Flicker Strike saved this League for me! Here are my thoughts on how to get started and what to prioritize.

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 11:56 AM PDT

I have never played a Build that was this much fun to play and, for me personally, to optimize.

During the almost 2 weeks I have played it so far I have farmed more currency than ever, not necessarily because it is so much better than other builds but because I have so much fun playing it.

During that time I realized a few things I wished I knew earlier and I thought to maybe write those up to help other people who have some spare currency this late in the game and want to try it out.

First you have to know that Flicker Strike is a pretty expensive build. So far I have spent at least 500 ex and I could spend that again easily on further upgrades. The good thing is that it is pretty good even at lower currency.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uplf7aXfLlo&t=230s&ab_channel=PoETeacher

This is a pretty good Video that helped me a lot when I got started, but I think there are some things this guide leaves out.

The biggest meme about Flicker Strike is that you always die randomly and often. With the Helmet recommended in the video this is certainly true.

-Abyssus is a great helmet for any PoB-Warrior who wants to pump DPS numbers a little higher, with a crit multi of over 100% it really helps those numbers look pretty.

If only it did not have that nasty downside with at least 40% increased physical damage taken. I changed that Helmet after around 5 days for a generic 1ex +Life, +Resistance and my survivability went way up.

Before I would get oneshotted at least 2-3 times per map. After it dropped to 0-1. I actually got 50% exp of 96-97 in one go!

Second big thing for me are, not surprisingly, Cluster Jewels. They give incredibly high damage and I would always recommend opting for them. You can get a 8-Passive Large Cluster Jewel with Blanketed Snow and Prismatic Heart for around 3 ex, you can also craft these somewhat easily by just spamming alts. Mediums with 5 passive with Basics of Pain and Precise Commander are 2 ex.

Those cluster setups give me a Damage increase of around 150%.

Third is the choice of a Watchers Eye, for me I simmed far higher with a simple 6 ex one with just crit chance while affected by Hatred. Since the tree and jewels give lots of Crit Multi this increases the damage substantially.

Fourth, since we are scaling Frenzy charges we should always go for +1 Frenzy charges on the gloves, those can be pretty cheap if you settle for just the +Frenzy charge and Attack speed as offensive Modifiers.

Fifth, you can get Added Cold Damage per Frenzy charge on a Redeemer influence Ilvl 80 Ring. Either crafting or buying one is not particular expensive. Both of my rings were bought at 5 ex.

Headhunter of course is amazing for this build but not necessary, it gives you even more clearspeed but regarding Boss Dps a well rolled Stygian Vise is superior.

I would say that you can get started with a Flicker Strike build for around 50-100 ex if you can get some good deals on some required items like Farrul's Fur and Paradoxica.

The cool thing about this build is that you really notice each improvement in Gear you make. There is always something to optimize and tweak to get better damage and sometimes even survivability.

    Here is my POB: https://pastebin.com/W8bT4dzV

The six link I used before I got my Replica Shako is there as well.

All in all an amazingly fun skill to use and I cannot recommend it enough.

Need help progressing with my Ice Shot Deadeye

    Posted: 14 Sep 2021 03:04 AM PDT

    Pre-configured PoB: https://pastebin.com/xstYsKfL

TLDR: what should I change / progress to do something more than Elder farming? I'm super squishy and can't finish juicy delirium maps (and I love mapping).

    Long story:

Keep in mind I'm a total noob and have no experience nor knowledge within the game, most of the time I was led by hand by my friends that I play with, however right now they have no ideas on what can be done more.

I started the league with TR, then moved on to Ice Shot deadeye full unique build, and progressed over the time to rare items. Right now I am able to solo Elder Guardians and Elder, got Sirus AL5 kill and didn't proceed further as it became annoying to me how many bugs this fight has. I'm able to kill Maven Invitation (Twisted).

