    Corpsewalker Cyclone CWC Detonate Dead!

    After playing Heist to death with some meta builds, I decided a week or so ago to liquidate a bunch of my stuff and dump currency into something real hipstery that would still be a challenge to optimize. In a few years of playing i have never accumulated more than 10~ex or so per league until Heist, so this is the first time I've had 40-50ex to play with. Thank you, CoS GS Champ workhorse.

    Anyways, I had seen u/thatsrealneato's Noteworthy Interactions video and was intrigued. I thought the concept was cool, but as he had stated the build was left quite un-optimized.

    After 200+ regrets, 3 or so iterations on the build, 30-40ex worth of spending (sometimes on stuff I didn't even end up using), a whole bunch of research on how Spectre life affects corpses and DD damage (Thanks u/ThisisBadger and his excellent video and spreadsheet here) I ended up with this:

    Some improvements from the initial concept:

    • 2.5x more PoB damage
    • 1,500 more energy shield
    • 50% block chance without glancing blows, overall ~60k more physical EHP
    • Bleed immunity, 3% max elemental res increase from Apep's Supremacy + Golden Rule
    • Reduced CWC cooldown, improved movement speed, etc., from Torrent's Reclamation (really made the build pop once I got it)
    • Use of Anomalous Desecrate/high health spectres for massive damage increase

    Regarding the last point - the PoB damage of Detonate Dead's Corpse Explosion is very misleading. The base damage listed is the same as the fire spell damage listed on the gem, but that is incorrect. The actual damage is based on 6% of the health of the corpse being detonated. Badger's video and spreadsheet do a good job of explaining the massive damage increase you can get by summoning spectres with high health for Desecrate; the same strategy is used for corpses generated by the Corpsewalker boots.

    However, since Badger's video, Primal Crushclaw's were introduced into the game, giving us spectres with a 12x health multiplier. For a rough reference:

    Source Life Base Damage
    Gem Fire Damage - 1,187
    Average lvl 83 mob 24,242 1,454
    Primal Crushclaw 193,932 11,635

    That means that the actual damage being done by Detonate Dead's Corpse Explosion varies roughly from 20% to 980% more than what's listed in my PoB link, based on how often you can get Primal Crushclaw corpses to spawn. The 12x health multiplier is so high it actually skews Badger's spreadsheet away from selecting a second high health spectre for zones with any less than 6 or so types of corpses.

    How does this function in reality? I estimate somewhere around 3-5m DPS in normal map-like areas, and 10m+ DPS in boss arena's with small or non-existent corpse pools. A8 Baran, Al Hezmin, and Veritana were deleted with 2-3 seconds of the fight starting, and I suprisingly killed Drox in under 10 seconds or so, before he could even get any minions out. Overall it's now clearing content faster than my CoS GS Champion, which i'm pretty happy about.

    Some considerations for further optimization:

    • Getting a 21/23 Anomalous DD gem - doesn't exist on trade and i'm 0 for 2 on the altar so far. Would be over a 10% damage increase
    • Fitting a Transcendent Mind into the build - probably my next step after I scrounge up another 5ex
    • Running lab for a useful enchant on Eber's Unification - none exist on trade atm
    • Better rares - Gloves, amulet, and ring are just a hodgepodge of stuff i've found
    • ???

    I'd really appreciate any feedback/criticism on the build! I know i'm missing more that I could optimize; i'm hoping people here can help me push the build even further.

    Edit: Uploaded video here doing a pretty mellow T16 Hydra. The build kills him in around 3 seconds. I'll see about uploading some conquerors tomorrow!

    What were your favorite builds in 3.12, and why?

    For me, in order, I would have to say:

    1. Caustic Arrow/TR Trickster - just smooth and enjoyable relaxing gameplay that can do all content. Very SSF friendly.
    2. Bladefall/BB Assassin - I did both elemental and Poison; I liked Poison the most. Great screen FX and overall fun.
    3. Carrion Golem Elementalist - Relaxing, great DPS, a change from the normal Spectre Meta. Scales very well.
    4. Bleed Lacerate Block Gladiator - best Melee in the game that's non-facebreaker cyclone IMO. Fun, easy to level, scales well, and very SSF and HC friendly. I liked Lacerate more than EQ.

