    Need input, drawing a blank!

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 12:34 AM PST

    Heya!

I am looking for a build to farm my way up to the 36 challenges, I like many other am a serial re-roller, I got all my chars up to high 80's early 90's but none has stuck with me, they dont really spark the fire so to say.

I would love a tanky (emphasis on tanky) bow character, preferably a build I can test out with a cheap weapon before deciding to invest fully if at all possible. It doesnt have to be facetank sirus' beam kind of tanky but I do need to have a little safety net as Im not too familiar with all endgame bosses. I saw some frenzy stacking raider shenanigans or some bleed bow builds that look somewhat tanky.

Im not a huge fan of 2-button builds, I played it quite alot the previous league so I would love something new, same with golems, not really that big fan.

I was also thinking about mathil's chieftain cycloner but not really sure how that one would fare but its a possility.

Also any builds with a guide attached to them are very welcomed.

The new jack the axe on eq bleed glad

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 04:30 PM PST

Isn't this axe a beast of a weapon for bleed builds now? It has high dot multi, decent Phys damage and for 10% of your life (might be a big deal for HC players, I agree) it gives 20% more bleed damage and 400hp/s for every bleeding enemy near (dots are something I struggle with on this build, so it helps a bit). I compared its damage to some multiple exalts bleed axes on trade and Jack always had the best damage. I'm curious to hear you guys' opinions

    3H BV Ascendant?

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 02:54 AM PST

    Hey folks,

I've gotten a bit bored of my first character and I miss seeing my Herald MTX exploding all over the screen, so I wanted to theorycraft a semi-viable Triple Herald BV build again. Since Elementalist got nerfed, I opted for Ascendant, mostly because I haven't played one yet and it allows for greater build flexibility.

What made the Elementalist Triple Herald great was the ascendancy combined with physical damage conversion. However, I am unsure about how the damage conversion scales with, for example, physical or elemental damage increases.

I believe that increases to physical damage also apply after the converted damage, so if I have [[Hrimsorrow, Goathide Gloves]] and Phys to Lightning Support, hitting for 100 physical damage pre-conversion, I would deal 50 physical, 25 lightning and 25 cold damage, which would all increase based on my physical damage increases, and the elemental damage would also increase based on my elemental damage.

If I then have two nodes, one granting 10% physical damage and one granting 10% elemental damage, applying the physical damage, would I do 110 total, (55 phys + 27.5 lightning + 27.5 cold)? And then the elemental damage both are increased by 10%, so two instances of 30.5 damage? (Ignoring the added damage for convenience).

The other part I am unsure about (mostly due to a lack of knowledge - I haven't played the game all that long, and this is my first time trying my own build) are my ascendancies. I initially wanted to include Slayer for the life leech and phys reflect immunity, but since the leech only works on attacks which BV isn't (I originally wanted to use Static Strike, but I prefer the zoom-zoom playstyle of BV) this doesn't seem ideal.

Synergy-wise, Trickster/Raider seems really good, but I'm not sure if Ignite counts for the extra recovery, and I would need to invest a lot into defenses on the tree and in gear, which might mean I end up lacking in damage anyway.

I'm unsure of how to end the post, but I am mostly interested in feedback - do you think a 3H BV Trickster/Raider is end-game viable on a limited (~10ex) budget? How would you manage defenses?

    Thanks for reading my rambling,

    Boogy

Unsure of what next for my Aura Stacking CI Golem Necro?!

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 02:50 AM PST

    Hi all!

I would really appreciate some recommendations on what to do next to push out more in this build. I've thought about a few things 1) changing the saqawal's nest to for corrupted +1 socketed and 2) possibly an amulet which holds mana reserve, +1 intelligence gems AND an additional granting of vitality so I can fit an additional ass curse into my gear.

I've also been thinking to replace my watcher's eye with a higher tiered one but I'm not sure what mods I should actually go for since I have many options to choose from (10+ auras).

    Here is my pastebin: https://pastebin.com/0heT61yN

Any help is suppppper appreciated! Thanks <3

    CoC Assassin minimum budget?