Right now my issue is that I wanted to try something new and something that potentially could give me a better source of income than Elder farming. Since I don't like Heists, Delve and Sirus farm, my friends suggested giving juiced maps a shot (rolling sextants on good watchstones, configuring maven points in given region, and farming it). It's all good and games, but right now I'm unable to finish the maps, I always run out of portals, because I'm dying to one shot random projectiles, freezes, off-screens, or claps when beyond mobs, which seem to be required for juicy map farming, teleport me to them. I even changed the tree a little bit so I can put the "mini headhunter" Inspired Learning so it becomes a bit more bearable, and, obviously, it helped in the map clear (I can ALMOST get to the boss before portals run out).

I've seen latest ballista post as it was posted to me by one of the friends, however, I don't know if it will be beneficial to me if I don't enjoy boss farming that much. I've seen in the video that the author used clones in the simulacrum too, so perhaps that would be a new way to farm, but I wonder what would be your opinion.

[Build Help] Returning after nearly 2 years and I feel so weak

    Posted: 14 Sep 2021 02:38 AM PDT

I'm returning after nearly 2 years away so I'm following a guide and I just feel so, so squishy. My damage seems OK, I just die in the blink of an eye sometimes.

    Build I'm following: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3147914

    My character: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/MrH/characters?characterName=HackTemplar

I'm looking for general advice, have I done something wrong, is there an item that would help me greatly, passive points I should be aiming for next? Basically, anything that will help me to get tankier as it's not fun dying all the time. I don't think the build is the best in general but I don't want to start again.

PS: I only have 16 Chaos to work with right now.

Need some help to build defences for my int stacker and some other issues

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 10:30 PM PDT

Hi, I used an int stacking wanter guide from YouTube (can't remember his name).

The build at the moment clear content pretty well but I find myself dying a lot when I juice red maps. I think I could definately use some damage mitigation but my mobility (shield charge) feels super clunky (walls etc). Happy to sacrifice some damage in pursuit of defence!!

Any advice on where I could take the build?

[Build Help] [Ice Shot + Aura Bot] Desperate duo in need of amazing advice

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 06:35 PM PDT

Hey everyone, me and a friend recently got back into PoE after only playing very casually before. We wanted to team up so we rolled aurabot + Ice shot. We got the bare minimum required to make both builds work, and are now really struggling where to go from here. Some of our issues we are currently facing:

    Ice shot:

    • lack of damage vs red map+ bosses and some rares
    • lack of survivability in redmap especially bosses

    aurabot issues:

    • one/two shots from unknown damage types
    • lack of survivability when there are massive groups of mobs and little room to hide behind carry (delirium, ritual, other league stuff that dumps you in the middle of the fight)

Together we have scrounged up about 16 ex worth of currency, any advice on how to effectively update our equipment and skilltree would be most welcome! We have tried looking at better bows for the ice shot player, but they seem super expensive both to buy and to craft, even our full budget on just a bow might not be enough to get a meaningful upgrade. and might not help with our current issues.

Could i make a Int stacker on a 65ex budget in std?

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 08:50 AM PDT

I haven't played that many leagues and do not have high amounts of currency but the new league doesn't really feel good for me , so i thought i'd try to have some fun in std , turns out i could manage to get 60-70 ex if i sell the last few things i have. So my question is , could i make a decent int stacker that can do maps fairly quick and not struggle with bosses on that kinda budget?

    [3.15] | WITCH | SPECTRES | 5EX+ | Need end-game advice or help pushing from Level 90 to Level 100.

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 02:41 PM PDT

    Hi!

My 3.15 Spectre / Summoner is having a pretty difficult time pushing higher tier maps; I've invested anywhere from ~5-8+ ex into the build (and too much time stuck at a single level), and I'm beginning to think it will take a LOT more than that to really take the build further. I'm tired of not getting anywhere with my own suggestions as far as my level and build are concerned, so I thought to ask the community for suggestions.

    ACCOUNT NAME | EgoEnergy

    CHARACTER NAME | XanthaEbony

LINK TO PASSIVE SKILL TREE | HERE

    LINK TO GEAR | HERE

DEFENSE & MISC STATS | HERE & HERE

    OFFENSE | +4 Spectres | Frost-Auto Scout Walker; + Animated Guardian & +2 Carrion Golems

AURAS | Hatred + Haste + Skitterbots + Dread Banner

    CURSE | Assassin's Mark

Here's a look into what content I can and can't quite get to right now, as well as questions I have.

