Even though I try my fair share of builds, every league I always end up playing builds which utilize HoI (like Iceshot Deadeye or CoC Ice Nova). But this league I feel like you need to be way more tanky than usual and I haven't really found builds that work out to me. Do you guys have any good recommendations for strong builds with HoI which aren't super expensive? It should ideally also be a fast mapper and also kinda bossing-able. [link] [comments]  |
| What are some things you wish you knew when you were leveling your first character? Posted: 14 May 2020 09:43 AM PDT I'm on my first play through and I feel like I am either making mistakes or missing some things. Looking for some low-level tips and guidance because reading around the subs on this game is overwhelming. I have hardly used any of my materials because I don't want to waste them. My upgrade path has been focused on INT with points going towards minion and lightning upgrades. When I play, I normally pick up any of the yellow items that drop, which I identify and sell. I also pick up any item with a border to sell. Currently in Act 7, but am still using some gear I got around act 2. Hardly getting any sweet drops. Is this like Diablo where the game totally opens up after a certain level? Edit: Thanks for all of the advice. I'm going to keep on plowing through. I just beat Maligaro's eyes shut. I posted a build guide on how to do Herald Stacking on a budget a few days ago. I've updated the guide with some discussion of upgrade options (first comment) since a lot of people have questions about how to improve the character / what they can spend on if they have more budget. | Flicker Strike + Starforge?(Trickster, willing to reroll) Posted: 14 May 2020 08:21 AM PDT I started to follow this little 3.9 guide for flicker strike but is not updated to include 3.10 changes and Cluster Jewels! the problem with this build so far are the following: -to generate frenzy charges it has a cyclone set up on a 6L JUST to generate these charges and then proceed to flicker strike a boss to death. -after getting the same items (quality wise) the dmg tooltip in game looks very lacking(this could be me missing something. here is the POB: https://pastebin.com/whErd1GP wondering if you have any suggestions to tweak this tree or add and tinker with some clusters! | My Dancing Dervish Build - Looking for improvements Posted: 14 May 2020 11:20 AM PDT Hi all, Short version, help?: https://pastebin.com/nT4qE8U6 Long version: I've been working on this build for a few leagues now, experimenting with different equipment etc. and this has seemed to be the most successful setup for me, but I'm keen to have it torn apart by someone who knows what they're talking about. I've played this game for over 600 hours, and still have no idea what I'm doing. I've tried loads of different builds but I really enjoy Dancing Dervish, I just find it really fun to play, even if it's not the strongest skill available. Here are my thought processes for the build. Defence: I'm scaling armour and trying to build up HP. I'm using aspect of the crab to take my physical damage reduction from 51% to 81%, and all the other Craiceann's items to improve the way it functions. I'm aware that there is a popular Pathfinder build that uses poison/ herald of agony and scales evasion, but my experience has been that armour>evasion. I could be wrong about how evasion works, but I'd rather reduce all damage by 80% and just use a health potion, than die in one shot 20% of the time. For this reason, I feel locked in to Craiceann's Carapace. I also have mind over matter because I'm spamming hybrid flasks anyway so I can take the slight mana hit. Damage: Almost entirely done by the dancing dervish, buffed by my wrath aura + generosity, and me using smite to add lightning damage to attacks and curse on hit with conductivity. I also spam Flesh Offering and Vaal Haste when I can do improve damage. Gem links: Weapon (dervish) - Multistrike, Ruthless, Minion Damage, Added Lightning, Added Chaos, Added Cold (all chosen based on PoB DPS numbers) Chest - Smite, Curse On Hit, Conductivity, Ancestral Call, Faster Attacks Gloves - Phase Run, Increased Duration, Flame Dash, Vaal Haste Helm - Carrion Golem, Enlighten, Wrath, Generosity Boots - CWDT+Molten Shell+Convocation, Flesh Offering (not triggered by CWDT) Equipment: Craiceann's set for Aspect of the Crab and associated buffs, as well as some resists and loads of armour Jewellery is all for life/resists Tree jewels to buff minions and give me health Other things: I know the obvious way to buff this is to have loads of other minions, but I don't really enjoy the traditional summoner playstyle, so I'm looking to max out damage on just the dervish as much as possible (sorry) I tried using Triad Grip gloves to convert minion damage to elemental, and then Vis Mortis to Gain 20% of minion ele damage as extra chaos, but I became very squishy from Aspect of the Craba nd all that armour being swapped for some unscaled energy shield. I like this interaction though, so would be interested to know if anyone thinks it could work. The PoB link is my current delirium character imported, but with the skill tree updated to what I want it to be and with sockets fixed on how I want them (haven't managed colours yet). I dont have tons of money, Like an ideal set up would be less than 20 ex, I can try to craft items if that can save me money. I tried looking online for dual foil cyclone guides, but everything I found was outdated, so if there is a guide out there that is up to date that would be great. | Posted: 14 May 2020 05:18 PM PDT Decided to make the herald stacking guardian, as I have never experienced the true end game content of the game. I've played more this league than ever, and still am having much trouble. (first off i'm so very unlucky. I have gotten 4 exalts all league with over 10 days played on 3 characters) The only way I've made exalts