Quick/Noob question about BL Mine build gameplay

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 12:01 AM PDT

So I'm planning to start next league with either ColdSnap/Vortex Occultist or BL Miner. To decided I've started a new SSF character to test both builds (trying BL Miner first).

Reading Blastchain support and that being the first time I'm playing a mine build I have a question. What is the correct way to use detonate?

    Blastchain says:

Supported Skills deal 5% more Damage for each prior Mine in Detonation Sequence

So, to have the max damage I need to press detonate only once, right? And then keep throwing mines to keep that detonation sequence going and to already have mines ready to when the first detonation sequence ends... so I can start a new one.

    Is that correct?

Are totems still viable? If so, what skill?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 03:19 AM PDT

Love totem playstyle but know they've been nerfed over the leagues and haven't played them since Delve. Are there any viable totem builds for 3.11?

Cheapest Build for Rushing AW8 and farming?

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 09:32 PM PDT

Hi everyone, looking for builds similar to miners in that they are cheap af (can league start with found/crafted gear and stay with it and get a tabula or get a cheap tremor rod and 5 link) and have strong clearing and bossing, to rush through to AW8 on league start. Don't care about leveling past 93, just cheap start and minimal buying upgrades (tabula, cheap uniques) to comfortably farm maps nonstop. Just hoping that there's another build with a different play style (only one I've found is poison bv).

Don't like the idea of getting cards for 6L bow and essences for TR type builds early, even tho it is scaling off of gem levels and cheap, unsure how solid it is for bossing/mapping.

Poison BV is alright, just tabula and rares until cheap Cold iron points, afraid of nerfs (same w miner)

Spellslinger looks slow bossing and more gear dependent(?)

Any other builds to try out? Thanks in advance!

Hopeshredder Raider with reworked Fragile Bloom

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 01:45 AM PDT

So I've got a build idea, but the build itself isn't new or revolutionary. It's your basic ele bow Raider (Cold Scourge Arrow in this case) that stacks frenzy charges, hopefully achieving 8 or 9 charges with items like Farrul's, etc. What I was thinking however is that with the new, reworked Fragile Bloom, we can further successfully mitigate the frenzy cold degen that Hopeshredder causes.

Given that we'd be building Raider and overall achieving a ton of evasion + dodge through the tree and gear, this means we'd have 7% regen almost constantly as we won't really be getting hit. If I am thinking right, with this new benefit we can probably then go for more damage or flat life on the tree instead of focusing on regen nodes, Arakaali pantheon, etc.

    Thoughts?

    Question: Scion Max Block Leaguestarter

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 01:38 AM PDT

    Hello,

I desperately want to play a max block Scion build but I cannot find any builds with melee skills. I know that Gladiator is pretty much the go-to but I want to play Scion (even if it cripples the build). Do you have any ideas how to build a max block Scion? Any hints how to approach the build?

Two hand Slayer or One Hand Shield max block Glad for starter

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 08:14 PM PDT

Looking over the slams and two hand changes coming, will Slayer be the go to for the potential new meta of two handers? Maybe I'm just getting my hopes up but I like the hard hitting effects that the slam skills give. Also now getting a melee mirage archer will be a nice touch. Or will one handed glad with max block be better and dps still on par? I know we gotta wait for patch notes but just wanted to see any ideas that others had.

    Pillar Champ Starter?

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 10:53 PM PDT

I'm thinking of league starting as a pillar of the caged god champion. Probably double strike or sweep.. maybe ground slam, not sure. Idea would be to let champ solve the accuracy problem and still get some nice block and crit from the tree.

    Sound decent? Wdyt?

Burning Arrow Starter: Chieftain or Elementalist && PoB Help

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 09:38 PM PDT

I'm looking into possibly doing a burning arrow starter this league and I was wondering which Ascendancy would be better. Both gear sets are pretty similar, but the main differences are in pathing and ascendancy while the rest stays besides golem jewels and stuff. I'm wondering which of the ascendancies are better and I'm also looking for some tips and advice to help improve the build. Thanks for any advice given!

    Ice shot league starter?

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 05:10 PM PDT

Does anyone have experience starting a league with ice shot? Seems safe to assume it wont change much for Harvest, so I'm curious if it is as bad as people say it is after the buffs in the last few leagues.

Suggestions for fast and satisfying builds similar to Kinetic Blast?

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 10:45 AM PDT

I've played kinetic blast builds in the past and I'm looking for builds that play similarly to kinetic blast for a 3.11 league starter. I mostly enjoy how fast kinetic blast plays and how satisfying it feels blowing everything up with it.

I'd like to use it as a league starter but I haven't really done any melee/physical builds let alone with facebreakers. Any help is appreciated.

Build Request - Sword and Board ZEUS!

