Path of Exile Builds Speed Demon! 3.16 Lightning Arrow Deadeye Build

Speed Demon! 3.16 Lightning Arrow Deadeye Build

    Posted: 05 Nov 2021 01:23 PM PDT

This build has tremendous clear and single target damage, by taking advantage of lightning arrow (LA) shotgunning and tornado. It is extremely snappy, with fast movement speed and attack speed, and is able to clear t16 delirium, scourged maps and double beyond very easily. Fun build can almost the full game's content (corrupted blight is tough but I don't think anyone has a fool-proof strategy yet) including A8 Sirus.

*Can't seem to edit title…had a bit of a brain dead moment and said deadeye in the title - it's a Slayer *Added masteries section since PoB is being weird

Quick video while...not totally sound of mind. Any erratic movement can be contributed to 2 or 3 whiskeys... https://youtu.be/ImW-Hgnyllk

    Pros:

    • Great clear. Lightning arrow autotargets and shotguns groups of enemies. Arrows travel extremely fast, scaling off both projectile and arrow speed, so you get the fun feeling of 'fragging' the screen.
    • Excellent single target - will detail the mechanics a bit more later, but basically hydrosphere+tornado+vengeant cascade all shotgun off each other, allowing LA to finally overcome its weakness of single target.
    • Fun playstyle - You essentially only press 1 button to attack, and 1 button to dash (can keep blood rage on left mouse click).
    • Excellent sustain - You're slayer, so you have great sustain as we all know. Endless flask nodes let you sustain when leech isn't up
    • Relatively cheap - it requires an Asenath's Chant as a minimum, but other than that most gear can be bought with a few chaos. Slayer let's you use Hopeshredder very comfortably, and Hopeshredder can compete with 50ex bows very easily.

    Cons:

    • Defenses - you have 40-60K evasion and 91% spell suppression, so it can do t16 maps very reliably. However, you're no juggernaut, and maps with +50% accuracy or -75% evasion are very scary in t15+ unless you want to spend a couple points into iron reflexes. I run at 4.2K life pretty comfortably, but you can definitely bump that up if you're willing to sacrifice some offense (imo the best defense).
    • No explosions - you don't freeze due to secrets of suffering, so no HoI. Don't shock on hit so inpulsa's is out. Technically you can use an explosion chest which would definitely help, but it is very, very hard to drop Hyrri's Ire.

    How it works - Offense

    • Lightning arrow, along with kinetic blast, are the only two skills which can shotgun off of each pierce/chain/fork. Hydrosphere and tornado provide two targets for LA to pierce, for triple damage. But wait! With Vengeant Cascade annointed and +2 pierce, your arrows will return back to you and pierce the hydrosphere/tornado again, for five times damage!
    • Cold damage stacking - Hyrri's Ire + Hopeshredder + frenzy charges is a ton of flat added cold
    • Ailment abuse - being cold-based allows you to have brittle, which lets you crit cap even with Marylene's Fallacy. Bows typically have a hard time getting crit multi, but not with Marylene's. Summon Skitterbots + unbound ailment + bonechill lets you still shock and chill, increasing damage taken by 60%+. With Marylene's and Arn's Anguish, you deal 18x damage, allowing you to hit higher brittle numbers - synergizing these damage sources.
    • Arn's Anguish - Slayer lets you stack frenzy charges and also get more endurance charges, which you convert to brutal charges with this belt. With 7 frenzy charges and 7 brutal charges you get 28% more damage, 28% increased attack speed, 21% chance to deal triple damage, and 70% increased stun threshold. You can use Warlord's Mark for endurance charge generation and frenzy on crit crafted on quiver or anomalous blood rage for frenzy charge generation

    How it works - Defense

    • High evasion + wind dancer. 60K evasion gives you ~86% chance to evade. This means if you dodge the first hit, you'll evade the next 5. However, if you get hit, then your evasion jumps to give you 90% chance to evade, meaning you'll dodge the next 10 hits. You should definitely not get hit by another attack within 10 hits, so wind dancer is definitely worth it
    • 7 brutal charges gives 70% increased stun threshold, essentially making it so you never get stunned (the amount of damage it would take to stun you would be enough to kill you).
    • Evasion builds typically have low sustain and issues with stun, so when you get hit once you essentially die. The brutal charges prevent stun, and slayer provides tremendous recovery. However, the main issue with vaal pact is that there are sometimes awkward moments where you have nothing to leech but are taking damage/degen, like caustic or burning ground, bleed, traps, etc. Flask recovery (1 charge/second) even out these moments, making the build feel much more comfortable

