    Quick PSA about Corrupted Blood

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 11:22 PM PDT

With the new gems announced, I've seen many comments about scaling Corrupting Fever, and just wanted to try and help clear it up. Corrupted blood is not considered a bleed or an ailment, rather a debuff, and will not scale like bleed does. This means no bleeding damage, damage over time multiplier for bleeding, or ailment damage. It will have to be scaled with generic damage, global physical damage, physical damage over time multiplier, increased damage over time, as well as gem levels and support gems. Rory did say that the passive tree will have nodes with physical damage over time multiplier, and some mods on gear will also. Hopefully this helps clear it up.

Edit: Here is the link with Mark clarifying. https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/mn2jxk/314_ultimatum_new_gems/gtw4esd/?context=10

Some tips for the new skills and low life that first came to mind

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 08:57 PM PDT

    Low Life notable uniques:

    • Starkonja's helm = 150% global evasion rating on low life, already a very good helm and it looks like the Petrified Blood stuff could be a great form of mitigation provided you have enough sustain. You lose out on half of your hp but take 40% of hits as DoT...so if you aren't dead you should have time to pop a life flask or have leech/regen/recovery be that much more effective. 150% evasion is a sizeable bonus to help bridge that gap of essentially having 10% more damage taken (with infinite sustain)...Petrified Blood could be like an insane modifier if you stack enough hit mitigation....and something like a raider with fortify, kintsugi, Wind Dancer keystone just has a bunch of hit mitigation and a means to make great use of that evasion with the onslaught ascendancy stuff.

    • Daresso's Courage (Shield) = 30% spell block on low life, great by itself but you can also use Willclash helm on a Heirophant that has 4 or 5 minimum charges to easily cap spell block. Is it worth not having life on two items that could get it? Spell block seems so legit though.

    • Rise of the Phoenix/The Oak (shields) = If Petrified Blood wants sustain and mitigation then converting damage taken into fire with a lot of fire res is already strong, and now with Phoenix, more builds can make use of the movement speed and extra fire res. The Oak provides up to 150 health and 6% regen on a shield, which can be very potent.

    • Replica Last Resort = Pretty good with ele hit and petrified blood LL might be a great way to make use of the affixes on the weapon(s). Relevant.

    New phys spells:

    • Most people forget that you can add an aura to a totem...chaos builds have wither totems, you might want to consider Pride Totems, and to show Gravicius who you really fuck for.

    • Reap loses charges on killing an enemy with the DoT, gains them by hitting and not killing with the hit. Well, you can never kill on hit with Southbound and if another DoT is applied first im pretty sure (please correct if wrong) that it is the one that gets the kill credit. Spellslinger with decay wand maybe? Could be clunky but if you have enough coverage it should work...but i guess it really depends on max blood charges and i don't think we know that.

If you have any other cool interactions i'd love to hear em!

In light of the new Reap and Cruelty Gems

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 03:59 PM PDT

1st, apologies as I have never had enough time to truly get into theorycrafting in PoE (and have failed when I did try haha).

    let me ask this plainly.

Is there a way to cause Ignite to apply based on a hit? I think with everyone going and trying Reap and Cruelty, there will be a huge bandwagon for EQ and phys type DOTs.

Is there a way that would allow ignite to replace that bleed working with the new support gem?

Would love to figure out an Melee based chieftain ignite FoW, Cruelty build....

or am i way off base?

Any ideas for builds for reap?

    Posted: 09 Apr 2021 12:08 AM PDT

If the numbers are good, what kind of builds would be good at running reap? Or would it basically require a new style of build

New player with weak PC :/

    Posted: 09 Apr 2021 01:12 AM PDT

This is my first Reddit post, but I really need some advice to improve my gameplay, because in a casual rare map I have 5fps...

    I have an i5 4440, 16GB RAM, and GeForce 750Ti 2GB, I think it's a bad config but I love POE.

I have enough salary for life but I can't buy any new item for my PC. Any practice to improve FPS or FPS drops? Or exist any almost immortal build for FPS drops?

    Really thank you for help.

So... your build ideas after seeing Ultimatum gems?

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 03:15 PM PDT

I'm by no means someone that can craft a build, but stuff that came to my mind:

    • Exsanguinate Miner? (looks similar to Glacial Cascade)

    • Corrupted Blood Cyclone?

