Interesting mana recovery mechanic, someone pls make a build out of it.

    Posted: 16 Nov 2021 03:39 PM PST

So when I saw the mana mastery "recover 10% mana when a brand expires on an enemy", I knew I wanted to make a build around it eventually. You can use 'reduced % brand duration' from scourge implicits to get -99% brand duration from only two gear slots. The brands then have durations of .02 - .05 sec lol.

You could abuse this to get crazy mana recovery on a cwdt setup, up to 50% total mana every time you're hit on cwdt cooldown, and that's without any mana recovery scaling. Also, there are brand clusters that give 35% to cast 2 brands, which could scale it further.

I toyed around with this a bit in POB. Kitaava's thirst or poet's pen to cast the brands seemed promising. Some builds that could work are manastorm or manabond. Indigon is problematic because the brands start to cost more than they recover. Regardless, this could give any MoM character crazy sustain.

However, my passion for the league has waned amid rsi issues, so I thought I'd put this info out there to hopefully see someone do a nutty build with it. Calling u/jousis.

Helix feels terrible. Change my mind

    Posted: 16 Nov 2021 03:54 PM PST

I played Helix raider up to 95 and I get it. Single target is great. But the playstyle when mapping feels terrible. Apparently the playstyle is drop a helix and go, but it feels like you're leaving strangling mobs behind everytime. Doesn't feel like a clean clear if that makes sense.

    Anyone feel the same?

    Replica Mageblood FlaskStacker (In-Progress)

    Posted: 16 Nov 2021 12:37 PM PST

Hello, builders and theory crafters (:
I recently saw a video where the flask enchant, "Gain 7 Flask Charges when you're hit" was used to automatically trigger flasks (which also triggered % life recovery from Pathfinder) and basically ensured perma-flask uptime. That mechanic heavily inspired this build and I love idea of life recovery on flask (instead of using Aegis Aurora with ES).

I'd really love help making the tree a bit more efficient and any suggestions are appreciated. I want to keep the build under or around 100ex, which makes it (at the very least) 1/3rd of the price of a Mageblood and that's not counting the other items you'd need for a true Mageblood build.

This is the Replica Mageblood FlaskStacker
    https://pastebin.com/BXuwWFya (OLD)
https://pastebin.com/nkYAYSL1 (Updated, thanks to everyone for the suggestions: we took Chaos Resistance on the open suffixes, took away Clever Thief for a Mana Leech node near Essene Sap, and took away a few cluster points. The build is now within the passive limit and has a bit more defense against Chaos)

Mechanics / things to know about this build:

~100~150% increased flask charges gained +
    ~10% reduced charges used +
    ~40% increased flask effect +
+7 charges gained on hit +
+6% of life recovered per flask used +
"Flask is used upon reaching full charges" enchant +
etc. stuff (e.g. 1 charge every 3s, 20% change to not use charges) =
every time you're hit, you'll be gaining 24% of your life back, instantly

Since we're using Petrified Blood, that recovery is effectively doubled (since you're always on half your max life). So 58% of your life will be "effectively" recovered, instantly, on getting hit. This is actually better than that Aegis Aurora, since you need to block (which is a 75% chance) vs. just getting hit at all.

Low life pool (issue I want to hopefully fix) is protected by 400-600k armor through Iron Reflexes, auras, high max. all res, and flask buffs.

Assuming you're always hitting (and critting), you can have 100% uptime on Bottled Faith, even with the .2s cooldown on recovering 1 charge per critical strike; also, obviously, 100% uptime on all your other flasks.

83~88% all resistances (with purities), this could go higher with double-corrupt March of the Legion, but that's way over budget and at that point you may as well buy a Mageblood. You can get a single corrupt version for 9~12ex, which is a staple of our build.

15-25mil DPS (depending on what buffs are up) or if you're actually running full Awakening gems (

This build relies on 3 large clusters, 2 medium flask clusters, and 6 Introspection small clusters (which is honestly what most of the budget is spent on, other than a decently rolled crit watcher's eye).

Dual Wield Replica Dreamfeather. I'm fully aware that poe.ninja inflators use this, then swap over to Aegis, but since we don't use ES, it's actually possible just to use both the RDFs, and it's infact the BiS item (plus they are extremely cheap).

