Help Modifying my Delve Pathinder Viper Strike for Synthesis 3.6?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 03:33 PM PDT

In delve I ran a really nice Poison Viper Strike Pathinder with Herald of Agony with the new (at the time) poison proliferation and it felt really good.

With the new addition of Malevolence and the changes to Dual Wielding, I thought I could update the build and make it maybe stronger?

Here is the pastebin - https://pastebin.com/hLaU7tkq

It originally used Breath of the Council alongside a Fossil-crafted claw however this isn't possible anymore with how dual-wielding was changed. I was thinking two fossil crafted claws might be good? But the range might be too low for a melee skill.

The other thing I had in mind was using a Chaos Impresence amulet for the free Despair Aura which would allow me to socket Malevolence somewhere.

Any ideas please let me know!

    Addressing my Winter Orb Elementalist

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 01:15 AM PDT

    Hi there!

Second league player here looking for some advicing about where to address my current WO Ele.

I'm running with a Tabula right now, doing T15 really comfy. Here is the pastebin if you want to take a look: https://pastebin.com/u928r20u

After some research, I don't know how to "finish" my build, taking into consideration that is my starter, and i just want to do Shaper and maybe Uelder, investing currency, but not a lot because I want to play other builds aswell. There are some finishing ideas as G00fy goober, Ghazzy or the Nathan Walker's take (the kaoms and 7.5L, the inpulsa fast clear speed or the cast speed). Tons of paths for builds are getting me in some way of paralysis by analysis:

Would you be so nice to help me with some tips, ideas and improves?

Thanks a lot for reading and your time. See ya exiles!

    Oni-Goroshi question

    Posted: 04 Apr 2019 12:03 AM PDT

So it can drop before 7 lvl now. But I've heard a few people say being 7+ increases the drop rate. Currently got 4 characters at twilight at lvl 6, wondering if I should keep on just killing hillock, or clear beach more till 7. Thanks in advance

XboxOne build help for returning player

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 11:16 AM PDT

Hi. I'm returning to PoE after more than a year or so, having failed miserably at a first character- I gave up the game after "beating" one of the bosses by hitting him once with my strongest attack, having him one-hit-kill me in return, and then running back and repeating that same process about 200 times. It was so tedious I just stopped playing after that. However, I recently read on r/Diablo3 that the miserable-first-character experience is pretty common if you don't follow an established guide, so here I am looking for a guide and a second go-round with PoE.

I've read of a few of the build guides, including the top 10 list here but most of the terminology is over my head - as in, I was looking for which class to pick on character creation, and none of them told me. After an hour I finally figured out that an "Occultist" guide meant "start as a Witch".

So, rather than continue to try to decipher guides that may or may not even be what I'm looking for, I thought I'd list out what I'm looking for and hopefully have a helpful someone point me at a specific guide.

First things first: I play on Xbox One. I don't have great reflexes nor pinpoint control, nor a ton of time to play. I almost always play solo, because I want to be able to pause and do Real Life Stuff™ whenever I need to. I think making a "solo self-found" character is probably what I want, but other than those 3 words the game doesn't actually tell me what that means.

In terms of actual gameplay, I like: - Builds that move fast. Plodding around the map is no fun. However, that doesn't mean a kiting build, because I generally suck at dodging. I just want to be able to "sprint" between fights/objectives. - I like to kill everything I see, but if the build is a melee build that doesn't have great movement, it gets boring quick. Other than that, I enjoy ranged, melee, or minion builds equally well. - I like to be able to tank pretty well. Again, I'm terrible at dodging, and I compensate for this by building for toughness. It's ok if this is provided by hiding behind minions. - I like to be able to kill pretty well. It doesn't have to be blazing fast, but it should make pretty good progress through areas. - Having only a few key skills. I'm bad at trying to utilize too many skills, especially on an Xbox controller which has an awkward (IMO) way of accessing a second set of skills to use. I don't mind if there are skills that need to be used while not under duress (healing after fights, long-term buffs, etc.) - A nice smooth power progression. Phrases like "you'll really struggle until you get skill X or gear piece Y" are warning signs to me.
    - End-game content is possible, but not necessarily super-optimized. The odds are it will be a LONG time until I get to end-game content; I really just don't play that much. A few hours a week is actually a pretty good amount of time for me.

For those Diablo3 veterans out there, the Vyr Archon Wizard was a great build for me. It had near-limitless teleport, it had substantial toughness, it had one melee attack and one ranged attack, and your other skills were fire-and-forget long-lasting buffs. You could hit enemies from across the screen if you needed to, and you could teleport right on top of them for some face-time pwnage. And, you could get surrounded by a gangbang of enemies and still survive for a good long time due to high armor, high resists, and melee-range area freezing of enemies. (Forget that Vyr Archon actually required pretty specific gear to pull off; I'm talking here about the actual play style of the build.)

