New Scammethod: Change Item on FINISHED Trade

    Posted: 04 Jul 2020 11:07 AM PDT

    Hello,

not crying about being scammed but crying about something new.

Normally scam is to put in all the currency, "accidently" decline the trade and put in the same amount of fields of currency but one or more stacks have less currency.

I just got a trade for an unnatural instinct for 6.5EX and the dude put in the correct amount of currency (I tripple checked) and we both accept and in that moment I hear a CLACK as if someone put a currency item into trade WHILE the window closes and é voila: I sit on 1.5EX.

I have no idea HOW he did that, if that is a new security leak or anything but take care! I sadly have no friggn idea on how to evade that thing and never have seen it before.

Harvest Highlights the Weakness in the Current Mod Tag System & Why We Need Ingame Tag Info

    Posted: 03 Jul 2020 06:45 PM PDT

I believe we need in game information on mod tags, be it through alt item info or an information page listing mods and tags.

It's likely that some of the tagging also needs cleaning up due to inconsistencies and examples of mod tags not making sense.

PoEDB has managed to carry the burden well enough through Fossil crafting but Harvest really highlights some of the shortcomings of the current mod tagging system.

    Example A: Unobvious tagging.

You go to remove strength with "remove non-attack modifier" from an axe that seemingly only has attack modifiers. It removes Impale effect.

PoEDB Lists impale effect as physical with attack listed in blue text (which I've been told is for metamodding). I think most people would assume Impale is an attack mod. This example would be solved with alt-item-text mod tags.

Example B: Inconsistent & Confusing Tagging

    What is a physical modifier?

    Bleed? Nope

    How about Physical Damage? Nope

Some like Bleed, fair enough maybe, though I do think it's confusing. The cullingstrike/physical damage not being physical seems like an inconsistency.

I think when this tagging system was only behind the scenes and we couldn't interact with it directly it wasn't a problem. But more and more mod tags are a player-facing system and will definitely need some attention.

An option to enable mod tags in the hold-alt-text for items would help a lot. Info page in game with a full list would be even better. It'll also likely need some cleaning up for inconsistencies and logic.

Freaking loving the Harvest crafting aside from this, harvested 30 gardens yesterday and had a blast with something like 5 augments and a dozen remove/adds. Never have I been more enthused to invent reasons to craft items. A few changes to the mod tagging and communication would make all the difference in avoiding horrible feelsbad moments like I had yesterday removing impale from my axe.

    Grand Sanctum Archer

Can we get a GGG Statement on why Harvest Crafting ignores several core archetypes?

    Posted: 04 Jul 2020 02:44 AM PDT

Specifically, seed crafting is incredibly powerful, yet I perceive 3 entire archetypes that have been completely left behind in the scope of what Harvest Seeds cover.

    1. Attribute stacking

    2. Mana stacking

    3. Minions

For some odd reason, GGG made harvest seeds cover everything except these three core archetypes.

Especially considering the fact that Harvest league is following the league where the Mana archetype got a lot of support via Archmage, and Harvest league introduced some nerfs to the Archmage mana stacking approach, it seems extremely odd that this was capstoned by completely missing having any mana targeting seed recipes.

Same goes for stat stacking, there are no attribute seed crafts to be found, and minions.

GGG, why did three extremely popular archetypes get completely tossed out for the entire league's mechanic? Everything else got covered, it seems honestly kind of weird that a very sizable portion of the playerbase got entirely alienated for a whole league's core mechanic.

I expect a lot of players are quite salty over the fact their favorite builds top tier gear is now going to require several hundred times more effort to craft, while other builds that can utilize the harvest mechanic can pump out what used to be mirror tier gear with very little effort.

We're seeing a tonne of posts here showing some absolutely stellar crafted gear for many build arcchetypes, but I expect we wont be seeing a lot of mana stacking/MoM gear, Minion wands, or Dex stacker items getting shown off as much as usual, unless the items have intersections (IE the dex stacker cold bows are viable)

What Harvest brought to an average player like me

    Posted: 04 Jul 2020 07:53 AM PDT

I just wanted to share that the Harvest league and its crafting mechanic have brought me a very nice feeling of accomplishment in terms of gearing my character, and my guess is that this feeling is shared by other players as well, based on recent posts in this sub with people sharing nice crafts they were able to pull off for the first time in their lives.

To elaborate, the main positive thing I'm getting from this league is a very nice feeling that my gear is very personal and matters to me. In previous leagues I would only do very basic crafting, if that, and buy 99% of my gear from the market. Because of that, I never really felt attached to that gear, as it was dropped or crafted by someone else and was just filling the stats and mods my character needed. This time, however, by inverting that logic and crafting the majority of my gear either from scratch or from initial bases with specific mods, I have a bit of a story to tell for each piece of gear my character is wearing, related to how hard or how easy it was to get certain mods and realize a piece of gear from what I was planning. In this sense, I feel that the gear belongs to me a lot more than in other leagues, and that's pretty cool.

Remove non-fire modifier removes fire modifiers

    Posted: 04 Jul 2020 05:39 AM PDT

If an affix has multiple tags, the affix can be removed with the remove a non- harvest craft, even if it has that tag. This seems like a bug and I haven't seen it addressed by anyone.

PSA: You can auto-cast warcry with num-lock

    Posted: 04 Jul 2020 08:06 AM PDT

    Steps:

    1. Turn on num-lock.
    2. Assign your warcry skill to numpad 1 and save.
    3. Hold down numpad 1
    4. Turn off num-lock. You can release numpad 1 now.

This is especially useful with Call to Arms.

Petition to add mod modifier groups to advanced description

    Posted: 03 Jul 2020 05:44 PM PDT

Hi GGG, it would be very nice if we could see each affix's modifier group in the advanced description while holding Alt key. Currently it is not very clear what mods are attacks/physical etc.

    Thanks, a fan