I'm totally open to suggestions and just started working on this project, today. Really want to make something that can compete with Mageblood on some level. Thank you.

    Possible FAQs:

Q: You're using full awakening gems, this blows the 100ex budget out of the water? lol
A: Replace the gems, it still has great DPS and does not need them at all. There is room in the budget for some of the cheaper awakened gems

Q: This is with full flasks up lol you have no DPS without your flasks
    A: That's the point.

    Q: Why Smite?
A: Aura stacking increases the Smite buff, but I'm absolutely open to other skill options.

Q: Your mana reservation is way over?
A: We're using March of the Legion, which makes 4 of our auras temporary (at the cost of needed to recast them every 15~30s. So yes, it will appear over, but not actually be over. I was also experimenting with Arrogance on Petrified Blood, but that puts us at 42% of our life, so I've been avoiding it.

    TL;DR:
-Petrified Blood with March of the Legion build, ~100ex budget
-27% less damage taken from fortify (27 stacks of Fortification), 85% all res, 530k armor, 750 life regen, and 60% of our effective life healed instantly, on being hit
-Around 18mil DPS in a perfect scenario
-Life is a bit low, so we are vulnerable to degen; especially from Chaos, so we took Arakaali and Abberath to counter that

NOTICE: IF YOU'RE ACTUALLY GOING TO BUILD THIS, I HAVE NOT FULLY BUILT IT IN-GAME, YET. I DO NOT WANT TO MISSLEAD YOU.

    Arakali fang vs Simu 30

    Posted: 16 Nov 2021 10:24 PM PST

Is this build able to do simu 30? I'm talking about squire version. Or it's based on mods that I get on waves 20-30? Most builds that i get recommended to do simu are lacking in 20-30. How about this one? Could you give me some pobs or nicknames that I can inspire on? Cannot afford mageblood, but 150 ex would be solid start for this build - if not correct me

[3.16] Cold Shockwave Totem - 7.1M sDPS without flasks!

    Posted: 16 Nov 2021 02:11 PM PST

I play this build every leagues since the introduction of the Astral Projector ring!

We lost lot of damage in 3.15..

But thanksfully (thanks to cold mastery and other changes), in 3.16 we gained a TON MORE!

I sketched a build for 3.16 right after patch notes dropped, it was pretty promising! 3.16 Old Draft Build

Now that the league dropped and i got to play it, i managed to perfect the build!

Result: 7.1M sDPS! without any flasks!

My current PoB (4.8M sDPS without flasks): https://pastebin.com/zPy8Nf4r

Here is the (in progress) build guide: W.I.P Build Guide

Here are some videos i recorded:

I recomand everyone to try it, it's super fun!

Hopefully it doesn't stay a niche build and people get to experiment more with Shockwave Totem, i seen people play around a fire version, wich seems strong!

What attack/build can we built from this nigh-immortal Pathfinder interaction?

    Posted: 16 Nov 2021 05:42 AM PST

So this guy here found out something awesome:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9M5IdZC-UrQ

Basically, you can get "+7 charges on being hit", combine it with "use when flask reaches full" and some increased charges gained / reduced charges used, to basically trigger 5 flasks on hit, every time without cooldown. This together, with the Pathfinder ascendency "Master Surgeon" gives us 6% of life for each flask used, so basically we regen 30% of life for every single attack we get hit by. This leads to the character being nigh-immortal to everything but DoTs and big crits.

The question now is: What can we make from this?

I am currently in the story, leveling this character and I'm using Toxic Rain, but idk if that's the way to go.

I thought about CoC Ice Spear maybe?

    Any other ideas?

How much conc effect en slower projectiles is enough for Molten strike to shotgun?

    Posted: 17 Nov 2021 04:43 AM PST

I'm playing accuracy stacking / doryanis prototype jugg with Molten strike and so far the build is doing great, especially for the budget until now. I have 25% slower projectiles from the tree, a slower projectile support, sand stance and concentration support. But it sounds like a lot of investment for just getting the projectiles to overlap. Can I cut some things from this list without losing boss dps?

