    We hit 100k PoB Warriors!

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 09:37 AM PDT

Aren't poison builds (like Fyres recent one) jebaits due to having to non-stop attack for the full poison duration to get the advertised DPS?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 08:09 PM PDT

(Using Fryes recent build as an example) Not trying to be rude, but struggling to understand how the poison DPS works. From what I can tell the base poison damage from the bow is actually quite low (for example on the "medium" investment each individual poison can only do a full 280k OVER 6 seconds)

Am I missing something? Won't the real world DPS (especially when the wither stacks are low when mapping) be much, much lower?

finished this up earlier, will likely update for week 1 and week 2

not everything is 100% league-start friendly and I can't guarantee all the POB's are very beginner-friendly as well but I've included guides and videos where I could; otherwise it's just a compilation of what's been updated and what has been recommended by others, streamers, etc...

I hope it helps you more than it helped me, still haven't picked my league-start lmao

most of these pob's will become outdated after a week or two, always check the guides / videos (if attached) for more accurate information

    enjoy!

    Bane Occultist Leveling Guide

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 09:01 AM PDT

Tornado shot vs Physical traps league start.

    Posted: 22 Oct 2021 02:50 AM PDT

I'm looking to league start as either tornado shot build or the Seismic/exsanguinate trap build.

My goal is to reach A8 and then respec into a bosser to focus on farming bosses to make currency. I know the trapper can do both , but I'm worried about it being too meta and all the items costing a fortune.

For TS I'm looking at either poison version with ballista or the corrupting fever version.

Both versions seem to be good for clear and decent single target but I didn't see them being very good bosser so respec might be needed into another boss killer.

Which one should I go for? and whose guide should I follow for it? I've seen multiple on youtube for either of those builds.

    Thank you

If you are not confident with the build you want to league-start with, here are your options to swap when things don't go your way:

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 10:48 PM PDT

I usually don't league-start with new skills or skills that I am not so sure it will work out well for me. But now that I'm an experienced player, I have started to take risks. But I wouldn't take risks with starter builds without contingency plans. For example, I league started 3.15 with FR Totems Hierophant and my contingency plan was to switch to Crit Freezing Pulse and Ice Spear Totems Hierophant . Luckily, FR Totems was very good and ended up being a meta build.

This patch honestly is giving even the most experienced players a tough time to choose their league starter builds. There are tons of decent starters to choose from and I can only imagine how overwhelming it would be for new players and casuals. Also levelling a new character class just to swap a flawed league-starter build isn't ideal.

So here is the list of good starter builds for three of the popular league-start ascendancies you can swap to if you are not satisfied with your chosen league starter:

    Occultist:

    • Cold DoT
    • Poison Tornado Shot Ballista Totems
    • Poisonous Concoction
    • Bane

    Raider:

    • Poison Tornado Shot Ballista Totems
    • Spectral Helix
    • Toxic Rain
    • Lightning Strike

    Champion:

    • Spectral Helix
    • Toxic Rain

Hope this helps and boosts your confidence to league start 3.16. If you want a guide for any of the builds in this list, ask in the comments.

Note: All builds in this list has been classified according to their ascendency for easy and relatively cheap respec. If you think you will be able to swap to a build of an another ascendency, feel free to do so.

    Pseudo Autoflasks

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 11:44 PM PDT

The Magnate and it's upgrades The Tactician and The Nomad have the unique modifier "50% increased Flask Charges gained". This mod is multiplicative to the "perpetual" prefix on flasks or "inc flask charge gained" from tree.

Slap on the "used when charges reach full" enchant and you have pseudo perma uptime on your flasks.

Rolling the flasks will be bit more expensive now, but even without automated flasks the belt just gives so many flask charges, makes levelling much nicer.

Just wanted to let this be known, as I haven't seen it in recent league starter pobs and it is a very easy way of gaining huge qol early on.

I've never beaten Sirus, Elder, or Shaper

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 08:52 AM PDT

I've been playing PoE on and off since prophecy. I've managed to make it to red maps, and that's about it. I tend to start dying, losing exp, and burning out. The furthest I've gotten was 3.15 with a Shield Crush Gladiator build, but Sirus still killed me. Mostly I was happy I could do the conquerors reliably. I've never done a 'juiced' map.

I've tried most builds that claim to help you win everything. They rarely do.

I tend to play one build a league since it takes me a while to get to maps.

I was going to try CA Death's Oath Occultist this time, but keep hearing it can't do bosses.

Anyone have a build that might be able to help a mediocre player actually 'beat' the game?

My Current Top 4 Starters this League...

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 06:08 PM PDT

Using my old thread and all the suggested builds that were talked about and posted. I have narrowed down my decision to these current 4 Builds as my league starter along with their POBs.