DELVE | Delving at ~150 Depth, Monster Level 81. Currently this is the only way for me to push 50% of a Level's XP in one go (22.75K Sulphite); and I generally lose all of that XP after running out of Sulphite and failing to complete more maps without dying. I'm currently planning to push to Monster Level 86 if I can, and then staying there for a while to farm items, Azurite, Resonators from Niko, and currency.

BLIGHTED MAPS | It's difficult to even fathom doing these due to performance loss and connectivity issues that I already have problems with; are the maps themselves generally worth more than the chaos they would sell for? If so, I'll at least try to complete them -- otherwise it's probably more in my interest to sell them.

MAPS & WATCHSTONES | I can't really confidently push any maps above T9 (+%20 Quality, Orb of Alchemy, Scarabs & Atziri Fragments, etc.) without dying at least 2+ times each map. Any maps below T14 don't really seem to be worth the time playing for XP even without dying, so this is probably my most pressing issue. It also keeps me from finishing the rest of the Watchstones, of which I have sixteen left to collect; and it also prevents me from increasing my Awakening Level. I'm a little worried my DPS is still too low to really clear anything above T11 quickly and efficiently, but I'm not sure what the main issue with the build is here.

MAVEN & SIRUS | As above, Sirus isn't even really something I'm thinking about right now - and I don't have the mapping speed and quantity of high tier (T11) maps to confidently push most of what's left of the Maven Invitations I have left (every Atlas Region at +5/6 Boss Encounters).

SHAPER & ELDER | Essentially as above; I don't possess the health, mapping speed, and DPS to really get to this content.

CURRENT STRATEGIES | I'm currently stuck debating whether to accept that I've come across a wall at Level 90, and to remain there -- slowly amassing Sulphite and increasing its' capacity so that I can level in a single Delve run; or to slowly gather what few Watchstones I can still get (provided I can clear a good number of T11+ maps) and then spreading them out across my Atlas, grinding Atlas and Master missions, selling all the maps I make from this strategy for currency, rebuilding, and then pushing the rest of the end-game with new and better gear; or both, simultaneously.

OTHER POINTS | Besides adding +20% Quality to all my Skill Gems, I'd like to purchase most of their Awakened versions, although I'm a long way off from having that kind of currency. I'm looking at changing my boots and my gloves, although I don't really have the currency for it at the moment -- and I may change my flasks up a bit. Any help in any of those areas would be appreciated.

    | CLOSING |

I'm really looking for advice regarding my gear and the passive skill tree, as well as strategies I could use at this point in the game; how could I respec both for more health, armor, and DPS? And are there better ways for me to make the currency I'll need to really complete the end-game?

Any tips, tricks, criticism, and advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Need some help with this (maybe a meme) Stormbind build please :)

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 08:37 AM PDT

So I'm at that point in the league where I like to pick up an obscure skill and see what I can do with it. This league I chose Stormbind, which I've never seen a build for.

current PoB: https://pastebin.com/yaE6KBKZ (along with future plans and an alternate heiro version I'm tinkering with).

The playstyle is extremely fun, but the problem is my deeps on paper should be around 1.2 mil (not outstanding, but decent for a level 85 build I just threw together), but feels like zdps in lvl 80 maps and I'm not sure why. Halp plz.

Stormbind comes with two skills. Stormbind itself channels to lay a grid of runes, and then Runeblast also channels to enhance and then detonate those runes when you release. Runes can be enhanced 3 times, each enhancement adding aoe and 100% more damage. Runeblast is slower than stormbind, and it enhances based on the mana spent channelling.

I'm using Stormbind totems to lay the runes, and then a separate runeblast 6l self-cast setup to detonate them. My runeblast cast speed is a bit higher than my Stormbind cast speed. In theory that means I can enhance runes faster than an individual totem casts them, and so my dps should be a bit higher than PoB's calculation. In practice I suspect downtime makes up the difference. Still, I should at least be keeping up with the rate that my totems lay runes.

