I love damage over time builds, what cool builds are out there?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 10:41 AM PDT

I have been playing seismic posion trap sabo and I have been absolutely loving it, the playstyle is really satisfying, but I am getting kinda bored of it and to be honest, it is really op.

Are there any other cool poison/ignite/bleed builds that could scratch my itch for more dot builds?

I know there are EA totems, but I am not sure if I would enjoy it as much tbh.

Anyone been playing something interesting and kinda viable lately?

A build that can kill uber boss, sim 30 and deep delve for 350ex?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 01:45 PM PDT

After failing a forbidden rite COC build, I sold all the bits and pieces as that build was doing very low damage. Any builds you can suggest that can kill uber bosses, sim 30 and deep delve for 350ex?

I don't care about ascendancy, I'll level up a new char. Since I failed Forbidden Rite CoC please suggest build that are not as complex.

Little damage on arcanist brand desecrate and VD build

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 05:08 PM PDT

    https://pastebin.com/9TPmaCRf

I was trying to make a high end version of Jungroan's arcanist brand desecrate, self-cast VD build, but I'm certain I'm doing something wrong because the damage seems terrible, like 1-2M maximum.

I switched to arcanist brand for both spells, it feels a bit less clunky but still horrible damage.

    Any advice?

    Switching from headhunter to mageblood

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 02:56 PM PDT

I finally saved up enough currency to get a mageblood on my LS Berserker. I changed up my build a bit and decided to test it out, but I feel extremely squishy compared to headhunter. When was able to do wave 30 sims with the headhunter but I died on wave 25 with mb. Even in barely juiced maps I am dying to everything. Is there something Im missing with my build? Pretty disappointed I spent so much time farming for this honestly lol.

Anyone here played underused Spell/Melee skills and still had fun? (like rolling magma or double strike?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 02:39 PM PDT

Just wondering about the builds you guys played this league.

the latest build I'm working on is a crackling lance occultist. Not many are using this skill and really wanted to do selfcast this league, also avoided spark since I played that skill like crazy last league. 50 to 60ex budget and cleared everything. I'm still at Level 95 and only died two times after I got all the gears set up. Not using ashes as well. Crackling lance feels pretty good with the right amount of cast speed :)

Any experienced Ballista players who can weigh in on Hiero vs. Inquisitor for dex stacking?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 02:31 PM PDT

Started a dex stacking Hierophant yesterday and apparently that exact same day a streamer by the name of Palsteron decided to come up with an Inquisitor variant that's supposedly better in a lot of ways. The tree for the two versions looks quite different, so respeccing later would be a pain, and there are no resources for the new version out yet as far as I can see.

Help me find a Build for my first Headhunter, pls!

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 03:55 PM PDT

    Hello!

I'm finally about to buy my first Headhunter and have been searching for a build which has a few requirements (not set in stone). I will have the HH and about a budget of 30 ex to go.

    1. I want the build to be melee, or at least melee-esque. It just feels the most fun for me.
    2. I'd like the build to at least be able to do some bossing, doesn't have to be great or anything at it though.
    3. I hate dying (doesn't everyone), so I'd love for the build to have a decent amount of tankyness and recovery.

So far I've thought about some variations of blade vortex, I don't know which one though, also maybe some version of flicker strike and lastly I was thinking about an armour stacker smite character. Maybe one of these could be good?

Does anyone have any suggestions that would fit my wishes?

Lastly I want to say that this subreddit is amazing, I've never seen such an engaging community helping out so much! Much love, peace <3

New player playing Spark Inquisitor, build is a mess and need some help

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 12:06 PM PDT

    POB: https://pastebin.com/MHJ8PBW2

New player and just started playing this league, this is my second character that I've made. Currently on Act 8 and lost on how to fix my build. There are so many spark inquisitor guides (cold convert? crit stack?) that I tried to mix and match a lot of them and now I have a mess that doesn't do anything well (mana issues, life issues, and damage issues).

I initially started trying to follow goratha's build, but then I saw cold conversion was something a lot of people were doing (and I liked the herald of ice explosions) so I bought 2 call of the brotherhoods. I also got greedy and decided to spec into crit earlier than I should have, and I feel my damage isn't that great yet (I only have about 25% crit chance). I haven't been able to cap resistances either.

Should I continue trying to cold convert, or try to go back to goratha's original build? What auras and flasks should I be running? Is this build still salvageable?