    - Berserker Warcry Reap?

And that one build that still does 120M bleed dps - massive upgrades?

Lemme hear your ideas with the new gems!

    Exsanguinate Ideas

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 08:31 PM PDT

Just kind of wondering what people thought about the new exsanguinate skill and possible build concepts to consider while we wait for more specific information in the coming days.

My first thought was to build a low-life slayer with a bunch of auras, and use leech to offset the health cost of using the spell.

Another idea I had was something like a MoM Trickster focusing on scaling the DoT aspect of the skill.

    Aurabot as league starter

    Posted: 09 Apr 2021 02:26 AM PDT

    Hey fellow exiles.

In ultimatum league, im going to team up with another player to play duo. But as the new league mechanic can be quite hard the further u are in it.

Im looking for an aurabot build that can be played as an league starter and be min maxes for endgame.

Anyone have a suggestion, which aurabot is the best for new league mechanic? Both in adding defence and Damage to the other party members.

Im going to play Ascendant MoM agnostic BL Miner

If I saw correctly, all or most of the new abilities have spell tag. How do you plan to sustain your life as caster?

    Posted: 09 Apr 2021 02:01 AM PDT

As the title says, what is your plan? I remember trying to make DP viable after the destruction of DP berserker build, but it just sucked, because I couldnt sustain my life as a caster class/ascendancy. And even if I managed to sustain it, it was too glass cannon once there was some additional damage from the enemy.

If I play a typical caster ascendancy and build to not feel sluggish and have some spell scaling, its going to be in the parts of the tree with no life regen. Spell life leech doesnt feel too gamebreaking either. Playing marauder or bottom class caster feels horrible due to the sluggishness and no spell scaling in the bottom tree. Also phys + dot ability scaling sounds super hard and inefficient. I didnt see the Rory video yet, because Im in work, so sorry if I missed something there.

What are you suggestions, how will these builds be played?

    New staff Atziri's Rule

    Posted: 09 Apr 2021 04:17 AM PDT

Well, i'm excited about this staff, but without the datamining, we just can speculate about the effect of "queen's demand" skill.

From the description and where it comes from, it seems that it will randomly choose between aztiri's flamebast and stormcall (wich i enjoyed play) - cannot be stunned, no reflect and no 6 link needed is cherry on the top

    the big questions are :

How to scale it proprely ? (critical ? reduce duration ?)

    Wich ascendecies ? (templar -> inquisitor ? witch-> elem ?)

Will it be a meme build or could it be viable ? (no idea because no data) ...

    any thoughts ?

Ngamahu's Flame Battlemage Double CoC BFBB

    Posted: 09 Apr 2021 03:48 AM PDT

I was messing around in Ritual SSF for a fresh start and found [[Ngamahu's Flame]]. With decent damage, 60% phys to fire conversion and 20% fire pen, it seemed like a good fit for a phys spell battlemage build. In trying to figure out how to also take advantage of the axe's 20% chance to trigger Molten Burst, I discovered that it can trigger Cast on Crit. Molten Burst doesn't take a socket so it's functionally an extra link for CoC. Triggered Blade Fall with Spell Cascade creates an expected 7.5 blades per proc, which is a reasonably good fit for having Blade Blast trigger 1/5 of the time on average. I then leveled an Inquisitor to maps, took Instruments of Virtue and Righteous Providence, equipped a Tabula and the chicken axe and the best gear and jewels I had found on the way, and...

    It worked?

I'm absolutely deleting white maps and early conquerors. Blade Blast can take a moment to proc against a lone boss, but once it does, the boss dies. And that's with shit gear, incomplete tree and a five-linked axe with the wrong colors. I'm impressed, though I wonder how far it scales.

Any experience with Ignite Doryani's Fist?

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 06:50 PM PDT

I was wondering if anyone here has played a Doryani's ignite build with the new elementalist?

I'm thinking of using this PoB as a base but change a few things. https://pastebin.com/9W33dtHs

    • Change the Bastion and Shaper of Storm ascendancy into Shaper of Flames and Mastermind
    • Replace the Kaom's with a Incandesencet Heart
    • Change the anoint to measured fury
    • Replace small cluster with Enduring Composure and add a CWDT + IC in there
    • Change the rings to rares with life + resists
    • Maybe replace the boots with a abberath hooves
    • Maybe changing the timeless to a chainbreaker but maybe this gives better surviviability.

