Where will you hide when the blight comes? Perhaps in my "Tectonic space prison" (hideout)

How much does Path of Exile cost you? I did the math today. I pay $.29/hour. Best value/dollar since Vanilla WoW.

Melee skills feel too slow without Berserker.

    Posted: 22 Aug 2019 07:31 AM PDT

With the changes to multistrike and a lot of attack skills having their base attack speed gutted, everything just feels too slow. I bailed on lacerate by the end of day 1 of the league for cyclone because it just felt garbage with the new multistrike and 75 60% base speed. Even if the skills hit harder, it feels far less enjoyable to play. I don't want to be forced to play berserker or deadeye to get higher attack speed, but without them I find it hard to even hit 6 APS.

Edit: lacerate actually has 60% base attack speed, even less than 75%.

Edit 2: The problem with slow attack speed does not apply to cyclone and blade flurry but to every other melee skill.

Forum - Announcements - New Gems for Summoners in Path of Exile: Blight - Path of Exile

Since 3.8 is about Necromancy, can this sweet Summon Skeleton MTX finally be released please?

[Minion Rework] As a long-time summoner, here's a few things I hope GGG addresses.

Art by Tony Sart - https://www.artstation.com/tonysart

    1. Reflect: Minions have no way to deal with it. This is particularly bad for Spectres, who are difficult to replace.
    2. Monster Leech: Legion rares with Leech could easily reach leech cap against minions, making the rare exceedingly difficult to kill. Minions do not dodge, so they have no natural defense against this, let alone something like the "Bloodless" passive that grants leech immunity to player characters.
    3. Area Damage: Skeletons are exceptionally vulnerable to this. It feels very bad when your minions are immediately wiped out before doing anything, even with high investment into minion life.
    4. Labyrinth Traps: The bleed from the Cleaver Chop traps can decimate Spectres. Is there something wrong with the damage reduction minions are supposed to have against Lab traps when it comes to this particular trap?
    5. Elemental Equilibrium: Commonly used by summoners, but very difficult to use in a Party when other players affect the damage types you deal with their auras, like Anger and Wrath.
    6. "Minions cannot Taunt Enemies": In my build thread, I get many people confused by this wording. They think it applies to all minions instead of just the Holy Relic, Agony Crawler, or Raging Spirit. The phrase should be changed to a singular "Minion cannot Taunt Enemies" for clarity.
    7. Offering duration: Even when consuming max corpses it barely lasts. It feels like busywork to use manually, and many summoners end up automating it in some way. Perhaps a higher additive duration per corpse to really reward investing in corpse generation or waiting for more monsters to die?
    8. Synthesis Spectre MTX: When? =oD
    9. Faster Projectiles: It's pretty much mandatory on anything that really benefits from it, like Phantasms, so it'd be cool if it could get something like Far Shot instead of a paltry 29% increased Damage.
    10. Summoner Defenses: Much of what gave summoners their advantages, and justified their disadvantages, has been losing ground over time. Meanwhile the disadvantages remain. For example, reflect "immunity" (refer to #1) and lack of leech. Or body-blocking vs. massive enemy AOE, like what many Legion rares have. Or auto-targeting vs. Mirage Archer/Winter Orb/Chain/Heralds etc.
    11. Spectre Viability: One day, I'd love for us to have a way to control the skill types a minion can use, so more monsters can become viable Spectres. Example: Minion Technique Support
    12. Stat Transparency: It's a shame we must rely on datamining sites like PoeDB just to find out basic data on our minions. The game doesn't even show how much life the Holy Relic has, or how much regen its boon grants, let alone any other build-defining stat. How can we make informed decisions for our build when so much is obscured for summoners? Path of Building helps, but even that has to have Spectre monsters added individually, and as a result does not have the new Slave Drivers as an option.
    13. Please don't nerf summoners after 3.8. Raging Spirit is still traumatized.

    Thank you.

GGG, please don't nerf Cyclone because it was popular--buff the other melee skills that under-performed this league, *they* were the problem.

    Posted: 22 Aug 2019 12:27 PM PDT

OK, maybe nerf the full-screen cyclone AoE shenanigans. But nothing else. Pretty please with sugar on the top.

New Gems for Summoners in Path of Exile: Blight

    Posted: 21 Aug 2019 06:56 PM PDT

I know what I'm building for Blight

    Posted: 21 Aug 2019 08:50 PM PDT

    A wordy thank you

    Posted: 22 Aug 2019 01:26 AM PDT

As the Legion approaches the end, I just wanted to (rather verbosely) express my gratitude and tell my PoE story.

