    MF build worth doing?

    Posted: 19 Mar 2019 01:39 AM PDT

    Hello guys,

I was wondering if it was any good to do magic find builds as a starter league? What are the absolute pros and cons of this method?

I just want for now to go farm maps and get rich, if possible rotate the build into something more powerful later on, otherwise I'll just run another build later.

Do you have any idea of which mf I should run? I'm fine if it's not really fast early on! However please I don't want to run winter orb I find it horrible to just run into mobs without doing anything else.

    Thanks for reading :)

Establishing what skills & builds feel good vs bad on Xbox/PS4

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 03:21 PM PDT

    Hey All,

Have been playing POE since Incursion league on PC and I'm going to give the PS4 launch a shot. I did some investigations on the Xbox experience when it came to builds, but would like to know if anyone else familiar with the Xbox experience can weigh-in please. Unfortunately I don't own an Xbox otherwise I would have tried testing some of these out myself.

    1. Skills that have target placement (totems and traps for example) can use the Left Trigger to bring up a floating target cursor for more precise placement. Otherwise the skill triggers and auto targets/places in whatever direction your character is facing. This interaction has been described as clunky and/or painful to the point where you don't really want to play a totem build with the controller.
    2. Easiest skills/builds to adapt to are the "set it and forget it" type ones such as Blade Vortex, Winter Orb and Righteous Fire where there's a minimal amount of aiming required.
    3. I couldn't find anything specific about Melee Skills such as Molten Strike or Blade Flurry. I'm assuming it's simple a matter of facing the mobs and spamming/holding button presses in that direction? Is it painful or monotonous to play melee skills on console?
    4. Movement skills such as flame dash suffer from input delay lag or latency much more than PC so you end up "rubber banding" a lot when using these types of skills.

Anyone have any other learnings from the Xbox experience when it comes to builds and skills?

    Thanks in advance!

Winter Orb CoC Ice Spear elementalist - evolution into occultist?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 07:29 PM PDT

    Hi guys,

I am playing Winter Orb + CwC Ice Spear elementalist. Few days ago I dropped unnatural instinct so respected a bit. Now I feel to vulnerable to one shots and generally squishy. Should I respec this into CI occultist? I would like to transition this character more into boss killer. Any ideas? Or milestones that I should pick for Uber Elder?

What is general difference in damage ceiling and cost when playing elemental overload vs crit vs power charge based build?

    Mana sustain soulrend occultist

    Posted: 19 Mar 2019 03:26 AM PDT

So I'm currently level 80 and playing a pure soulrend occultist. Damage is fine but i can't sustain soulrends manacost without a mana flask. I thought about swapping one support for mana leech damage would be fine but IDK Mana leech gem sucks... I dont want to get warlords Mark as I got Tempchains and despair and i dont really want to drop them. How do you guys sustain soulrends manacost? Thanks in advance.

Gladiator Bleed Lacerate; beefy to kill bosses

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 04:14 PM PDT

Hi there, I've been putting some time recently into this idea I was toying around regarding using Bleed. So far I'm still in early mapping so I was hoping to get some insight in what things I could perhaps improve on the skill tree?

    https://pastebin.com/sH4zJhEc

    https://gyazo.com/39395de42b74fbf2c3d27b3b1680b91d

There's the build in path of building so far. After it is a picture of the gear I am running.

I'm running Soul Taker as my 1h weapon right now, really love this weapon for freeing up the mana pool completely, I am using the extra mana for Blasphemy - Vulnerability (with increased AoE), Herald of Purity and War banner. Shield is Lioneye's remorse for big tanky stats.

    main gem link:

    • Lacerate
    • Melee Physical Damage
    • Faster Attacks (considering change to brutality)
    • Deadly Ailments
    • Swift Affliction

Lacerate has 25% base chance to bleed. With a couple easy nodes and the gladiator ascendancy this scales to an exact 100% chance to inflict bleeding.

The strengths of the build is it's overall tankiness and I'm ideally going to focus on having it be very strong for single target encounters like uberlab, shaper and uberatziri etc. With ancestral guardian and vaal dual strike the single target potential is quite good, but I am yet to see if Soul Taker starts slowing down on the damage as the content gets higher level. I am also considering getting a rapier or something with a lot of phys dmg and bleed modifiers for endgame, and at that point probably going Blood Magic for the hp nodes, with the amulet making vulnerability reserve no mana.

Main weakness is the lack of coverage by lacerate. Once you get the bleed explosions going the clear is quite good but the initial connections are a bit short.

Please share your thoughts if you've been playing around with bleed in the past, and if you see fixes for the skill tree so far.

