    An update on the Clusterstruck private league: How does Path of Exile play when you don't use the passive skill tree?

    Firstly, the league is still ongoing if anyone wants to join, the link to apply is here.

    It will go until the end of DSC and I'm paying for everything myself. If we fill up again, I'll buy more slots.

    So the rules of this league: You can take keystones, jewel sockets, small travel nodes that grant attributes, and cluster jewel nodes. Anointing is allowed, as are keystones that are behind small notables such as Phase Acro and Runebinder.

    The Good

    A fantastic part of this league is that you rarely need to level a new character. If your ascendancy has a class that fits, all you have to do is rerun lab and grab some new cluster jewels. I switched from minions to mines to brands on my first character all before level 90 with minimum hassle.

    It makes you think very creatively when planning a character. I've learned somewhere around 50-60% of the notables on cluster jewels at this point.

    It's also quite challenging if that's something that you enjoy!

    The Bad

    You can't drop clusters before Act 6. That was pretty funny initially but very frustrating. This isn't an issue anymore of course.

    Getting enough health is a challenge. Your main source of EHP is small cluster jewels that grant life or ES. There's still not a huge surplus of these. Many people supplement these with elusive on kill or endurance charges when hit.

    Large clusters can be frustrating for certain builds. If you're going for physical damage, you can choose between attack damage while holding a shield, dual wield, two handed, physical damage, attack damage, etc. Minions and Chaos builds have one large cluster they can use, which can be frustrating.

    The Meta

    Nobody is at AL8 yet, mostly because our first builds were some hot garbage we all used to farm cluster jewels until we had more options.

    Life builds quickly proved inferior to either hybrid or pure ES builds in terms of EHP, with many transitioning as more jewels dropped.

    Several people have opted for golemancers, and it's performing very well. Cold DoT was one of the first builds to clear wave 20 simulacrum. DoT in general was favored heavily as starting builds.

    Acro/Phase Acro for life builds are essential. Many opted to go for blood magic as well due to the small nodes leading to it granting 20% increased maximum life.

    If you're an elemental build, you take ele overload. Going crit is near impossible without the tree. With good enough items it's POSSIBLE but takes huge investment. Nobody has done it yet.

    Regular jewel sockets were quickly filled with jewels that gave %life or %ES. Anatomical knowledge, a jewel that's usually ignored proved very popular!

    Build Examples

    Passive Tree

    Farming Oni-Goroshi at the start of the league was a popular option. This build is still utilizing it. As you can see, getting both life and damage is hard.

    Passive Tree

    The tree gets REALLY spread out when you need a lot of cluster jewel sockets. This is a golemancer that is currently one of the strongest builds in the league. The damage output is higher than anyone else, though the defense is a bit lacking. He has something to strive for!

    This is my second character. I decided to try and scale ES because I was really really tired of dying and wanted to push some higher content.

    THEN I got fed up not dealing enough damage and started regearing. Defensively it was amazing. Even better with ES on block, but there aren't currently any suitable bases to work with for it.

    Hope this update provoked some thought for you all! Feel free to join the league, you really won't be behind and it'll be running for another month at least. What build would you run?

    With so many opinons on Delirium I'll add my own.

    I like this league. I liked it in the first week when it was more rippy. I liked Betrayal before it was nerfed. Sounds crazy, right? It's because at some point PoE became for me a bit too easy in terms of gearing vs content. Maybe I palyed it too long (6.5 years), maybe it's the fact that more players = easier to gear or just power creep, but the fact is that in SC you can slap Tabula on a couple of builds and rock everything in the late game without much effort. HC is a different topic and I alternate between the two, but don't want to dwell on its state.
    Sirus A8 is a nice exception but overall I never saw the need to pimp out my character if everything melts on a 10 Ex budget. Until this league, and I like that. I like that there are hard parts of the game, I think there should be more, but I'm happy that there are some.

    I would like there to be gear affixes that with lvl 90+ requirements. I would like there to be a steeper curve in red maps. I totally don't buy the argument - 100% delirius maps are hard therefore bad or even hard content existing = bad. PoE has so many options to do right now and that's why I like the game. Limiting the options or design space for easy things is also limiting the number of people for which the game is interesting. I could put it into more words but I think this is enough.

    I see a lot of comments complaining about starting Alva in deletion worrying about the timers etc. If you can open Alva and get in., Once inside the delerium timer is paused and the Alva timer is paused until you move or use a skill. So don't read architects etc in man, when you enter push v and you can check the architect/ doors without any time pressure
