Another post on RSI/Wrist pain - Can GGG PLEASE respond on roadmap for clicking improvements?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2021 08:19 AM PST

    Hi,

Just wanted to make another post on the topic of the amount of clicks required in the average PoE session.

I've personally ran into some health issues regarding this, but I wanted to shine a light on some recurring issues in the average POE play session that possibly attribute to a negative impact on player health.

This league more than ever, there is so much potential for crafting, loot explosions, and what not.

I think the community at large is overdue some kind of recognition, or response, from GGG not from a "Well I am Chris and this is my loot philosophy" standpoint but from an actual pragmatic standpoint on the amount of clicks the game requires.

There are several key offenders in the game in terms of sheer #clicks that I think could be improved:

    • Rolling items (e.g. fuse spam, alch/scour, etc)
    • Loot drops
    • Storing items (even with affinity, it still takes many clicks)
    • Trading bulk (stack size is too small for trades)

Many of these seem to have potential solutions, some of which have been suggested before, but never prioritized:

    1. Loot merging on the ground (e.g. all currency of a type merge into stacks). This would be a huge boon.

    2. A single button for "move all" from inven --> stash, that simulates ctrl+clicking each thing individually

    3. Default stack size of 100 for each currency. Update existing div cards and recipes/etc for balance

    4. Stacking support for fragments, scarabs, etc

I would love to get a response on this topic, as I love PoE, but I think this particular aspect of the game (moreso than balance or bug fixing) has been neglected a bit too long without a manifesto or roadmap.

I would also like to use the OP to respond to a common point about "weight" -

What devalues items more - people being able to pick up a stack of chromatic orbs with a single click, or people who exploit beast imprinting rare watchstones or people abusing harbinger currency shard farming?

The philosophy of "weight" held more when the quote was made, back when the game was a lot slower paced and about 1000% less items dropped with less exploits for the top earners to utilize

*Edit - clarified the post a bit. I am not blaming GGG for my wrist issues, I am getting old and I get that.

I am just trying to see if there is any sort of roadmap for click improvements coming to some of these existing play session workflows that haven't been changed in a long time.

*Edit 2: people are down voting all my responses in the thread. Apologies that this isn't a random shitpost or item showcase.

For those people crashing all the time + for GGG devs who might not have caught onto this yet

    Posted: 29 Jan 2021 04:43 AM PST

I've posted this yesterday but can now 100% confirm it.

I always crash when I'm in an area that is "outside". People's hideouts that are outside, maps that are outside. Even maps where there is an outdoors and an indoor. But where do I not crash? Indoor hideouts, indoor maps, delve. I've done like 8 hours of mapping/delve yesterday picking indoor maps only and not had a single crash. Then accidentally picked an outside map (I'm still a new player) and crashed within 2 mins each time.

It also seems that maps that have an indoor "transitional" area (burial chambers) also crash, don't know how that's related - maybe the game pre-loads the outside or something but I tested it by staying indoors there without moving and still crashed eventually by just standing still.

Anyway, hope this somewhat helps people at least play the game to an extent.

/u/CirrrcleBiter has posted a fix, I just tested it and ran two outside maps without a single crash! Worth having a go. Performance does suffer a little though but we're talking like proper juiced maps there.

Simply - disabled SMT in Bios. If you're crashing on an Intel CPU then perhaps try disabling HyperThreading

P.S - I've tried this that was suggested in my last post, it made no difference: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/l65xzv/january_windows_10_update_kb4598242_is_causing/

P.P.S - For GGG, my specs are:

Shoutout to the GGG support team. For years GGG's customer support has been top notch, especially compared to most customer support teams, and I think they deserve huge props and lots of appreciation.

    Posted: 29 Jan 2021 09:15 AM PST

I've never had a negative experience with GGG support, and it's been extremely consistent in all my years of playing. No game dev company has ever offered such quick and reliable support, so I wanted to take a minute to appreciate them.

Thanks GGG Support and stay amazing :)

[PSA/BUG] Jun doesn’t open the portals to safehouses inside of maps anymore, and it makes you lose all your info of that specific safehouse

    Posted: 29 Jan 2021 06:45 AM PST

    Basically title.

I noticed that Jun doesn't open her portals around her anymore while in HO, but I thought that we wouldn't be able to click the safehouse button inside of maps.

    Oh, boy. Was I wrong…

Lost all my information of the research safehouse and the portals didn't open.

    Lightee on harvest working correctly

    Posted: 29 Jan 2021 03:24 AM PST

if you map like lightee, how likely is it to not get harvest for 9 hours (twice)?

my ssf experience: if you can play the game "only" 4 hours a day, harvest doesnt exist. i mean you get it every other day but the strength of harvest to plan a craft and then go through it step by step doesnt exist. all you do is collecting bases that you never use.