In practice, I'm actually enhancing a small cluster of runes 2 or 3 times, rather than a wide spread of runes just once. I believe the runes are around 14 units apart, which makes an aoe of 20 just enough for 9 runes to overlap. When you channel Runeblast, it enhances the rune you target, and then enhances adjacent runes (assuming you don't move your cursor). I have a cast rate of 12.5 a second, so I'm pretty much always fully enhancing blocks of 9 or so runes.

I suspect what's missing is just more aoe, for better overlap, but I'm not sure how to fit a meaningful amount in without tanking my dps. I'm considering rebuilding as an heiro, since they have access to 130% increased aoe. Got a tree for that in the Pob, though some slight adjustments would be needed - including swapping Increased AoE on the Sigil of Power setup for Cold Snap, so I can generate frenzy charges. Before I start levelling a whole new character, though, I thought I'd ask for some feedback.

Impale Aura SO vs Cold Conversion SO

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 02:18 PM PDT

    Hey fellow POB warriors,

I started my first ever minion build in SSF this league but switched pretty early to SST (cause reasons). Now i want to give my necromancer a second try and play it in Trade League. I've collected around 60ex and a HH and want to now if i should invest it Cold SO or Impale Aura SO?

Targeted Area: Endgame Bosses and if possible on a minion build Deli 100%

Build req: Some kind of tanky build that could tank 1 boss hit but i know offense is the best defense

Which build would be better with my currency atm and which build scales better with more currency later on?

Hello, was looking for some help pushing my CoC Eye of Winter Build!

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 05:31 PM PDT

    Hello!

Was hoping I could get some people who are much smarter than me to take a look at my build and let me know where I can keep making improvements. The build is in a good place at the moment, and this is the first time I've started to actually 'min/max' a build. I watch DatModz on Twitch a lot, so the build is based on his expedition softcore character that he started.

    PoB Pastebin: https://pastebin.com/3C3ha4Qu

    A few quick notes:

    1) I plan to get a bottled faith. I've dropped two this league, but sold both in order to help pay for other items/crafting.

    2) I know that the elevated power charges on helm is a waste instead of elevated cold pen. I made the helm this way to help reduce the ramp up time to max power charges against bosses with phases like Sirus.

    3) Looking at poe.ninja, I've noticed a lot of higher end dps builds are using two threads of hope instead of just one. I'm going to play around in PoB to see adjusting points around and utilizing another will help boost dps.

Thank you to anyone/everyone who takes the time to look this over! I greatly appreciate it! :D

SRS Bomber - What to Upgrade Next? (Chest? Shield?)

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 09:25 AM PDT

    Hi!

So I got super lucky with selling a jewel and now I have about 9ex in raw currency. I still die a lot (I think I'm just impatient) but I really want to get to at least 24 challenges (I'm at 22) before I call it quits (or play less at least). I do die pretty often in T16 maps and anything with crowds I just get overwhelmed.

I tried my best to upgrade with what I know but my knowledge is still pretty limited - I recently upgraded the helmet and wand. Any help is appreciated.

    Question for the Fulcrum experts

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 01:54 PM PDT

When you combine fulcrum with elemental proliferation you end up having a little "ailment aura". Best known example is things burning around you while ignited creating something similar to righteous fire. Other ailments have threshold values though, will an ailment on the fulcrum user that froze a 10 hp enemy proliferate and freeze a 100.000.000 hp boss? Or will the boss check how much damage caused the initial ailment and not be affected if the damage was too low.

Can you freeze bosses by slapping weak adds or even worms or hydrospheres?

Question about Main Hand Weapons with SST

    Posted: 13 Sep 2021 07:44 AM PDT

I'm running the super niche SST Bleed Glad /s and had a question about my main hand weapon. I have the "cleaving" passive anointed on my amu. Current If I equip a good axe with flat phys/increased damage with bleeding etc..... I have a few questions:

am I ever actually using my axe to melee damage enemies? I thought my SST was my only damage source.

Will I get those benefits from axe mods/cleaving while using SST as it's attack source?

Should I be smashing monsters with my axe while close and SST when exploding packs?

    Thanks in advance!
