Potentially unpopular opinion: I wish delirium does not go core.

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 12:30 AM PDT

I tried to like the league. I really did. I leveled 3 chars into 90s. Did 40/40 challenges without buying any. And I honestly hate the league mechanics. All 3 of the main ways to interact with league bother me.

    1. Delirium mirror is broken in half of maps. There is no splinter consistency. No matter what I do I often feel cheated despite doing everything right in a map. I die way too much rushing. I feel I have to rush all the time, which is exhausting.

    2. Permanently delirium-ed maps. These are waaaaay too rippy and monsters are too tanky and take ages to clear. 30 mins for a map? Seriously? Even 20% t14s feel slow.

    3. Simulacrum. Very small zones. Awkward layouts. Silly wait through 17 waves of trash. 30 mins per run is way too long. Boss with two swords is a bit silly imo. Chaos, chaos, chaos, which is hard to enjoy in long run. Either you out dps everything 10x or There is no point running.

Other general issues: - can't see shit. Fog makes it even worse. - one shots. - on death effects. - so many slowdown mechanics. I simply hate the new debuffs slowing me down randomly. Debuffs which can't be realistically countered are pure cancer. - died more than any league I recall. I hope you are proud. Great work. - monsters spawn with delay so builds which depend on aoe chain effect feel even worse in delirium as you have 2 enemies spawn with delay and you need to choose, stop to kill them or ignore and go. Feels very bad to half clear maps like this. Minions and brands deal with it but active skills feel shit. - balance for streamers. I am unable to build a character myself which is not 100% meta and feel great. Would need 400% more dps. Even the two meta builds I did feel just ok not as OP as they should.

I wish content was more easy-going and there was less friction in speed and monster dps/health variety. 100% delirium maps could be this ultimate bullshit like delve 1k is but in normal game delirium just sucks.

Sorry for the rant. I hope delirium goes away. Downvote me to hell if you want. I just wish the game to feel less frustrating than it is now.

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 06:35 AM PDT

No wonder the game is so laggy when it has to spawn 100 items/sec while clearing.

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 06:31 PM PDT

Stash sorting/inventory management is the biggest thing keeping me from really enjoying this game.

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 03:13 AM PDT

I swear, i spend probably at least 30% of my game time organizing my inventory and organizing my stash tabs. The other day i watched a clip from empyrian (timestamp: 9:40) where he spent two hours sorting his stash after running a bunch of simulacrums.

Having some basic sorting features in our stash including to auto stack to respective tabs would go a LONG way in reducing this game's clutter.

    Thanks for reading my post.

Please disable monster can not die mob/totems in simulacrum, or better yet, the entire game.

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 04:58 PM PDT

Seriously GGG, please. The game can barely run as it is during simulacrum, why do you still have these CPU killer in there? It either die immediately and not mattering, or it cause such massive lag that it kill my character AND my computer. There's never anything in between. what does it add to the experience? what challenge does it poses aside from making the game unplayable and therefore unfun?

    Also, fuck divine shrine.

Surprise delirium welcome party in T1 Pier map boss arena

I was trying to catch up on Jun's mission and did some low tier maps for giggles, T1 Pier, rushed into the arena while it's still in delirium, then following the boss into the second room, as soon as the screen loaded, my character instantly died to this. They were waiting to jump me...

Farming a Headhunter? 4000 chaos made - meticulous data tracking (UPDATE 1)

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 07:04 AM PDT

    TL;DR/Summary (of Data )

Progress (Profits) - 4000+ chaos made, 37 maps cleared thus far

    • 37 burials farmed, of 139 total that I bought
    • 4145 chaos, 25.9 exalt made so far

1 doctor (7 maps in - getting one so early is an outlier but can be expected in ~40 maps), 2 exalts. Started making money from initial investment after 14 maps.

While this run is extremely lucky (doctor just 7 maps in), just dropping (1 doctor) + (simulacrum splinters) would have recouped my investment of 21.25 exalts.

744 chaos profit so far, leaving me 102 T14 Burials chambers to do for effectively no cost and just pure profit.

Breakdown of profit (- doctors as they vastly skew results)

    • Simulacrum Splinters - 41.23% of profits
    • Burial chambers dropped - 8.33% of profits
    • Tropical Islands - 6.69% of profits
    • Exalt drops - 23.79% of profits
    • Other drops - 22.08%

The other drops include highly liquid shaper/elder maps which can be sold fast, high value currency like divines and other highly liquid items (can be sold very fast)

Initial investment: Around 21 exalts, 24.5 chaos to run 1 map

    • 16.9 exalts for 164 maps burial chambers T14 bought

(approximately 16.5 chaos per map buying in bulk)

    • 139 doable after rolling

    How they were rolled:

    1. scour for magic/rare to make normal
    2. chisel for quality
    3. alch for rare
    4. vaal for corrupt, 22 maps bricked to higher tiers/other maps

Notable modifiers from rolling maps: 5 reflect maps (can do with correct awakened sextant mod), 2 cannot leech life/mana (harder to do for some builds), 8 maps cannot regen

    Running maps also involves:

    1. Awakened sextants (x4 for every 3 maps, rounds to
    2. Putting beyond on maps (5 chaos per map)
    3. Putting atziri sacrifice fragments for the 5% increase quantity
    4. Running whatever missions I have lying around (mostly Alva otherwise Einhar/Jun)

I also have awakening level 8 on the atlas. For maximum juice you can also run scarabs (look at FAQ below), and run master prophecies if you have run out of master to do.