I have around 85c and 2ex in currency from my first character.

    Spectral Helix build for ssf

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 01:23 PM PDT

I've pretty much all of my goals for the league in trade and decided to give ssf a serious try. I mostly play trade as a pseudo-ssf where I try to trade as little as possible, so I though might as well give the real thing a try. My plan is to start with a build that's good at mapping, farm gear for a second character that will be focused on killing bosses, and then use the first character to rush bosses for guardian maps and eater/Exarch invitations. I've settled on spectral Helix, because it both seems to be a solid starter and I've liked the playstyle when I used it for leveling other characters before. I've looked around and there seems to be 3 helix builds - elemental champion, elemental raider and poison pathfinder. I don't really care about their single target since I only plan on killing tutorial versions of eater and Exarch on this character. How do those 3 builds compare in terms of tankiness, recovery and map clear?

Help a casual figure out his issues with Skele mage and RF Inq?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 06:59 PM PDT

Seem to always hit these walls and lose steam. The end goal was to do fully juiced Crimson Temples. Gotten further in this league then ever before. My RF seems to hit a point where I thought Ashes neck would be a huge upgrade. After getting it, didn't seem that much better since I had to swap a DPS ring for a defensive ring to re-coup resistances lost from new neck.

From there I wasted 5-6 maven invites to deaths. I understand the fight, its just near impossible for my stoner brain to remember the final memory game sequence while not getting hit by regen beams...apparently no regen depuffs are really bad for RF.

So I made a skele mage to nuke maven, get my final voidstone. However now my Skele mage survivability is terrible. I instantly die with any mistake. The in game DPS feels good but my POB dps is way lower compared to the guide I'm following.

I have 35 raw exalts and about 50 exalts in raw materials. How would you buff either of these builds the most.

RF build I was following: https://pastebin.com/9nzA0cnq

    My RF build: https://pastebin.com/24kuRxzB

Skele Mage I was following: https://pastebin.com/ESABq5iG

    My Skele Mage: https://pastebin.com/AehKNH0H

Sorry if I'm asking too much or looking for my hand held. I know my Skele mage armor and blocks are too low and probably missing other defensives somewhere, just don't know where. And I know my RF is missing DPS/armour stats on some pieces. But when I look, I just don't see how my character seems squishy and "less" dps compared to boss killer videos I watch.

Just a general, where would 35+ exalts make the most impact? Lots of pieces are already 1-2 exalt range and the "upgrades" are like 20+ exalts in some instances. As in my current gear is 1 ex but adding 1 more stat shows only 3-4 results and they're insanely price. Like a newer "weapon" with the added stat of +18% Damage over time is like 15 exalts or more. Where would the exalts make the most impact?

Any suggestions or help is appreciated. I'm prolly done this league without a little pointer in the right direction. Would love anyone to help guide me. Thank you in advance.

    Updating builds in standard

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 06:53 PM PDT

Hey all. I am a medical student and therefore do not have enough time to play each new league. I have decided to only play on one character on standard as it allows me to play and have fun right away.

However, I have run into issues as my character is from 3.13, and therefore, many things have changed and I am not sure how to update my build. How do you usually go about updating a build? I use a flicker strike gladiator (yes, I like to go zoom zoom). All gems still work and it is fairly good but struggles in terms of survivability at any level and damage in red maps. I use farrul's fur, the surrender, abyssus. Not sure what to do with my passive skill tree and etc. Res are capped, chaos is -27. 5165 armor and 4043 life.

Edit: I have no mana issues or flicker sustain issues

Thank you. I hope I gave enough info. I'll check on this frequently and edit if needed.

    Skele-Mages: Zealotry or Skitterbots

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 11:12 AM PDT

I'm doing a skele-mages build - not exactly one build (Ghazzy, Kay, etc.) but a combination of them I guess.

I know leveling you want to use skitterbots but I switched to zealotry when I got my dead reckoning jewel. Should I still be using skitter bots in my build, and if so, when do I make the switch to zealotry?

I have my PoB of the character if you want to look - there are likely other issues at hand here as well.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 06:34 PM PDT

Hello i pretty much have all the gear i need for a good EA build i just cant decide champ or ele. Is the dmg diff that big keeping in mind i want to finish the league with this so i wanna do all content and be somewhat safe doing it i do prefer to be thick and be able to take a hit but i also dont want to struggle on dps. So is Ele tanky enough to be comfy and does Champion do enough dps itll be my first ever clear of endgame (no ubers ofc) i want to do some challenges also. Thank you in advance!

