    Clear speed league starter?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 08:05 PM PDT

We're all waiting for the patch notes, but I was wondering what you guys are thinking about starting with. I'm still newish, so bear with me.

I'm not too concerned about boss speed. I'm just looking for a good DOT, AOE, or Chain(?) build that can take me to early/mid maps. I've played CA/TR trickster twice, Enki's once, and various builds in between. I'm looking for something like that, though. I don't have the mouse discipline (yet) for builds that require a lot of positioning and aiming.

Honestly, I was thinking about following BigDucks's cyclone build. I haven't been able to stick to a melee build all the way to maps yet, but that one looks like the good stuff.

Anyway, what do y'all think? Is anyone else curious about this hyper specific thing? Maybe Lancing Steel will be super good since they mentioned the steel gems in the trailer.

Strong build similar to ed/c or poison BV?

    Posted: 05 Sep 2020 02:03 AM PDT

I've played 10 or so characters to lvl90+ and cleared the atlas many times, but the above builds are what I've played in my two most recent leagues (metamorph and delirium) and I highly enjoyed both.

Are there any other builds that are competitive with these and similar-ish playstyle? I don't like re-playing builds but something similar would be nice!

Questions about zealots oath and siphoning trap

    Posted: 05 Sep 2020 01:25 AM PDT

I'm a cold focused witch and was wondering if the life regeneration from siphoning trap would switch to energy shield after selecting the zealot's oath perk passive. I've read that it works for the consecrated ground effect and the essence drain spell, but can't find anything about siphoning trap. The passive says "Life regeneration is applied to energy shield instead" and siphoning trap says "Regenerate X life per second while any enemy is affected" and "Regenerate X life per second for each affected enemy". I would assume it changes just about any life regeneration to energy shield, but sometime these perks can be misleading or just simply vague.

I'm also playing on ps4 in case someone wants to join up and hold my hand through proper functional build creation, lmao.

Is there a build as tanky as RF jugg but does more damage?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 03:30 PM PDT

Every league I always end up playing rf juggernaut because I get so sick of dying. With 10 endurance charges and kaoms way rings my phys reduction is 90%, great life regen, nearly 90% fire res and above 80% on cold and fire.

Is there another build as tanky? Tanky is my number one priority, then I try to get my damage as high as possible. My pob dps typically ends up around 1 million.

Is there any other build out there I can do that matches this or if better? I'm sick of doing the same guy each league.

QUESTION: Raider vs Champion projectile impale build (SC)

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 09:32 AM PDT

    https://pastebin.com/TmiJdD4X (champion)

    https://pastebin.com/fqEF0KKx (raider)

Trying to theorycraft a build for the new steel skills rework in heist, using the current lancing steel in PoB as a placeholder. I'm stuck trying to choose between champion and raider. When scaling impale with a projectile build, since you can't use multistrike, the huge attack speed from raider is really tempting, and according to PoB does significantly more damage than champion. However, since you are forced to use 6 passives on frenzy charges, getting defenses becomes a lot more difficult. I ended up going with wind dancer and acro/phase acro with the limited passive points I had on hand, it seemed like the most efficient defense nodes per point.

Champion while having less damage seems a lot easier to scale defenses on. Perma fortify and fort effect on the tree (stun immunity too!) seem super good and you can afford to take those nodes since you aren't forced to spend passives on frenzy charges. Intimidate + adrenaline is also great damage for a low investment of 2 ascendancy points. Champion with adrenaline actually just about equals raider's damage, but of course whether or not you have adrenaline is conditional. And sustaining adrenaline during boss fights seems... dubious at best.

Which ascendancy would you choose or think is better? In a league-start scenario. I think champion is better because perma fortify by itself can keep you alive on most low-end content but I think the raider attack speed would just feel so good to play with... and round and round it goes.

I prefer the pathing for a 2-hander version of the build, but if anyone wants to revise the trees or recommend any changes in general (1h+shield with glancing blows or dual wield) feel free to go ahead and make changes. (I made the raider's tree first and just copied over all the gear to the champion, that's why its all evasion based)

Been many months since I played- looking for the strongest arc build possible with new updated spells and such

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 08:01 PM PDT

Big fan of arc, last I played I best everything the game had to offer with vortex but arc is my favorite.

I see they have added crazy cluster jewels and spellslinger. Any builds that use these new mechanics that make arc totally broken? This is for non league, so legacy items are fine. I just and for effortlessly blow stuff up with lightning. Near unlimited budget because non league :)

    Skills that auto-target or spread

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 05:32 AM PDT

Can you help identify gems that auto-target or spread to enemies? Similar to those listed below. The I have played arc, Ed/cont, storm brand, and winter orb and enjoyed them but that was prior to changes on some of the gems. I'd like to test of a few to have a general understanding before patch notes so I can have a good league start. One that functions with CI would be cool since I haven't done a CI build yet. Thanks for any help.