    • 21.25 exalts required to run 139 maps in total

This includes the currency needed for rolling /running maps - raw amounts can be found in the data above.

    FAQ / General thoughts

    • Why no scarabs?

I used most of mine up farming Tropical Islands (sometimes Lair) for Simulacrum Splinter farming, and I couldn't be bothered to buy them (would have taken lots of trades because no one seems to stock them in bulk for affordable prices that I could find)

    • Can you really justify the investment? Isn't your run just super lucky..?

The thing is I had 139 maps to do, T14, pretty juiced (lots of increased monsters with rolling), so I could count on at least 1 doctor drop. Even without the doctor drop I have made 8.3 exalts in currency in 37 maps (8.3 / 37 = 0.224 exalts per map), and so extrapolating forwards this is 31.18 exalts (0.224 exalts per map x 139 maps). So I would have made the investment back even without any doctor drops. I still have over 100 maps to farm so can hopefully look for a couple more doctor drops optimistically!

    • What maps does your currency profit account for (and not account for)?

The profit accounts for maps I intend to run in the future (more Burials/Tropical Islands/Lairs) so these have value for me. There have been tons of other T14-16 maps which I haven't taken into account as I don't intend to sell/trade them.

    • Why are your simulacrum splinters so varied? Can I aim to get more?

Initially my farming method for Burial chambers was less than optimal. As I did more runs I started to learn more some valuable tips that you can replicate with some practice to get more splinters. Obviously the best method, if your build allows it is just to kill every single monster on the map with the delirium fog still up, this will guarantee the highest number of splinters. Although a lot of builds (mine included) might have trouble getting this done, therefore if you want to maximise your simulacrum splinters per map then you can adapt your clearing style (warning: you might have to backtrack to earlier zones if you employ this too heavily). I would like to preface this by saying that your clearing speed will vary with your build to adapt accordingly:

    1. The 3rd zone (with the entrance to the boss zone named "burial chambers") has the highest monster density compared to the other zones. Ideally you want to get to this zone with the delirium fog as fast as possible and clear this zone as well as you can.
    2. Ideally you should do (1) and also clear the boss in the boss zone - as this tends to give me the most overall splinters

On my good runs I was able to get over 40 splinters on the map consistently, my highest being 61. This is with a slow anti-meta molten strike Jugg, so I can expect this number to be much much higher with builds focused more on clearing.

    • I don't have 21 exalts to afford this! Can I start with less maps?

I don't want to claim to know any optimal ways of making currency/farming a headhunter. I just wanted to document my profits from the maps I was running and share it with the community.

    ___________________________________

*IMO DISCLAIMER\* In my opinion - this is just my opinion and take this with a grain of salt:

    ___________________________________

    1. I wouldn't recommend doing this until you have a build that can comfortably clear high red tier maps without dying.
    2. Your character doesn't need any more essential currency investment to get it going
    3. You have a good pool of currency you don't know what to use for

This is because spending 25 chaos per map for might not seem profitable with a small sample size. You might get lucky and drop a doctor in the first run, or your whole run might have no doctor/big drops. If you just take a look at my first 5 runs, I actually lost 47.5 chaos overall. So if you can't afford a big enough map pool to reap the rewards, and maybe even get lucky with some big drops I really wouldn't recommend this!

    • So how did you make 21 exalts! I want to try this

There are many ways to make currency in Path of Exile. I don't really want to get into what the "BEST" method is, because in my opinion this really depends on what type of game-play you enjoy. Generally you will find that asking how players make their currency can be quite an unanswered question in the community. The simple fact of the matter is, most players aren't willing to share their currency making tactics because then it would dilute their own method. For example earlier this league I made a huge amount of currency just selling cluster jewels, some specific bases/rolls can go for 100+ chaos easily, although if everyone was doing it then it wouldn't have been such a profitable method. Therefore the best advice I can give new players is to learn the mechanics of the game and make their own methods over time.

That being said there are well known methods that work consistently that can be used to get a lot of currency. I would really recommend watching some videos from the link above first. This video was extremely useful initially for me when learning the basics.

For more experienced players, I would recommend watching players like Daykun who has done extremely meticulous documentation of currency making methods on YouTube.

    • Your build?

    Sigh..

Thanks a lot if you read this far! Good luck exiles and may the doctors be with you!

EDIT 1: 25.9 exalt profit so far -> 25.9 exalt made so far
