Good Bossing build as second build?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 10:26 PM PDT

So, I've been running ED/contagion and I'm up to T14/15 now but the damage has predictably started to feel pretty poor. I know I can push it further by getting empower & 21 gems, but I'm kind of over playing it now.

I'm looking for suggestions on a good second build to primarily push conq/sirus a8, and delve. No BV stuff, I hate that skill a lot and I've tried it a bunch, not for me. Otherwise, I'm pretty open to w/e and I should have around a 3-5ex budget to start with.

Things I've looked at that seem potentially promising: BF/BB Chieftain, ignite discharge chieftain, poison pathfinder, poison BF/CoC assassin, cyclone CWC DD necro.

Thanks for any suggestions guys, if you can link a guide or POB for me to check out with any suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

Impending doom autobomber, autobombing on a 1 chaos budget

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 08:14 AM PDT

Since I'm kinda done with the league, I thought I'd share a fun build that I've been running since the league start. Was kind of afraid that GGG would otherwise fix an overlooked interaction/bug of the impending doom skill gem.

So what is this interaction/bug, that I'm talking about? Well, you can actually apply impending doom with triggered curses, despite what the gem's tooltip says!

Equip any skill that hits, link it with hextouch support, a random curse spell and impending doom, and you'll notice that impending doom will trigger every time the curse ends. Moreover, whenever impending doom triggers, it reapplies the curse spell since it's linked by the hextouch support as well. Now you've created a neat little feedback loop which triggers impending doom each time the curse ends!

However, waiting for the curse to end isn't very efficient. Luckily, there are other ways to trigger impending doom. The fastest way to trigger impending doom is by overruling the existing curse with an other curse while having a curse limit of 1. Manually casting curses is too much effort, so instead we're going to use another item with the 'Curse enemies on hit' modifier. The cheapest item with this modifier that you can get is the unique 'Mark of submission' ring which can be bought for the grand sum of... 1 chaos.

Now when you hit an enemy, you'll notice that you immediately trigger all 3 uses of the impending doom skill. Impending doom has a cooldown of 0.15 seconds, so as long as you hit at least every 0.45 seconds, you're constantly triggering all your impending dooms. With herald of thunder, we can hit every 0.25 seconds while foregoing attack/cast speed entirely. Since impending doom can apply shock, it's very easy to sustain herald of thunder. What's also nice is that you can link herald of thunder with hextouch support, a curse and impending doom without paying for impending doom's mana multiplier since it does not affect herald of thunder directly.

While impending doom's damage doesn't look too exciting at first glance, you're triggering it every 0.15 seconds on average. You don't need any attack or cast speed, so the best way to scale its damage is by going assassin and going all-in on crit and spell/chaos/aoe damage. Damage may be pushed further by going poison, although I'm not entirely sure yet about taking that route.

No real gear requirements are needed other than an item with the 'Curse enemies on hit' modifier. You can start autobombing by the end of act 4 if you're using the 'Mark of submission' ring. I've found the tree below to be a decent start for the build, the rest is up to your own liking. I'm sure someone with more dedication to PoE can push the build a lot further.

    https://poeplanner.com/ABYAAMcAFhYAAGCw2KLZyBT1b2qMFr8mlWHiVUuMNonTcFIqC13ymFMfQQbntUikBQ5IEZYHHpUu8NVJUY_66_VknfIdf8aTJ2wLIvRtGQj0akO86iycBUKus0GW0PVMs9Af7-s7DREP215QMKyYOlhVxvfXMlhCOjHvJC2boY9GHRT60vemjmS2-hZv42pmnhZAhX3jhA3RY0O7Tb9Lc71n_KKjD8Q7fLjKylk5mdFFvoqhLxvINj2dqmyMYqzP3fGKMjIQktmGvG8AAAAAAA==

Edit: Ok, I took the effort to record a video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q-0sLmhpiE&feature=youtu.be

Still running on a tabula, lvl 19 impending doom, missing ascendancy points, only 40% poison chance, and overall trash gear.

Anyone else loving replica alberons warpath?

    Posted: 27 Sep 2020 02:05 AM PDT

Finally gave into the urge to build around this and I am so happy I did. I spent a bunch of time messing around with different skills, hit vs poison, wand vs bow vs claw, and there are a TON of strong ways to use this item. This was my rough draft PoB for kinetic blast/power siphon poison pathfinder before I respec'd into it, the budget was only around 1-2 exalts (crafted some of the gear and recycled some so hard to say exactly)

PoB is showing ~2m sirus dps but that's with wither stacks, If the totems are dead the damage is still fantastic. Poison KB feels great to clear with

If anyone has ideas how to improve it I am all ears!

