[Lore Speculation] The three Skeletons you fight in the Graveyard Map are similar to the three characters whose busts you find in Act 3.

    Posted: 18 May 2019 06:55 AM PDT

This is still a bit of a work in progress and has a bit of a gap for Hector Titucius.

In the Graveyard map, The Unique bosses are:

Steelpoint the Avenger -- Based on Ironpoint the Forsaken

Champion of Frost -- Based on Chatters

Thunderskull --- Based on Skeleton Archmage

Let's have a look at the busts from Victario's Secrets:

    Bust of Marceus Lioneye.

"See without doubt, slay without hesitation." - Marceus Lioneye of Sarn

Marceus Lioneye's lore and uniques leaves no doubt that he was an archer, fitting of Steelpoint the Avenger.

    Bust of Hector Titucius.

"Strength in purpose is strength in deed." This was actually a roadblock in this speculation since we already fight Hector Titucius in The Bath House in act 8. I find it odd that there would be a bust of a man who is still alive and actively protecting a valuable item. However, with mace and shield, I still believe that he is represented by Champion of Frost. I could use some help from someone with a deeper knowledge of the history and rebellion timeline of Wraeclast.

    Bust of Gaius Sentari.

"A man's thoughts are his shackles. A man's thoughts are his wings."

Sentari is portrayed though-and-through as a mage (Sentari's Answer, Rainbowstride Flavourtext), so having him represented by Thunderskull the archmage is quite plausible.

Either all three of these skeletons were put together in the same area for a lore purpose, or they were just clumped together thematically.

    Finding flashback content well balanced.

    Posted: 18 May 2019 08:33 AM PDT

I am not finding the content in flashback too overpowering in fact I find it to be close to what I feel the game needs right now in order for the player to enjoy all the game has to offer.

    SPEEDYBOI 2.0 - 117% Quantity & 350% Movespeed - Magic Find Builds Comparison

    SPEEDYBOI 2.0 - 117% Quantity & 350% Movespeed (VIDEO)

Hey friends! I've been messing around with magic find builds this league trying to find the best way to spam run low tier maps (in my case T6 burials). So far it's been a lot of fun, and this is the first league I've managed to farm a Headhunter. (Usually pretty hard for me with limited play time and an aversion to crafting / trading)

With my current build I decided to get full up time on the Divination Distillate while using pathfinders flask effectiveness, but anyone who has tried to use DD knows that its a pain in the ass to keep it up because as soon as your life and mana are full it shuts off.

I got around this by using the Soul Catcher flask to prevent mana regen, this also gave me the side benefit of full up time on vaal haste. The downside of SC means I needed the blood magic gem for my TS but also means "no regen" maps are no longer an issue.

As a comparison, so far in synthesis I've done:

    - Deadeye TS with about 300% MS and 90% quantity (including Wind Ripper) vid

    - Pathfinder Vaal Spark with about 330% MS and 110% quantity (wand + quant shield) vid

    - Pathfinder TS with about 350% MS and 117% quantity (Wind Ripper & full up time divination distillate flask) vid

    What is best / Conclusions?

    - Vaal Spark vs Tornado Shot:

Vaal spark actually turned out to be a great skill and a lot of fun, definitely a viable alternative to TS. The damage is pretty good without building for it and overall it's more budget friendly than TS. The spark build also has a nice single target in Vaal Storm Call which makes syndicate encounters and some bosses extremely trivial.

If you opt for the quantity shield for an extra 8% IIQ instead of a second reduced soul cost of vaal skills wand, or a 40% reduced soul cost staff, you will only have 2 charges of vaal spark. instead of 5, this means you will sometimes run out of charges and not have mana to cast your regular spark due to Soul Catcher (rip).

Another downside of Vaal Spark is the inferior clear in open maps vs TS (with +2 TS helm enchant) this means you often end up walking back to pick up drops and it takes some time for the sparks to hit off screen enemies (even with maxed projectile speed). In closed maps (lair / toxic sewers etc.) Vaal Spark does tend to melt everything very quickly though.

Overall both work fine, and have pros and cons the main difference is Vaal Spark being better on closed maps and not requiring the expense helm enchant.

    - Deadeye Tornado Shot vs Pathfinder Tornado Shot

Deadeye is the traditional option here, it has better damage and clear, also tailwind has great synergy with a lot of things. The advantage of Pathfinder here is an extra 20% flask effectiveness, elemental ailment immunity (which frees up an extra flask suffix for a permanent anti-curse flask instead of needing anti freeze), and guaranteed permanent flask up time.

Assuming you went for the same build (Using DD + Soul Catcher) Deadeye would end up with about 30% more MS with 5 skills used recently (tailwind), significantly better clear BUT 3.6% less quantity / 12% less rarity from DD, and need a flask swap for temp chain maps. Source: https://pastebin.com/5jzMcUt3 (deadeye) vs https://pastebin.com/WGYR3awt (pathfinder)

Also if you want to farm higher tier maps such as T16, you probably need Deadeye.

TL:DR: Deadeye with Divination Distillate + Soul Catcher is probably the best option.

PoE "clunkiness"? What is it and what drives you nuts the most?

    Posted: 18 May 2019 01:02 PM PDT

For me it has to be the pathing of Shield Charge. I mean, why charge around the obstacle when you can slam in it 5 times in a row. Also Heavy Strike feels goddamn awful.

I wanna know what drives you mad the most, what skill, mechanic, interaction or whatever.

Please explain mace fire explosion to me.

    Posted: 18 May 2019 09:49 AM PDT

    Hello everyone.

I have a few thousand hours of played time in this lovely game, and I love the game more and more for each and every hour. - Even though synthesis was a bit rough on me.

So, I'm looking for an answer to how the fiery explosion from the mace stat "Monsters killed explode for 5% of life as fire damage" or however it reads.

How do you get the huge chain explosions? Is it only elementalist who can cause those? And if so, how does she do it? Is it the proliferation working with hypothermia or what is it? I honestly for the life of me cannot figure it out. :(

    Budget Crafting?

    Posted: 18 May 2019 05:42 AM PDT

So I'm playing toxic rain in the flashback event and have it to maps. I'm interested in working towards a nice bow, but in trying to look up crafting advice all I really see is people making mirror gear with unlimited currency.

Is there a crafting on a budget guide? I don't need a gg bow, just something that's a nice upgrade to what I found lvling. Or if I'm poor does it make more sense to just save to buy a bow instead of craft? I'd like to try crafting, because I haven't yet, unless it's just really cost prohibitive.

    Flame Dash + Combustion

    Posted: 18 May 2019 03:28 AM PDT

I play tectonic slam and I dont have combustion in my main 6L (bcs conc effect and ele focus gives more dmg). What do You think if idea to proc - 19 fire resist by movement skill? It has 49% chance to ignite by itself and I play massive crit build I have about 95% chance to crit (chance to ignite). What do You think when my 49% to ignite FAIL but I ignite enemy by flame dash just by dealing critical strike will it still proc = 19% fire resists?
