Tip for Ele Hit players that I don't see in any youtube guides/poe.ninja profiles

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 08:16 AM PDT

Seems like a lot of people are trying Ele Hit raider out, so thought I'd share something that made my character a lot more enjoyable (and powerful). And disclaimer, this is for people that are using the build to sink currency into, not budget friendly advice.

    Buy a second bow!

So does this mean I'm advocating weapon swapping? Yes! If that sounds atrocious to you, then read no further.

But for me, I personally love the feeling/playstyle of having my clear/single-target Ele Hits both being used via right click. It feels extremely awkward to me to aim my single target Ele hit barrage with a keypress instead of a right click, and I definitely want the clearing ability on right click since we're using that 99% of the time. So on the rare occasion that I need a burst of single target, instead of holding down something like "W", I press "W" once instead, and then right click as normal.

This build became so much more enjoyable to me once I did this. I got this bow for 30ex, not sure what the expected cost to craft is, and I'm sure someone can/will let me know how much I overpaid for my laziness (and yeah I know I can get an additional 1% local ias with t4 hillock), but the point being you can get a +1 arrow instead, or drop the crit suffix, and then you're only looking at 8-15ex or whatever. Or just craft 2x even better ones with Ele pen if you're a rich boi.

Aside from this QoL "benefit" (assuming you see it so), this provides two obvious power benefits to our character. For starters, we get +3 levels to our clear Ele hit. Some people will say that's irrelevant since you 1-shot everything in maps, but in my experience that's simply not true at all. Plenty of Ultimatum/Legion/Beyond rares survive a few hits with the clearing Ele hit (especially with Delirium layers), but die fast enough to not bother wanting to swap to single-targeting them down.

The other benefit is giving us 6 more jewel sockets, linked if we want. This opens up tons of options, really too many to list here as it's completely independent of the build. I'm sure people will have many opinions, but I'll mention some I tested and liked for those unsure of how to benefit from the freed up sockets.

    • ST Mirage Archer setup. First one I'll mention, to counter the argument of losing your mirage archer during ST, you can just put in a ST mirage archer setup to augment your ST damage by a lot more than the clear mirage archer would.

    • Hextouch setup: This is especially powerful if you want to use a "-X% fire res" helm (which is great and what the highest pob warriors use for this build, and also gives a huge chunk of much needed life, and resists if needed for flexibility or filling out chaos res). Awakened Hextouch+Flammability+Ele Weakness+Combustion. The last two links are completely up to preference. I personally like Armageddon Brand+Faster casting (can get divergent brand if you want to drop it in things like Ultimatums and have it jump around). Some people probably prefer an attack skill to make use of our high attack speed. I think this is by far the most "powerful" (read: pew pew pob) use of the spare links. You do have to manually cast sniper's mark for the 3rd curse though, or opt for a mark on hit ring, but sniper's mark is the best and there's no ring. However, even with Asenath's, there's no auto targeting for Sniper's Mark, since Asenath's procs where your cursor is when you attack (not sure if you have to fully name-lock to proc sniper's mark or what).

    • CWDT setup. CWDT+Void Sphere+Frost Shield+Second Wind+Inc Aoe+Golem (stone/chaos both seemed useful, not sure which I prefer) is what I tried first. Personally, since it's release, I've always found cwdt+void sphere to be very underrated. And it's even better with Ultimatum. I think the skill gem having a dogshit description that doesn't mention anywhere that it sucks enemies in contributes to its lack of use, and people just use cwdt setups much less than in the past. Other options include a different chill spell (vortex, creeping frost, cold snap), inc duration, steelskin/immortal call (these felt pretty useless on a dodge/evasion char to me, using a low cwdt so small steelskin amount anyways). CWDT+Void Sphere+Frost Shield+Second Wind+Inc duration+Steelskin is what I ended up with as my favorite setup. Steelskin at 21/20 and bound to be cast all the time, making use of the second wind/duration in the cwdt links.

    • Utility Minion setup. Golem+AG+Meat Shield+Minion Life. I added a cwdt+void sphere to fill out the last 2 sockets. Other gems to consider in this setup are Elemental Army and Empower (for further minion tankiness), or summon holy relic for some regen. Main draw of this setup is obviously fortify from the AG.

    • Zoomer setup. Enhance+Second Wind+Smoke Mine+Phase Run+Inc duration

    • Honorable mentions: Memes; try some goofy stuff, you might find it's very useful or aesthetically pleasing. Leveling gems; don't want to weapon swap cause you lost 6 lvling sockets? lvl in chest instead. Cast on death+portal: randomly die to lag in a long map or guardian room or something? Don't be embarrassed, you're playing ele hit, it's definitely softcore, embrace the cast on death meme, never do the run of shame again.