    Posted: 10 Feb 2021 02:02 AM PST

I was looking to make a CoC assassin build as I had a level 90 assassin laying around, but was confused why everyone says to get it working properly I need to have a lot of investment into it. I'm unable to understand which items are needed and are costly. Is a Life version of it viable with a carcass jack? Or do I need to go LL on it with a shavs? I already bought 2 cospris, but I guess that's a very offensive option, instead of getting a shield as well. Help appreciated, I have 10ex to spend on it currently, but can farm more currency easily.

(HELP) Build suggestion basing around Two-Handed sword

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 07:35 PM PST

Invested quite a bit on a sword its around 800+ pdps and a watchers eye with Pride Double damage and precision atk speed. Running with cyclone slayer. Typical Impale cyclone but not using Abyssus.

I have been clearing all the content but it dies a lot. I'm using the fortify helmet together with some fortify nodes. Can clear end game content but dying a lot just feels bad.(level 94) Any other builds you guys can suggest beside Cyclone or sweep? Any off meta ascendancy I can try?

Here's my POB just in case you can point out any wrong sht I did on the build. https://pastebin.com/NqcsMN5P

Roast my theorycrafted RF/Cyclone Elementalist build (and help make it better!)

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 12:43 PM PST

Hey guys! So I've asked a couple questions around RF builds lately on this sub, and I've received a bunch of helpful responses that have helped me to build something of my own. Disclaimer right at the top: I'm not a veteran at this game at all, and it's quite possible this build is stupid. But, I figured I'd put it out there and see if there's anything here. Let me know what you guys think!

    ---------------------------------------------------------

So let's start with the crazy things to draw your attention before we get started. What if I told you, that with really minimal investment, we could theoretically get a build using RF and Cyclone that:

    - Makes enemies bleed AND ignites them at the same time
    - Makes them explode and proliferate ignites and bleeds everywhere, double-dipping DOT damage and clearing screens fast
    - Has a passive 72% increased Area of Effect without any gear
    - Naturally pretty tanky because of golems, immunity to elemental reflect, a 2200 life barrier from Bastion of Elements, and a ton of regen because you're using RF

    - Benefits fully from EE and EO with extremely minimal effort
    - Still fine on bosses because of Flame wall, Vaal RF, flammability, and crimson dance stacking 8 times

Well, if that caught your attention, strap in for something I hope isn't too underwhelming. :D

    -----------------------------------------------------------

Here's the passive tree I had in mind, and I'm pretty much 100% confident it isn't optimized. It's not in POB yet - I'll be putting it there tonight to get a sense of the real damage output we're talking about.

    Here's the core elements/combo:

    - Shaper of Flames means that all of your hits, _regardless of type_, ignite. That includes straight physical damage. This means that physical damage would therefore have the ability to proc both bleeds AND ignites.

    - That means that you can use a skill like cyclone, with a purely physical weapon, add a tiny bit of lightning/cold damage added to hits on a ring or something, and you can be triggering EE constantly for things that *are not* fire, thus dropping the need to run something like an orb of storms, etc, all the while triggering meaty ignites which *do not* count as hits, which then benefits from EE.

    - Combine that fact with Haemophilia. Since you're primarily doing hits with physical, and speccing into a bunch of bleed nodes, and you have a few things happening. First, you have a **global** damage over time bonus with those gloves, which affects RF, ignites, and bleeds. It also makes it so that your damage is up by 40% against bleeding targets, which is all targets. Finally, it also makes enemies explode on death if they're bleeding, which again is everything. Yes, we could use a crusader chest for this, but NOT having to do that frees up the chest slot of lots of other interesting things - carcass jack, kaom's heart, or just a really optimized rare chest.

    - Explosions on death are secondary damage, so they don't benefit from being a `hit`. But they do scale with area damage, which you have *at least* a 70% bonus to, meaning lots of overlapping explosions. If you get a cluster jewel with fan the flames, even better.

