A new strategy for looting the majority of each contract/grand heist Posted: 26 Sep 2020 04:46 AM PDT Hi there guys! I've been toying around with the new parameters of the Heist system and I wanted to share what I discovered. Turns out, there are stats you can roll on NPC gear that allows you to extend the duration of the lockdown timer. That's the timer that pops up if you fill the meter, but haven't finished your heist and yoinked your target artifact yet. During that time, you can still loot chests, open doors, do everything you wanna do to maximize loot. If you stack these attributes and get good rolls, it is perfectly possible to scale the timer on regular contracts to somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 seconds to a full minute, and more if you're using Isla at a high level. This is plenty of time, I've found, to loot the remaining 1/3-1/2 of a contract after ticking my alert meter to full, and I've been playing on a build that isn't particularly quick. I imagine with full min-maxing as some sort of pathfinder with super movespeed scaling, fully looting every heist you run would be child's play. The stats you're looking for are %increased lockdown timer (which rolls on every piece of rogue equipment, up to 20% at ilvl 83) and + to number of seconds on lockdown timer (which is much rarer, much more powerful, and will only roll on the middle item in each rogue's inventory) - this mod can go up to 10 additional seconds at ilvl 83, and is a massive boost to how long you have to yoink stuff, since it scales off of the % increases you are stacking otherwise. These bonuses are also additive on grand heists, so if you take Isla on a mission and kit her and her friends out with stalling gear, you will reach a lockdown timer that can push past two full minutes. Rolling optimal gear for this is a bit of a chore, as the +10 additional seconds is quite rare, and needs a high level base. 1. Prepared for Battle
Very Easy. This challenge teaches us how to survive from these bosses attacks by equipping proper gear resistance, which is the essential part of defense mechanic. 2. Complete Heist Encounters I
watch Grimro for more basic guide on heist mechanic Easy. This challenge teaches us how to interact with current league mechanic, heist. 3. Complete these Quests
Easy. All of these are side-optional-quests are NOT recommend to skip, because they give valuable reward for your leveling process. 4. Defeat these Act Bosses IEasy. You'll encounter them as you progressing your journey/quest, these are the first-half of the act bosses, if can't kill just get a party to help. 5. Complete Encounters I
Easy. An introduction of some of the past league mechanic added to core game. 6. Complete Heist Encounters II
Easy. This challenge is like another guide on how to interact with heist mechanic. 7. Complete Encounters II
Normal. An introduction of some of the past league and expansion mechanic. 8. Defeat these Act Bosses IIEasy. You'll encounter them as you progressing your journey/quest, these are the second-half of the act bosses, if can't kill just get a party to help. 9. Complete Heist Encounters IIINormal. All of these contract-types are drop randomly from monster, none of them are rare drop so no worries about RNG. 10. Complete Vendor Recipes
Very Easy. A good introduction of vendor recipe to newbies, the best way to get rich easily in PoE. Also for experience player you can skip some of these easily buy using Gilded Fossil crafting. 11. Modify Heist ContractsEasy. This challenges inform you that you can craft the contract item too just like a regular map. 12. Defeat the Conquerors of the AtlasNormal. These are the new end game bosses since 3.9.0 update, if you build can't really kill them then just ask for experience player to help you kill them off when u got the map to spawn them. 13. Defeat Heist Unique MonstersEasy. These minibosses spawn randomly through contract room, they spawn quite common too. 14. Complete Encounters III
Normal. These challenges makes the boss a bit tricky to do, can be done in low tier map so should be no problem. 15. Complete Grand Heists
Normal. A little challenge for the end game content of heist mechanic. 16. Complete Twinned MapsNot all maps can have "twinned" modifier, for example Kitava or Innocence boss. Normal. Surprisingly they change from require specific map to have twinned challenge, to more broad choices and with lesser amount! Nonetheless some map boss are more tricky to do when two of them in a small room, you can try roll a magic rarity of the map with "Twin" mod so make the fight easier. If still can't, just ask someone else to help kill when u got them. 17. Obtain Heist RewardsEasy. Each rogue tie with specific reward when doing heist with them, here's the cheat sheet regarding their reward. 18. Heist Enchantment ModificationNew content, will update later ... 19. Equip Experimented Base TypesNew content, will update later ... 20. Equip Heist RoguesEasy. Heist equipment drop randomly from a contract room, which can be craft-able and only usable on heist NPC(can view them by pressing V in Rogue Harbor). They are mostly useful for doing heist beside giving them strength, especially reducing their cost, decrease alert level, increase reward etc etc ... 21. Turn in Divination Cards
