    Ongoing Crafting Challenge League (MSC Trade)

    Hey guys,

    Another update on this private league, we're now about 2 weeks in. Almost no good Watcher's Eyes have been dropped, no timeless jewels exist, and plenty of things remain undiscovered. There's 25 days left and people are really helpful towards new players. It's totally free and I'm paying for all the slots in the league.

    Long story short, the ONLY mod enabled is "No magic or rare items drop". Uniques still drop, influenced items drop as white, etc. However, it REALLY shakes things up.

    There are a bunch of people at various levels of progression right now since joining from the last reddit post. The goal is to help everyone get better at crafting, especially with limited resources. Be creative in your builds!

    Best alternative of PoeTrade Macro

    Which is best alternative of PoeTrade Macro, which works with official trade instead of dying poetrade?

    I tried some of them, but one had strange visualisation of search results, and other had no affix search functionality.

    Is there any macro which shows the results in a plain text list like the PoeTrade Macro and allows to search Uniques/Rares by set of affixes and their value ranges?

    Since I certainly do not want to ever use poe.trade again after getting whispers for an item which was sold 1 hour ago, while official trade have almost instant updates. Official trade also always shows the affixes of rares correctly, because it has access to actual database.

    What did GGG do right in 3.9 that made a lot of players stay for a lot longer?

    Hello guys, I think its time to list the things GGG did right in 3.9 that made a lot of players including me play for a lot longer than usual. For me its the Awakener chase, as well as all the endgame crafting! What is yours?

    How do you convert endgame drops to currency?

    I've been playing casually for about 3-4 leagues now. I always get to levels 90+ and am grinding away at the Atlas, I have loot filter set to very strict but, 90% of the time I have no idea what to do with non-currency drops and how to make money off them. 99% of the time I just ID everything that drops, and if I didn't happen to get god-tier multiple T1 rolls, then I just vendor all of it.

    This means I've played a lot of hours, am grinding away endgame, but on average I finish a league with 4-5 ex if I'm lucky (meaning I've maybe had 4-5 ex drop for me).

    Is there an easy guide somewhere or information to know how and what to make currency off of? I've heard about crafting, and delve crafting, and fossil crafting, etc to make items worth but it's all very confusing. The game is fun but I'm clueless how to make / find things worth selling.

    A poor man's journey to craft a double-influence ring for Ice shot build

    Feeling blessed on a nice Sunday, I took up the challenge of crafting a double-influence ring for my Ice shot build.

    Budget

    16 exalted orbs (almost all the currency I've saved up the past 2 months).

    Plan

    • Goal: getting a nice ring with tier-1 Shaper Curse with Assassin's Mark on Hit (lvl12), tier-1 Elder Increased Projectile Damage, tier-1~2 life, and tier-1~2 added cold to attack.
    • Influence fusing with awakener's orb is a deterministic process such that the two single influences on the donor and target are fused into one. However, the rolling of other affixes after fusing is nondeterministic. Therefore, it mostly makes sense to me to have two desired influences on the same side of the affixes, i.e. either appear on both prefixes or both suffixes. After fusing, we can block the respective suffixes or prefixes by crafting bench and proceed to scouring the unwanted affixes.
    • Aiming for the 2 desired suffixes (Elder + Shaper) and 1 open prefix (to craft 'Suffix cannot be changed') immediately after slamming the awakener's orb.

    Cost breakdown

    Material Cost (Exalted orb) Note
    Shaper ring (target) + Elder ring (donor) 0.1 lvl 84+
    Cost of rolling desirable influence mods on each ring 0.3 Alteration equivalence
    Awakener's orb 3 Getting 3 suffixes, 1 open prefix (good), and 2 irrelevant prefixes.
    Suffix cannot be changed 2 Then scouring the fused ring's prefixes
    The random generator dominates the process from here
    Adding 2 additional mods 2 Getting irrelevant prefixes
    Suffix cannot be changed 2 Then scouring prefixes
    Adding 2 additional mods 2 Screenshot
    Suffix cannot be changed 2 Then scouring prefixes
    Adding additional mods 2 Getting non-optimal prefixes..
    Total 15.4 Stop (budget reached)

    Result

    • Got 3 Elder-influence mods + 1 Shaper-influence mod.
    • Work nicely with Mark of Elder as Path of Building recognizes my double-influence ring as a Shaper one, i.e. +(60-80)% attack damage.
    • Unfortunately, my char build has nothing to do with the {[tier-1 Elder] Added fire dmg against ignited enemies} mod and {add X to max energy shield}.
    • Broke before getting the planned outcome. Got beaten to a pulp by the pseudo-random generator.

    Moral story

    Awakener's orb crafting is not for unlucky plebeians.

    I've been playing Poe since around syndicate and I've always followed build guides. I thought I was at the point where I could do a build myself but they have always been zdps.

    I guess my biggest issue is that I don't understand the fundamentals around causing damage.

    Eg if I wanted to to a phys damage build what's the best way to scale?

    If I have any suffixes that concert x phys to elemental I would assume they would drop my overall phys dps but when checking in pob it always seems to increase which confuses me.

    So once I understand how damage is dealt and scaled perhaps I may do a little more than Zdps.

    Exactly what the title says. I made a miscalculation doing my kit over and I'm only at 71% Fire resist. Am I going to pay for this? Just starting T6 maps now and this is my first character.
