While it's definitely good that they can be toggled off, the POE2 audio callouts (Armor Piercing Bolt!) are a huge value add from an accessibility standpoint.

    Posted: 10 Apr 2021 02:41 AM PDT

Some people are colourblind. Other people are not colourblind, but have a hard time tracking game state information when there's a lot of visual clutter on the screen. Still other people have a natural preference for receiving some information audibly rather than visually.

Whether or not this was part of GGG's intent when they were added, the audio callouts demonstrated in the latest POE2 gameplay video provide HUGE value for a lot of people. Deliberately or not, GGG has taken a step in the right direction towards general accessibility by adding these. This is really encouraging to see (or in this case, hear!) especially after months and years of reddit posts have come and gone asking for more accessibility features.

That said, audio callouts are not a complete solution even if they are added for each and every ability press and game state change. It would still be a big plus if GGG could find the development cycles to implement some palette shifts for colourblind folks and/or other common accessibility features. I would really like to see more of these sorts of features and improvements in the future, but I'm grateful for what we are getting: information delivered audibly AS WELL AS visually with a toggle for those who don't prefer to hear the voice lines over and over again.

    Posted: 10 Apr 2021 04:14 AM PDT

You always need to be careful when starting with new skills, as no matter how much people theorycraft, noone knows how exactly they are gonna function. If you really want to start with it, I'd recommend an ascendancy that can easily be converted to another build you'd want to play.

I think I discovered a new vendor recipe

    Posted: 09 Apr 2021 11:42 PM PDT

Not a great one but I couldn't find a reference to it anywhere.

40% total catalyst quality returns a catalyst of that type.

    Imgur

Didn't see it on the wiki, poedb, or anywhere else. It clearly is an extension of the other quality recipes so it makes sense.

EDIT: So it appears that on a magic, rare, or unique item you need 40% and on a white 20%. I discovered this while cleaning out my stash in standard and I had tried making some big bucks solstice vigils in heist league for a self curse temp chains occy.

Announcing Extortion League || A "group self found", casual, private league event! New and Solo players welcome!

    Posted: 10 Apr 2021 09:08 AM PDT

TLDR: We want more people to play and hang out with over poe. We also run a private league, guild, discord server, and contests with point prizes within the private league. New/Casual players are welcome and have a fair shot at some winnings in the contests! We don't bite :).

    Discord Server

    Trailer

If you'd like a change of pace to avoid burnout or If you're someone who would like to improve your game knowledge and want a space to ask questions, or even if you're a solo player looking for a group of friends, consider joining our discord server!

We have an active discord during each league and are all good friends that come reunite each league. We also implement a 2-step joining process for the private league to ensure there are no bots.

New players are encouraged to join as well, we have dedicated mentors that can provide one-on-one counseling in case you are overwhelmed by everything this game has to throw at you.We also have approval from GGG to run contests again this league for players in our private league. We have a "Build of the League" contest and a raffle based on character level, more details in our discord server. These contests are only semi-competitive and are designed so that the casual/new player has a fair chance of winning something without being in the top 1% of performers.

At the end of the day, PoE is more fun with friends. Whether or not you want to come for the prizes or if you just like having a laid-back, non-toxic group of friends to hang out with, we welcome everyone.

We also made a trailer! You're a boomer like me if you remember this song lol.

Currency tips for all player, neither atlas setup nor build dependent.

    Posted: 10 Apr 2021 08:40 AM PDT

Hello ! I saw a post earlier stating that most player don't have build worth more than an exalt and here is some tips I use everyday to make more currency. With a total of 7 days playtime (more than most players but it's about 2 to 3 hours a day in a league) I made a 300+ exalts build. Also my first headhunter this season was done doing only tips #14 on this list. I hope it will help some peoples ! Feel free to add some more or correct me if you think I'm wrong.

    1. Setup an offhand weapon with 6 socket and level gems in it. When they reach 20/0%, vendor them with a GCP to get them to 1/20%. Level them again and you can sell them for ~40c each depending on the gem. I'm doing this with the berserk gem right now. It's 3ex each time you finish this.

    2. Check your beasts, there could be one worth selling. Remember that the bestiary orb is 1c, don't sell those under 1c. Also bulk selling yellow beast is a thing.

    3. Pick up essences, especially with the essence stash tab. Most of the high tier one are worth more than 3c. My stash is set at 10c and when I start to get a lot of one type there usually is someone wanting to pay premium to not do a lot of trades

    4. Sell all your fossils in stack of 10+, there is always someone that is happy to pay 20% more for 10 fossils at once.

    5. Do your prophecies chains ! The key you get at the end is worth 20~35c depending on which one. You can complete them by mapping most of the time.

    6. Sell everything you do not use. I sell all my jewellers / fusings / chances / ancients / GCPs and you would be surprised how much chaos/ex you have waiting for you.

    7. When doing T11+ maps, use your low level sextants ! They are cheap and adds a lot of mobs to the maps

    8. Zana missions gives you free maps, can give you unique/synth/elder/shaper maps that are worth a lot.

    9. Jun mission gives a lot of exp (if you don't die to them) and veiled items in bulk can be sold for 2~3c each. Also betrayal board is rewarding. (Click here for easy steps credit to /u/HelpitBurnstooMuch)

    10. Alva missions adds a lot of mobs to maps making them more rewarding and each temple has the possibility of double corruption gem/equipments that you can either use or sell to other players. To do this you can use discord, there are a few available for example PoE trading discord and The Forbidden Trove. I am not affiliated with any of them but I use them daily. Also with the new patch they will be sellable in item form

    11. Einhar missions give beasts and those sells well as I said before.

    12. Niko mission are as rewarding as you're deep in delve, it's player dependent.

    13. If you have a divination card stash you can put it to public and set something like 8c price on all object. Some people are ready to overpay to buy bulk cards. If you get a lot of whisper for one in particular, check its price first before selling.

    14. Run elder guardians map for 13c each, the fragment alone is worth 14~15c making everything you get in the map pure profit, same for shaper guardians. Also you can bulk sell the fragments when you have 5+ and add like 5c~7c to each. You can run them white if you can't handle the alched map boss, ROI is still great.

    15. You can use harvest to roll your maps with "reforge a normal item into a rare item with physical/fire/cold/etc... modifier". Each map rolled like that is an alchemy orb saved. Every 6 map is a chaos saved at current prices.

    16. If you have spare selling tabs, set one up at 5~15c and put every rare jewelry you get in it. Chances are that a random item will be useful for someone and you'll get some change for it. When the tab is full, empty it and start again. Don't bother with other equipment slot though, only do this with ring/amulets/belts/jewels.

    17. Sell your catalyst in bulk, or vendor the low tier ones (abrasive, imbued, and intrinsic) 3 by 3 to try and get the better ones to sell.

    18. Using a remnant of corruption on an essence in a map has a chance to upgrade them, turning 3c into a lot more (Up to more than 20c). Do it on shrieking essence only.

    19. If you can't run shaper/elder guardian maps sell them in bulk (10+). You can use one of the trading discord for that. At most you'll lose 2 or 3c per map, but it's better than them sitting in your chest for nothing !
