Bored, looking to make a build around some unique items no one really uses, any ideas?

What are the best can do all builds?

    Posted: 31 Aug 2020 06:48 AM PDT

I am looking for a build that you can league start with, that can do well offensively and defensly as a SSF character basically and that scales well even with smaller investment. Builds that feel like ass until you invest 50+ ex are not my cup of tea.

    What the build should have:

-decent clear speed and single target, I don't want to sacrifice one for the other

-decent defenses, I don't want to get oneshot by everything and my mechanics except for the big end game bosses are quite bad tbh (love max block builds!)

-builds that don't rely on crazy expensive rares or uniques to just function

-should be able to become more powerful naturally (meaning not having to grind for currency to upgrade because you can't clear red maps once you hit them for example)

Things I dislike in a build:

    -dodge/evasion based builds

    -ED/C

-relying on flasks to be good unless Pathfinder

    -pressing too many buttons

-minions, because you have to run face first into danger and the damage comes later, sometimes way later (looking at you golems)

Everything else is game basically. Build guides would be highly appreciated because I am big dumb when it comes to builds.

I would try a few builds out before next league hits so I have a league starter I look forward to.

    Dark Pact totem build options

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 02:59 AM PDT

Hey there Exiles. I'm returining to PoE after some time, had to quit in legion. Now I wanna start new league with Dark Pact (or shockwave) totems with Astral Projector ring, but since then many thing changed I have no idea what to pick. Tried to do something in PoB but I failed. Found 2 builds that I wanted to work around: 1. https://pastebin.com/fF049Qr2 - mathil recent build. No idea why he crafts "while Focused" Can someone explain this to me? 2. https://pastebin.com/dLz5S7aE - some generic build with Soul Mantle, self curse and (2x kikazaru rings early)-> Atziri's Reflection (end game)

I Would like to know which build would be better to play and why. Numbers in PoB are way diffrent in those 2. Any suggestions? Cheers

What’s a solid bosser that doesn’t also need to be a good mapper?

    Posted: 31 Aug 2020 09:23 PM PDT

I have around 10-15x to play with. All of my builds are centered around fast/smooth mapping but none are fantastic at things like Sirus/Shaper. Any builds out there that are mostly single target dps that I could get going within that budget?

Any way to make Agnostic Archmage build without spamming Mana Flasks?

    Posted: 31 Aug 2020 06:46 PM PDT

I tried Big Ducks Ball Lightning Archmage build. I like the Ball Lightning DPS, but I hate spamming flasks 3x/sec. That is annoying and I'm afraid of breaking my keyboard. Plus the defense is still really lacking. Is there any way to salvage this build by taking away its reliance on flask spamming? Can I get similar results just through mana regen? If so, how?

    Thanks for your time.

Help min/maxing a cyclone CoC ball lightning elementalist please.

I've been playing POE since it came to Xbox in 3.0 but only in the past few leagues played seriously enough to make it into red maps and end game content. So I still have a lot to learn!

This character is capable of t16 if barely juiced. Clear speed is solid, but bossing is slow and she is definitely too fragile. She has decent gear with good resistances and life...but I don't really know how to take the next step with it. Reduced damage taken mods? Explode mechanic? Blind on hit? If anyone has time to glance at my build and make suggestions of what to fix/ change, I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks!!

Also, my account is public. So if you want to look the character up that way, my Xbox account is Everdeen91. The character is Melisandre_ in standard league.

Weighing League Starters: is BV Chieftain better as a second character?

    Posted: 31 Aug 2020 12:04 PM PDT

I've been weighing league starters for 3.12. Obviously there are going to be nerfs and that will affect my decision, but if everything stayed approximately the same or only got mildly nerfed I was thinking of going zombie necromancer just because of how scalable it is on budget gear. A few crappy rares and a way to get an extra gem level or two and you're really cooking with gas. I haven't played a minion build since Diablo 2 really, so the playstyle would take some getting used to, but I could make it work until I could get enough currency for something else.

I was looking into the BV chieftain and I'm really thinking of it as a second character at the very least, but also wondering how reasonable it is as a league starter? I am not a super speed racer, but I would like to be mapping within the first 5 days or so, and I'd gladly give up a days worth of efficiency to not have to level a second character so soon after league start.

Seems like the big needs for BV chieftain are the explody gloves, a decent 6 link bow, quiver for fire conversion, maybe kaoms heart. Reasonably affordable with some basic chaos recipe shenanigans it seems like, am I wrong? How far can I scale this on a sub-exalt budget for those opening days when I'm not guaranteed any big currency drops?

Basically if there's a chance I could get "stuck" running chaos recipe and yellow maps for a week or more waiting for the big drop that accelerates my progress, then I might wait until second character for this build. But if I should be able to get to red maps on 50 chaos or less, then I'd probably jump right into this one. Thoughts? How handicapped is this build on a low budget?

Making an Immortal ZDPS Build on a budget

    Posted: 31 Aug 2020 02:12 PM PDT

EDIT: Got the build together, I'll put together a showcase tomorrow (its is... quite tanky)

    Theorycrafting PoB: https://pastebin.com/AN4uPSab

I've been thinking of making an immortal build to loot fractured fully delirious maps. It is mostly just for fun, to see how cheap it can be to make a character tanky as fuck if you focus on little else.

    Requirements are:

    Fast (200%+ movement speed)

Tanky (unkillable even in highest level of content)

Because of this, pathfinder is basically mandatory; otherwise, since you can't kill mobs, you will have no way to sustain flasks.

I opted for pathfinder/gladiator. Necro gives more block, but we already have enough without. I also use 'The Traitor' keystone from Balbala brutal restraint, because we only care about 2 flasks (quicksilver + granite/jade). You could use granite and jade, but honestly I think 300k armor is enough.

I've thrown together a PoB and it seems like it will be sufficiently tanky, with 8.8k es, 5.8k (LUL) ES gain on block and capped block chance as well as 250% + movement speed. I think total cost should be at most 10 ex, with most of that being the belt (which is honestly optional but BiS for moving fast).

Does anyone have any advice for improving this build?

Ice nova Inquisitor Pledge of hands, Help appreciated!

    Posted: 31 Aug 2020 07:05 AM PDT

Hi, im trying to get a Ice nova/frostbolt build to work, for 3.12 (probably would need some changes after patch notes, but i wanted to have something tangible now)

I got some decent dps (4m sirusdps), a nice enough 6k ehp and nice defences (75/75 glancing blows + Elusive). All res cap and nice crit/crit multi. But im not happy with the mana (near 2k pool but not a good recovery).

Also im not sold with using Slow proj, idk if its gonna be detrimental for mapping, im gonna try it before league ends and see how good is gonna be to "leaguestart" with it (im leaguestarting with a similar build but spellslinger at least till yellow maps, and then transition to this build)

Hope anyone can contribute to get a nice build to tackle endgame :D

    https://pastebin.com/NbWi67ad

(im almost certain that im gonna need to change cinderswallow to an enduring mana pot for bossing)
