Posted: 09 Jul 2019 07:42 AM PDT If the other thread on the front page isn't enough of an indicator, virtually nobody enjoys unveiling. Even if it were overhauled to make things like Elreon's mana cost reduction craft reasonable to obtain, it's still an unpleasant system to interact with, and no amount of number tweaking will change that. The betrayal system is robust enough that its existence is justified even if it's completely divorced from crafting, so I don't understand why the two need to be linked at all. Every time I finish a Pale Council prophecy chain, I'm reminded how simple and elegant it is that the recipe just drops on the ground, and I wonder why this system isn't expanded further. The recipes could be made to either be random world drops, or some/all of them could be assigned to specific bosses. Betrayal itself is fixable with numerical tweaks, but I genuinely feel that even if unveiling were to be streamlined, it would still be a nuisance at absolute best. It was an interesting experiment and worked decently enough when it was the league mechanic, but I do not feel that it has any place in the game going forward. Further, Einhar already sits in your hideout not doing anything, so it wouldn't feel strange to have a functionless Jun in your hideout. She would still assist you during Betrayal encounters. One thing that's worth noting as well is that GGG have spoken on multiple occasions about how they want to improve the average quality of dropped rare items, due to their relatively low power level. Consider that veiled items are, on average, worse than normal rare items. This is because the veiled slot counts towards the 4-affix minimum that rare items drop with, meaning any dropped normal rare will always have 4 or more affixes with the potential to craft an additional one, whereas veiled items can and often do drop with 3 affixes plus a crafted one. If rares are already in a bad spot, it should go without saying that veiled items are in trouble. The only downside is that this would effectively remove Aisling's research mechanic from the game, which I will admit isn't ideal. Potentially double-veiling an item does add some nuance to the game, despite how rarely it's actually used. I think the trade-off is more than worth it, though. [link] [comments]

The ERA of paying tons of money for your crafts is over! Free Crafting Services! Posted: 08 Jul 2019 05:42 PM PDT Hey guys! For years I have struggled finding trustworthy crafters (Other than the 1, which we all know, that is super expensive).I've had trust issues, handing over my 50 exalt items, to do something with, or whatever. This league however, as more of a "for my viewers type of thing", I wanted to be able to provide crafting services!Turns out, by not asking for much, my buddies / viewers tipped me enough to unlock everything at a relatively fast pace (Damn, unlocking some of these mods was expensive!). I had however never expected so many people to be in need of crafting still. I've gathered over 20 pages of feedback in a single league, without even trying! I have been thoroughly enjoying helping people out, both with the actual crafts as with advice on how to finish certain crafts! Therefore, I have now decided I'll be doing this every league! Hence I decided to get reddit in on this aswell! I have all crafts unlocked, in LSC, and will be focussing on this every league from now onwards. There is no set fee, or tip. If you feel generous, I will take a generous donation. If you just spent all your money, and you can't afford a tip, there'll be no problem! You will have to deal with my chat being a little memey. They adore the new "HonestWork" command, haha. Anyhow! Hopefully this 'll make finishing your items easier for you! See you soon <3. [link] [comments]

[PSA] SST + uber enchant with Divide and Conquer Posted: 09 Jul 2019 07:29 AM PDT Heya lads, from personal experience PoE always tends to round down decimals, so I was surprised to find out that it does not do that when calculating projectiles while using Divide and Conquer. A level 21 SST has 14 projectiles and the uber lab enchant adds another 5 for a total of 19. Divide and Conquer divides that amount by 4 which is 4.75, however I have 6 projectiles. How does that happen? It's a bit unintuitive but in favour of the player. It first divides the 14 projectiles from SST by 4, resulting in 3.5 and rounds it up to 4. Then it divides the 5 additional from the uber enchant which is 1.25 but rounds it up to 2, for a total of 6 projectiles. I further tested this statement by buying a +3 enchant helm and as expected had 5 projectiles instead of 6. So if you want to play SST, you better get that additional projectile enchant, it helps a lot, even if it's just the merciless one! [link] [comments]

PSA for summoners: Slave Drivers are pretty good Posted: 08 Jul 2019 08:12 PM PDT tl;dr: Lots of DPS, AOE, high movement speed. Uber Elder kill: https://youtu.be/k1eGGSRGP_c Shaper from 100%: https://youtu.be/7weCmBe2kJY T16 clear + Legion: https://youtu.be/JORZxXCluBo As many summoners may know, Cannibal Fire-Eaters were a victim of the Act 1-3 rebalance (since they were re-added to Act 1) with their DPS dropping by about 30%. So, I've been experimenting with various spectres and combos to find something that reaches the damage of pre-nerf FEs. Last week, one of our Taiwanese summoners posted a video that got buried and kinda forgotten: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/c7og3t/some_reduce_mana_reserved_buganyone_sameand_share They're a bit of an unknown because they don't exist in PoB, but according to poedb, they have a base 1461-4384 lightning damage and 1.85APS at level 82. In comparison, arc only gets to 133-754 (+ remaining chain/more scaling). Maybe we can ask for them to get added to PoB? I tested the spectre over the weekend and it's pretty good. Damage is incredibly high and it's some sort of cone pbaoe. Absolutely destroys bosses and Legion even while using inc. aoe support. They move very quickly, so have no trouble keeping up with you while you run through the map. I've told a few people about them and everyone is having fun with them. Worth a try if you're tired of using SGs every league or are looking for a 'new Fire-Eater'. I have a build guide for them: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2181275 [link] [comments]