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 12:07 PM PDT

Hi guys! I've played PoE on it's beta, way back, then never again, and plan on returning. I've been reading a lot, but have not seen my character anywhere - Templar + Lightining Strike + Tempest Shield. So I'll describe the character and then would kindly ask for guidance to build it - also PoB complete noob.

The idea of my character back then was to be able to solo content (so, tanky, armour and ES) while having decent clear speed. I've built so that my damage output was given out either as physical dmg in auto-attacks / reflecting dmg on shield OR in lightning dmg (LS, TS, Wrath, Passive Skill Tree). Have in mind that I aim it to be viable through levelling and viable endgame - doesn't need to be super ultra godmode clear and all.

If possible, I'd build exactly like that. But, on the other hand, I've seen some Arc builds, and thing looks awesome as well. So another possibility would be an Arc + Tank Templar.

Can you guys help me building? Thanks a lot!

    Consecrated Path ascendancy?

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 08:16 PM PDT

Anyone have an opinion on what ascendancy to go with for consecrated path? I checked poeninja and there were literally only six people playing the skill in delirium SC and the ascendancy distribution was fairly even (2 jugg, 2 inquis, 1 guardian, 1 scion). I figured a Marauder would prob be good, but I was surprised to not see any Berserker's on the list. I've never played a zerker before (I've played jugg), so it'd be a nice change of pace if it pairs well with consecrated path.

Gladiator Bladestorm -> Lacerate League starter guide

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 12:04 PM PDT

    Hey all,

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTOzYy02Mj8&feature=youtu.be

I have made a video for one of my favorite league starts. I consider the gladiator ascendancy to be very friendly for newer players and forgiving to use with the amount of defense it can provide.
We utilize 2 skills, Bladestorm (impale) and then later transitioning to Lacerate (bleed).

For those short on time don't worry about the video, I'm pretty sure what I've written up below + looking at the PoB will suffice. If you want all the info then definitely check out the video.

    POB: https://pastebin.com/T365KeQV

Bandits - Alira if needing resistances otherwise kill all for passive points.

The build will perform absolutely fine with NO investment at all, just rares you pick off the ground and a tabula (I got one off a drop during leveling for my SSF Character) upto high yellows, early reds. After that you definitely want to look into finding a good axe and trying to obtain a decent 6 link chest - either a rare one or a unique one. Anything that isn't a Tabula.

I understand that 3.11 hasn't released patch notes yet, but from the look of things this build hasn't been affected at all. The last time this build was affected was at the start of 3.10 with the changes to crafting our bleed mod on our axe.

Post questions below or in the comment section in my vid. I do apologise if it's hard to follow or I am unclear. I suck at speaking, but hey, I'm always trying to improve!

Need Help on improving Wallach Freeze Pulse Totem Hierophant at high end

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 03:01 PM PDT

    Hi!

So I played this for the majority of 3.10 and got to level 93.

    Build guide: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2685450/page/1

But I had a very tough time killing A8 Sirus or doing Wave 20 simulacrum against Kosis even in this Atziri's Reflection setup. I managed to clear everything else. a8 conquerors aren't that bad, it's just sirus and kosis and a handful of rippy combinations.

It's really a strong build and the Mana + MoM gives such an easy fix for large amounts of eHP which was ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL in delirium league as everything was so profoundly rippy

But my question is how can i upgrade my DPS further? I feel like i'm not nearly strong enough to successfully farm A8 sirus and i'm not sure where to spend my money. I want to try to do this build again in 3.11 but I don't want to run into this same problem of hitting a damage ceiling around 400k per totem (1.6 mil total) because that was simply not enough.

Where do you think I should focus my money for my next upgrade considering my gear and setup right now? Cluster jewels? A corrupted Soul Mantle? Better rings and boots so I can fit in a pandemonius somehow? The build guide thread kind of talks about clusters but in PoB it doesn't show any improvement so I'm not sure if i should bother?

    cheers and thanks!

    Character name NixDeliriumInquis https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Nixed/characters

    or in PoB Community: https://pastebin.com/p0sNijiM

(Config: No flasks active, no Vaal RF active)

Thanks guys good luck in 3.11

Early Bossing Viability of Steelmage's Lacerate/Bleed Gladiator

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 07:27 PM PDT

I am hoping to league start with a character who has fairly reliable and safe early end game bossing (65-80) and ultimately can scale in a big way. I know a lot of people are gravitating towards Occultist/Trickster Vortex/Cold Snap but I am not really interested in that play style after having tried it once before. I am leaning hard toward Steelmage's Lacerate/Bleed gladiator with FASTAF's version being something to strive for (and fail). I haven't played a bleed character before so I am curious how safe their bossing is in the early end game...obviously it is melee so that is risky but I thought the bleed dots might make for a jump in, jump out play style that is safe enough. Any thoughts, tips, etc are appreciated.

