Looking for good guides for duo league start - carry + aurabot Posted: 10 Apr 2021 08:22 PM PDT Hiya - I'm wanting to try a duo league start for the first time, I'm assuming the best combo for that is carry + aurabot but if not, let me know. If you have any good guides or tips for which builds to research, I'd love to hear. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Apr 2021 05:34 PM PDT I'm looking at going for HoA next league. I know that Juggernaut is the usual choice. But I'm considering the options. I'd love to hear from people who have played it what the pros and cons are of going Jugg vs Raider vs Guardian vs Glad etc. I know we don't have the 3.14 patch notes yet, however it doesn't seem likely that HoA is going to get touched since it hasn't been meta for a while. New Skill Support Gems from the developer commentary Posted: 10 Apr 2021 06:38 AM PDT Dev commentary is this one: Path of Exile Announcement Stream (April 2021) - YouTube Reap at 41:15 (during the Ritual display): supported by Added Fire Damage, Fire Penetration, Elemental Focus, Controlled Destruction, and Spell Cascade. IIRC most Spell Cascade repeats are simultaneous; there appears to be a sequential delay when Reap is supported by Spell Cascade as the scythes appear one after another, further away from the caster. But notably, even with SC support, the AoE appears pretty huge. Exsanguinate at 41:58: supported by Brutality, (maybe Cruelty? Letter is Y with no equivalence in the current support list), Chain, Controlled Destruction, and what looks like Efficacy. Unfortunately, this is a single-target fight so the effect of Chain isn't immediately obvious. There is a better later display in the mobbing scenario where basically everything in a line behind the primary target dies. Petrified Blood at 43:27: not in the main skill bar. Corrupting Fever at 43:57: Assuming that this is in the M3 slot, Unbound Ailments? Can't make out the other one (EDIT: Probably Second Wind and Increased Duration, credit to jFr0st). The later display of Exsanguinate and Reap appear to match the earlier displays. If I've missed anything please chime in. Based on the supports we've seen so far, that looks pretty dope for Reap, since we can expect an even larger AoE once we remove Spell Cascade, and there seems to be a unique delayed repeat mechanism for Reap when combined with Spell Cascade. Looking for feedback amongst four builds I'm considering next league Posted: 10 Apr 2021 04:46 PM PDT After research I am down to the following four builds that sound like fun for something new I haven't tried yet.
Have any of you played each of these and would you be willing to comment on the:

Posted: 10 Apr 2021 07:05 PM PDT Hello fellow PoB warriors, the new league is about to start, so Im kinda getting excited and anxious at the same time, the reason of that is my lack of ingame knowledge. During the ritual league, I started as ED/Cont trickster, reached red maps and gave up on my character, because it was my first league, I didnt know what to do after hitting the wall of red maps, and didnt have currency to reroll. So I took a break from the game, found a good minion guide (carrion elementalist by Tbxie), asked guys on discord about ways to make currency, and everything was awesome since then. But I dont want to repeat my failure of starting with ED/Cont this time, so I decided to ask you guys about a good minion build that you can recommend me. Good bossing is top priority for me, clear speed is not so much. I plan to start on day 1, so the build needs to function well without jewels or uniques (except the ones that I can target farm). I will use this character for week 1 currency farming, mainly in heists, if it matters. Thanks in advance! And if you dont have an answer to my question, good luck with a next league anyway, exiles! My BFBB Raider, "100m dps" - spellcasting Raider template Posted: 11 Apr 2021 01:52 AM PDT PoB: https://pastebin.com/hPNeAvgz This is my single char from Ritual which helped me doing everything (40 challenges etc). Put all my currency in it, but have no clue how much that was (maybe 150-200 Ex) and if I spent it well. I crafted all the gear by myself, but won't go too deep into that, since I did a lot of mistakes and the Harvest changes will render some of it useless. Just one recipe, which should work in future: Some concepts: Why Raider? It's nice to have Frenzy and Onslaught for free and also the opportunity to max Dodge without Vaal Grace. The starting position basically leads to a crit spellcaster, since you will cross the Assassin area. There is also an esy option to convert to cold damage (Winter Spirit), which was my first idea (hence the char name). If you convert all damage to elemental, Avatar of the Veil will probably be the better choice than ... Chase. But you can also add exposure via the trigger weapon. Mana sustain: it requires the chest craft to have a large enough ES pool, also map mods with reduced ES gain will hurt (but not wreck everything), but on the other side allows you to reserve all you mana. I used an Enduring Mana Flask (and no Herald) until that worked. Life sustain: there are other options for life leech, but the Watcher's Eye was the easiest one. Also life gain on spell hit is really great, I added to that with the crafted ring. Trigger spells: since BF/BB requires 2 casts anyways, that seemed a very easy way to distribute a curse and also throw around some extra blades to explode. Other defenses: going for Evasion probably wasn't the best idea and I ended up with a quite low value. Since even 7k life isn't plenty without damage reduction, I made the questionable choice to use Whirling Blades with Fortify Support (attack speed is quite nice as Raider). I died only like 350-400 times, had worse characters ;-) Getting dps: since the tree doesn't have too much increased spell/physical damage, it's important to add to that on items. That's why I crafted this shield and use Mark of the Shaper. Cast speed isn't as important since you already have a lot of it. Unholy Might (crit cluster jewel) is great. Feel free to ask questions or improve on the concept. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Apr 2021 01:02 AM PDT What's the tankiest brand or miner builds that can be used as a league starter/bosser/etc.? I don't care if it takes longer to level than other builds, but would like to start and end league with one build and do all I can with it. Always liked the brand playstyle, but also heard good things about miners (haven't played one). Links to guides or PoB? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Apr 2021 06:28 AM PDT Like many others, I'm really excited for the upcoming reap skill and plan to start with it. I plan to go Necro and use spiritual aid for the minion damage. My understanding is the increased minion damage is the same as regular %incr dmg so It should apply to both the hit and dot for the skill, double dipping the damage, and will be cheaper than phys damage over time stacking, since I'm guessing due to the popularity it'll be very expensive. Utilizing kitavas teachings and corpse consumption nodes should provide all the sustain we need. Any thoughts on this plan? Ideally I'd use either cold iron point or a high end convoking wand and a shield with GB [link] [comments] |
Advice for my build regarding single target damage. Posted: 11 Apr 2021 12:10 AM PDT Heyo, just looking for some input on my current SSF build, and perhaps some guidance on how I can deal more single target damage. I don't have much trouble clearing maps, in fact pretty easily reaching tier 9-10, however bosses are quite slow. I know a good six link chest and bow would do me very well (i've been using 4 links in yellow maps until about 5 minutes ago lmao), however obtaining a 6 link is easier said than done. I was just able just hit 5 links on my chest, but it cost about 60 fusings. Is there anything i can do to increase my single target dps output, or just anything i could do to make my build a bit more optimized besides getting 6 links? Would farming tabula at this point even be worth it? The pierce from the lioneye chest seems like a lot to give up though. My current build: https://pastebin.com/cCU5XN6a Any advice for my build or optimizations you would make would be greatly appreciated, thanks :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Apr 2021 06:02 PM PDT Hello everyone, i m looking for cyclone alternatives, be it CoC or summon skeletons, as long as it uses cyclone. Don't care about league start viability, just want something different than boring old cyclone impale. Example: Chaos Skeletons Cyclone Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
Can someone take a look at some bare bones stuff I have for 90 rage berzerker? Posted: 10 Apr 2021 11:21 PM PDT What problems do you forsee with this? Basically this whole set up is set for sustaining max rage with the occasional popping of Berzerk to get even more damage for bosses and what not. I plan on adding in the new cruelty support gem instead of fortify on EQ links. attack pattern during mapping would be something to the effect of this. 1- leap slam to stun enemies and vuln them 2- intimidating cry or seismic cry to exert attacks, the average damage numbers in the warcry config dont really reflect the damage output i feel but this is what i need some clarification on. 3- slam away. 4- add leap slams/cry's when needed to refresh buffs and keep on keeping on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your time. [link] [comments] |
Guardian or Necro Summoner Leaguestart Posted: 10 Apr 2021 01:58 PM PDT Every League i started as a Necro Summoner but in Ritual i didnt like the Necro builds. As Spectre summoner i felt a bit squishy, i dont like SO Spectres and Crabs are really slow in mapping. I played Carrion Golems in Heist and dont wanted to play them in Ritual. After the Trailers for 3.14 Ultimatum i want to start as a summoner and was thinking about doing a Guardian summoner. I am going to test one next week to see if it gives me what i want. I want some more focus on map clearing instead of bossing but i want to be a bit tanky to survive some mistakes when i do the Conquerors and the first Maven invites for my atlas Progression. I'm a bit of a casual player and like it if it is a bit lazy. What are the differences between Necro and Guardian and what are some good Guardian summoner Builds for League start? Or what can i play as Necro if i dont want to play Carrion/SO Spectres/SRS? I know there are no patchnotes out yet, but i want to practice my League start a bit so i dont need a week to do the story when i am playing 1-2h a day [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Apr 2021 03:54 PM PDT Hey guys, so I've been wanting to try out spellslinger volatile dead but I don't really know if it's a good league starter as I can seem to find a bossing video with that build. So a question for people who have used it, can you "confortably" progress through the game/atlas killing sirus and all that on a pretty simple build as it would be in league start? Or is it not a good league starter? Thanks to everyone reading this :) [link] [comments] |