    What about everyone else?

    Looking into compiling some pro or otherwise tips that we've learnt over the last 12 months. I'll start with:

    -the Value of Mana as a defense / offense, particularly strong for Necro and Hiero, -Proliferation is a guaranteed quality of life upgrade where available -Dont underestimate taunts/decoy totems/meat shield - sometimes "don't get hit builds" outweigh "don't die to hits builds" Particularly if you want to push nasty content -Aurastackers are fucking broken

    Intro:
    I have always wanted to build a proper vacuum with actual dps, as have you, hence I am sharing my Vacuum cyclone boomer.

    This is NOT a league start build and will suck a lil to get going from the ground up but I will be doing this from the beginning of 3.13.

    All interactions in-between gems/gear/passive tree are tested!

    PoB (community):

    Main idea:
    For trash:
    Vacuum cyclone -> infernal cry -> discharge -> PROFIT

    (New) For bosses:
    Vaal Breach -> Vacuum cyclone -> infernal cry -> discharge -> HUGE BOOM ->PROFIT
    Vaal breach also lets us generate power and frenzy charges for bosses!!

    Gear:
    Gloves: Empire's grasp (revese knockback, (New) corrupted for ele weakness on hit)
    Body: Blunderbore (knockback on every hit) + the gull (synergy!, shrine bonuses, more life/aoe/)
    Rings: 2x Kaoms sing/way ( +2 endurance charges, can corrupt for AS, all res, %inc str, mana on hit)
    Amulet: Astramentis (I REALLY 'sniff' need these stats)
    Boots: Deaths door (corrupted with +1 endurance charge TOO EXPENSIVE/RARE
    (New) Boots: Gang's Momentum (corrupted for +1 endurance charge, increasing our ignite chance for bosses from 86% to 100%!, cheapo!)
    Belt: The Tactitian (can corrupt for All res, max life, inc %str)
    Weapon: The Searing Touch (our 6L + power charge/endurance charge generator(passive tree combo))
    (New) Weapon: Realm Ender (cheap 7L, power/endurance charge generator(passive tree combo))

    We will be using all equipment slots for uniques (I know right?)

    Gem setup:
    --Head (4L):
    Frostblink (we can move vaal cyclone with this)
    Anestral protector (attack speed)
    Blood rage (attack speed, frenzy)
    Summon Lightning Golem (attack speed)
    (New) Vaal Breach (this + vaal vaccum cyclone + infernal call + discharge is insane for bossing with no trashmobs around)

    --Body (5L + 1L RRBGG + R):
    Vaal cyclone + Inc AOE + Faster attacks + Fortify + Life gain on hit (great hp gain) (brrr)
    Infernal cry (boom)

    --Boots (2L +1L + 1L):
    Blasphemy + Flammability + Ele Weakness
    Blood and Sand (Sand stance = more aoe)
    (New) Skitterbots (got mana to reserve cos of empires grasp ele weakness corruption)

    --Gloves (4L) (Empire's Grasp):
    CWDT + Wave of conviction + Molten shell + Blade vortex (more knockback, socketed in Empires Grasp which gives knockback distance)

    --Weapon (6L BBBBRR):
    Discharge - Conc effect - Contr Destruction - Combustion - Cold to Fire - EmpowerLast link can be either Fire Pen, Iron Will, Efficacy or Empower(lv4 for endgame).
    (New) Discharge - Conc effect - Contr Destruction - Combustion - Fire Pen - Iron Will (Previously we had Empower lvl 4, this time it only gives us 80k Dps and i find it not worth the cost)

    Charge generation:
    Endurance = Juggernaut when hit (mobs hitting us all the time) + Smashing Strikes (tree)
    Frenzy = Blood rage
    Power = Power charge when blocked (tree) with 75% attack block and 20% spell block

    (New) Jewels:
    -2x Viridian with STR, max life, Mana gain on hit (can vaal for corrupted blood immunity)

    If we roll Mana gain on hit on Kaoms rings we can roll the jewels with resistances!