I cant wait to get into some real gear with these, the damage is already insane as is :)

    Ice crash build

    Posted: 27 Sep 2020 04:00 AM PDT

Hey guys. I am interested in preparing for my second char this league. I love herald of ice shatters, so I was thinking of trying ice crash.

I never played ice crash. What options do I have for ascendancy? I saw a lot of Jugg, but I would prefer not to go jug.

What other options are for decent ice crash builds? I never played slayer, and that sounded like a decent pick, but I don't really know, so that is why I am asking.

    Thanks.

My league starter turned out to be crap, lf a new build

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 11:29 PM PDT

Hey, I played scion cyclone, later rerolled into an aura stacker, but it's just so squishy without good clusters. Right now I'm selling my gear, the budget should be around 20 ex.

I'm looking for a build mostly focused on clear speed, but also able to do aw8 sirus, uber elder etc. It doesn't have to be scion, tbh I'd rather play sth else

I liked stuff like CoC Assa, KB/TS Deadeye, in general, I like Herald of Ice, but I'm down to playing something else this time, maybe some of the new skills.

    Any ideas?

Blade Blast hit, poison or TR?

    Posted: 27 Sep 2020 04:52 AM PDT

Hello! So i came here to seek some advice.

I'm in doubt of those 3 builds. I know all of them can do all content, but what would be more cost efficient?

The 3 options are good for me if I think about having fun, so what would be the most cost efficient while having decent survivability?

The last question is: how hard would be to achieve something like this BB Poison PoB (if we ignore the body armour) without harvest crafting? https://pastebin.com/VGCS6XsX
    Thank you!

Eternal Apple Guardian - Send help

    Posted: 27 Sep 2020 04:38 AM PDT

Last league, I attempted to make a chieftain using the Eternal Apple. Then, I used cyclone - cast on channel - Discharge along with Romira's Banquet and Voll's devotion to get insane amounts of endurance charges, which I'd continously explode away, triggering my Eternal Apple (which I had enduring and infernal cry in). Along with this, I also used Kingsguard to get more regeneration from the charges eaten. The end result? So-so. The discharge itself did some damage and once I added Righteous Fire, I had an okay amount of clear and damage for early maps, but it was not great.

This league, I decided I was going all in. It was apple time once more. So I made a Guardian, bought every single warcry skill that exists, got all the good nodes for warcries on the tree, and went for it. Only of the problems I first faced was how on earth do I actually reliably get endu charges to trigger my apple? The replica Ambu's Charge along with two Fragility jewels solves that fairly well.

The end result? I'm currently on the end of act 9. I have 4k hp, which means I get 400 hp+ whatever bonus from warcry effectiveness, every single time I use a warcry. That's not counting Enduring Cry. For damage, I use General's Cry, which does respectable but non-sexy amounts of damage in my current four-link set-up.

Now, the ideal situation would be to use Scold's bridle, which with the other items, would mean that every single thing I do that expends mana damages me, thus triggering Ambu's Charge, thus triggering the Apple. The problem? Scold's Bridle primarily helps me get magic damage and warcries, for the most part, primarily provide physical damage.

This is where I'm struggling at the moment. I have a good loop for The Eternal Apple that gives me hilarious regeneration - but I don't know what to do with it - and my warcry spam boosts my damage (any damage, due to Escalation) some for minions via Rallying Cry, but primarily physical.

I definitely leapt before looking with this, so here is my question. What use could I make of this insane regen and the warcry spam to scale damage effectively?

How well does selfcast freezing pulse scale into endgame?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 10:05 PM PDT

I always liked freezing pulse as an skill for it visuals while leveling a new spellcaster through act 1 but i always changed to a different skill at level 12 and never took it to maps.

Which Ascendancy would be optimal for it? Assassin? And how good or bad is the singletarget of it?

What to do next in my Creeping Frost occultist build?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 11:44 PM PDT

Hey guys ive started the game again after a long time(9 months or so) and am playing big duck's creeping frost occultist. i did make a few changes like going for cwdt-ic isntead of manual cast steelskin and gained a big survivability boost. currently have around 600k pob dps.

I am mostly confused as to the upgrade path i should be targetting going forward. I want to be able to kill sirus level atleast, shaper with comfort this league as ive never done it before. please help me out, i would be very grateful.