    Gear

    • Weapon - Hopeshredder bow - this bow with 7 frenzy charges can have 500+eDPS (with half of the phys damage converted to lightning). It also provides enormous 3.5% leech (very good with Slayer) and very high movement speed. Its downside - cold damage taken per second - is entirely negated by Slayer overleech. However, a perfect cold damage, +2 arrows, IAS and cold pen bow does ~10% more damage in this build. Also this bow is cheap so I highly recommend corrupting them until you get socketed gems are linked to onslaught.
    • Quiver - Couple options, and some very good offensive ones. Quivers now come with very high cold damage, and +1 arrows. Those are probably the 2 most important, while critical multi is a little less important than normal since you get so much from Marylene's. Also you can use Replica Soul Soulstrike which gives some dps and a massive 40% increased maximum life recovery from leech. This quiver can help with reduced life recovery maps. Slayer gives 100% increased recovery from leech entirely counteracting 80% reduced recovery from the quiver. Lastly if you want you can get resists here, though I'd recommend getting them from rings gloves and boots instead. Make sure to keep an open suffix for frenzy charge on crit, otherwise you'll need an anomalous blood rage (quite expensive).
    • Helmet - Asenath's Chant - this item is even more required than hopeshredder, since technically you can use other bows. Tornado and hydrosphere both have long cast times and are not fun at all to manually cast. Also you must put Warlord's mark in here since a Warlord mark on hit ring doesn't have quality and thus doesn't give you chance to gain endurance charges on hit. Lastly this gives you extremely quick and reliable power charge generation with power charge linked to tornado and hydrosphere.
    • Chest - Hyrri's Ire is tough to beat. Massive cold damage, equivalent of a 7th gem, huge evasion, and high spell suppression are all excellent. Only weakness is that it does not come with life. Alternatives is a +curses/increased crit for attacks chest with a frostbite ring, though chances are you are sacrificing a lot of evasion/spell suppression even if you have slightly more life
    • Gloves - +frenzy charges, accuracy, ias, life, resists are the most important stats in order. If you really want to and don't need the stats above Abhorrent Interrogation can boost your brittle levels significantly
    • Boots - Tailwind+elusive is the end goal, with tailwind being the priority. These boots allow you to run at giga speeds without being a deadeye or raider. I craft movement speed+immune to chill, though MS+MS when not hit or MS+onslaught on kill are both great.
    • Amulet - tough to beat Marylene's for damage. Bows don't have many sources of crit multi from the tree, so this will likely count for over half of your crit damage. Annoint vengeant cascade.
    • Rings - Stats, resistances, life. Best for damage would be Mark of the Elder+shaper/redeemer ring, but stats are important here.
    • Belt - Arn's Anguish gives 21% chance to deal triple damage, 70% increased stun threshold, good life and fire res. BiS and cheap - you can corrupt for some fun properties like crit during flask effect
    • Jewels - large cluster with fuel the fight. Feed the fury gives enormous dps if you can find it with fuel the fight

    Gems

    • Clear: Lightning arrow + GMP + Pierce + Inspiration/Lifetap + Mirage Archer/Cold Penetration/Awakened Added Cold damage/Elemental damage with attacks
    • Single Target: Barrage/Anomalous barrage + Inpiration/Lifetap + Cold penetration + Mirage Archer/Awakened Added cold damage/Elemental damage with attacks
    • Summon skitterbots + Unbound ailments + Bonechill + Enlighten
    • Hydrosphere + Tornado + Powercharge on crit + Warlord's mark (in helm)
    • Grace + Blood Rage + Dash + Arctic Armour/Herald of Ice (can also add hatred + enlighten)
    • If you really want to wreck bosses you can have a weapon swap with ballista totem setup. This would be Ballista totem + LA + Barrage + Elemental damage with attacks + multiple totems + Elemental damage with attacks + Inspiration/Lifetap

Passives and ascendancies * Slayer leech enables hopeshredder and provides great sustain overall. Also gives 10% dmg reduction * Same endurance as frenzies let's each frenzy charge give more dmg, inc ias, chance to deal triple dmg and inc stun threshold. Amazing * Slayer culling just feels soooooo gooood. Most bosses have a rage mechanic where they are really strong under 25% health but you ignore that completely * you can use a writhing jar to get 10% more dmg against bosses with its ascendancy * Masteries - evasion - cannot be stunned until you have been hit recently until you have arn's anguish, then switch to Grace has 25% mana reservation efficiency. Elemental - exposure applies at least -18% resistance, Reservation - 15% increased reservation efficiency of skills. Critical - 25% unique enemies multiplier or 50% increased ailment effect. Bow - Phasing on kill. Suppression - +10% suppression for gloves, boots and armour being evasion, and crit chance based on suppression. Life - +50 life and 10% increased life with 10% reduced recovery rate. Flask mastery - utility flask charges. Cold - -5% cold res on cold exposure.