Arc Storm brand Winter orb Ed/cont Volatile dead? Minions

Can someone lore me up on the state of brands in 3.11? We’re they Over nerfed? Looking at Armageddon or arcanist or winter tide for next league.

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 01:06 PM PDT

Are they just faster totems now or are they clunky? Im looking at running Armageddon trickster or some kind of fun arcanist trickster, but the Poeninja ssf makes them look underwhelming, especially considering crafting is actually accessible this league.

Anyone played one and can let me know how it feels? I have never played a brand build before so I figured it's time to give it a whirl.

    Ideas for Chaos Flameblast

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 05:37 PM PDT

What I have so far: https://pastebin.com/9frkJj4A

I've always thought flameblast was a cool skill, so the reveal for the alternate quality made me want to try to build around it and try something new. If anyone has any thoughts on something I've forgotten or other PoBs that have been posted, let me know.

Basic idea: stack copies of Low Tolerance for damage and use pathfinder's poison prolif for clear. Since flameblast hits so slowly, it ends up dealing 1 huge poison, instead of multiple smaller ones like other poison builds. Quality and Low Tolerance are simulated on a jewel, for now. Obviously not league-starter friendly, as it needs 1) alt. flameblast, 2) 2x Voices, 3) tons of other cluster jewels, and 4) a pretty good bow. A great staff would 100% be better if min-maxed, but this is just a proof-of-concept, not a super min-maxed PoB.

Vortex Occultist as a league starter?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 09:53 AM PDT

Assuming no major nerfs - how good is this build as a league starter?

I have never played it and I want to play an Occultist again.

    Raider Totem Builld

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 02:58 PM PDT

So goofing off on standard I discovered something new (to me at least). Raider using Kinetic Blast supported by Siege Ballista totem using wand/Victario's Charity for frenzy generating totems. Has anyone tried this before or something similar?

Duelist max block struggling on red maps

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 10:29 AM PDT

Hi there!I wanted a max block, swords + shield bleed build, and then I made this here dualist.

Right now, it has has mediocre clear speed, but, mainly, I'm struggling to survive on T14 corrupted maps. I thought this was "decent", but, right now, the DPS is low, and the survivability as well. I'm bad at generating currency, but, after seeing some 50c builds doing all content, and realising I spent around 2ex on this one (1.5 ex on the shield, the rest on uniques), I want to understand where did I fail on this build.

I went armor + evasion because armor has diminishing returns, so I though that, instead of getting that little bit more of physical reduction, I would be better off getting some base evasion. Being a max block and having the counter attack buff from the ascendancy, I'm using both block triggered skills + vengeance to apply the Vulnerability and have a buff on damage as well (also helps with the clear speed). I know the health is on the low side, but I couldn't get any more of it without sacrificing the already low damage. I tried to stick together everything I knew of to exploit the max block, but that is still not alone.

Where have I gone wrong on this build?

(the sword I crafted myself with basic seeds from Harvest - some rolls are low, but a 400 DPS sword is worth some 1.5 ex, so I think it is a pretty decent weapon for a brainless auto-plant gameplay, right? I'd only change the mana leech for life leech and it would be perfect for my level of investment on it)

Bleed and Impale. Convince me not to do this...

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 01:38 PM PDT

Putting together some PoB's for Heist and I was working with Shattering steel or lancing Steel. I am playing ssf so the availability of items can be limited. I was between champion and gladiator and really enjoy the bleed explosions from gladiator as getting explode chest can be difficult.

I've put together a PoB that I felt as though wasn't necessarily going too out of my way for bleed but did aim to get 100% chance. Is this bad? Is this good? Don't have a lot of experience with either impale or bleed and never hear of people using both and I assume thats because its bad.

    Any input would be appreciated...

    Lightning Warp Auto Bomber

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 10:44 AM PDT

    Hi Frands,

I have made a lightning warp auto bomber. No clue if it would work. Don't have time to test it either. If you want to, go for it. It's only here in concept, so you can modify it as you want.

The idea is simple. You lightning warp across the map. As you warp, you shock, Chill and kill. This causes Herald of Thunder and Herald of Ice to come into the mix. Does it work? No clue. Probably needs more cold damage to allow Warp to freeze and proc Herald of Ice. Could be done with the new ring maybe. Again, no time to test it. The gear is not filled out on it. Could be finished by you though.

Why Lightning warp? Cause why the fuck not.
