definitely could use a bit more defense. Also, any other general tips? I swap hypothermia for GMP for bosses, slower projectiles is more damage but I was dying way too often and needed the safety at range for now. Still get one shot pretty often, but that's on me more often than not since this is the first dodge based character I've ever played.