    SSF friendly Mageblood builds?

    Posted: 06 Nov 2021 01:21 AM PDT

Managed to get a Mageblood from Gwennen so I'm looking for the next level build. I currently have a cold dot occultist and a rf inquisitor, so it's a bit of a waste. Any ideas will be appreciated. Quick chart I found: https://i.redd.it/oiiu5gq3vvt71.png

Needing help w/ steel champion, 750 deaths and 20ex investment later, I have failed my last 3 sirus

bit of info, I saw someone post the build on this subreddit before the league started, then saw a guide by bigducks and I was like surely if one of the youtubers makes a video about this build, it will slam...

I like how fast the build is but I am struggling to survive a lot. I spent a day or two spamming reforges in the garden for the helmet, it's far from perfect but it has helped my single target

Looking for any kind of advice to push further, I flopped 3 breachlord invitational 3-4 days ago. I had a skelly mage in ultimatum where I cleared everything and it sucks to suck at the moment
I'm open to the idea of rerolling, thank you for advice/input and for reading!

    EDIT: the last 2 additions to my build has been inspired learning and a watcher's eye with impale lasting 2 additional hit. I guess my immediate questions to try to improve my build are the following;

is my 5.7k HP pool not enough for petrified blood and blood thirst ?

Is inspired learning sub par for a melee projectile physical build ?

fast endgame clearers for mid-high investment (50-100ex)

    Posted: 06 Nov 2021 02:46 AM PDT

    hi,

i've been playing TS poison occultist so far. i like the build; it does a lot of damage, clears nicely, and was a good starter. things i don't like:

    (1) it's very squishy, and i cant level in my most profitable content (nem3/beyond, deli maps, etc)
    (2) it's literally slow. lioneyes paws have 20% movespeed, and i can't easily get things like onslaught, elusive, tailwind, frenzy charges, etc
    (3) minor, but TS is kind of awkward sometimes. it doesnt always hit what you want and feels clunky with lower attackspeed.

i have some ~60ex right now, can get a good chunk more if i sell off my current gear, and wouldn't mind farming a bit more before switching builds. i'm looking for something that:

    (1) zooms
    (2) clears delirious nem/beyond harby maps. i don't care about bossing
    (3) can safely clear those maps, and/or high scourge stacks. i don't need the build to be some unkillable monster tanking die beams and shaper slams, but i don't want to be scared of as many random packs as i am right now.
    (4) can do this with my initial investment. im happy to play something that does well with more (even much more) investment, but i dont want a barrier of hundreds of exalts before the build starts to function
    (5) isn't CF TS glad because i already cast TS a lot this league
    (6) it would be cool if i could use blast freeze, because i think it's fun

    i was looking at possibly:

    (1) int stacking
    (2) aura stacking
    (3) some flavor of brander, storm or penance
    (4) winter orb occultist
    (5) a hot autobomber but these guys seem paper squishy

Elementalist ignite build need your help and advice

    Posted: 05 Nov 2021 08:39 PM PDT

    Hello exiles,

I just finished the story of my third character these league. It is an Elementalist with main focus on burn damage. It is my first time I'm using pob hope I got it right.

This is my current passive tree from pob:

    https://pastebin.com/nTQd3zab

level 71 elementalist, %inc from life from tree 115% and I currently have 3,322 life which is not enough.

This would be my level 100 pob:

    https://pastebin.com/04hNUsp0

level 100 elementalist, %inc from life from tree 173%.

I'm using flameblast to apply my burn damage at range but I really hate it. Monsters are often running around and i can't fully channel this spell. Is there any alternative for flameblast ? would be better to just use the standard fireball or ?

As you can see I have 6 empty weapon slots I don't know what to do. I was trying to get that Fire Burst on hit on a 2 hand staff. I was trying to build the autobomber from TrollErgoSum

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHe7Q5ezpe0

I like the passive "Unwavering Stance" (cannot evade attacks, cannot be stunned) because I have problems in the Azurith Mines and often die in a stunlock. I think.

I would appreciate your help and your suggestions, do I also have the right cluster jewels ? what would you change to get more life and damage ?

    thank you in advance

Build with huge dps/clear and decent defenses for +-50ex?