    - For the weapon - why sceptres? Because things like this exist. + ele damage, big increase to physical damage, crucially doesn't add fire damage to cyclone (you put your flame wall in this weapon), and allows you to have a shield for extra defenses and extra stats. Doryani's Catalyst might be the better option, or again, maybe just a super juiced/optimized rare. But the take-home is that there's plenty of sceptres out there that can give us physical damage, elemental/fire damage, and _not_ add in fire damage to its attacks.

    - Since you're constantly channeling cyclone, you can use fortify support on it, plus also cast on channeling support with your favorite curse - probably vulnerability here, or maybe flammability.

    - For bosses, you can weave in flame wall, which takes advantage of all of your stuff, and you can fix the EE on it immediately by cycloning again.

    - PS, don't forget, you're running 4 golems with the golem acendency traits. That means a lot of extra regen and damage, plus whichever other ones you want to add in.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

That's the gist of it. There's other stuff that can fit in, of course - I haven't detailed things like defensive auras or offensive ones - I imagine malevolence is in there, and you're probably using enduring cry as an emergency button - maybe steelskin.

I would probably pump movement speed and life/regen on the regular gear as best as I could here, and just focus on defenses, since I think the tree as-is is going to give plenty of damage.

What do you guys think? This isn't field-tested, so it's just theorycraft for now, but I'll likely start working on this build tonight in-game - I have basically everything I need to get it going, and my current elementalist is pretty much ready to convert to this, with not too many orbs of regret.

Is there ANY way to make Spirit Guards work?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 11:07 PM PST

I have been trying to play all of the different niche minion archetypes and one I still haven't gotten into is Animate Weapon. I recently spent about an hour trying to see if there's a way to automate summoning Ranged Animate Weapons with Spirit Guards, the threshold jewel, but from my testing nothing was working.

Am I missing something or is Spirit Guards basically useless? With a base duration of 40s and no way to get the bows/wands back, you can't actually put effort into crafting good items to use, and you can't rely on dropping IDENTIFIED ranged weapons without some serious lootfilter shenanigans and some luck.

Is there ANY way to make this jewel usable?

Why is Earthquake Played so Much?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 04:32 PM PST

Why is Earthquake the preferred melee bleed skill over Lacerate?

It's by far the most played skill in Hardcore.

And why are those the best two options?

    Sub Meta: Sticky Threads?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 05:03 AM PST

I hang on the sub quite a lot, and it seems to me like a lot of threads could be condensed into sticky threads.

An example: daily questions about how Toxic Rain works, upgrade progression for various popular builds, how to scale CoC Ice Nova, etc etc.

Might it be an idea to have one sticky thread for uptodate resources (such as links to forum guides on popular builds and skills) and one for common, easy-to-fix questions (such as "what to upgrade next" or "looking for build using x")?

Imo the sub would be a lot nicer to read with more room for build showcases, guides and stuff of that nature, and fewer repeat questions.

    General Cry Minion questions

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 09:00 PM PST

    Hello,

I had some questions about some general cry minion interactions.

    1. Do general cry's minion "inherit" your charges and their benefits? For example when I warcry with power charges up, would my general cry minions inherit the increased critical chance?
    2. How does provocateur interact with the minions? Will they have increased crit multi as well or just me?

Want to try CoC assassin but gear looks so expensive

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 07:20 PM PST

Been wanting to try out a CoC assassin for some time and have a few of the pieces to start a low life build (shave, prism guardian, chayula), what is the minimum life and energy shield to shoot for and not get blasted constantly? I don't want to drop a ton of ex on gear if it's out of my budget, I play in standard so if anyone has some gear i could borrow I can give some ex as collateral

High vitals and I still get almost one-shot, what am I doing wrong?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 03:20 PM PST

I am playing Crackling Lance Inquisitor this league and despite heavily investing into survivability, I still struggle with all endgame content a lot. Sirus one-beams me with his death beam (well, that one is obvious), Eternal Lab Izaro one-bumps me into the ground (if he manages to hit me), I can barely survive in Simulacrum wave 15 and later and usually start dying at around wave 18. I feel like I am not doing the right thing but I also don't see how I can add more defensive layers to my build. If someone has feedback and suggestions to make this build viable for endgame content, they would be very much appreciated!