    Late-league Uber Boss eater

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 12:08 PM PDT

I have played PoE for 3 leagues always advancing a bit more than before, but I have always farmed maps as it seemed much easier than bossing and I didn't knew the mechanics. Now I have farmed myself roughly ~80-90 exes and I was hoping to make a build, which would allow me to take on Uber bosses to see if I enjoy bossing or not.

What build would make Uber bosses most pleasurable and easiest in terms of avoiding all the mechanics?

Any Omni TS minmaxers (tri ele)

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 02:03 PM PDT

Nearing the end of my TS character, got some pretty good damage having fun juicing dmg as much as possible while leaving it not totally horrible dying to white t16 monsters (debatable with ehp of like 72k)

Right now I'm thinking of trying to farm enough where I could sell my bow and mirror Path of Math's phys bow and try converting to cold for a new adventure, or maybe trying to get a mirrored copy of his ele bow for another arrow

I am wondering if anyone has any ideas for upgrades that would increase my damage by like 15% or more, all I know that I can do now is hit level 100, get rings with t1 wed on them (I calculated it and if I got 2 rings with max t1 wed on them I would gain about 8% damage which isn't worth the like almost 100 ex to me), and getting like 6/20 awakened gems which again seems not worth it. Another possibility was getting a large cluster with t1 life t1 attspd, t1 attrib, 35% effect, but I wouldn't know where to get points out of to put it into the cluster

If anyone has any ideas on how to get some decent upgrades that are like 10-15%+ increased damage or can figure out how to make my pob dps go over 500M without making me even squishier (just for fun) I would love to hear it, otherwise I think it's just time to save up for mirrored bow

    cold reap

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 05:41 PM PDT

is this build mostly played for its bossing ability? i am interested in playing it as my final character of the league to sink my currency into, will mageblood + 200 ex be enough to comfortably kill ubers as a noob?

im focused on killing all endgame bosses and want to not have to worry about too many buttons so i can focus on boss mechanics

edit: ive been looking through poe ninja and a lot of these guys have multiple synth + fractured bases, is there a guide or smth that'll let me know what to prioritize?

    Migration

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 01:42 PM PDT

I'm about to be 40/40 for challenges(quite the tall task this league if you ask me) I only get to play about 2 hours a day and then the weekends I can sometimes put in a 10 hour session.

Anyway once I finish 40/40 I was gonna migrate my shit to trade and do a fresh SSF restart. Any build suggestions? I've been playing DD all league with something like 6 days /played so I'm pretty tired of that build.

I was thinking some kinda 2H chill staff zerker or champion would be cool, maybe playing something off meta. Any ideas anyone has out there? Also PoB links would be cool. I play SSF primarily so something that relies on like Omni isnt ideal, something that gets better with Omni is cool, but relying on it would be bad.

    Help progressing Skeleton Mages

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 12:44 PM PDT

I was lucky enough to have a friend quit the league and gift me his mageblood and ashes, so I'm trying to figure out how to progress this character. I've got about 15-20 ex in raw currency that I could use, but I'm not sure where to spend it.

In my stash I have a +2 minion wand w/ minion damage that I just need to get a reforge keeping prefixes on that is probably next.

The Power of Rupturing (Deadeye Node)

    Posted: 28 Jun 2022 03:51 PM PDT

This Deadeye's Node seems uber broken, I'm not joking, here the math :

Let's take an example where we inflict 1000 bleeding damage over 8s duration

Then we have 1000/8 = 125DPS if we ignore Hit that inflict Bleeding

    Now, let's introduce Rupturing

Let's say we got 3 Rupture stack :

    Then we have (1000 * 1.75) = 1750 bleeding damage over ((1/1.75) * 8) = 4.57s duration

Then, we have 1750 / 4.57 = 383DPS if we ignore Hit that inflict Bleeding

    383 / 125 = 3

So you TRIPLE your DPS with a single node

Since Puncture exist, you don't even have to invest on Chance to Bleed, I'm thinking of a build with Melee Puncture Claw Nightblade to go full crit with Perfect Agony to be able to sustain Rupture pretty easily, maybe going Crimson Dance if we can sustain 8 stack.
