    Aul is the best designed fight in the game, and it is a shame how rare experiencing it is

    This league is probably the first time is about a year that I got a good Aul fight. I encountered it early league before my gear was too minmaxed and the boss was only like depth 240ish. For comparison it felt about like doing a shaper at around 5m dps. Normally when you hit an Aul it fall into one of two categories, your build is to the point you just insta-phase him and you only deal with invuln phase attacks, or it is super deep with horrifying mods you don't want to touch.

    Which is a shame, the fight itself has great telegraphing of attacks, unlike most end game bosses even his default melee attack is very clear to see. The part I find really interesting is how the clone phase dictates the rest of the fight. If you mess up and break too many cocoons, he gains a very dangerous azurite machine gun attack later on that you have to circle the boss to avoid. So doing the fight well results in less invuln phases later on.

    That said idk if there is a way for GGG to really make fighting him more accessible, most delve mods are rather interesting, though some make forecasting worse it certainly makes it harder. I guess the better take away is that more bosses like Aul would be nice.

    I'd play Hardcore League if my dead character went to Softcore League instead of Softcore Standard.

    I think a way to breathe life into hardcore is make it so that people who die in Hardcore League get their character transferred to Softcore League. That way a death is still punishing in the sense that you lose the prestige of going far into the content without dying, but you can still play through the league on the character you've invested time into.

    I think it would mean people would roll on Hardcore league and see how far they can get. If they die, it sucks but you still can play the game more on that character.

    Good compromise that would get me playing hardcore.

    People are selling this helmet for 20 ex in standard, with random enchant and gilded.

    If some item is enchanted you can't split it.
    If someone had the mod from gilded fossil you can't fracture it 5 times to vendor it for a new one without enchant or mod.

    So some people bought a helmet in ritual hardcore league and ripped it to standard to split (dupe) it, enchant it, gilde it and sell it while sitting on a monopole, printing currency.

    However do not fall for those ridiculous prices, you can get around the splitting blockers.

    if it has the gilded mod just synthesize the base, fracture it 5 times and vendor the mirrored copies for a fresh base without enchant or fossil mod.

    likewise if its enchanted you can fracture it 5 times and vendor it for a fresh base.

    I guess from the skill tree Templar class is leaning towards using a staff as a primary weapon. But the channeling/cast animation just feels like I'm playing a game from 2004. He looks like me when I was playing with the stick at 6yo, pretending to drive an invisible car. On the other hand, witch class, who is "supposed" to be played with wands/etc. has the best animation with a stave. Just a little bit frustrating :(

    Doom Gyre - a low-key GG ring for a phys conversion wander

    This league, I decided to create my own version of an end-game wander using a skill no one takes seriously: kinetic bolt (not kinetic blast).

    Moreover, I chose an unexpected class to accomplish my goal, the Trickster.

    Anyway, one of the issues I ran into was having high enough accuracy, defenses, and crit multi.

    And because I am using the Wise Oak flask, balancing resists so that they would all be equal--in order to get the fullest benefit from the flask--was made possible by having an implicit resistance ring. The rationale behind equalizing all of my resists for ele pen for each element is simple. I'm using Trinity support. And even though fire damage is only 5% of my total damage, equalizing fire resist boosts my total dps by about 0.7%, which is not insignificant when you're min-maxing. That's why the implicit resistance is 29% and not 30%.

    While the ring is perfect as it is, the dream ring would be slightly different. Instead of ES/ES% (or life), it would be an essence crafted ring with Gain 10% of physical damage as extra fire damage. To craft this requires too many essences and way more time and currency that I would be unwilling to invest.