    Old Thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/qcg6lx/a_handful_of_starter_builds_other_people_are/

    1. Berserker - General's Cry Shield Crush (Tripolar Bear's)
      Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrYUcWpl9kk
      POB: https://pastebin.com/6f8nz8st
I have followed Tripolar Bear's builds in the past and he always seems to breeze through end game content with relative ease, and i have tried many builds of his which helped me reach and destroy the end game.
    2. Champion - Lancing/Shattering/Splitting Steel (Big Duck's)
      Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4qEF31bxY0
      POB: https://pastebin.com/b8YHUrj7
I chose the steel skills because i actually have never tried the steel skills myself in any league, and they are looking very promising in this video, and the quality of the video from Big Ducks himself sold me on it as well.
    3. Raider(Softcore)/Champion(Hardcore/SSF) - Toxic Rain (Zizaran's Video, but Lightee's build)
      Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nNguBo4JjQ
      Champion POB: https://pastebin.com/YgAscx7X
      Raider POB(Big Duck's Version): https://pastebin.com/2XLWAN3S
I used Big Duck's Raider Version just to show you an example of what the raider version of TR would look like. You don't need to follow his build, but you can look at the difference between the 2 POBs and figure out the best choices for you.
    4. Necromancer - Skeleton Mages (Von Vikton's)
      Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3hB2DdfiY4
      POB: https://pastebin.com/yWC03DPW
Being a summoner has always been an nice league starter, and it's almost always been a good build to fall back on since you are mostly just waiting for your minions to kill everything. This build is looking insanely strong, and that easy chill gameplay is what the lazy side of me loves the most.

There are so many builds this league that are looking to good to be true, and it's been a real struggle picking and deciding which builds to keep and which builds to drop. These were just my choices that I dwindled them down to, but i will probably put all 4 of them in a random picker and use that to decide my build.

If you were struggling on choosing a build this league then i recommend going one of these choices, they are all very solid builds, and i have checked out all the POBs and they are very starter and leveling friendly. I have 2.5k Hours in POE, and i still can't be bothered to make my own build, but finding the best choices is easy once you narrow down all the changes and the checklist the builds need to hit for the new league.

Anyway's Good Luck with your league start my friends!

Energy Blade Scion (Ass/Raid) Reave (Not Leaguestart-friendly, High Investment) - Can someone please review?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 11:33 PM PDT

    Alright, hi everybody!

    PoB Link: https://pastebin.com/S117GuyJ

I'm bad at PoBing, but I came up with a Energy Blade build that could work. Yes, you read correctly - it's a Reave build. I don't like strike skills, and neither do I like Traps (I mean the PoE traps), so I honestly didn't want to go the route that literally everyone is going and I wanted to leaguestart Energy Blade so badly. However, as you can see, the investment is very high so it is not Leaguestarter-able, but I will jump into it after I've hopefully gotten the items to make it viable.

It's not the best, but as long as it is fun and not terrible, I can endure. After all I'll be the future number 1 Absolution Miner, mark my words.

I have never played a Reave build or a lightning conversion build, so it's fun trying new stuff. I initially wanted to use Perepiteia unique shield, giving up to +3 level to Energy Blade, but from the 20/20 gem reveal it doesn't look it will make any significant difference. I'll try with PoBing once the gem is up, but I'm doubtful. That's why I have just a regular one.

Thanks for any input in advance.

I know PF build ideas have been popular here, note the massive stealth nerf to PF

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 04:36 PM PDT

Survival Insticts was slated to be changed to "50% chance for flasks not to consume charges, 70% reduced charges gained from killing enemies".

Most people planning on playing Pathfinder were going to combine this with 20% chance to not consume charges from Pathfinder, and 10% from the belt craft to have very high flask uptime with 80% chance for flasks to not consume charges.

This has been changed in the patch notes to: Updated - Survival Instincts: Now has "50% increased Flask Effect Duration" and "20% reduced Flask Charges Gained".

If you're looking for a low-budget, high-DPS starter: consider Animate Weapon Necro. Looking very strong 3.16!

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 11:20 AM PDT

I have played this build many times and maintain the Elemental Animate Weapon Guide on the forums, which has been steadily updated since patch 3.10.

I don't usually go out of the way to advertise the build, as I'm not a content creator and don't have anything particular to gain by more people playing this. (In fact, maybe I'd rather you didn't, as I've been buying 21/20 Animate Weapon gems for about 7c these last few leagues...)

HOWEVER, with the effective removal of Elemental Equilibrium I think lots of players are writing off elemental minions, which is a mistake!

Animate Weapon has always had amazing DPS but can feel a bit squishy, so where the build keeps evolving is in the defenses. It's also got a reputation as being clunky to play, some people just hate it - but in my opinion, it's lower maintenance than ED/C, and I personally love the more active summoner playstyle.

The passive tree has gotten better for both DPS and defenses on this build, making up for the loss of EE.

    Here are the POBs:

    Cold Conversion: https://pastebin.com/ZEYtUBk4

(2.4m sDPS, with Determination, 3.3m with Skitterbots instead. No gear, naked except for Triad Grip gloves)

    Fire Conversion: https://pastebin.com/bFpYhPEa

(2.7m DPS, Determination + Defiance Banner for defenses. I think the better defenses make this version superior. Again, that is DPS with no gear).

With modest currency investments, this build gets to over 10M boss DPS quite easily. Aside from the Triad Grips, it's good for SSF too.

For more info about the build, see the guide, and good luck in Patch 3.16!