No zombies, specters, totems or mines please, I want to deal damage myself. I would REALLY like to clear wave 30 too. I think with 50 ex some build should be doable to do it.

Right now I just rage quitted after dying to normal Shaper with almost bis stuff (phys cyclone glad). Similar build was really good in ultimatum, but after nerfs I don't wanna touch it again

Hi yall, i really appreciate any help!

I'm running a double setup, one for single target and other for general mapping

    - cwc hexblast ignite ( 1,2M ignite DPS)

    - punishment self cast + hexblast ignite (3,8M ignite DPS)

The defensive layers i'm trying to use are:- Enfeeble

    - malediction

    - i'm testing frostbite instead of temporal chains

    - ES

    - vaal discipline

    - ~20% block chance for spells (staff)

    - 3 endurance charge

    - cwdt immortal call

i do turn off enfeeble and turn on malevolence on the single target setup to be able to use punishment. while mapping i just take a hit and die, no matter what...

What could i do to not die ?

late league starter looking for a solid overall build

    Posted: 06 Nov 2021 04:01 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

I want to start soon with the new scourge league on SC trade. I m not a completely noob in PoE ( did already much of endgame stuff such as Sirus, Maven etc. ) - but I am far away of considering myself even "experienced" .

Thats the reason I am looking for a solid overall "all-content-viable" and tanky build for 3.16 . I dont mind what playstyle / gem I need to use. I just dont want to die randomly because I didnt pay attention for a second. Beside of that, I need to play on my laptop via geforce now right now , so its even more better to have a tanky build with "nobrain" mechanics. :D

If you have any tips, I would be glad to hear that. If I cant decide myself soon, I guess I have to go just Toxic Rain Champ (lightee ones).

    Thank you very much !

Help to choose a mapper build for T1/ T14-16 scourge maps

    Posted: 05 Nov 2021 10:02 PM PDT

As stated in the title... Need a build that's able to screen clear maps with minimal buttons, don't need to be able to boss effectively.

Current strategies that I'm looking at to use the build for :

    1. Essence farming
    2. T1 scourge maps
    3. Tower (low tier)
    4. Expedition farming
    5. Blight farming
    6. Underground Seas (300stacks quant farming)

Could use some pros/cons with guides to help me decide :D

Many thanks in advance everyone, heard that this sub is the best for these kinds of questions.....

Tips/suggestion on how to level a MF Kinetic Blast Deadeye?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2021 07:15 PM PDT

So, I've saw a post that some dude posted here asking about MF builds and it got me interested in trying a Kinetic Blast version and maybe later change it to Lightning Arrow. I'm planning to only run low tier maps but I've got a question about the leveling process.

Is it OK to just follow a Kinetic Blast POB or is it better to level with something else first?

Here is the POB I'm following, its Manni character.

    https://pastebin.com/z92bQELL

I wanna give Kinetic Blast a try first caus I've got curious to play it but I have the curency to change it to Lightning Arrow or Tornado SHOt later.

    Any tip is appreciated! Thanks!

    What's up with cyclone DPS?

    Posted: 06 Nov 2021 03:59 AM PDT

Look: https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds/char/champis/cty_scourge this guy with pretty scuffed gear is lvl100 and has a cyclone DPS of 262k. That seems low for lvl100.

I am following this, I am lvl47 and POB tells me my cyclone deals a grand total of 5K DPS. But I did cruel lab and while it took some spinning, it wasn't particularly hard. I had much worse lab experiences -- especially this low a level.

I have a feeling whatever poe.nina/PoB calculates for cyclone DPS is vastly lower than what the game does. Am I crazy? Or is DPS really low but both cty_scourge and my build have so much defense at their respective levels it just doesn't matter the DPS is low because we can wait until everything dies :) ?

Mine is https://pastebin.com/z9TnT4aj (the quicksilver flask and the Ngahamu ascendancies are past lab so they didn't play a role)

Phys cyclone champ hitting a wall at 91 -- need advice (PoB)

    Posted: 05 Nov 2021 11:46 PM PDT

Hi all, this is my second ever char and I'm looking for advice.

My skill tree is pretty expansive from West to East...

    My DPS seems sub-par.

My pathfinder had more HP than this guy at level 90 (last season).

I've got ~6ex ready to spend on upgrades. Should I get that up to ~9 for a paradoxica? Is 2 hander the way to go?

My belt and ammy are focused on clear speed (perma onslaught and movespeed) -- they may be a weak link.

I was lucky enough to find and level an enlighten but I'm not sure I'm using it the best way.