The final cwdt setup felt pretty nice honestly, with pretty good uptime on steelskin that prevented a good amount of one-shots that can happen to this build. In the case of wanting a hextouch setup and cwdt, you still have the option of the helm not being Asenath. In which case cwdt or hextouch can go there. My final choice was the CWDT+Void Sphere+Frost Shield+Second Wind+Inc duration+Steelskin(21/20) in chest, with Awakened Hextouch+Ele Weakness+Combustion+Armageddon Brand. I tried Rain of Arrows as well, but the Brand is nice for having 100% chance to ignite as well as lasting 9 seconds for a single cast (5 second max attach duration, 4 second base ignite duration). Flammability is then gotten from a flammability on hit ring, which has the added benefit of increasing clear dps instead of the curse setup being purely single target. Sniper's mark then goes into an unset or one of the chest links you feel is useless.

Lastly, as an aside, for the love of Innocence, DON'T USE WAVE OF CONVICTION IN YOUR ASENATH'S. I have no idea why this is so common. Raider aoe exposure is a much bigger aoe than WoC and has a higher value, thus your WoC does nothing besides proc combustion. I even saw one guide explicitly mention this and yet still recommend WoC just as a combustion vehicle. Use a spell that excels at procing ignite for combustion. Personally, I used Armageddon Brand (25% chance to ignite puts it at 100% chance with flammability, not 100% for WoC) just like in my hextouch setup (and the hextouch setup is very powerful), and it's even better in Asenath's since there's no cast time. Recommend trying the hextouch setup anyways; Asenath's reliability is pretty questionable in my experience, a lot worse than I thought it'd be.

ENKI Arc Witch - Now what?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 10:09 AM PDT

Ok, I'm about 20-30 hours into my first real character on league play and the game is super fun.

I don't understand what I'm doing half the time and I have probably spent at least as much time reading and watching videos as I have actually played, but I'm starting to get the red map drops.

I still really don't understand the atlas, but I am having a lot of fun.

I am running Enki's arc witch and while it is a blast and has taught me a lot about the game. I think I would like to play a tankier build.

I only have 1 ex and about 20 chaos at the moment (I bought a few 10+/- chaos orb items).

I would like another league starter build that I could potentially learn this league and play again to start next league with so I don't die so often.

I still enjoy the arc witch, but I have failed the couple ulti's I tried and I have a lot of trouble making it out of heists without dying and losing all my items.

    TL:DR

I die too much with Enki arc witch and want to try a different/more tanky league starter. LF Recomendations.

Damage over time vs Chaos Damage over time vs Damage over time with bow skills

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 07:22 AM PDT

Hi, I have searched but cannot find an answer to this question.

What, if any, is the difference between Damage over time vs Chaos Damage over time vs Damage over time with bow skills, as found on the passive skill tree?

The context is Toxic rain. Which passive nodes are best and why? Or should there be a balance between them, if so why?

The nodes available vary in where they are found and what bonuses are provided, in general it seems the chaos damage over time nodes offer lower % increases.

I am just trying to figure out what, if any difference it makes in which passive nodes I take.

    Thank you in advance.

Its possible this is double posting somewhere as this is my 2nd attempt, apologies.

    Having trouble getting imprint recipe

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 09:12 AM PDT

    Hi guys,

I have been trying to get imprint recipe for a while now

I completed 120 Tirns End maps:

    • T14-T16

    • Beastiary passives

    • 35% each watchstone to attract red beast from the deep

    • Each map with scarabs or Craicic lures

Still have not found Craicic Chimeral (or any other correct beast if any) to get the recipe

I am starting to think that I am doing something wrong. Is it suppose to be this rare?

    Thanks

It feels bad to see such a decrease in GGG communication

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 12:12 AM PDT

    Hey there !

I've been playing since Delve and it's the first league I've seen so little communication from GGG. I don't mean tackling big issues but even small banter from Bex or the Community_Team. It's sad because it's a lot of what drew me to the game, it was wild hoz much GGG was above the rest in term of communication. Hope it will be back as usual next league !

    Randomize influence types harvest craft

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 09:08 AM PDT

Does the Randomize influence types harvest craft always keep the number of influences? For example if I use it on an item with 2 influences will it keep that number or give me 1-2?