Might of toyed around with a few more things but I remember getting the Ignite DPS over 10m which was decent. There was another guy on youtube running a CI version that looked very strong but the gear requirements especially the synthesized unwavering stance boots was way too expensive.

This looks ok on paper but things would be different in practice. Wonder what people think how this would hold up in actual play.

Discussion - Juiced Blighted Map Farmer

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 06:00 PM PDT

Hey everyone, I'm not posting this on the main PoE Reddit because I want to minimize the number of players I have to compete with for Blighted Map trading. With that being said, you guys are cool enough that I don't mind if you know. =)

Blighted Maps can (and should) be chiseled, alched, rolled, anointed, and vaal'd!

I have a history of running Red Vanilla Blighted Maps, and the bosses... man, those bosses one-shot me from offscreen pretty often. The Blighted Red Map bosses are already deadly, and now I'm going to be juicing them to make them even more rippy!

I want to hear your build suggestions for a tanky build that we can dedicate to farming Juiced Blighted Red Maps as a leaguestarter.

Toxic Rain leaguestart guide i promised you guys about a week ago

    Posted: 07 Apr 2021 02:51 PM PDT

I think that there's simply no other place that allows for good feedback and interaction and updateability as poe forums so i posted it there

    https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3078555

I decided to post it before patch notes hit and just eat it and update on the fly if/when things change

There are few reasons for that:

1)there's a metric ton of stuff to read through

2)people most likely aren't going to wait or have enough time to decide only 3 days before the patch so

3)outside of Berserk/Chainbreaker i seriously doubt anything else is in danger of getting significant nerfs, the build is going to be fine even without it and it's going to remain 95% the same

I recommend that you check my crafting section even if you don't plan on playing the build, because certain crafting mechanics and tricks i showcased can be applicable to a lot of different things you might notice on your own builds/starters

for example utilizing as low item levels as possible when possible to allow them to be modified by any tier of harvest crafting, therefore not wasting early harvest crafts you mostly throw away on items you'll replace

Anyways i hope i've been of some help, this actually took me longer than expected, because even though the "core" of the information was already there, it was written in such way that mostly only i could understanding, i had to go back and redo 99% of abbrevations and offer some explanations behind certain processes to make it as accessible as possible because there are certain methods/processes where it's crucial or mandatory to explain why some things are needed to not brick an item or not fully utilize some mechanics in crafting

edit: the economy/currency stuff is going to have to wait for notes and atlas info reveal, i sincerely doubt everythign is going to remain the same but i also doubt that they'll change all of it or at least not replace it with other good options, anyways i'll be able to identify the good stuff pretty fast and ill look to update the guide withing few hours of patch notes

    The Scales of Justice ideas

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 05:01 PM PDT

First, this wording has confused me; "Unaffected by ignite OR shock if maximum life and mana are within 500". Why use "or" and not "and"? Does it pick at random which one you're unaffected by if you've met the condition or is it both?

Second, seems like it'd be fun to play around with MoM and maybe EB and/or Corrupted Soul?

    What does everyone else think?

Any advice on this build I cooked up?

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 08:02 PM PDT

    https://pastebin.com/6wvhwa0K

The DPS obviously isn't entirely accurate, I estimate it to be more around 30 million DPS (I get this from the fact that the 2 instances of bladefall should make about ~50 lingering blades per second, and then blade blast average damage is 600k per blade)

Health regen isn't accurate either because it isn't counting enduring cry, and the righteous fire self-damage is not being converted with divine flesh.

I think the defenses are pretty solid with glancing blows, life recovery on block, 6.5k-7k life, and physical damage taken as elemental, elemental taken as chaos, and fortify as well as endurance charges.

Playing in ssfhc, and watching some of the speeders running around like darkee. I don't understand why some of them use call of steel and some of them don't?

I have never tried impale w/ earthquake. I landed a Lord of steel in ritual while leveling. Can anyone spread insight on the topic? Also I see some people in POE.ninja use the node for impale spreading to nearby enemies with a 4 sec. cool down. However the majority do not use this.

I also see some profiles ditch the call of steel.