Normal. Wow ... they make the divination card challenge even better! From 1 for each stacks to .... double for each stack, even EASIER! Never had problem completing them but ... Thanks GGG!! 22. Complete Encounters IV
Normal. Mostly are just additional mechanic from zana's map device, can spend some chaos orb on her device if you're wanna rush this challenge. Is a good investment too you not only get these mechanic, but also league-exclusive-unique drops too. 23. Achieve AscensionPoELAB is a good resource to check whether today is a short/safe layout to be run or not. Also try install LabCompass for more convenient, is a MUST tools for labyrinth camper! Here's are the locations for each trial to obtain before able to enter certain difficulty labyrinth:
Easy. Labyrinth will get easier when you practice more, if your build can't do it, just pay someone to bring you to do it ;) 24. Complete Eight-Mod MapsNormal. This is harder than unidentified rare map, to have 8 mods on red maps(T11+), you need to use Vaal Orb to corrupt a map into 8 mods. And again, just ask ppl help you deal with the dangerous map that u crafted, or make a rotation party to farm 8 mods red tier maps will be a bit easier. Click HERE for 8 modifiers red map search via PoE Official Trading Website 25. Level Heist JobsWatch Grimro video about rogue tier list Normal. Just keep doing heist you'll level them up to max level eventually, also there's some heist equipment able to give more exp to the rogue. Quest Item contract are also important as they able to increase their cap of their skill level, so try do them as soon you got them, they are randomly drop too. 26. Reach Level 90Normal. This .... require a decent build to do this, require within a month to reach this level. If bad build that die a lot then .... maybe then need around a month+ 27. Alternate Quality ExperimentsNew content, will update later ... 28. Complete Heist Encounters IVNormal. Pretty straight forward, the numbers is achievable for casual players. 29. Acquire Replica Unique ItemsNew content, will update later ... 30. Complete Unique MapsNormal. Do 15 out of 19, with the help of The Encroaching Darkness divination card, this challenge will be slightly easier to complete as you keep grinding end game maps collecting this cards. Even your RNG is sux collecting these card, you could buy some of the unique map at here, most of the unique map are quite cheap. The least 4 favorite unique map I would skip is ... Hall Of Grandmaster(hard), Perandus Manor(very expensive), The Putrid Cloister(expensive), and Doryani's Machinarium(expensive) depending whose the 4th expensive map is =D 31. Explore the Atlas
Normal. This challenge just guiding us how much those bonuses will impact our atlas drop rate drastically. 32. Complete Heist QuestsNormal. Most of them are randomly drop, and these quest are required to raise their cap level for each rogue ... a bit RNG to collect them but at least they won't spawn same contract again after you done them. And also .... more LOREs ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) 33. Complete Unique ContractsNew content, will update later ... 34. Defeat The TwinsNew content, will update later ... 35. Complete Encounters V (40/40)
Hard. Most of these challenge are really hard to pull off especially in high tier content, if you can't do it then try ask/hired a friend to help this challenge when you able to spawn these bosses. 36. Heist Map Grind (40/40)Hard. 75,000% Item Quantity completion really feels a lot easier than previous league map grind challenge, because untill now my map progress still in tier 2(1st week) and i've already gain 1k item quantity already just by doing couple of magic rarity contract, pretty good! I say is achievable you planning to grind the heist content for a month or more. 37. Defeat Heist Bosses ConditionallyNew content, will update later ... 38. Defeat The Twins ConditionallyNew content, will update later ... 39. Complete Deadly Encounters (40/40)
Hard. This is way better than previous deadly encounter challenge, compare to last time no option to now we can choose is a BUFF! Really hope there's more challenge like these in the future where we go to choose which content to do instead of doing all! 6 out of 4, for me I would skip Cortex because that map is pretty expensive, then Aul because is pretty RNG to find it, but if I manage to found it ... then I'll skip Uber Elder because the cost of it's map is also quite expensive. 40 Complete Endgame Grinds (40/40)
Hard. First of all ... I'm so SURPRISE there's no more atlas boss kill challenge in the list! O_o which make the rest of the challenge pretty easy! Well beside the big numbers of course ... Doing 4 out of 6, without a doubt I would skip that Level 100, that's ridiculous grind ... then next option to skip is might be 750 heist ... I'm sorry GGG that number is too big for me, i can imagine i can do 500 chest labyrinth faster than the 750 heist. Is really depending on player preference though, if you're really hate labyrinth content then ... you got no choice but to do 750 heist brainlessly =P I will still be active updating this page from time to time whenever I got new INTEL untill the league ends ;) Hopefully you guys understand my poor english and also helped new comer to try get 40/40 challenges =D Change-logs last update 26th September 