Best build to invest all my currency in and push to 100 at league start ?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2020 03:15 AM PDT

    Hello !

I only make on character a build because I despise leveling another. I'd like something that can clear all content, map decently fast (at least as much as an arc miner) and is at least good at bossing.

What I imagined was a storm brand trickster since I believe it's good at league starting and can be pushed quite high with eternity shroud / shaped CotB / shaped HH. I was just worried about its bossing capability.

Any idea on another build or this one ?

Blade fall impale animate weapon champion?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2020 01:59 AM PDT

    Can it be done?

Don't have the tree to hand but with double cold point and a skinnof the loyal I get 109k dps per animate weapon.

My worry is whether blade fall will even proc impale stacks.

    3.10 Almost-Permanent Damage Immunity Build

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 03:30 PM PDT

GGG certainly tried hard to kill damage immunity in 3.10, between the Shaper's Presence nerf (33% to 20%), Temporal Chains self-curse nerf (40% reduced to 50% less), and Soul Catcher nerf (25% reduced vaal soul cost to 0), but here's the latest build concept to reach near-immortality.

Minimalist Pathfinder tree - Only went for nodes I can currently access and are desired for the build

    Items desired/required:

    • Soul Ripper x4 - All need to have 0% quality.

    • Soulthirst - Preferably one with max-roll reduced flask duration.

    • Veil of the Night - We want no more than 0% resistances. You can try delving into negative resistance values to require less physical damage conversion.

    • Crafted weapon(s) - To get 40% reduced vaal soul cost

    • Blood of Corruption

    • Lightning Coil - 30% physical converted to lightning

    • Watcher's Eye - Looking for 20% physical taken as any element

    • Vaal Timeless Jewel - Focus on getting skill effect duration

    • One or more cluster jewels

    How it works:

Nature's Boon provides 3 charges per 3 seconds to all flasks. Soul Ripper with Southirst lasts 2.8 seconds if you take no flask duration increases elsewhere. Nature's Boon is affected by increased flask charges gained, resulting in 1 more flask charge per 3 seconds per ~33% charges gained stat.

There is 55% on the tree (75% if you want to make your life harder). You can go a Maraketh Timeless Jewel for maybe 10% per notable. You can get Fasting cluster jewels for 20% per jewel. With 100% flask charges gained, 4 soul rippers need 9 seconds to regenerate enough charges to refill Gluttony of Elements. With 133%, 3 soul rippers can do that over the same period (20 per).

Since Soul Ripper cannot generate flask charges while active, the 2.8 seconds they're active needs to be added to the minimum time needed to refill Gluttony. This means Gluttony needs to last 9 + ~3 seconds to get enough charges to refill itself once it ends.

You'll need at least 140% skill effect duration to make Gluttony last long enough. There's 90% readily available on the tree, and there are numerous alternative sources to get that last 50% (Malevolence for 20%, Elder boots for 15%, Vaal Timeless Jewel for roughly 75% if lucky, Cluster Jewel's Wicked Pall for 20% or Circling Oblivion for 15%). Every 60% skill effect duration above 140% allows Nature's Boon to proc again while immune, potentially reducing the number of Soul Rippers you need to go infinite.

You're immune to chaos damage through CI. You're immune to elemental damage through Gluttony of Elements. You're immune to physical damage because the percentage of physical damage taken as an element is being multiplied by enough to cause Gluttony to heal more than the physical damage taken (50% converted at 0% resistances).

    The drawbacks:

    • Partial Immortality: You cannot use Soul Ripper while Gluttony of Elements is active. This means that there's always a brief period between Gluttony dropping and you desperately chugging rippers to get enough souls for the next Gluttony cast while at 1 HP. If you use your Soul Rippers too early, Gluttony of Elements will block the soul gain and you'll die. May want to consider evasion, dodge, or block via staff.

