Path of Exile Builds Lets come up with the best template for build guides

Lets come up with the best template for build guides

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 07:44 PM PDT

What is in your opinion the perfect template for a build that you like to follow? I like to keep it simple and down to what people really want to know. Would be nice if some of you could chip in and and give your thoughts on what makes a good guide. Here is what i think is a pretty good template:

Overview - [Whats your build all about]

    • Having an interesting title is nice, but give a good explanation on what people are about to play.

Showcase - [First thing i want to know after is how it looks]

    • Videos, Gifs, pictures or your gear. Give your reader something to look forward to and make them want to play your build ASAP.

Pros & Cons - [Looks good, now i want more info and some facts]

    • Having something to look forward to is good, but don't forget to inform people about your build so they don't end up disliking it halfway through.

Leveling - [Alright you got me, how do i get to the fun part]

    • No one likes to struggle while leveling a new build. Show them the most efficient, fast and fun way to actually play your build in the end.

Skill Tree - [Ok im done leveling time to spec into the spine of the build]

    • Delete this section if there isn't a POB link in here.

Ascendancy - [Having a spine is good, lets see the brain that makes it work]

    • This is a topic worth having a section of its own. Give your thoughts on why you choose what you did to make readers understand what makes this build so fun or good.

Bandits & Pantheon - [Not as important as the rest above but still belongs to the same family, so lets get this topic out the way to finally get to the fun part]

    • Pantheon is a failure and Bandits is pretty much always Alira or Skill points, but everyone wants to know what to pick. No one likes searching for these in the middle of a build so get this over with after covering the more important parts and move on.

Gem Setup - [The fun part is here, the heart of the build]

    • Keep this section as simple as possible. Don't list 10 different main setups for your build.

Equipment - [Now the heart just needs the blood and flesh to work with]

    • What people should aspire to get and use with your build. Including a "Gearing" section in this area is a good idea to help people understand what to prioritize and why.

FAQ - [I have a lot of questions about this build, where do i find some answers without having to ask in the thread and wait for hours?]

    • This is the area where you answer what the perfect APS for a CoC build is or when you can switch from Rain of Arrows to Tornado Shot.

Changelog & Updates - [No one likes playing outdated builds]

    • There are meta shifts almost every League and things may change rapidly as the game evolves. Keeping the build actively alive in this section is essential if you want people to play it.

    What summoner build for delving?

    Posted: 01 Oct 2019 01:58 AM PDT

Hey guys. I've played this whole league as mix of every possible summon build, so skellies/zombies/spectres/everything.

There was some guide on forums that stated it's possible to get 74 minions, it seemed kinda cool but now I'm trying to get to depth1000 and past that. What build would be the best for that? I'm using Frost Sentinels as spectres.

    My POB: https://pastebin.com/JA2XwxQE

Got like 20ex to reroll for something else. Thanks a lot! :)

    Cyclone Scion Build Help

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 07:10 PM PDT

I'm relatively new to PoE, played it on and off over the past few years, played different leagues and played just standard. I've never actually gotten into endgame content due to never really having the time, and I've gotten sidetracked with countless builds that were usually fruitless, usually because I've been so used to Diablo and it's very relaxed nature of builds.

After seeing the success of cyclone during Legion league, it was in the back of my mind to try it, and I wanted to play a Scion at some point because I just never have. So I figured I'd try to do them together.

At this point, I've decided this is the build I want to take into the end game, I've drafted up a potential skill tree but I'm not sure if it's necessarily good...but I wanted to try a mix of Slayer cyclone with Elementalist cwc

I made this one assuming I'd use an axe, and this one when I found out that staves could roll cwc support innately

My current Scion is only roughly level 50 and I just entered act 6, so I've got plenty of wiggle room for changing the build.

My current setup is Cyclone - Onslaught - CWC - Vaal Ice Nova as my main link, I'm running Heralds of Purity, Ice, and Thunder, using Dread Banner, and Stone Golem and Holy Relic.

I plan on using the +1 Golem from Elementalist on either a Fire or Lightning, and probably dropping one of the Heralds to focus moreso on the other two since I'm at 85% mana reserved with the build running

My current flask setup is a mana, a life, a Quicksilver, a Bismuth, and a Jade.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. <3

    [BHC 3.8] LVL 100 #1 Skelly Necro

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 06:37 AM PDT

Flame Dash with 384k hit and 1.5M DPS but only 4 K EHP.

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 12:11 PM PDT

I think the DPs is irrelevant as it is very hard to cast flame dash on single target at cast speed. 380K hit is enough to one shot trash however EHP is too low. CDR from boot and amulet is not calculated correctly. Flame dash with this setup has around 0.9s CD and CD starts as you use the first dash. Usually it gives you 4-5 dash before you need to wait for CD. Mana cost of flame dash is zero.

How can i improve this build?

    CoC Discharge without Volls Protector?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 08:42 PM PDT

Anyone played around with the idea? I was thinking of going low life with a shavs since i dont have the volls chest (ssf). I have the amulet, a cospris, and lyco (still trying to craft a high es mana reduction shield)

Roast my build 2 - Dominating Blow Champion

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 06:51 AM PDT

I was thinking about a fun-to-play build to escape from meta and also benefit from buffs to minions. I figured dominating blow is the right approach. I played a DB Guardian before so i decided to benefit from champions buffs for allies and impale effectiveness. Idea is we use Herald of Purity and DB to muster an army of physical attackers and buff them with Carrion Golem, all while we (and our dominated minions) apply impale to buff overall damage. Even tho this is a softcore build we manage to get 20k armor and 76 max resistances and are relatively tanky. With the help of consecrated path every now and then we get a nice batch of hp regen and with fortify buff we get another layer of incoming damage reduction.

