    ED/Contagion versus toxic rain/CA

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 06:48 PM PDT

As title says, I'm torn between the two at this point. Given that all skills a literally unchanged from the patch notes, I was curious if any of you guys have opinions on league start? I'm thinking ED might be easier to start with and I can always transition into TR later if needed since the trees are similar. Anyone have any input?

Blade Vortex Elementalist as league starter?

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 02:45 AM PDT

Hey guys, I would like to league start with something that has satisfying explosions here and there. I saw some old videos about triple herald BV elementalist chaining herald explosions - it's badass. However I also read that there were some nerfs after 3.7 and build doesn't work as good as previously.

Is that true? Did anyone try it in previous league? I'm torn between heralds / golems + I'm worried about survivability :(

Looking for help on Kinetic Bolt starter

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 10:30 PM PDT

Hey everyone, working on a Kinetic Bolt starter.

    https://pastebin.com/CHzTb7eu

Synergistic ideas I was thinking of working with are:

    1. stacking lots of flat lightning (via sockets)
    2. scaling with spell damage and crit multi
    3. occultist bloom explosions for clear
    4. power charges from wand clusters+occultist to boost wands good base crit further
    5. using spellslinger to auto cast curses combined with high mana reserves for arcane cloak to boost flat lightning further

    Good new notables being added:

    1. Supercharge - Lightning Damage with Non-Critical Strikes is Lucky
    2. Gladiator's Fortitude - Attack Skills deal 25% increased Damage while holding a Shield
      5% increased maximum Life
    3. Gladiatorial Combat - 2% increased Attack Damage per 75 Armour or Evasion Rating on Shield
+1% to Critical Strike Multiplier per 10 Maximum Energy Shield on Shield
    4. Opportunistic Fusilade - 50% increased Critical Strike Chance with Wands 35% increased Damage with Wands if you've dealt a Critical Strike Recently
    5. Sap Psyche - 20% increased Spell Damage 30% increased Mana Regeneration Rate Regenerate 1% of Energy Shield per second if you've Cursed an Enemy Recently

    Questions I have:

    1. Planning on going MoM for high Ehp. I'm definitely concerned with the builds defenses, I went life for ease of gearing, but going CI might be smarter?
    2. It's totally possible I've missed some really strong nodes I should be grabbing. Is prodigal perfection worth it?
    3. Easy way to get pierce?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Slayer or champ for cyclone in 3.10?

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 01:41 AM PDT

Been skipping out on cyclone for a while and going to try it this league start, slayer has better clear but champ has better end game boss dps correct? Haven't played melee in a while and wondering pros/cons of both. Ty.

    Targeting mechanics for triggered spells

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 03:43 AM PDT

First of all, I suppose this should work the same for CoC, CwC, CwDT and Spellslinging. If I'm wrong, please let me know! :)

If a triggered spell is targetable (projectiles, most AoEs, etc.), how is the target chosen?

How does that work if the triggered spell has special interactions with your other spells (as Ice Nova and Frostbolt)?

Can you somehow affect the targetting of triggered spells?

    Torn between 3 straters

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 03:41 AM PDT

So before the notes had released I had those 3 builds on my mind to start the league with: Lighting ball mines sab, Glacial cascade totem hie and Animate sword ascendent.

After reading the patch notes it seems like all those mentioned got a change, the totem change is pretty straight forward, however I don't know if the changed to mines and especially the animate sword skills affected them that much.

Could someone please elaborate on the changes?

    Toxic Rain Mine or Selfcast?

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 03:39 AM PDT

I am leaning toward starting toxic rain. I have seen some guides that run with mines and some run selfcast. In addition to this a couple of the miner builds go with trickster instead of saboteur? Can anyone weigh in on which one feels better as a league starter.. and if miner which ascendancy? Deciding on a league start is always so hard!

    Cyclone Impale Champion

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 10:05 PM PDT

Wondering if this guide is good? https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2775438/page/1

I've played a Slayer Impale Cycloner in Legion and it was good and I heard Champion is the best for Impale. Wondering what your thoughts are on this build.

post-nerf BV Chieftain STR stack discussion

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 02:57 AM PDT

Was going to league start as life bv chief with transition into CI str stack.

Build is basically untouched apart from Shaper's touch nerf. How do you feel about it? Obiously we will have a lot less ES but did anyone do the calculations?

