New Tool: PoE Hideout Helper - Helps you to import shared hideout's faster

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 05:49 PM PDT

    Hi there!

Recently I want to try out a new hideout, share by another player. My current hideout is also a shared one - but with a lot of edits afterwards. And I run into the same as of last time I imported a shared hideout:

"Damn, now copy&paste every unowned decoration again to buy them :("

This was annoying, and I searched a way/tool to do this faster ... unfortunately there was no one. Well, as software developer I tend to do less to get more, so i just crafted a little tool for this. In the end I polished it a bit, and hey ... it maybe can be helpful for others too :)

So I am releasing this (under a very creative name):

    Path of Exile Hideout Helper

This small tool helps you to import shared Hideouts from other Users by automating decoration search for masters.

    • It shows you detailed information from a shared hideout. (Used Decorations, Favor cost, Level per master)
    • If you also provide a file with decorations you own, everything you own will be highlighted.
    • An overlay helps you to buy needed decorations fast and easy.

    How exactly dose it work

To import a hideout you need the shared file and all decoration. If you import the hideout, the game will ignore all decorations you don't have. If you now export this "unfinished" hideout, you can compare both file and know exactly what you are missing.

This tool takes this list, grouped by Master, and shows every single item you need to buy. It copies the name of the item into the clipboard and just do CTRL+F and CTRL+V. You need to look for the highlighted item and buy it yourself. (Everything else would violate the ToS of the game!)

That's it, press next on the overlay (or the hotkey) and do this until you are done. No more single item Copy&Paste. Just looking and clicking :)

    I hope its helpful :)

If you have any questions/suggestions you can write me.
If you try the tool and find bugs you can file them at GitHub to have them collected (and fixed :D)

New features to CraftOfExile.com - Fossil optimizer and more!

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 08:16 AM PDT

Alot has changed since the announcement post I made for CraftOfExile.com. Since then I've added a bunch of new features as well as fixed some bugs and applied some tweaks to the logic for better accuracy.

    The main changes :

    • Fossil Optimizer : The fossil optimizer allows the user to get suggestions on which combinations of fossils would be best for a given set of requirements in regards to both raw number of attempts as well as for cost efficiency. For the SSF players out there you can block fossils from the computation by right-clicking on them and also limit the highest resonator to use with the corresponding option. The fossil optimizer code was redone recently to use the same algorithm as the standard calculation to better results.
    • Metacrafting method : Metacrafting is an advanced method of crafting an item using the metamod craftable mods from the bench. This is an expensive method to craft an item but this is usually the way the best items in the game are made. This option gives you an idea of what to expect before diving into it. Please note that catalysts are not yet included in the calculations as some in-game testing needs to happen to know their exact effect.
    • Advanced crafting methods : Alt+aug, Alt+aug+regal and Alt+aug+imprint+regal are now available as advanced crafting methods under the alteration method.
      • Alt+aug : A simple iteration of the alteration method where an augment is applied when relevant to maximize results.
      • Alt+aug+regal : Will consider any combination of 3 affixes set up (maximum 2 prefix / 2 suffix) in the requirements as valid in the computation. There is an RQ column that allows for the specification of a mandatory affix for more flexibility.
      • Alt+aug+imprint+regal : This method computes the probability of getting a combination of 1 succesful prefix and one suffix and then calculates the number of imprint+regals needed to achieve a success. You get a breakdown of each combination and their converted costs in chaos.
    • The converter costs box now allows switching between exalts and chaos and has a separate total for the number of tries specified.
    • Added basic bulk pricing functionality via static multipliers. A selector is now present under advanced options defaulted to active.
    • Sanctified fossil was finally added.
    • There is now an FAQ page as well as a Lifehacks page that contains lesser know things you can do to optimize your crafting.

I'm also running an experiment on the homepage to get data on mod quality from the community. Mods are pitted against each other and you get to vote on which are better. Feel free to participate at your leisure.

