The Road to Headhunter (A Detailed Report) - DAY SIXTEEN Posted: 01 Aug 2019 09:07 AM PDT (Yesterdays Post): https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/ck985l/the_road_to_headhunter_a_detailed_report_day/ (Video Diary): Oh boy! We have some very large things to talk about today. Before the data starts, I'll explain something pretty important. Two days ago, I decided to make the switch to Atoll map. It was great, profitable, and really, really fun to run. I was having a blast, and so I, naturally, let you all know of how well it actually can do. Today, things changed. I logged on, and before I started streaming (just a huge shoutout to those who have been coming along to the streams, it's been super fun!), I needed a few more Atoll maps to be able to start the runs. Atoll, being a tier 6 map, are much harder to sustain just from the Monolith alone - practically impossible, really. I relied on the first and second day buying maps from my viewers on stream, but today I resorted to the trade websites. However, no one was selling. And if they were, it was for 5 chaos a map. Right then and there, I had to make a tough, heartbreaking decision: Atoll will be no more. I'm not sure if I shot myself in the foot by praising it too much, and some of you went excitedly to buy the market out to try it. The map itself is profitable, but running it just for the monolith is actually a bad idea. I'm sorry to those who I may have convinced to try it out, I hope your map drops are lucky and you can sustain! So, after 300 maps, Atoll has retired to the Wall of Shame. We decided to return right back to roots - Alleyways. After all, it was my favourite map to run. And boy was it a profitable day! Christ Wilson, Messiah of the Grinding Gear Games church body, was kind enough to bless me with some lovely, sweet profit. I prayed for over 30 minutes on my lunch break today for him to rain down profits. And rain profits, he did. --------------- DAY SIXTEEN: ALLEYWAYS MAPS RUN: 200 TOTAL TIME TAKEN: 3 hours, 28 minutes, 50 seconds AVERAGE PER MAP: 1 minute, 3 seconds TOTAL PROFIT: 2558.77 CHAOS (this is absolutely bonkers) PROFIT PER HOUR: 735.15 CHAOS (see? I told you it was bonkers) PROFIT PER MAP: 12.79 CHAOS (do you believe how bonkers it is now? DO YOU?) ---------------- NOTABLE DROPS: Exalted orb: 1 Stacked deck: 15 Divine orb: 2 Annulment orb: 1 The Saint's Treasure: 5 Maraketh Splinter: 72 Seven-League Step: 1 (287c) Increased Area of Effect Support (level 21, 23q): 1 (960c!) The Valkyrie: 1 SUMMARY: "I have returned - into this land where I once cast myself into a journey that seems like it has lasted for an endless nightmare. The monsters I see in this nightmare, they... they never stop. Relentless and untiring, I have found the only way to calm them is to show them an unending slumber. And as the fighting is quelled, the shouting and sparring ceases, I wake - only to find myself at the beginning once more. Standing in that Alleyway. When will this nightmare end? When will I dream once more of Oriath and it's Golden walls? I begin to think... What if Oriath is the dream, and this... this is my only true reality?" - Badger, probably As you can see, today was crazy. When that Increased Area of Effect Support dropped, I was expecting it to be worth like, 100, maybe 150 chaos. I didn't expect it to almost be worth 1000! The other crazy thing was, it took us a total of 491 MAPS to drop another Exalted orb - we were in a dry spell for so long! The exalt dropped on the 191st map these runs. Finally I can rest in peace. So, for the rest of this challenge, I will be living my days out in Alleyways. And we are really close... I can feel it. Chros Wolson, you'd better watch out. After I get this headhunter, I'm coming for you. For your head. GRAND TOTAL STATS: GRAND TOTAL MAPS RUN: 2500 GRAND TOTAL PROFIT: 23166.27 CHAOS GRAND TOTAL PROFIT PER MAP: 9.27 CHAOS (0.3 HIGHER than yesterday, that's a bit of a rise!) GRAND TOTAL TIME SPENT: 42 HOURS, 34 MINUTES, 50 SECONDS (including selling and buying time) GRAND TOTAL PROFIT PER HOUR: 544.06 CHAOS (an increase of 16.62 CHAOS from yesterday! That's a big rise) GRAND TOTAL TIME PER MAP: 1 minute, 1.3 seconds (only 0.1 second slower than yesterday!) ------------ Chaos left until Headhunter Purchasable (according to Poe.Ninja as of 1:58am AEST, 2/08/19): 1506.03 CHAOS!!! THAT'S SO SO CLOSE! We are 2872.27 chaos closer than we were yesterday. This is a massive leap, and honestly, we could probably complete our goal in just one more day! Unfortunately, I'm super busy over the next couple of days, so I'm not sure when I'm going to find the time to do so! However, I do suspect that I will be able to do this on stream on Saturday, at 10:30pm AEST, so come along and cheer me on for the last leg of the journey! ESTIMATED MAPS REMAINING: ~ 162 (326 less than yesterday) ESTIMATED TIME REMAINING: 2 hours, 45 minutes, 31 seconds This is literally a day away. This is how you farm a Headhunter. THIS. IS. HOW. Badger, out. [link] [comments]