I realize that all of those goals aren't possible (at least, they shouldn't be in a well-balanced game; no one should be great at everything). But, a build that hits most of those goals would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

Mjolner Champion with Herald of Agony

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 11:10 AM PDT

Hey all! I've been having trouble with improving this really awkward and unoptimized build, but so far it's been somewhat working. I'm utilizing Mjolner/RF for trash clear and and Herald of Agony for single target, but I wanted to make the lightning procs on Mjolner be stronger to help with single target. So far I can do Atziri and comfortably farm Uber lab, but I want to make sure I have enough DPS for lategame bosses (life is also an issue). I'm not sure if I should just solely focus on WoC procs or go dual spell with Ball lightning + WoC.

I know it's a stupid build but it's honestly pretty fun for me, so any suggestion to improve it would be appreciated!

Uber lab / bossing / decent map char

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 06:15 AM PDT

Reddit. You've always been so helpful to me in the past, so I come to you again with my questions.

I am on my third build of the league already and failing to complete uber lab regularly... Also tried red elder for the first time last night and failed. I am not an amazing player, but definitely interested in getting better so I don't need to make posts like this one.

My question for you all is. What's a good tanky build I could run that would do uber labs, boss fights and be able to map decently.

I played mortal strike jugg last league and would prefer to not play that again this league. I tried lookin for juggernaut builds on the forums but it's hard to know what guides are actually good and what arent.

I'd also prefer to avoid totems. That play style is horribly boring to me.

Please help me find a tanky char that I can level up and beat these bosses with and maybe work my way towards 36 completed challenges so I can have a fancy totem and nice wings.

I love you reddit. Plz halp.

    Edit :spelling.

Help! First time making a build - Offmeta Lightning strike

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 05:01 PM PDT

So ive just started recently playing this game and have around 200 hours into it. And I fell that I know the game some what decently to *attempt* to make my own build. I have checked out a few other builds to see what they are using, and have implemented some of their ideas too.

Heres what I got so far: https://pastebin.com/rDeK6v5P
The idea is to use an offmeta skill, such as lightning strike (I also looked at reave), along with CI + Vaal Pact + Ghost Reaver.
I also wanted to try a Scion, and thought using beserker with slayer, and then thought that slayer doesnt really do much, and with CI, the extra energy shield from ascendancy and nearby nodes should help add to this sustain.

I really have no idea if this is even a good concept, or I should be expecting a roast when I wake up in the morning, but with my limited knowledge I wanted to come to ask you guys for some help.
    Thanks in advance.

Help improving my dual strike gladiator

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:37 PM PDT

Hello folks! I am currently playing a dual strike gladiator and I have 175k tooltip dps but I feel like it is kind of low...

The character is called OkamiBoss, synthesis soft core.

Any tips for build or tree is appreciated.

I do swap my ascestral gem in my chest with ruthless on boss fights.

    Next steps for Winter Orb

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:37 PM PDT

    https://pastebin.com/JAH0F5g1

So I'm level 88 and I've started to slow down in maps with my damage, taking multiple hits to clear packs really hurts the clear speed.

I feel like there are a LOT of options for where to go with the build. I just completed Uber Lab and can consider moving my points around if needed. I am still using a lot of my leveling gear, but justifying dropping a +2 tabula is really hard. Goldrim is also an easy drop as getting another helm with either an enchant or a lot of hp seems like a good defensive upgrade. Weapons are ones I found while leveling, but don't really know what stats are really highest priority. I'm EO, so there isn't much gain switching to daggers.

In my links, I like efficacy over increased duration because I already have the 2 duration clusters and am really looking for more damage. I have 3 frenzy charges and ice bite so my next 3 points are jewel socket, +1 frenzy charge.

I really don't like the weak single target, but don't want to have another skill, but if something that fits my tree would 1 shot bosses I'd consider it.

What are some of the best upgrades I can do with a budget of a few Ex?

[SC] Best build for LL RF/SR for seeing all content?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 07:48 AM PDT

Just googling I've seen several variations of LL RF.

    I've seen:

    • Trickster
    • Witch
    • Guardian

I'm not sure which of these are best for seeing all content, I don't just want to clear maps, I want to be able to do bosses as well

    Thanks for assistance.

Support spectres options for minion centered build

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 09:23 AM PDT

As title says I'm looking for some good "support' spectres for skeleton necro.

During previous leagues I used to always run with both carnage and host chieftans for frenzy/power charges (on 4 link with Animate Guardian, Blood Magic Support and usually Minion Life Support). Although those builds were featuring both zombies and skeletons so I was also running Baron and loads of minion life regen to make zombies more durable and to offset life lost by spectres while casting their spells all the time. Now with my skeleton build I have little to no minion life regen so I'm not sure if chieftans are any good (neither with blood magic as they are probably gonna bring themselves to very low life and get killed constantly nor without it and thus getting mana starved).

Are there any viable alternatives? Some minions with auras or other effects beneficial for crowds of my minions not requiring blood magic support and lots of life regen?

Question about CWDT setup for storm brand elementalist.

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 12:34 PM PDT

I'm following a build for storm brand elementalist and it gives me the following setup:

CWDT + immortal call + enfeeble + increased duration

but, I'm not sure it's working or if I'm missing something.

On another guide it's recommended to use another gem (enduring cry) before immortal call for endurance charges that immortal call can then use.

Can anybody confirm if the above setup is useful or if I should change something?
