    It's been nearly 2 years since my last post about this topic. So I wanted to bring it up again.

    After that post the topic made its way into the GGG offices and was later discussed on baeclast and that was 560 days or 5 leagues ago.


    First off all, I am sure GGG and the community can agree that the current flask system is dated.

    Second, I am aware that GGG is or at least was looking into solutions for the dated flask system.

    But I am tired of waiting. You can take all your time to properly rework the flask system into what you envision fits PoE. PoE 2 (or 3 or 4) will fix it...

    Give us any sort of temporary improvement or relief now (or asap)

    The most obvious things you can do is allow us to bind multiple flasks to the same hotkey, as I mentioned in my original post. That is already possible on the chinese client. Yes I am aware that you can write yourself a macro that exactly allows you to do that.

    Another idea is to count overflowing flask charges and translate those to additional duration. That way you press your duration flasks once, and as long as you continue to accumulate 40 (or however many charges your flask needs) for another use on your already fully filled up flask, you will gain the additional duration from those 40 "flask overflow charges". That way you could press a flask once at the start of a breach stone encounter and essentially cruise to the end without ever pressing that flask again.

    Again, these are temporary improvements until we actually get a flask revamp.

    Can we get "disable rendering items on the ground" as item filter option?

    Having such option as parameter in item filter allows us to still render valuable items on the ground while disabling everything we already didn't want to pick. This change would not affect new or casual players who doesn't overflow in items, causing performance issues. And for rest it will be massive fps upgrade.

    Win, win situation.

    Of course it's depends on "is there technology" yet.

    Has GGG failed at what they see as PoE’s core design?

    In the manifesto, GGG has said that "At its core, Path of Exile is a game about the acquisition of powerful items".

    However, I propose that item acquisition in Path of Exile sucks. Think about it:

    · Try to play without a loot filter. You will be showered by so much trash that the game becomes almost unplayable. GGG allows the usage of loot filers, but it does not provide them – which means, the most basic form of item acquisition, getting drops from monsters, requires looking outside the game to be fixed (and to be useable at all).

    · Try to trade for something without using any resource outside the game. You'll almost certainly fail. Trade, arguably the second most basic form of item acquisition in the game, is so broken that it requires looking outside the game for it to work.

    · Try to craft something. Spend hours looking for Exalted Orbs and Orbs of Annulment. Then enjoy the "feeling of closing your eyes and Exalting an item" multiple times. You'll likely end with a trash item, and find that all those hours were basically wasted. Crafting, as GGG sees it, is inherently flawed because it's stacked against the players and we all know it. No one blindly Exalts an item – either they're used for trading, or for one of the deterministic ways to craft we have in PoE.

    So getting drops from monsters, trading and crafting – the main ways we have to get items – are inherently and deeply flawed. If GGG thinks PoE is basically about acquiring items, looks like they have failed in their designs.

    (Notice that none of this is about "let's get mirror-tier items after playing two hours". This is not about how fast item acquisition works – rather, about how item acquisition works.)

    Instead of trying to solve those issues, GGG has been relying on the community to alleviate them, all the while patting themselves in the back over how successful their designs are. They need to wake up and realize that the systems they have created are in urgent need of a rework, and that nobody uses them as they think players do.
