Are there any builds that have very few active skill buttons, MAYBE a build similar to old school D2 Holy Shock Paladin?

Note: This is a follow up to this thread. Basically the same question, but reworded.

    Greetings.
My wife has anxiety issues. She enjoys playing this game, but she has issues with having to think quickly and react quickly. Having to press three or four different buttons whenever there is a rare mob is an issue for her, as she panics and just mashes buttons, hoping that she will survive. I'm looking for a build that has simple skillbar buttons. One movement skill, one active skill, or maybe even something where she doesn't even need to attack regular mobs and only needs to attack bosses with a skill.
I remember pre-1.09 D2, there was a Holy Shock Paladin that would open the cow portal, walk around inside, everything would die, and it basically just looted stuff until we found a lightning immune boss. I'm looking for something that may be similar to this.
I can handle builds with more than one active skill, but currently I'm playing a Bane Occultist that has very few active buttons as well. Right click for Bane, one button for Flame Dash, occasionally I use one button for Wither on a totem, and I have to sometimes re-cast my Chaos Golem if it dies in a higher tier map, but the rest is auras, so it's mostly Bane and Flame Dash as the buttons I press.
I was wondering if there are builds that would be really easy for my wife, as she cannot handle the "high stress" of having to micromanage 4 or 5 different skills at the same time. Basically I want her to be able to run around and have fun playing with the background. She liked playing with the tileset demons in Act 3 of Diablo 3, taking screenshots of her Zombie Dogs playing with lava, etc. She likes to be very casual and take her time, so if she's looking at a bunch of enemies coming at her all at once, for example a fully broken Legion Monolith, she would feel overwhelmed immediately and panic and try to run, but then she would not press the proper buttons to mow them down, even if she had the capability to do so.

I know it's a longwinded question, but I really want her to enjoy the game instead of getting frustrated even though she cannot handle a tier 1 map with 4k hp and maxed resists. Thanks in advance. Have a nice day.

    Newb build?

    Posted: 21 Aug 2019 08:08 PM PDT

    Hey y'all,

I haven't played this game in years. Like the last time I played was when this game only had three acts.

I'm going to dive back in with the new season, and am wondering: what would be a relatively smooth way to get back into it?

Skeleton popcorn (minion instability + infernal legion)

    Posted: 21 Aug 2019 11:33 PM PDT

So I'm playing around with a build using skeletons that blow up using the new infernal legion support.

Saw woolfio's video on skeleton popcorn with the unique sceptre, and Dark Pact with some cold or lightning damage with elemental equilibrium seems like a good idea.

I'm wondering about using Herald of Agony in the build too, but I have a question:

If you have Dark Pact + Chain + Poison Support, and you cast it on a group of skeletons so it chains 4 times, will you also potentially poison a single enemy 5 times? both for purposes of virulence stacks and for how many poison stacks you get on a boss? I'm just wondering if I can make the poison damage itself do enough damage to be a useful addition to the build...

    Supreme Ego Scourge Arrow Trickster

    Posted: 21 Aug 2019 10:25 AM PDT

    mspaint version

Hello all, my first completely original build is here. I haven't seen anyone do this, but I'm sure someone has. The build is a Scourge Arrow Trickster that scales lightning damage, getting the majority of its damage from a super juiced up Wrath Aura.

Using a level 21 wrath socketed in a Vivinsect (+5 levels), combined with the new Supreme Ego keystone on the Elegant Hubris Timeless Jewel, along with the delve mod on chests "25% Increased Effect of Auras on You" and "20% Increased Wrath Effect" corruption on a belt, we get a wrath aura that is over 3x as effective as a normal level 20 wrath aura.

Then, we look for added lightning damage on all other pieces of gear. For the helm we can use a Crown of the tyrant for more flat damage. Abyss jewels with added Lightning help as well. Boot enchant for even more damage.

What do we do with all this lightning damage? We use the Tempest unique bow along with Scourge Arrow to clear the screen one blast of lightning shot at a time.

It's pretty effective, I've beaten all guardians so far. Still have yet to take on Shaper and Uber elder though. Its kind of squishy right now without ghost shrouds up.

Heres the PoB of my current gear (only level 90): https://pastebin.com/tYAGC0mr

And heres a PoB with better gear: https://pastebin.com/XRw6EDtQ

Need help fixing this Freezing Pulse build.

    Posted: 21 Aug 2019 10:51 AM PDT

I've been looking into Freezing Pulse recently, it's my favorite initial skill I liked when I first started playing but I never made it work for atlas. I've made/tweaked more builds since I was new player, but I'm still running into a ton of issues getting a Freezing Pulse Build off the ground, tried making trickster, dead eye, inquisitor, so far I've settled on Assassin but still running into issues.

    https://pastebin.com/5SfKS6mT

    There's 2 main issues.

    1. My goal is either 8.5k EHP or 8k EHP with acro, phase acro. But whenever I tried for each I lose too much dps. DPS i'm trying to aim for 1 million or perhaps higher. Ideally 1.5 million dps but I'm not finding anyways to reach that without losing a ton of ehp.

    2. Gearing, I've some items in mind for endgame, but Im thinking of going FP league starter if possible. So far I know void batteries will be great endgame, but not sure on league start items, I've been thinking beltimbers but I also read they are rare guardian only drops so they are kinda expensive early game? I don't know any good substitutes other than rare wand/daggers for early game, any ideas on cheap unique is appreciated.

So yeah, any advice is appreciated, if #1 can be reached with another ascendancy, please let me know, i'm keep being indecisive with which class, just decided on Assassin since I do like myself an easy crit chance setup and potential herald of ice explosions.