I've started playing PoE during Domination - a time when adding shrines was a league-worthy expansion, and there were only 3 acts, on three difficulties each. My first character got stuck at the beginning of Cruel (level 39), where it started dying too much (probably because of uncapped resistances, as I assume now). Second one (Cyclone duelist, interestingly enough) made it way further, to beginning of Merciless (level 52). This one was way more durable, but barely dealt any damage - white pack of zombies took around 30 seconds. Since then it was a rollercoaster of experience. I had Mjolner drop during Dominus farming (back when it was the most expensive non-legacy unique at 38ex), made a horrible build with it (since I couldn't afford Voll's Devotion and was too afraid to have less than 100% hit chance, I was doing Resolute Technique Spectral Throw Arc, imagine that). I witnessed so many revolutionary changes - fixes to Desync, addition and complete overhaul of Masters, Loot filters, ascendancies, removal of difficulties, and so many other things.

The Legion, however, was the first time I truly experienced PoE endgame. The were many things I did for the first time - Shaper, Uber Elder, Uber Atziri, Chayula, The Mastermind. I delved deep enough to see Abyssal towns. I got to the league endgame during the league for the first time (except for Incursion, where it was pretty reachable). It might not be much for many, but it was extremely satisfying, after all these years, to finally "Get there".

It's crazy to think how long Path of Exile has been part of my life. In that time IRL I got my first job, moved from Ukraine to Canada and got married. And throughout these years I've been returning to the wonderful, magnificent game.

I want to thank everybody: first and foremost, GGG - you are all awesome; creators and maintainers of many community resources - poedb, filterblade, poetrade, poeplanner, poe wiki and a bunch of others I don't use; the streamers - Karv, TarkeCat, ZiggyD, Mathil, Octavian, LiftingNerdBro, Zizaran, DcLara, Nugi and many many others, who play the game now, as well as OG Kripparian; content creators - especially Ghudda and Eirikeiken, for glorious memery; supporters who make this game possible; community that makes this game vibrant; and, while we're it, poereddit admins who tolerate us at our worst and support us at our best.

I'm going to be skipping next league - a decision made before announcement of "Blight", simply because life should get fuller attention from time to time. But the Exilecon tickets are bought, the flights and hotel are booked, and I already can't wait to come back in November.

    Praise Toucan!

Stop wasting awesome item bases : Make more bases viable

    Posted: 21 Aug 2019 05:54 PM PDT

Let's assume we're crafting an energy shield chestplate.

Currently it's pretty clear that vaal regalia is the best Energy shield base item to craft on. Anything not vaal regalia is out of question, and this leads into quite boring situation where every player's goal meets in the same place - craft T1 x6 on a vaal regalia.

Affixes might differ depending on what the goal is - but the point is there, vaal regalia is the best base, especially the one with high item level. If you're an ES build that doesn't use unique item, your chestplate is vaal regalia.

We all know this and this applies to any other armor bases. we want astral plate not arena plate.

What if other items had their niche to craft on? It's probably slightly hard to make simple robe as viable as vaal regalia, but we already have similar concepts and I think they could be more interesting : Occultist's vestment.

It gives you 10% increased spell damage, but 33 less energy shield compared to vaal regalia. Now the number isn't big enough so we just all go vaal regalia, but what if the numbers were actually competitive? What if occultist's vestment actually gave you 20% inc spell damage?

what if simple robe gave you 3% movement speed? Necromancer's silk gave you 10% inc minion health?

This will drastically increase diversity in item crafting, and will lead to much more interesting endgame crafting.

Two toned boots (ES/Armor varient) having more ES and armour on top of also having resist compared to crusader boots, is another example of wasted base. What if crusader boots actually had more base armor and energy shield? That'd be interesting choice too.

Not all the bases have to be viable - like mage's vestment and occultist's vestment kinda has the exact same look so it's probably fine for occultist's vestment to be the best, But items with different looks could have different strength.

Weapons are already kinda doing FINE by having different implicit, Why don't you try the same thing for armor bases?

Free Ex for new and/or impoverished players

    Posted: 22 Aug 2019 10:16 AM PDT

Edit: ALL GONE GUYS! Thanks for fun messages :)

    Hi All!

So last week, I was playing a bit before work. With about 10 minutes before I had to leave, I stupidly did a syndicate encounter. At the end of it, there was Cadiro. With a headhunter. For 30k coins. I had about 300.

I couldn't afford (and didn't have time) to accumulate enough coins to buy it, so I went to global 820 and said, "30k coin Cadiro up. Have to go soon. Please just tip. And, uh, please don't scam me?"

I was obviously expecting a scam, but the first person who whispered me (sorry I forgot your name!) I invited. He came in, got HH, and tipped me 60ex. I was pretty blown away, and work sucked a lot less that day as I dreamed of all the cool shit I could buy.

Now, with the league wrapping up soon-ish, I still have 20ex left that I never spent. Would like to pay it forward and give 1ex per person who whispers me in game. I'd just ask that - if you have plenty of currency - please let those who haven't accumulated much have these :)

Character name is baek__ (I think it's two underscores? It might be 3; hard to tell). Send me a whisper with the answer to 48+21, and I'll invite you. Come to hideout for ex :)

    Softcore legion league!

I'll go on DND and/or offline when all 20 are gone.

    See you all next league!