Not sure what to level/upgrade next, Earthquake jugg

    Posted: 27 Sep 2020 02:55 AM PDT

My EQ jugg feels a little slow and the slams done feel like they are hitting as hard as POB says... I have 1500+ Str and I am struggling to figure out what i should do to improve the build. It feels like replica frost breath double damage might not be working. Should I consider a different weapon or perhaps some poison scaling as I have massive Chaos damage and could use swift affliction instead of less duration? Any advice would be great.

3 new players - HC together

    Posted: 27 Sep 2020 02:52 AM PDT

    Hi All,

I'm a returning player after many many years along with two friends who have never played.

I'm sure the recommendation will be to start with SC and/or play solo first but hey.. we want to give it a go anyway.

    Could anyone recommend some current cookie cutter HC builds (preferably with a guide) for;

    • Forgiving/safe character - that doesn't require skill uptime/flasks etc to do so.
    • Capable of also farming solo
    • Cheap Cheap Cheap
    • As above, may not trade that much at least until late

My friends are playing marauder/witch and I'm open to anything (do like totem builds?).

Natural progression of builds and currency making.

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 08:27 PM PDT

So I play the new broken spectres, but I want to play BV chieftain.

What would be better, to invest into a bladeblast chieftain, and transition it into the BV one, or to just continue as spectres.

Because currently i've reached a stagnation in currency gain, I have 10 ex invested into my spectre build, but havent had solid drops in days, Do I continue pumping money into my spectres in order to afford new/better builds? Can BV be done on a 10 ex budget?

    LF build with low performances/settings

    Posted: 27 Sep 2020 01:56 AM PDT

    Hello,

after a week into the league, I managed to farm around 15ex with my league starter bv.

I'm now looking for a build to complete the atlas and 36/40, because my bv can't do bossing and stuff. The main reason for that is that my computer have insane low performance wiith PoE since like 3.9, and it's not better this league.

So I'm looking for something both really tanky and with good dps. I'm not looking into speed clear, I tried an ice shot build and my legion went to 2-3 fps, so unplayable with a squishy build. I do really like summon, because they can do shit even if I have a freeze (and I have a lot of them).

The most obvious build would be golems, but I already played that, and it's so expensive this league. Also I hate spectre and animate, don't want something to micromanage. So honestly I don't really know what's left. So I'm looking for any idea for a build like that.

Fun and fast builds that can get going without much stuff?

    Posted: 27 Sep 2020 12:33 AM PDT

    Hello,

So I've been playing on SSF for the first time. Neither enjoying the league nor my build, I'm trying to fix the latter! Currently playing TR Trickster, very strong, good damage, good defenses, but I don't like the ranged playstyle.

My RNG has been kinda weird, I'm level 90 (with many deaths though) and have 9 pure exalts, dropped a "The Fiend"... All of which are relatively useless.

However, I have a crazy good triple res temple %life 6L chest, several good unique chests (Cherubim's, Inpulsa, Belly, Carcass Jack)... But I have pretty mediocre rares, couldn't find much crafting bases.

I wanted to reroll Slayer Cyclone with a 2H sword, but after spending around 200 chaos, 400 alterations, all my essences and fossils, I didn't get anything remotely useful.

So I'm left wondering: should I hit the Migrate all button? Is there redemption for me?

Note that I'm looking for some spellcasting or melee action.

    Thanks in advance!

I have 2-3 exalted but can grind more fairly easily. Also yes I have a wither setup but messed up my sockets so its not in right now. POB: https://pastebin.com/kUShqXH6

I made Righteous Fire Totems but since I never played Righteous Fire or Totems and made only one build in the past I want to ask if I'm not missing something important here. Will this be able to get far in the maps?

Need help optimizing a PS wander Elementalist

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 10:11 PM PDT

    https://pastebin.com/Phwr5W0a

The damage feels okay in red maps but nowhere near proportional to how squishy I am. I have some currency to spend but have no idea where to go with itemization. Should I just try to respec into CI with something like Incandescent heart? Is elementalist just a poorly suited ascendancy for this? It feels pretty bad with the golems dying constantly in harder content

Also, am I missing something about the wands? they seem to outdps much more expensive wands as long as the enemy is blinded (and the aura is pretty much screenwide)

    Which Minion Build to go

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 09:37 PM PDT

As the title states I'm not sure which of the many variations of minion builds to go.

Pure Spectre and Golems seem really good rn but PS I'm not sold on since I have 0 clue which spectre I'd wanna use since that's still got a good chunk of variations and Golems are expensive rn plus I dont think the build I've been following would allow for an easy transition to golems.

I also couldve sworn I'd seen some minion build that used the arakalli's fang spiders as well so that might be interesting to try out if I can get one/ if it turns out to be worth it

What other kinds of minion builds are there and which do yall prefer.