2020. Posted: 25 Sep 2020 04:47 PM PDT I mostly lurk here but, as someone working in data science, I really do not understand how this has not been implemented as it is really common in every other big online PC game. Player surveys are a fucking god send for customer analytics. You can cater the survey to any criteria. Want to hear from someone based on game time? Want to hear from someone with almost any criteria based on the game you can think of? You can do all that with player surveys but you will pretty much never be able to realistically do that with accuracy on Reddit. I do believe Reddit offers valuable information but you should never make decisions solely based on upvoted posts on Reddit or frequently posted subjects. You will likely be getting less than 10% of the whole picture you should be wanting to make decisions. You could pay anyone 40k a year that has a slight amount of analytics experience to design surveys that get you better feedback than you get on Reddit. Don't take my word for it. For the love of god hire a consultant that will help you improve your product. It is actually absurd how much potential PoE has as a product with how unique its end game and content additions are. Now imagine if you found a way to hold onto players for a month instead of losing 1/3rd within a week of league launch. PoE is a complete anomaly in the gaming industry and there is so much you can do to improve the product with player surveys. Edit: I just want to reply to a few common comments this post has been getting. The first is along the lines of "you are naive if you think GGG makes changes based on feedback from Reddit." They have explicitly stated they listen to feedback on Reddit and it does impact the changes they make. How much or how little is up for debate but when probably around 90% of their feedback is from Reddit and changes are made to the league design immediately, you can be all but certain Reddit has the most influence. The second is "but only this type of person fills out surveys" or "no one is going to fill them out." Incentivizing honest surveys is extremely easy. Give people a mystery box for filling out a survey and another one if their survey seems honest (usually surveys have comments you can add and, while these are sometimes only scanned with software for common words, they are often read in their entirety). "But they would lose money!" it is fairly basic economics that, when dealing with purchases that can be useful or desirable to be purchased multiple times, giving away a free one (especially in the case of virtual cosmetics) is a net positive in that it builds a sort of good will to people who would not be spending the money either way and people that would spend money on them will still do so. Looting all the chests while killing nothing was clearly not intended nor was it fun for a large portion of the playerbase. "Fixing" that by making the rewards pitiful is not the fault of the people who complained the mechanic was poorly designed. I have never complained about a league Posted: 25 Sep 2020 11:15 PM PDT On reddit, twitch, global chat, discord to my friends. I just play the league and always enjoy whatever new content the game brings I have loved poe for years, poured thousands of hours into it, hundreds per league, ignore MANY life responsibilities the first few weeks of a new league. But what in the fuck is Heist. I am in the minority of people who weren't very excited for it when I saw the trailer, but I was willing to give it the same attention I do every league start. I'm also in the minority of people who don't care about bugs, the enormity or video game design and server stability is so beyond me I feel like an idiot screaming to the void to "fix the servers!" The content itself is just awful. Sure the voice lines and lore are neat, and even the animations of things the characters are doing in the heists are a cool change of pace, but heist as a league mechanic is just CLUNKY. I'm staring at my minimap more than the zone itself trying to navigate my way to the Curio display at the end, randomly clicking on chests to collect chromatics and blessed orbs. The "reward" rooms have become an absolute meme of blight oils, catalysts, and jewelry that I don't even bother identifying. (I'm running level 83 contracts) if I don't position my character perfectly, Huck has a seizure trying to shield himself from the blast. The mobs themselves don't drop anything useful, I feel like I'm waiting for doors to open or traps to be disarmed more than I'm killing things, you can't sustain maps because maps only have a CHANCE of being a reward in engineering contracts, AND WHY DO HEISTS GIVE SHIT EXP. this is literally the worst part of all of it. Contracts are tedious and the amount you have to run in order to have the coins for a grand heist, where the end reward ends up being 5 replica uniques or alternate quality gems that are worth 1c a piece is just laughable. Or my favorite, 5 different options of selecting 20 chance orbs. I find myself trying to CONVINCE myself to play poe rather than being super excited to neglect work and chores like a normal league start. I'm on GGGs side 99 times out of 100, but this is the earliest I think I'll quit a league since I started playing [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||