I am looking for a build designed for it ? Do you have any recommandation ? I am currently playing a classic Toxic Rain Champion, but I don't mind playing another character if needed.

    Thanks in advance !

    Mana reservation issue

    Posted: 17 Nov 2021 03:59 AM PST

    Hi!

I just looked up a herald of thunder build on ninja and it apparently have over 100% mana reserved and no sure which skill shouldn't reserve mana or its something else. Aspect of the spider seems to be a good damage buff and its not an herald so it can be used with lone messenger, artic armor on the other hand doing nothing special, so I suspect its not active, but other similar build on ninja have the same gems so not sure.

    Possibilities of other conversions?

    Posted: 17 Nov 2021 12:10 AM PST

Hey i'm struggling to find any form of Cold to Lightning conversion in the game? Is this even possible at all, or no because the ratios are different for each damage type? Asking for a friend, i had a sick build idea but no conversion options that i can see.

I think I finally created a decent Burning Arrow build

    Posted: 16 Nov 2021 01:58 PM PST

My first attempt was as Trickster with focus on Ignite. Ended up pretty bad. Then, I tried to split the focus between damage-on-hit and Ignite with Scion. Didn't work out either. So, I came to the conclusion that the ways we approach the new Burning Arrow are wrong and I tried a completely different approach. I focused on damage-on-hit, partially ignoring the Ignite part and only making sure that the enemy is ignited so that I can get the flat damage bonus. And it turned out to be good.

The build I tried this concept on though is not a regular Burning Arrow build. It's a miner build with Blastchain Mine as Saboteur. And it seems pretty good. I focused on crit with Marylene's Fallacy along with taking full advantage of Born in Shadows and Explosives Expert and I added Herald of Ash for better clear due to the absence of Proliferation. The build has also decent defenses -around 6800 EHP and decent evade + Ghost Dance- and boss damage looks good. I'm tempted to try it as my second character this league, although that is one of a few builds competing for that spot, not to mention I'm far from done with my first character.

Anyway, here's my pob for whomever wants to take a look:

Is my Deadeye int stacker going to feel bad with a 50ex budget?

    Posted: 16 Nov 2021 02:16 PM PST

Hi!I've been farming for a second build, got around 50ex to throw on an int stacking wander power siphon/kb deadeye. It's my dream build and I always wanted to make this character.

Problem is: my friend is making the same build, but he's got a lot more playtime than me, so he bought all his gear and he also got a Mageblood. He said that he spent around 100x (excluding the Mageblood) and the build still doesn't feel good.

I watched CaptainLance's Int Stacker video guide and studied his PoB. I was very excited to make the build (was going to craft all my gear), but since my friend told me that the build feels "not-so-good" at 100ex + Mageblood, I've got a bit demotivated.

What do you guys think? Do you think that 50ex is not going to make the build feel good? I was planning on going full-craft on high/medium budget from CaptainLance's PoB (prioritizing wand, atziri's mirror, according to his priority list)

    Occultist or Assassin CoC

    Posted: 17 Nov 2021 03:21 AM PST

    Hey!

So I started with saboteur and switched to autobomber assassin. Now i'm almost lvl 97, and kinda lazy to level a new character, altough it wouldn't be that big of a deal i know.

Now my question is, that on poe.ninja i see that most CoC builds are now occultists with ice spear, and much less ice nova assassins.

I couldn't really find answers on why exactly, so i'm just asking here, how are these builds compare, pros/cons? Why is occultist preferred so much now? Should I level an occultist?

(note: added value of leveling an occultist, that i'm planning to reroll to elementalist later on in the league anyway, so i'm not too against it)

Is POEDB not Showing Possible Scourge Mods Anymore?

    Posted: 17 Nov 2021 02:43 AM PST

Previously if you checked an item class like claws, PoEDB would show the possible scourge upsides and downsides near the bottom of the list.

About a week ago, these sections vanished.

The global scourge mod table still exists, but it is super inconvenient.

Lightning build. Ignite build. Advice on 2 archetypes to try for a long time casual (unique ideas appreciated)

    Posted: 17 Nov 2021 02:11 AM PST

    Howdy,

I have played for a long time (golden kiwi crew) and love the game, but the age old life in the way issue means I have never transcended being basically a casual at the game.