    (New) Flasks:
    -Cinderswallow
    -Quicksilver (Rolls: inc duration, inc ms)
    -Quartz (Rolls: inc duration, freeze removal)
    -Bismuth (Rolls: inc duration, inc res)
    -Divine Life (Rolls: instant, bleed removal)

    Depending on resist situation, we could swap the magic Bismuth Flask for The Wise Oak.

    Pros:
    -1M shaper dps (not counting power/frenzy charges/infernal cry).
    -2M shaper dps (we can count power/frenzy charges because of Vaal Breach, but still not counting infernal cry).
    -3M 3.2M trash dps (not counting infernal cry).
    -Boss 1 shot potential if it has mobs (We have mobs! Vaal breach + vacuum + infernal cry + discharge)
    -Tanky (high phys recution, max block(glancing), life gain on hit, 5-5.5k hp, stun immune, high MS).
    -99% of the mobs will be stuck to you like glue.
    -Fantastic AOE.
    -Amazing synergy from uniques/tree/gems.
    -I am the JUGGERNAUT *blank*.

    Cons:- Not insta capped res (could start engagements with Bismuth flask to get better res)This gets better because we plan to have 11 endurance charges up almost constantly.

    -Expensive (bad starter, all slots are uniques, build not meta so costs are not that high)We need 6L weapon, get corrupted boots with +1 endurance charges, need x3 golden oils for +1 curse with Astramentis.
    -Not very expensive but kinda demanding if you want to start the league with it. (Need uniques for all slots, x3 golden oils for curses, need a lot of levels to actually wear the build enabling chestpiece etc.)

    Possible improvements:
    The Gull with discharge enchant.

    TL:DR
    Step 1: Build go BRRRR
    Step 2: Build go BOOM
    Step 3: ??? (collect loot)
    Step 4: Profit

    Anybody got any MORE bright ideas/suggestions how to improve?

    Also what will be fastest way to level a shadow until act 3 before we switch to BF? Stormblast mines/Orb Of Storm or Caustic arrow/Toxic Rain?

    How's BL Mines feel post nerf?

    I remember when BL was nerfed in last league, people lost their minds after reading the patch notes, saying the skill is it was a 40% LESS damage nerf or something like that. Is this true? How's it feel? I've played Arc/Pyro mines several times before, but that's it for miners. Anyone who's played the mine skills can give some pros and cons to each? I'm interested in playing either BL or GC mines, but both seem to have slight drawbacks.

    For BL it seems like the single target is better/more consistent since you don't have to worry about placing the mines perfectly in order to hit the last cascade like with GC mines. But I've heard the clear with BL is not great (I think previously people were using tremor rod with Arc for clearing?). Is GC clear better than BL?

    When playing Arc Mine, Pyro for single target, I was evaporating conquerors with nothing more than a tremor rod and a 5L pyro in my chest. Day 1/2 of the league type stuff, no investment. They would nearly always die within 1 second of spawning. Is GC or BL comparable to this at all?

    I got

    3900 hp, 3000 mana, 500 mana regen, mind over matter

    I use arcane cloak + arcane surge anytime possible (so about half time)

    would this mod be worth it, and when?

    Odd question, but is there any way to sample builds?

    I know it's a long shot, but is there any way to sample builds before committing to them? I've tried numerous builds over the years, and none have really stuck or appealed to my play style. I just want to see if theres a way to give some builds a test without having to go through all 10 acts to work out a build isnt for me.

    Confused between two league starters

    I was looking into starting with ED/C or with Carrion Golems, and was confused which one will be easier to gear early, with good payouts. I was thinking ED/C due to smoothness in mapping and CG because ease of farming blighted maps early in the league. Tips appreciated.

    Thoughts on Glacial Cascade miners?

    Hey!

