How hard is it to gear for RF?

    Posted: 22 Dec 2021 02:20 AM PST

I'm currently a deaths oath occy and at the point where it takes quite a bit of investment to further improve and figured it's better to just change builds altogether. I love how I can just shield charge pack to pack and everything just dies. Then swap to bow and use CA on a boss. Highest I've done are like red 13's or so w/o much trouble but I know anything higher and I'm dead. Pob for my DO dmg is like 150k, CA around 420k.

RF seems to do the same thing but better. If you zip by a mob, that mob will die from the ignite. You don't have that sort of benefit with DO. You also don't need to swap (in my personal setup) from a shield to bow to use CA as you are already using the shield and can just use your special beam cannon.

YEARS ago it was a pain in the ass to get going with RF trying to balance regen and resists, but it seems recently it might be easier. Are there any guides to follow to get me going? I've never bossed before or gotten into high red maps and it seems that rf is once again a staple spell.

Unsure where to go with my Necromancer from here.

This has been my first league back after a multi-year break (I think at the time I left the upcoming league was going to be Bestiary? I remember pokemon jokes), and I've been having a pretty good time. I've been playing a general summoner that slowly evolved into this pure physical minion army as I incorporated stuff I read on the main PoE subreddit that I hadn't thought of.

Right now I'm at a point where I can clear vanilla t16 maps pretty easily, but any content added on top of them seems out of my reach. My damage is too low to keep up with the incursion timer, and harvest mobs kill me very easily. Those are the first two to come to mind, but there's plenty more and really I feel like I've just hit a threshold and need something to push past it.

If I had to guess, gear is probably a big one. I'm not technically in SSF...but due to some personal issues I'm working through I might as well be. There seem to be a lot of new systems for improving gear since last I played, so I imagine if I used them right I could be doing much better than my current setup of "the best of the random stuff I've had drop while getting this far".

    Righteous Fire Trickster

    Posted: 21 Dec 2021 11:08 PM PST

Im a new player who has been wanting to play a righteous fire build

My understanding is that jugg/inquis/guardian/trickster are the most common ascendancies for rf. however, trickster is more offense whereas the other 3 more defense.

i was wondering if anyone has a 3.16 guide for RF trickster?

    Awakened Multistrike

    Posted: 21 Dec 2021 04:28 PM PST

I've just dropped an awakened multistrike support. I am planning to sell it and get a headhunter, but I was wondering if having it can enable a build and single handedly take something from good to exceptional. I am basing the question on the price of the gem because it's leagues above in price compared to other woke gems.

Other than the gem, my budget can't go above 30-35ex.

Suggestions for build for max crucible challenge?

    Posted: 21 Dec 2021 09:39 PM PST

I currently have a LS raider that's plenty fast but now I just want to chain low tier maps all into speed & damage. I was thinking between DO Occy & HoT autobomber, but was wondering if there were more faster builds than those?

wand vs bow for speedclearing maps?

    Posted: 21 Dec 2021 03:03 PM PST

on paper it seems like a no-brainer that bows are better than wands due to mirage archer but a lot of stuff i'm seeing is that wanders are faster. why is that?

How do i improve my build?

    Posted: 21 Dec 2021 03:14 PM PST

Hey, is this the right place to ask for build advice? Its my first char in endgame and i dont really know where to get my next "powerspike". I can do t15 maps without huge issues. But when it comes to blight maps, sirus and other stuff in endgame i feel like i am missing tons of damage.

Hi I would love to have some feedback on this build, I die quite a bit if I do anything above lvl 12 map.

Could you please enlighten me on how to stack defence?

Any help is appreciated! see you Exiles

cold blade blast blade fall occulist

This is like my second time building a character from scratch and I was wondering if this was a good setup so far.

I only put the manditory gear in, all the missing slots can be filled with defensive gear (energy shield, res, etc).

    edit:

I added defensive rare gears and flasks

Any suggestions for overall good Ice/Freeze based builds?

    Posted: 21 Dec 2021 04:09 PM PST

Any suggestions for overall good Ice/Freeze based builds? Something that uses frost damage and freeze mechanics or relatively simple to setup conversion. Preferably a spell caster Elementalist/Occultist.

Builds I've tried are Ice Shot (Deadeye), Vortex with and without conversion (Occultist/Elementalist), Dancing Icestorm Ascendant and Freeze Miner Trickster. Any other builds I should/could try out?