I have played lots of builds, and usually approach build making by stealing a pob and adapting it. I just need them to not be super expensive.

    A house renovation and move over last league and scourge launch has meant I have not been able to get hands on with a lot of changes, and was looking to see what the consensus is on the route to go down for these types of builds I want to make/play;

Lightning caster - I want to play a self caster lightning spell. I am not sure how gutted archmage is and I never tried it in is hayday. Are these types of build essentially 'not good' without super investment?

Ignite - obviously been few changes here. I have played burning arrow chieftain and liked that, but wanted to see if anyone had any unique ideas. Not a huge fan of brands is only thing I would potentially avoid. Wave of conviction on elementalist looks interesting but not sure on how it works on a budget.

My goals are never to reach super endgame usually, but I should be able to play a hefty amount from next league start so I would want to push relatively far. I have not done maven yet and that content as a rough goal.

Thanks for anyone who can take the time to have a think!

Help With My COC EOW Inquisitor

    Posted: 16 Nov 2021 10:22 PM PST

Just made this build today and it seems pretty good but different from other COC I have played. First of all I am no where near the attack rate cap and really need ways to get my APS up, I realise this is partly because of using Mjolnir is main weapon which segways into my next question. Literally almost everyone on poe.ninja playing this build is using Mjolnir over Cospris, im not really sure why is it just because of the +1 chain? Also I realise im low lvl and clusters would help with damage but my damage does seem pretty low (clear and tankiness are respectable), anyways im not the best player so im sure there are mistakes in my build if anyone could just take a look and let me know what to upgrade/fix that would be great, atm the build clost me around 15ex and I can get a few more ex for upgrades and whatnot.

EDIT: I also seem to have a lot of empty gem slots if anyone has ideas for what to fill them with just let me know (maybe a CWDT molten shell setup?)

    Thanks!

Help! My LL Coc Mjölner Inquisitor damage and survivability!

    Posted: 16 Nov 2021 07:39 PM PST

    Hi y'all,

I'm looking for a fun build that also can do all content to play this league and came across this build with arc and Mjölner.
So I invested more than 10 ex in it. I've been stuck and dying a ton in at high-tier red maps. I can do Conquerors but not rly comfortable and take some time.
My character now is lv 85 and this is my character: View Profile - Path of Exile - tan3584

also the Pob: https://pastebin.com/BM1NstTi i have around 5k7 ES but idk why the pob's showing 4k8
What can i do to improve the damage and also any tip to survive as a LL build ? Thanks you all

    Posted: 17 Nov 2021 01:33 AM PST

    pastebin.com/GUn4GtiF

At the moment, my planned upgrades are.. in no particular order

    • upgrading small clusters for chaos res
    • buying 3 passive voices
    • getting added lightning damage dreamfeathers (scourge)
    • getting +1 frenzy, +2 aura skill, +1 all skill hands of the high templar

Anyone got any pointers? Particularly to improve dps

Mana sustain can be a bit janky, would love to get rid of replica conq efficiency for a corrupted blood immunity but i have no jewel slots.

Wanted to test the build out, bricked The Hidden white (breachstone bosses). Mapping is ok, not great (came from HoT autobomber). Have just 2 or 3 exalts left to spend. Thanks!

Looking for feedback - Cobra Lash/Plaguebearer Trickster [3.16]

    Posted: 16 Nov 2021 06:35 PM PST

So foreward, I haven't properly theorycrafted a build since probably Metamorph.

I was levelling a shadow for the fun of it, playing around with levelling abilities and was really loving Cobra Lash, wanted to see if I could come up with a build focused around the ability. A friend and I bounced the passive tree back and forth to each other until we were satisfied and I came up with skill links that kind of support the play style, but I dunno if the build 'works' for end game content considering the type of ability Cobra Lash is.

Anyway, in regards to the gear on the PoB ignore everything but the Taproot, Dendrobate and Embalmers. I just threw the gear I had on a Flicker Raider at the time on just to populate the field and give an idea of stat effectiveness etc.