LF new minion/summon build (player with carpal tunnel) Posted: 10 Apr 2021 12:05 PM PDT I stopped playing poe few days after harvest release, and new expansion seems super cool. I play new minion build for each league and so far i played
Builds i stopped playing in middle of league
Looking for any new minion/summon build for player with carpal tunnel . Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Apr 2021 12:15 PM PDT So im not very familiar with melee skills and gearing, but last league i enjoyed playing a facebreaker gladiator and i really liked it. The things i didnt like were very strict items needed for gearing and the very low chaos resistance. I know the patch notes are not up yet but i was hoping to get insights on a few builds and help narrow it down, i was thinking 2handed champ or slayer cyclone or sunder glad. I was also unsure of cyclone or lacerate or bleed EQ. Im looking to put a bunch of time into it and maybe go for my first 100. So yeah the three skills im looking at are cyclone, lacerate, EQ and im not sure which subclass works best for each skill. Thank you for any information or personal preferences! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Apr 2021 02:13 PM PDT I am trying my hand at creating my own build, this is what I came up with. However I think it can be optimized. In terms of changes it will undergo, the blood magic on the flesh and stone will become arrogance. The supports for earthquake shouldn't change except for the addition of either bloodthirst or cruelty, depending which does more damage. I might also change pulverise or some other support to lifeblood, for the health spent. Any help optimizing it would be appreciated! I will also be taking petrified blood, once that is added to the skill tree. https://pastebin.com/faWEXRZg [link] [comments] |
Bleed bow Glad for Ultimatum League start? Posted: 10 Apr 2021 11:56 AM PDT Do you think this will be a good build to league start in Ultimatum. How do you think it will fair in the trials for wave clear and survivability? [link] [comments] |
Lacerate vs Bow bleed gladiator? Posted: 10 Apr 2021 11:42 AM PDT I want to pick a league starter that is in a position to take advantage of the new skills like the corrupting blood one and reap, but also want a solid fall-back plan if they underperform. How do you size up lacerate vs bleed bow? From what I can tell, lacerate looks clunkier, but might combo better with some of the new stuff. It can also wear a shield so it is probably tankier (good for me being dumb with ultimatums). Bleed bow seems like higher damage and clear speed. Anything I am missing? [link] [comments] |
Ultimatum starter build - basic crafting? Posted: 10 Apr 2021 01:43 PM PDT I'm an average player and started playing in harvest league. I understand how the skill works but when it comes to crafting items that's where I'm lacking. I usually just buy items I need when I have the currency, already tried craft of exile but no luck getting good pre/suffixes. What's the easiest way or at least a better way to make crafted items that can last until t16 maps? Also, thinking of getting reap build, but not sure if glad is good for the skill. Any thoughts would help. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Apr 2021 01:27 PM PDT Hello! I watched ziz's HCSSF league at the end of 3.13 and a lot of the top players were running "Slam" melee builds to weather the uber mobs in the league and this has gotten me interested in them as an option to run a tankier build for the upcoming league. I was wondering if someone could flesh out more of what a slam build is, what ascendancies people run with them, what the main skill gems are or even better if someone could drop me a POB link for one I could peek at. Thanks :) [link] [comments] |
Any non-archmage ball lightning builds? Posted: 10 Apr 2021 11:07 AM PDT Last league I played with archmage ball lightning. While damage was great. I HATE THIS MANA RECOVERY PROBLEMS. Is there any good non-archmage ball lightning build? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Apr 2021 06:07 AM PDT The first time I read about Reap, I immediately thought of BV. I've seen a bunch of ideas for builds with Reap, but I haven't seen anything about combining these two. Here are some of my ideas/thoughts, but I'm definitely not an expert so if I'm wrong on some things, please correct me. There are many things that benefit both of the skills:
After scaling these as high as possible comes the next step: BV naturaly scales well with crit, while Reap scales DoT. Unfortunately, one thing BV can't do is to do physical DoT on it's own, however, there is something BV is definitely good at: Poison! Which happens to scale with phys DoT! So the build in the end would pretty much be a Poison BV (most likely Assassin), which focuses on scaling Phys instead of Chaos, enhanced with Reap for additional single target damage. This could be done in various ways, we'll have to see how Reap scales best:
Is Reap's DoT an Ailment? I haven't been able to find anything about it, but if it is, that means that it would also deal 150% damage from crits and that it would benefit from Perfect Agony, which sounds OP to say the leasts. In case Reap's DoT isn't an Ailment, some of the melee ascendancies could also work well with a build like this, mainly focusing on Reap. This would come at the expense of poison, but to be honest, even a 60% strength poison BV is good enough to breeze through T16s. I think something like this would definitely work, but I'm not sure if this would be worth it over just doing a regular Poison BV Assassin, especially when it comes to bossing. What do you think?