Help choosing a league start build that can go all the way

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 10:36 AM PDT

Like most people on here right now I'm going back and forth a lot trying to decide on a plan for a league starter.

Background for me is that the last couple of leagues I've made a bunch of characters in SSF all up to 80-85, viable through yellow maps and slowly grinding to red maps, but haven't reached guardians / Sirus / elder / shaper etc.

This league I want to focus on a single character, trade league, and try to get through all the endgame bosses instead of stalling out once I hit maps and trying different builds.

    What I need:

    - Same basic build from league start through final boss (Sirus A8?)

    - More or less smooth start from low level through Kitava A10 (but I don't mind if it's not gonna zoom through it)

    - Good clear speed for getting through maps / league mechanic

    - Capable of killing all bosses without extreme gear investment (but doesn't have to be able to do it using only crappy rares)

    - Effective through yellow maps with mostly self found / crafted / div card farmed gear

    - High ceiling in red maps & beyond w/ continuing gear investment (since I'm gonna try to play just this one build throughout the league)

    - I prioritize being able to take damage over clearing entire screens in a single click (tank > damage) but I don't want to spend 30 min killing bosses

    Playstyle:

I'm not really interested in a totally passive minion experience.
I had been thinking golementalist but I decided I wanted something a bit more involved. I've played cyclone / HOAG and enjoyed that just fine; I don't mind minions as long as I'm doing more than just hanging back and buffing / collecting loot. I've already played a couple totem builds to 85+ so I'd prefer not to play something that's totally totem based. I like an active playstyle but I don't need or want to be popping flasks constantly and spamming buttons. I could get used to a mine playstyle if that's the best option though.

I hope that's not too precious or limiting. I appreciate your input; I know there are a million posts like this right now. Thanks in advance.

Need advice on a good league starter!

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 07:42 AM PDT

I work all the time(lots of overtime). I need a build that'll cater to me. Something that won't be budget heavy and not hard to gear for. Ive only made endgame once with hasunic's TR trickster. I enjoyed it alot. I like bow playstyle but I want to venture out and try something new. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank in advance!

Critique my twist on wallachs' holy flame totem build.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 04:17 PM PDT

I am a returning player after about 3 years and I already had a holy flame totem build partially made in standard, so I figured I'd just update it. I already have the Sire of Shards and soul mantal and can fill the rest of the gear with random stuff. I wanted to focus on clear speed and dps. Open to almost any changes to make a more viable build.

Newbie looking for advice on his first own build

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 08:12 AM PDT

Hello, I've been playing for a while now using other people's PoB's and build guides and I having reached Endgame for the first time in Metamorph and again in Delirium, I figured this league was the ideal time to break some more firsts. I wanted to learn how to create my own build and use this leagues crafting focus to learn how to craft.

Now as for learning how to plan a build, I was looking to design my own Leaguestarter preferably for SSF. From what we've seen so far and from my own bias towards playing Melee, I've decided I would really like to design my build around Ice Crash with some war cries thrown in.

The problem is, I don't really know where to begin... I opened up PoB and I played around with the skill tree, to the point where I'm reasonably sure I want to play a juggernaut.

So up till now I know I want Ice Crash and Juggernaut, and this is where I'm a bit stuck. I lack the game knowledge to decide what skills I want to use alongside Ice crash and how to decide to go crit or non crit or if it's possible to go full conversion to cold?

I've been looking around the PoE wiki and I've noticed if I can get my hands on a Hrimsorrow, I could go full Cold damage, which would save me from phys reflect map mods, I think?

Apart from those gloves I have no idea as to gearing this character as well...

I have a PoB pastebin that's the result of me trying to figure it out by playing around that I guess I could share:

    https://pastebin.com/6VUcE2kT

There's just so much to all of this that I'm feeling a little bit lost... Is there some resource that I'm missing to get me in the right direction?

LL Ball Lightning Miner - Survivability Help

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 03:23 PM PDT

I have been playing around with BL mines to prepare for the upcoming league to see if it's something I want to league start. I started with a life build + tremor rod and everything felt really good with acro + phase acro. I blew through the early mapping phase and made it to red maps without any issues—I leveled to 93 playing pretty recklessly.

I saw that most miners transitioned into Shavs / ES builds down the line, so I thought I'd give it a try to see how this build scales with some investment. I followed this guide which was recommended to transition from a life build. The damage is great.... but now I can't seem to survive. I'm sitting around 8k ES when buffed, but I just feel like I have no room for error. I know this league is generically RIP-y, so getting 1 shot in juiced T16 isn't too surprising, but I feel like I'm getting picked off in T14 non-juiced / non-fog encounters more than I'd expect.

I mostly played melee in past leagues, so maybe I'm just really bad at utilizing my mine range to clear, but I just want to make sure there's nothing glaring that I'm missing in my defensive layer.