    I tinkered a bit with GC Sab last league but didn't get enough time to really sink my teeth into it. The skill looks awesome, but when I check on PoENinja it seems a lot of people switched into other skills for their miners (Ball lightning, blazing salvo etc,)

    So my question for Glacial Cascades for anyone that's played it, is how does it stack up endgame (Boss killing/red mapping) compared to other miners or league starters?

    Cold BV Assassin starter for 3.13 looking for criticism

    Fairly simple premise, assassin for lots of damage and herald of ice pops. It's not anything super innovative. While i'm not trying to make an auto-bomber, I do want packs to shatter pretty decently from herald of ice. I let myself have a good 2 mod item + crafted mod, which I think will be reasonable; might be a bit worse, but it should put me in a decent ballpark for damage estimates. Rest of the gear has mediocre life and low-medium resistance rolls, as all starters should expect. sDPS looks decent, 800k without flasks, and without popping VBV, and the only source of damage on gear is the weapon (and hrimsorrow).

    However, the Herald of Ice is only doing ~3500 dmg, with a 30% chance to crit, and I'd appreciate suggestions on how I should scale those numbers. I will eventually transition to using cluster jewels, but last league the jewels cost enough that I didn't really transition until ~yellow map. Which cluster nodes should I look out for to benefit this build? The ele leech as life stands out as one.

    For scaling Herald of Ice, I know circle of fear x2 is popular, but I'm personally a big fan of Shaper's mark ( and again, scaling BV is my primary damage source ). Pandemonius seems great, once I've got the cluster jewel giving leech and I've got a couple of exalts to burn.

    Laaaate game I'll probably want a shaper eclipse staff with power charge on crit support & more, and an explodey chest for complete pack annihilation. If you have suggestions for scaling into very late game I'm all ears.

    CI non cold dot builds?

    Hi, I'm a really bad player that has been playing for a very long time, and I have a soft spot for CI but after practicing levelling with cold dot I just can't stand the feel of the dot skills. I also abandoned my Ed contagion build last league because of the boss damage.

    What would y'all recommend for CI as someone who's not a fan of most dot builds?

    Tips for leveling Cyclone build, before getting Cyclone?

    So, one of the builds I'm considering making for the next league (assuming no nerfs) is Max Block Cyclone Gladiator. I've just made one on SSF to see how it goes but I can't think of a good skill to level till Cyclone (I'm not used to level melee characters). Can anyone suggest me/give some tips on a good way to level till 28 to get Cyclone?

    Someone on Global suggest me to use Perforate and other guy said to get Splitting Steel + Onslaugh + some extra damage support but I really have no idea.

    COC Nova assassin cdr?

    Anyone be willing to explain the mechanics behind coc ice nova? I'll preface by saying that i have done no research, I'm just planning out builds for next league, so trying to get more info. I've heard of how the aim is to get 52% cdr, but I'm not sure how this is achieved or what is exactly is the purpose, which is really what I want to know

    CI SSF

    Any good CI SSF builds? I'm going to be using some equipment from other characters, but I prefer not trading. I recently got the Shavronne's Pace unique (132% energy shield is the main one), so I need help finding / making a build that fits it.

    MF Duo Carry/Aurabot

    Hi,

    played a few leagues and also played some duo but had a long duo break and meta changed powercreep came and so on.

    My question is if a Penance Brand full mf Occultist with double curse does enough dmg with a aurabot to blaze through maps ?
    If not what duo combo would be meta ?

    The carry does not have to work outside of this combo since the penance boi i build does not aswell
    would appreciate some input from ppl who duomf aswell.

    ED/Contagion vs VD SS at league start

    I know patch notes are yet to come out and there could be some changes that make either of these options better and/or worse than the other.

    There are a few things I would like to know about both of these builds as I'm planning on doing one of them for league start but cannot choose which one as I haven't played any of them before:

    Which has a smoother levelling experience;

    Which is easier to gear (during story and maps);

    Which has better damage towards the endgame (and at which point they reach this potential if possible)

    I'm somewhat experienced in the game but always have a habit of picking a bad league starter so if anyone has any suggestions of other good starters, I'm all ears.