Please note that the import item button was removed a while ago as it proved too unreliable in its current iteration. I'm currently working of a revamp of the item parsing script and am planning on reintegrating it soon.

As always take a look at the How to use page if you are a new user, the Changelog page to see a more detailed rundown of what's been changed and what's to come, and the about page if you want to contact me.

You can also find me on the TFT Discord in the tool-dev-chat channel. They also have a crafting-discussion channel with alot of members willing to help out people with their crafting woes.

GGG - Please keep the map sustain on current level

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 09:47 AM PDT

Since Metamorph we are really swimming in map drops. And it feels great!

I'm playing since Warbands and what annoyed me more than anything in PoE was the constant struggle to run red maps. But no more.

Please, please, please don't change that. It's a small thing for the game but it's HUGE quality of life for the players to run whatever tier and whatever map you want without much effort.

    Thanks in advance!

    A.

Be honest, with the latest patch, how many of us just learned that shocked ground on maps is 50% and not 10%?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 10:56 AM PDT

I for sure thought it was like all other generic shocks and it was only like 10, maybe 15%. I was already somewhat afraid of shocked ground, but now I'm terrified of it. I know nothing's changed but I had no idea it was 50%.

Edit: apparently I was wrong and generic shock is always 15% but the point still stands

    Fan-made Intractable Glacial Hammer Rework

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 02:36 PM PDT

Originally an MS Paint meme picture of a Glacial Hammer rework for 3.11, turned into an intractable "game" where the player can throw the new and improved Glacial Hammer:

    https://bladestormgames.itch.io/glacial-hammer-rework

The controls for the game are listed below the game, but here is a repeat:

[Right Mouse Button] to perform a Glacial Hammer throw

[Up] and [Down] arrow keys to increase and decrease Attack Rate (The lower the number, the faster the Attack Speed)

    [1] [2] [3] [4] enables Support Gems (repeat click to enable/disable)

[M] mutes the warning sound that loops at & below 7 Attack Rate

If you prefer a video of the showcase, it can be viewed here:

Following Rule 10 of the subreddit, here is the crafting process:

    1) Started out as an MS Paint Meme idea for a Glacial Hammer rework for League 3.11

    https://i.imgur.com/Mf3cN4q.png

    2) Decided to make an animation of the idea using Aseprite (Also changed the concept of how the skill functions)

    https://i.imgur.com/Ev53KLX.gifv

    3) Decided it would be fun to make the skill rework intractable, and began making the "game" in Game Maker Studio 2.

    Updates:

    v1.2 Added Spiral Projectile Support

v1.2 Added an Executable version incase browser version doesnt work well for some.

    v1.1 Added Nova Projectile Support

What build made you to regret chosing it? Why?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 10:41 PM PDT

So I played Ngamahu Flame cyclone build, spend a lot fo currency and in the end understand that it does not worth it.

I hardly got 1kk DPS. Any other build easily can achieve 5kk+ DPS with 10 exalts.

Fortified pathfinder with poison explosion chain build guide

Hi. This is a more complete guide of a Pathfinder Scourge arrow ft. blast rain that I introduced previously in this subreddit. Since my last post, I've received some requests to do a more detailed explanation of how things work together. I found that I haven't properly explained the mechanics behind the scene such as how to get fortify with flask, how Blast Rain generates withered stacks, etc. Therefore, I decided to make a more thorough walkthrough on the mechanics.

I also add the poison explosion node from Unspeakable Gift as well as improving overall life pool, regen, and lift fortify duration to 6 sec, all at the expense of about 10% DPS loss. The poison explosion chain feels quite good with this build imo.

For those who don't like watching clips, I paste the build description below. Still, I recommend you watch the gameplay presented in the above link to get a hint on how it works.

Thank you for reading/watching thus far. This post also wraps up my league. Cheers and see you in the next one.

    Stay safe!

Edit: For retrivability purpose, this guide has made its way to the forum.