So here I am throwing my child into the maw of abyss which is internet. Roast my build, do not hold back any harsh criticism but please back it up with suggestions.

    I have a Voidforge - what should I build?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 07:01 PM PDT

I started doing Mathil's Voidforge elementalist static strike,

which is working fine - I just hate the wind up/refresh. I've died to hard maps within the swing timer to refresh my static strike which doesn't feel good.

Is there any other builds out there that use Voidforge?

    Criitcal Wild Strike Staff Inquisitor

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 06:27 PM PDT

Hi guys! My first really off-meta build https://pastebin.com/4nRRCDD9

It's my first time posting on this sub, and I was looking for feedback and any recommendations.

Not only is Inquisitor the least represented class on poeninja but wild strike is also very rare.

So far this build has been doing wonders for me, and I haven't had problems clearing red maps, red elder, labs, or blighted maps. Have not attempted Uber Elder or Shaper. It has great clear speed, no mana problems, and has a lot of free utility. It gets about 1.2 million shaper dps with lots of room for improvement

    The Tree

So, I initially just kinda tried to use realmshaper's +1 to fire and cold to good use by using wild strike, turns out uniques still suck haha. Now, it's mostly just a build trying to get me to uber elder lol. I feel like it's a standard tree with maybe a little less life than ideal, only +157% inc. Other than that, I just grabbed the staff nodes, the critical strike nodes, and life.

As I level up to as far as 100 as I get, I'm going to get 3 more jewel slots for hopefully a total of ~140% crit multiplier.

Being a crit build and elemental I needed assassin's mark and a way to get mana, I chose poacher's mark. Grabbed Whispers of Doom because it was close by. It's probably not the ideal tree and could probably squeeze some more out of it tbh.

    The Items

Definitely haven't been grinding for currency and items lol, there's only about 6 ex in everything. My staff could probably do with 100 more dps, and I need an endgame chest piece. Also, ignore all of my enchantments because I just haven't ran uber lab enough haha.

Hrimnor's Resolve is my choice of helmet mostly for utility as all of my skills are fire, so I never have to worry about chill or freezing. There might be a better choice for me, but it's damn convenient to not need to spend a flask suffix on it.

Wall of Brambles is just a cheap chestpiece with high armor. I'd like to get an astral plate with high life, but I already have poor armor rating and don't want to get instagibbed by mobs.

The staff base makes the most sense for crit builds and the shaper crit mod gets me to about 99% crit with assassin's mark against shaper.

Dual Opal rings for the increased damage. Just decent life rolls and a curse on hit for mana regen.

I'm mostly satisfied with the items being as budget as it is. The only thing I'd look into is getting higher armor rating and then some better jewels.

    The Skills

Wild Strike is my main skill, added cold and lightning damage are pretty self explanatory, ancestral call for better clear, fortify for being tankier and it gives great damage. I think my 6 link is pretty obvious.

My Staff and socketed trigger was initially a 5 link arc and assassin's mark, but I realized that I could put a lot of utility in there. So I have molten shell with virtually perfect uptime besides cooldown, wave of conviction and cold snap to give me some culling strike and snap has frenzy generation as well as assassin's mark. I chose triggering the spell over the ring mod because generally if it survives the first hit it'll be surviving a lot more and I'll want the extra crit chance.

I've also got heralds for clear and precision to get me to 100% accuracy. Flame Dash over leap slam so that I can trigger my ascendancy.

I've got a LOT of free sockets that I feel like I'm wasting, but I can't fit any more auras because of mana and I'd do blood rage but I don't have physical damage to leech. I was thinking about maybe just throwing in a vengeance to say I used the slots but idk.

    Conclusion

Far from perfect or meta-breaking, but I have had a lot of fun with it and thought you guys might like to see it too. Sorry I don't have a video for you guys or anything. If you have anything you'd like to say or ask please let me know!

    Cyclone CoC Arc Assasin

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 05:48 PM PDT

Im currently trying to make a Cyclone coc Arc Assasin in POB.
This is my first homebrewed build after 700 hours in PoE and I have probably made a lot of mistakes and would therefore be grateful if someone would look over it and give me some tips/optimise it.

Personally I feel like the crit chance on cyclone might be too low and the damage on arc is lacking.
Im also unsure what affixes I should look for on my gloves, rings and Jewels.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

First character, almost postgame, i've been planning to go Venom Gyre build. Should i go another route?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 03:29 PM PDT

i'm level 59, almost out of act 8 and i wanted to know, before it's too late, if i definitely want to go this build

i currently been playing and planning to go venom gyre/cobra lash

because someone told me i should go another build

people were saying venom gyre build is, not that strong, or too expensive and so on

i have 1 exalted orb, so that should get me going. i want to put that towards my first endgame gear

i'm ok if venom gyre is not too cheap, as long as i can get by. so far i've been enjoying it, but i'm not opposed to changing builds

is there a better build to go for me? for my first character, i don't want to go something too cost demanding so that i would be weak, and stuff

is venom gyre ok should i stay with it? or is there something better for me

    Storm Call viability

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 02:25 PM PDT

Hello, I really like storm call, I think the skill is fun to play but is it viable at all? On Poeninja the best stormcaller is only doing 1.4m dps compared to 5+ from most other builds.
Is storm call viable at all or is nobody just not playing it?
If it is viable, Would anyone be kind enough to give me a PoB for it

    Thank you!

    Hey guys,

I wanna try out Tectonic Slam but can't decide if Jugg or Chieftain is the right way to go? Is it still like, Jugg is defense, Chieftain is offense? Also, crit or non-crit? I play SSF so I don't have a Oni Goroshi (worth mentioning), help me get inspired :)