    • Potentially hard to accomplish: I do not currently know how many charges are needed to make the new Soul Ripper activate. I also do not know if the +/- charges will be affected by flask effect. It may take some fiddling to make this work as desired.

    • Damage source has not been considered at all: This build is demanding quite a few slots and I don't know how many points will be consumed to reach skill effect and charge gain needs. I also don't know what would work well with the build so far.

Friend going impale cyclone, what should I play?

    No CoC frostbolt/nova best Ascendancy

    Posted: 12 Mar 2020 04:12 AM PDT

So after much deliberation I've chosen to league start with a self cast frostbolt ice nova character. I've seen guides for Heirophant, Occultist and Assasin and won't have a chance to check them over in pob to compare. Just wondering what would be the pro's and con's of each one? And if there was an objective 'best' one to choose?

    [Help] Decision between 2 builds

    Posted: 12 Mar 2020 04:04 AM PDT

    Laaadies and gentlemen....thread no.124525

I am stuck between: Reave/Flurry Champion from "Play Like Jay" and Arc Miner Saboteur from (forgive me if I spell his name wrong) "Navandis".

Both builds are great. Both can clear trash and kill bosses. Their dmg output is high enough and - as they guys said: without lacking defenses.

So I looked into the builds and yes, they truly have some defense in it.

    About me:

I played Enki´s Arc Witch and Esoros Lacerate Gladiator. I liked them both very much. At the end I went for Lacerate.

Reason: the min-max dmg was more consistant. Jumping in and smashing stuff was nice.

So why I am now between these builds?

Well...Arc...I like this spell. Miners are (still) strong in clearing trash and bosses. So the combination of Arc and sth strong...

I tested it and I do not really mind the playsyle of Mines. I guess the only thing bothering me will be the stutterstepping.

Reave/Flurry just looked a bit like Lacerate - just on steroids. An AoE close to 180° to the front and melting bosses (ofc endgear in videos...)

my goals: Mapping and a bit delving (to get a break of maps)

Im not a speedrunner or a pro. I guess it will take me 7-8hrs of getting through campaign.

It will be my first leaguestart. I startet PoE 6-7 weeks ago maybe.

I am interested in both builds. But I really do not know where there really shine. They are shows as allrounders without bigger "flaws" or downsides.

CoC Bladefall + Spellslinger Blade Blast?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2020 03:47 AM PDT

There's nothing stopping the same attack from triggering both Cast on Crit and Spellslinger, is there? With the Spellslinger cooldown around triple that of CoC, it should be possible to generate blades with CoC Bladefall to detonate with Spellslinger Blade Blast, thus having two effectively synergizing damage links.

In addition, I was thinking of going poison in order to scale chaos damage and use Obliteration for clear. Does this sound viable as a starter? Am I trying to do too many things at once?

Where are the Kinetic Bolt/Spellslinger builds?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2020 02:57 AM PDT

Just looking at feeling and fantasy of it, I feel like Kinetic Bolt is one of the coolest new skills in recent memory.

For the last two hours I've been failing to find a decent build for basically anything that uses Kinetic Bolt and Spellslinger, so please feel welcome to post anything close to viable in the comments!

I'd also love to know why theorycrafters aren't eager to come up with Kinetic Bolt builds. Is it about lack of general wand support in the skill tree? Or just the unknown factor of scaling?

League starter Arc traps vs mines (vs selfcast)

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 08:54 PM PDT

I really want arc to be my leaguestarter. I've played an arc trapper a while ago but due to the recent surge in mine builds in Metamorph, I'm curious about the differences in playstyle and build options. Also I think I will go saboteur but I would love some sugestions.

    Thanks

Skill Gem's info are out, will kinetic bolt + spellsinger elementalist be possible for league start?

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 11:55 PM PDT

I really want to league start as either an animate weapon summoner, or something related to kinetic bolt (I am a masochist I know ty). As far as I ve seen, elementalist seems to be the better option if you plan on using kinetic bolt. Any suggestions?