In general, do you think build will be alive (for HC), anybody was about to go for it?

Best cyclone build for league start?

So, Anime Weapon is going to be ridiculously OP, right?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 11:36 PM PDT

Absolutely monster buffs to damage, and it got the physical spell tag, which means it's usable with Cold Iron Point. That means an easy level 29 gem with Necro. 20% chance to impale for minions on the new node, so a total of 80% with the support + dread banner. And with dual CIP + Spiritual Aid, your Bladefall or EK will actually do a decent chunk of damage for extra clear. Like, this is definitely going to be absurd, right?

    META! ...pls?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 10:53 PM PDT

Terrible player. Just want to breeze through and deal with stress by killing stuff.

Other than "play another game", I could use some suggestions for broken meta builds that's easy to play.

Sadly I didn't have enough time to play during the league when Zombie-calypse was at its best. But I do usually get to level 80+ with typical meta builds like Arc Totems & FB AW. Never killed a normal Atziri before. RF Juggy sounds like my cup of tea, except I'm too weak sauce to level it.

Is there any hope for me?

Never played either of these and I want to try them but idk how they would fare.

    CoC Icenova Assassin

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 09:58 PM PDT

Hello Guys. I've mostly played melee builds such as cyclone impale, wild strike and lacerate. Leveling and gear improvement felt quite natural.

This season I want to try out CoC ice nova/frost bolt assassin with cospris.

I wanted to hear if anyone is doing the same? How do you transition in the start? From self cast 2x 4link until you get cospris are there any other content/guides for a smooth transition?

    Thanks in advance

    League start build question

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 11:40 PM PDT

I'm torn between SA pathfinder and LL ball lightning miner. Any idea which one would be easier to progress into maps and down all content faster? I know the SA clear isnt even a competition but I'm wondering if I'll struggle on bosses at all.

Deciding a starter. Phys wander with spellslinger (old poets pen style) or poision assasin.

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 03:23 AM PDT

So i'm deciding between those two builds for league starter. I know that the wander will be more expensive but prob way more fun to play. So i'm looking for pros/cons and build suggestions especialy with new cluster jewels.

Trying to decide between RF or Impale Cyclone for my League starter. Can anyone who has done either of these before chime in on how they scale into end game and how they feel as a league starter?

Can anyone recommend a good Cyclone Impale Champ build?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 04:45 PM PDT

I saw tytykiller's bladestorm gladiator 3:42 kitava time, I know for a fact I will get nowhere near that close, but I know I really enjoy playing cyclone impale champ but i'm not quite sure how to go about league start. Should I just copy tyty's bladestorm glad guide and then re-spec into champ cyclone later or is there a good way to get to kitava fast with cyclone champ?

League starting as Vortex+Cold Snap Occultist?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 11:22 PM PDT

Has anyone done this before, and is it a reasonable idea to do so? I'm in love with Occultist pops and the Vortex/Vaal Cold Snap playstyle and have done it a few times before, but every time I've done it I had bought enough gear to immediately go CI around level 70 and transition into LL by around level 80.

Would leaguestarting as a Cold DoT Occultist be reasonable, or should I just start as BV Elementalist and transition when I have enough currency?

    Cool, Summoners aren't dead.

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 02:40 AM PDT

Skeleton Mages, Soulwrest Phantasms, and Golems were left untouched. These all had viable builds that nobody played since phys Skeles/Zombies were too good not to run. The death of Spirit Offering kinda sucks, but we can just go MoM or ES and play a fair build.

Now the question is, which one to run?

Power siphon + Fenumus toxins + wandslinger build?

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 02:30 AM PDT

    Hey all,

I was thinking about a build with Power Siphon, the reworked wandslinger node and Fenumus toxins. But i am not sure how to make it work.

    What wand(s)? Obliteration? Void battery?

    Ascendancy? Occultist? Pathfinder? Assasin?

With spellslinger? If so, what spell? Maybe a curse?

    Any feedback/help would be appreciated

    Scaling two elements ice nova?

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 02:22 AM PDT

Hey guys. Even though ive like 1500 hours in poe, my knowledge in build making is pretty shallow. I wanted to ask- is it possible to make a decent build that could clear the game by playing self cast ice nova with cold to fire support? Or is it simply a bad idea to try and play with two elements? Im not looking to go 100% fire, i wana play 50/50. Tnx for any input in this matter