Build guides that hold your hand from leveling through endgame?

    Posted: 19 Mar 2019 02:41 AM PDT

Hey guys, I have a problem with information overload (autism) and also just realized I messed up my build really badly after reaching act 10 from a not-so-clear guide. So I wanna start over with a build that's gonna tell me what to do the entire step of the way. This is my first time playing so I have the absolute basics down but haven't started mapping. I don't know if it's smart to get a currency farming build or just going straight all content viable etc. but your recommendations for very holistic guides would be greatly appreciated.

    Bladefall Trickster

    Posted: 19 Mar 2019 02:15 AM PDT

Im looking for my second build. First build was a Soulrend Trickster which I did mastermind, shaper and currently trying to do Uelder. Since bladefall got a damage buff, Im looking into that. Thinking of going Trickster with elemental conversion with hrimsorrow and phys to lightning. Just wants some second eyes on this.

Since I got devouring from mastermind, Im planing on using 2 auras, and HoI.

Anyone wanna look at my PoB and comment? Im on a private league SSF with around 5-6 others. So buying insane gear is not possible.

I stumbled on an interesting helm I was hoping to make a meme build around. The enchant and craft can both be replaced (though i'm not looking forward to grinding uberlab)

The top candidate right now is [Spectrecide] or something similar using ignite/prolif. I don't necessarily need to use the minion damage multiplier but it would definitely be fun.

Please no "standard" RF or other boring meta builds im looking to hipster out on this one :D

I'm trying to figure my crit chance but that check box does nothing to my crit. Is it broken or somehow already considering that crit chance? I'm using Purifying Flame as Inquisitor if it helps.

    Noob Build Questions

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 09:24 AM PDT

So I'm pretty new to the game. I've only played through the game once. So I am trying to follow and cool beginner builds.

So when they say skills I am to so let in gear, where do I get these skills at? Are some questions specific or do I just wait some time and I can buy them from a vendor?

Also is there a guide out there for just completing the game efficiently? I find myself alot of times going back to old areas to turn in quests or going back because I forgot to pick one up.

Any help on understanding an "average" build would be much appreciated.

Looking for help with EK inquisitor

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 10:27 AM PDT

    Profile :https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/CaptainScags/characters

    character is watarepantseven

So anyways I have some questions about where I should be going from here.

    1. Is my passive tree okay? I hit all my major points so I've just been kinda floundering for like ten levels and I feel like this is really unoptimized. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    2. How do I deal single target damage? I know I should be using blade vortex for it but since my 6 link is dedicated to EK, what sort of link setup should I be looking for with BV?

    3. Where do I go from here? I just started mapping and I'm doing okay but I'm not super sure how to effectively move forward with this build

    4. Any specific flasks I should look for?

This is my first attempt at really trying to seriously play so I'm not terribly sure what I'm doing at this point, any help would be greatly appreciated

Cospri's CoC Ice Nova Ascendancy Question

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 03:52 PM PDT

Eyeing this as my second build for the league as it looks like lots of fun and doesn't seem too hard or expensive to get off the ground

(i have about 10ex for use)

I was wondering what ascendancy to go with.

I've seen both Occultist and Assassin be quite popular choices, any other choices and what would you actually suggest to pick and why?

Looking for a build that mainly uses movement skills

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 12:05 PM PDT

    Hey guys,
I'm looking for a build that mainly uses a movement skill. Most of you probably played diablo and maybe you know a build named "Charg Barb". It's one of my favourite builds ever. I really want to play something similiar in POE.
My first idea was to play a COC Assasin with double Cospris and using Whirling Blades as an activator for the COC, but my veteran POE friend said that it won't really work because you need the attacks per second you get off of cyclone and you miss out on lycosidaes "Your hits can't be evaded".
Next idea was Auto-Bomber, but to really work you need way too much currency.
Would be glad about finished builds or even ideas that I can try to build.
    Thanks in advance :)
TL;DR Looking for a build where you more or less only use movement skills to clear a map (either finished builds or just ideas what I could try to build)

    Best bossing spells?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 03:12 PM PDT

What now are the top bossing spells (Shaper, Elders, maybe some delve boss), while maintaining good clearspeed. Made Soulred for league starter - it was phenomenal for clearspeed and quite comfy for Shaper (didn't try uber elder because I don't enjoy that boss tbh), but damage was just okayish.

So I'm looking for general ideas for new build, obviously as post itself says, a spellcaster. And yes, I know basically any build these days can do Shaper and bla bla bla, but I want more nuke power than Soulrend had. Was thinking about divine ire, but what else?

PS: just no BV, played hell out of it in the past.