    Runebind Ignite?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2020 04:51 AM PDT

From what I saw, Runebind can compete with Divine Ire in Ignite Damage which is huge, considering on average, you should need a lot less investment into castspeed to get a runebind off.

I've drafted a quick PoB (not all gear implemented, mostly about the tree) to see what one could do.

    https://pastebin.com/zhve0yDR

It uses Divine Ire as a placeholder for Runebind since the damage is very very similar.

I chose Inquisitor over Trickster, mostly because the pathing makes up for some things Trickster gets, and Inquisitor has very high regen which is great for something like Ignite, which normally has issues recovering life. I've left a few points open for cluster jewels, since there are a few I definitely wanna grab (faster ignites, lucky lightning damage).

Does the tree look solid enough?

LF bow build as alt hero

    Posted: 12 Mar 2020 04:48 AM PDT

Hello, this season I would like to play two builds, first one Cyclone Impale Champion and then I would like to try my first bow build.

Could anybody recommend me good build focused on bows with good bossing and mapping? It does not need to be league started but something funny to play. I would also appreciate build with deeper guide and not only POB ( I still feel as not that experienced player).

    Traps or mines?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2020 04:44 AM PDT

    Hello Exiles!

So I had to take a break from PoE (I haven't played since incursion), but now it looks like I can get back to the game. But I have a problem.

Back in Incursion I played arc trapper, and loved it a lot. I saw that mines are the go to skill atm, if you want to play trapper/miner. My only problem is, I didnt really like the mine-detonate playstyle back then, so I swaped to traps. Are traps totally useless now and I must go mines, or they are still good for leagustart and can get to high tier maps? I'm planning on mostly thrash farming, not bossing.

    Thanks for the help!

Do you think leveling with Ele hit, with the node Wandslinger, will be ok?

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 10:07 AM PDT

Thinking about leveling wand, like an idiot, and I was wondering what you thought about Ele hit for it.

It scales with levels, so being able to use spell damage (via the Wandslinger node) to scale this base dmg the gem gives early on could be good enough to get through the story in a decent amount of time?

Any thoughts you have would help, even if you think it's gonna be terrible ^^.

    Casual needs help to start

    Posted: 12 Mar 2020 01:38 AM PDT

    Hey all,

I am a long term casual POE player, as my time is really limited, I never had a chance to achieve a lot in this awesome game (reaching lvl 93 and killing normal Atziri are my personal milestones).

This season I want to go step further, awaking the atlas or something alike. I know for most of you this is a task for the first couple of days of a league. For me it is huge :)

So to reach something like this, I found some criteria that fits to me. I need a Build that:

    • is easy start with (not a "get the helm enchant or forget it type of a build" or "level till 60 with some other skill")
    • is not that expensive (No time to farm much) I would set a limit of 3-4 EX to farm T16 if possible without being killed a lot.
    • is sorta mobile (I have problems with telegraphed attacks from time to time)
    • is kinda forgiving, I has not to be a face tank but being able to take a hit or two is nice (I have little kinds, I play when they are sleeping, but i am still not 100% focused)
    • does not need to play flask piano
    • Bonus: Delve past 200 or so.

For this task I am looked into following build types:

    • Lightning arrow sounds fun. But it also sounds kinda binary: Full HP or Dead
    • HoAg Guardian. I think it would carry me to my goals, but I have no idea how expensive it will become this league, and Minion Type of a build is not my absolute favourite
    • Impale facebreaker cyclone champion. This is a build that I want to try. But from what I read, it could become really expensive this Season thanks to melee=impale=champ, esp items like circle of guilt with right stats sound expensive.
    • Arc Trapper: (I do not like the throw/detonate play style of mines) but they look squishy or expensive... or both

So can someone help me to point out, If I am wrong with some of my assumptions (expensive facebreaker champ, squishy trapper)? The main point I am not sure in, what will become expensive due to the coming meta. Some seasoned vets could give me a hint.

    Thanks a lot.
