    SSF-friendly hit-based bow builds (Ranger)

    Posted: 22 Apr 2022 05:16 AM PDT

My understanding is that hit-based bow builds are typically very gear-dependent but I'm looking to build one as a long term SSF standard project to keep me occupied between leagues. My plan is to start as TR (which I have played several times) but work towards a hit-based bow build (which I have no experience with).

Is this a fool's errand in SSF? I'm thinking TS/LA/Ice Shot/Ele hit. Are any of them viable? Or something like them?

Build for all content and 100?

    Posted: 22 Apr 2022 08:32 AM PDT

Been playing since 2014, have a demanding job, wife, kids, etc. I've played pretty much every build I can think of, only leagues, and usually do okay making in total around 50ex per league. At any given time I find I only have about 10-15ex of that liquid and in stash. There are a few things tho that I've never done- A8 Sirus, Maven, The Feared, and The Hidden. Those are the goals, but what I really enjoy is fast mapping and packs that full screen pop. Plodding through maps with a boss killer is a drag, as is blazing through a map only to get tripped up on the boss or some league mechanic.

This league I started with an EA ballista build, but got tired of everything happening behind me and running back. Switched to skelly mage which was an awesome bosser, but I found was slow through maps. I ended up with a death's oath occultist for fun and clear, and then using the skelly mage when I wanted to go bossing. Pretty consistent theme for me btw, wanting to start every league with one build that can be all, but end up rotating through three or four of them through the league which is maybe not the most efficient.

Are there builds (meta or non) that can help me get to my goals, have the fast pack popping and fun playstyle, and are within my playtime budget? Or does that really need to be two builds? I've also never hit 100 fwiw.

    Leveling RF Inquisitor

This build by Jorgen looks pretty interesting: https://youtu.be/nylnwNMc-xw

There is not that much detail about the leveling process though. Something i need to keep in mind?

Does CWDT + Vaal molten shell work?

    Posted: 22 Apr 2022 03:57 AM PDT

I remembered that the CWDT molten shell will randomly proc and overwrite the VMS so this setup was not really useable. But then I noticed that some of top players are using their VMS in a CWDT setup so has this issue been fixed?

    Best trap skill for clearing

    Posted: 22 Apr 2022 03:00 AM PDT

I haven't played much traps or mines and wanted to try them. I know traps are all decent for single target. But which has the best clear speed between Seismic/Exsangunate, Lightning Trap, Ice Trap and Fire Trap?

Also, in terms of Fire Trap: Ignite vs Hit?

Flask Effect Duration for CWDT Wardloop

    Posted: 22 Apr 2022 06:10 AM PDT

Hey, im currently building a high budget version of the popular cwdt wardloop acendant. A guide i watched told me i need 100% increased flask charges gained (which i have) und 90-100% flasks effect duration for sustaining 4 flasks. All PoBs i looked at seem to lack duration and i wonder if i missed something. My belt gives 33% and the pathfinder acendency some more. Did i miss something?

    Looking for improvements

    Posted: 22 Apr 2022 02:10 AM PDT

I play this toxic rain pathfinder every league - it is homebrew for about 7 leagues and I am looking for advice on improvements. It is poison-based, not toxic rain +level based. It abuses soul eater via zerphi's for cheap, and ghetto fab inspired learning until HH. I use uniques for cheap 6L around 1 ex to get going (haven't had to roll 6L in many leagues now) but am willing to consider anything else. You can see it is unique heavy which is cheap but I haven't found a reason to move to rares (please enlighten if you see something obvious).

This league I went with shrines and gloves open mod, but I am open to anything. Every league it is hella cheap but it cripples out on gross mod dps (which I try to get around with rare mod theft, but still it isn't great on bosses).

The build is fine for everything but bossing can be gimpy @ T16 with gross mods, thus the vaal breach to try and cheat an advantage before getting wrekt. That said, it isn't going to clear any gross boss mods without a lot of death. I usually die hundreds of times to thousands of times per league and crap out between 95 to 97. It generates revenue around 100 to 500 ex per league with me playing pretty casually, but I would like it to suck a bit less. I only play ranger/pathfinder because flask abuse is great but yeah...

RF build feels squishy and all around not satisfying

    Posted: 22 Apr 2022 05:01 AM PDT

    Hey guys

I'm loosely following Pohx's RF guide, and I just got to 72 and tried to do some maps. But the character feels like crap and I don't understand why, here's the pastebin: https://pastebin.com/A6i5qWK6

I have 75k armour, 82% max res and I feel like I shouldn't sometimes get 1shot by regular mobs?

I know I'm only level 72, but I was expecting to be doing better, especially as I already invested a bit on it. I'm just afraid that if I keep investing on it, it will take a long time before it becomes decent.

Also, I intended on transitioning to the explodey setup, that's why I I already bought the asenath's gentle touch. Will this get fixed with levels ( I hope I would be able to get more hp at least, I'm not even hitting 4k) or should I just jump ship?

Regarding the gear, I still need to get decent suffixes on the chest, but it would pretty much just be more chaos res.
