    Please GGG Make Talismans Great Again! I am overwhelmed by sadness upon realizing, that I'm not even going to look at these talismans. After the nerf they're so bad, even checking their stats isn't worth my time. They were ok for one league with the smart loot system. Could we PLEASE have that back?

    I've heard a lot in chat "evasion gives diminishing returns" - This is correct but very misleading.

    I assume this is because when you look at evade chance vs evasion rating you get a graph like this and run in fear at using any large amount of evasion. Mostly posting this so I can direct people here in case anyone argues in global about this and wants a graph to point to.

    However - When you use Effective Life = Life/ 1-Evade% you get something strikingly different.

    Now don't get me wrong. There certainly are diminishing returns - This function is monotonically decreasing and is slightly curved however the curve is very minor and when you might think, well, surely at very large amounts of evasion that curve gets even bigger. This is not the case

    I would love if someone could do the math for plotting a regression line across this function but since it is piecewise and kind of ugly I don't even want to attempt it - I just know its gonna be a bitch and a half to do.

    The only assumptions I made knowingly:

    1. Effective Life = Life/(1-evade%) is a suitable model (I'd love to hear any ways to make this model more accurate)
    2. Monster accuracy is 538, took that straight from the wiki and doing a quick calculation based on my tooltip evasion/evade i got 530 so I'm comfortable with that number being ok
    3. Life is 5k, so effective life at 50% dodge is 10k. and effective life at 75% dodge is 20k ect.

    Tl;Dr - graph do go bendy but not too bendy still sorta straight hardly any diminish

    I made a post previously wondering if I was doing something wrong. After some troubleshooting, it seems the skill itself is, and has been, bugged. There are a few bug reports on the skill -- 1, 2, 3 -- dating back to 2019, talking about the same issue.

    The issue being that Sweep, despite having Resolute Technique on, and enemies in the direct path of the sweep - doesn't always hit enemies. It's basically a 50/50 rendering the skill almost useless.

    In the clip I'm using a Replica Harvest axe, but had the same issue with a Limbsplit. Its linked to Melee Phys, Brutality, Chance to Bleed, and Swift Affliction. Other items being Tabula, Goldrim, Wanderlust, Feastbind, Carnage Heart, and LC gloves. I tested the skill unlinked, naked, with RT turned on, and the same issue appears. I also tried unspeccing RT, and the same issue appears.

    What's also odd is that sometimes it seems enemies are hit after the animation fully completes. This isn't always the case, but after the full swing, maybe a couple frames later, the enemies will become "hit".

    I'm not sure if this affects Anomalous Sweep, which is what I was planning on building for. But it seems right now it's best to stay away from it until GGG either patches it, or lets us know if something else is going on with the skill.

    EDIT: Just to clear up some stuff. I am on Lockstep. I can also recreate this issue through any mob, and even in act 1 - its not enemies blocking or dodging / evading (I thought this at first, which is what prompted me to travel to RT node).

    Really sad that short races like the one held at ExileCon are basically dead now that all the best players like tytykiller, havoc, imexile and tons of other players have said they're not going to do short races for this patch because of the massive nerfs to movement skills for short racing.

    Basically title.

    Havoc is doing royale content now, imexile is practicing for the longer format gauntlet races and tyty is hardstuck diamond league of legends or speed running D2 now.

    I am one of those people who always enjoyed the short races for a couple of hours on the weekends, used to get really excited to see all the best players and some other slightly more non-meta players like Quantrik (long neck templar memes) play and compete with each other.

    Was just hanging out in ImExile's chat and he basically said the skill expression in racing is almost completely disappeared except for game knowledge (reading zones and such) and inventory management. 3.15 took away pretty much all of movement skills that were used extensively in short races (biggest nerf was smoke mine) to a point where they can basically only be used for skips. It's a point where none of the racers want to do runs anymore because it's just so much slower than 3.14 runs.

    It's been a great run for the short racing community. Thanks everyone! Maybe 3.16 might bring back some more life into the short racing scene for PoE, what do you all think?

    I don't want to contribute to the negativity around this patch, so I'm going to try to be kind and constructive.

    To put it simply: SSF/HC/SSFHC damage numbers simply aren't there anymore on a gross number of skills if you are building proper defenses (and coping with mana costs) even with a six link.

    I gave this patch a very serious "try", but for me this game is fundamentally broken for these formats of play until something is done about this. I've long been critical of GGG for skill disparity (especially channeled skills which are played by like maybe 20 people on the ladder outside of some exceptions like d.ire/worb), but the current state of the game is actually so sad. I'm sorry GGG, I really didn't want to contribute to the negative feedback and I've been trying to enjoy myself this league, I was excited for the game to get a bit harder and more deliberate and slower paced, but this isn't what's happening. What's happening is that the game is basically dead for me because nothing interesting or creative is even remotely viable anymore. It's play the meta (which consists of unintentionally busted skills), or suffer.

    Dear GGG, when you come up to the realization that Forbidden rite totem builds are Overpowered, please address your nerf to that particular builds rather than nerfing the whole skill to the ground.

    -sincerely, somebody who's tired of seeing self cast get hurt for the sins of others archetypes

    Let's be honest, self cast is not in the best place right now

    Every spells are triggered through other means, totem, traps,mines, trigger gems

    The game is so fast that self casting feels slow and archaic

    Everybody feels a nerf to forbidden rite coming but it would be great if the nerf was to the actual "problematic" builds rather than do a global nerf that will also affect selfcast

    Tactic to farming ilvl 86+ items in SSF (such as Colossal Tower Shield)

    Hey all,

    Not sure if this will help anyone (or even if its the best option) but I was struggling to get my hands on an ilvl 86 shield for my SST build in SSF.

    To specifically farm one, i specc'd into the Underground Kingdom & Lightless Legion Atlas nodes in Tirns End and farmed maps here with Abyss scarabs and Zana mod (Zana is fine, i just had a load of scarabs lying around and used them to speed up the process)

    Abyssal depths spawn +1 level to the map they are in so this plus the extra 3 levels means that T15+ maps will create a Level 86+ area. Which is also handy as you can horizon into a T15 in Tirns but not a T16 as it doesn't have a natural T16.

    This means that every item that drops when an depth finally procs is ilvl 86+. I generated a LOAD of decent bases in a couple of runs as well as 2x 86+ Colossal Tower Shields in approx 5x depth runs.

    While they are not amazing atlas nodes, I farm Einhar and Deli elsewhere so these point don't really go to waste for me. Plus, I also specc'd into Buried Riches seeing as I was farming here anyway for a bit of extra currency.

    Just thought I'd share in case anyone else was struggling 👍

    Does Sweep have Deadzone...?

    I'm not sure what's going on with Sweep, but even with Resolute Technique, almost 40% of my hits are missing enemies. I'm not exactly sure if I'm doing something wrong or if there's something wrong with the skill itself. Maybe there's a deadzone near the player? But it seems even enemies directly within the swing path are missed as well. Has anyone who has played sweep encountered this issue?

    Edit: I posted a video of the issue here - Is Sweep Bugged? : PathOfExileBuilds (reddit.com) - you can see I'm not even hitting 50%. I have Resolute Technique on, I'm also linked with Brutality, Swift Affliction, Chance to Bleed, and Melee Phys using a Replica Harvest axe. Something is definitely wrong with the skill.