Posted: 31 Jul 2019 04:05 PM PDT As many of you may have seen, I recently made a big announcement on Twitter. Naturally, I will be taking some time off to be with my family and I wanted to make sure I keep the Path of Exile community in the loop as to what to expect from us for the next while. I expect to take six months of parental leave, but may be able to return earlier. I suspect it's likely that I will be periodically checking in behind the scenes to make sure things are running smoothly. As we mentioned earlier this week, we're expecting to post our 3.8.0 announcement around August 20th. While I might not be taunting the community from my Twitter or clouding our subreddit with silly gifs, you'll still receive all the normal announcements and teasers you would expect around an expansion launch. Natalia, one of our other Community Managers, may already be familiar to you as the person who frequently writes and posts Path of Exile news. She does a tonne behind the scenes and I feel very confident with her scheduling news and teasers in my absence. She will also be working with Chris and the rest of the community team to ensure that significant community concerns that may arise are heard and addressed. Hartlin, one of our game designers and producers, frequently posts on the subreddit and will also be keeping an eye out for community issues for the team to address. You may see him posting to address hot topics and server RIPs, etc. As always, Chris will be overseeing everything and ready to guide the team in any decisions that need to be made. As you know, he's also notorious for causing mass hysteria so I trust you'll be in good hands. Unfortunately, taking leave also means that I'm unlikely to be able to attend ExileCon. This is going to be super weird! I was very much looking forward to meeting everyone there and I'm so sorry that I most likely won't be able to make it. I've heard the team's plans for the convention weekend and it sounds like you'll have so much to think about that you won't even notice I'm not there! Thank you so much to everyone who shared their well wishes and support to my initial announcement. I was extremely blown away with how many caring messages I received. It's going to be really strange to be away from the community and I will definitely miss being part of everything here for a little bit but I will be back! Side note - if you think you might need something from me over the next few months, particularly if you're a streamer, please get in touch ASAP! [link] [comments]
Bring back 'autoaim'-Multistrike to melee Posted: 01 Aug 2019 04:14 AM PDT I loved playing legion, it was the most fun league I have played in a long time. I have only played melee builds this league and I have some feedback. While cyclone felt tremendous and very smooth to play, it had no issue clearing all small monsters on your screen, it was just too powerful for my taste. Flicker strike is awesome due to autoaim and very fun to play, it can just be stressfull. Other 'big screen' AoE skills like earthquake, tectonic slam etc. Also felt good due to the same reason as cyclone. Chaining from frost blades felt good, but lightning strike / wild strike etc. could not reliantly hit enemies and felt awefull. AoE direction based skills like reave did not feel good, because their was always some small monsters that you wouldn't clear unless you had your vaal reave ready. I really miss the old multistrike 'autotarget'. Please bring it back, otherwise I never feel melee will be able to compete with ranged skills TL:DR: Bring back the old multistrike autotarget please [link] [comments]

Posted: 31 Jul 2019 06:59 PM PDT Hey /r/pathofexile, I'm not sure if this is something you just have to get used to, but I'm coming to realize that the single most painful thing for me as a new player to deal with is how PoE seems to very slowly lure enemies towards you after you've cleared an area around say Zana, or the cart stopping point in delve, or what have you, in order to kill you while you are trying to figure out your next move. It's not a huge deal outside of hardcore, but it just doesn't seem to be how the game ought to challenge players. I'm dying just as often to red map bosses with crazy mods as I am to random white mobs 16 levels below me as I try to read text, and I can't imagine that's what GGG is hoping for. Posted: 01 Aug 2019 06:56 AM PDT Recently I got annoyed because I could do Shaper/Uber Elder completly fine with Shattering Steel Champion, but I couldn't risk hitting the Atziri Mirror Phase in Uber Atziri due to reflect. After some testing it turns out that you can be reflect immun without purely stacking reduced reflect damage taken. For example my character uses: Yugul Pantheon: 25% reduced Reflected Damage Taken Sibyl's Lament: 40% Reduced Reflected Physical Damage Taken Fortify: 43% Reduced Damage Taken from Hits with 119% increased Fortify Effect This puts my character at 108% Reduced Reflected Physical Damage Taken (75% increased Fortify Effect would be enough: 20% * 1.75 = 35% ) Other sources of reduced damage taken should work based on that fortify works aswell. For example Juggernaut nodes, corruptions with reduced X-type damage taken, Wise Oak, Nebuloch etc. (It would be great if others could confirm this) The only other thing which I had to remove from my character was Vulnerability on Hit because Atziri reflect curses and vuln causes increased physical damage taken. Same would go for Vulnerability Maps as well as Monsters with Vuln on Hit should be avoided, unless you are confident in having curse immunity at all times. I wouldnt recommend this for HC (besides Atziri). Any other sources of increased damage taken should be kept in mind as you'd need more reduced damage taken taken to compensate. Edit: AVOID GETTING SHOCKED This makes this setup more limited in HC because you could get shocked in maps quite easily. So Complete shock immunity would be nice too. PoB: https://pastebin.com/NpQsWNBu I thought it might be a good idea to show some proof that I can attack the Mirror Atziri. Ascendancy and relevant gear is shown at the start of the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gc0JRrZnf-o&feature=youtu.be&t=186 Sources of Fortify Effect: 2x10% Lethal Pride 60% from the Skilltree 15% Amulet (Essence of Horror) 24% Str. Base Dense Fossils crafted Helmet (could be divined to 25%) [link] [comments]

How does physical damage reduction work exactly? Posted: 01 Aug 2019 04:49 AM PDT Hi! For a build I'm making at the moment I want to reach the 90% damage reduction cap for a very specific amount of damage taken. So does that mean, that for the purposes of calculating the amount of Armour Rating I will need to mitigate a specific hit by 90% I can just add all the physical damage reduction sources together except for Armour, subtract that from the 90% cap and then get my new cap I will have to reach via Armour alone? As an example. I want to mitigate a hit of 350 damage (from Heartbound Loop) by 90%. Using ONLY Armour and no other sources of physical damage reduction, I would need a total of 31.500 Armour according to the "Required Armour Rating" formula from the wiki. Does that now mean that I will only have to reach 50% damage reduction from Armour to reach the cap of 90%? Because, since Armour formulas are not linear, that would mean that I'd only need 3500 Armour Rating using the same formula as above, which is only approximately 11% of the initial value of 31.500 - which seems a little insane if you ask me.