is through similacrums which i've been getting quite slowly since i'm slowly doing t15/16s. I still get one shot allll the time. | LL Hiero Storm Brand - help with respeccing out of EO Posted: 14 May 2020 11:07 AM PDT I've been running a Hiero SB build for the past week and I'm generally satisfied with it, but the build really hit a wall at higher-end contents like Simu 20 and Sirus A8 (don't have the balls to try UE yet). I'm still running Elemental Overload though, and I really want to spec out of it and do a crit-based build, especially given I have Skyforth for power charge, but even when I play hard with PoB I can't get the build to do better. Do I really need a Bottled Faith to do crit builds these days? Would anyone help with improving my build? I have ~5ex budget right now. Current PoB: [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 14 May 2020 04:06 PM PDT Hi everyone, just found my first Kaoms Heart in HCSSF and want to make a build with it :) I thought about: Righteous Fire Juggernaut or Chieftain Got some Fire/Fire Multi/DOT Multi Cluster Jewels, they seem very good for RF this league, any thoughts about this? Burning Arrow Chieftain Never played this, not sure. Have Dyadian Dawn, could try to get Xophs Nurture while using a crafted 6 Link Imperial Bow. Is that feasible? I'm not sure Cremation Chieftain Also never played this, would use Sire of Shards it seems. Thoughts on this? Herald of Agony Juggernaut Got one Pure Agony Cluster Jewel and pretty much know how to build this, but I'd like to take advantage of the fire damage on Kaoms, even if its not that important. This would be more of my last resort if I can't get anything else to work. Open to more Suggestions and would love some additional insights on the builds above :) SSF doesn't mean it has to work on rares only, I have accumulated some gear over the league already :D Cheers [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 14 May 2020 12:49 PM PDT Hi good folks, I was hoping that someone on this subreddit will be able to give me some advice regarding my current build. The paste bin for it is https://pastebin.com/CXDEz00F My major worry right now is that the cluster jewels are not optimal and I'm trying to figure out if the ones I have are good enough or if I should buy new ones. I have around 20 EX that I would be willing to invest into better jewels. The build functions fine and it can kill Sirus at awk 7 but not 8 and it feels a bit squishy sometimes during the simulacrum or during very hard maps. I think that giving up some of the DPS which is around 10 mil according to POB and going towards more life would benefit a lot on the survivability front. | Tornado shot ranger. Need help with the squishy. Stuck in mid tier maps. Posted: 14 May 2020 07:31 AM PDT I have a tornado deadeye ranger build. I'm still working on my 2 six links for chest and chin soul. I have maxed 75% resistances. I can go either queen of the forest or belly of the best for the chest slot. My health is around 3900 w/ belly 3400 w/ queen but evasion jumps up 12% to 52% chance to evade. I am dying far to frequently trying to push higher maps and it all seems to be spike damage. Basically doing fine and then one shot out of nowhere. I have plenty of offense to clear, do bosses etc. I just am far to squishy. Not sure if I need more armor to lessen the spike damage of if it is better to stick with more evasion. Or if life is possibly too low. Any help appreciated. [link] [comments]  |

Before the season I've heard that gladiator is the go-to for this kind of build, however I see much more champions on the poe.ninja ladder. I'm not really sure how they differ in their playstyle, I would be very grateful if someone could briefly tell me which one is likely better for someone who only has around 20c in HC. | Posted: 14 May 2020 07:08 AM PDT I remember a few leagues ago seeing auto bomber builds using the hooves. I've been looking for any kind of guide or POB for something using them but no luck. Does anyone have any ideas or Pob for how to build an auto bomber using the hooves? I imagine cluster jewels could make something fun. | Help optimizing a Herald build Posted: 14 May 2020 09:04 AM PDT Good morning, Reddit! I'm sure you're all tired of seeing these kinds of posts at this point, but I'd really appreciate a bit of help figuring out where my next step should be to optimize my build. https://pastebin.com/JhhbhEkG Last night I finally had managed to craft a couple of pieces that were good enough to allow me to switch from the low life version reserving health to CI (Namely the shield and helmet -- Both still need work, but they're good enough!) for that 100% chaos resistance. I lost a fair chunk of damage -- About 4 million DPS -- in the switch, but since I'm sitting at right around 3.6 million Sirus DPS I'm not overly concerned. I can bring that back up. I tried to configure my PoB to be realistic for bossing -- No flasks, Vaal Haste/Discipline disabled, etc. All of that having been said, I'm not positive what the next steps should be for improving my DPS now that I've hit CI. There are some obvious steps -- %reserved on my mediums, rebalancing my resists to get cold above lightning for Wise Oak, getting to 100 for another notable or two -- But outside of those, which mostly feel like quality of life or minor DPS improvements, I'm not sure which direction to go. For a bit of background, this is my first league and I've farmed or crafted almost all of my gear myself. Had two 5-passive Voices drop in Simulacrums (bought the third), dropped a Bottled Faith (Two, actually -- Traded the second for my Unnatural Instinct), crafted all of my mediums either from purchased bases or bases that I've had drop. Ideally, I'd like to continue improving with what I can farm myself, but I feel like I might be hitting the point where that's unrealistic -- Are things like double corruption implicits going to be my next improvement?
