Updates to the Path of Exile Services Trading Discord Posted: 08 Jul 2020 06:34 PM PDT Hey all,We (the mods) been hard at work updating the Path of Exile (Services) Trading Discord server these past few weeks. We added a reputation / vouch bot, channels for harvest craft buying/selling, a detailed guide on preventing scams, and (in progress right now) pingable/mentionable roles for common harvest crafts! We're also banhammering scammers actively now!" Don't remember what this server is? See our announcement post for a refresher. Essentially the goal of the server is to allow organized, safe trading for non-trade screen transactions. Boss/breachstone rotations, harvest/bench/temple crafts, bulk sales, challenge completions, etc. We couldn't have added these features if not for some of our new Trading mods, /u/delasteve , /u/2ne8 and GRyzL#9113. Please send them love for all of this if you see them around! Link: Path of Exile Services Trading Discord(PS: We still have a #toucans channel) [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jul 2020 06:00 AM PDT I see a lot of "omg Harvest best ever" posts, which are out of touch to say the least since league has ridiculously poor retention numbers and keeps shedding players every day. What people do like, in my opinion, are the crafting options, not the shell they come in which is very poor and cumbersome. And since game suffers greatly from bloated content feature creep, the last thing we need is yet another league mechanic going core. My opinion is we need to take some of the crafting options from Harvest, and integrate them while cutting away all the fat that comes with the Harvest mechanic as a whole. Drop the seeds and the grow mechanic completely. Old crafting mechanics keep getting nerfed while still being kept in the game while additional new much more powerful ones get added, this leads to not only the game becoming bloated, but it makes it less and less accessible to new players who are overwhelmed at the endless stream of currencies/consumables/mechanics thrown at them.
They have not kept up with the times and power creep left them behind, on top of that GGG nerfed most of the ones that people used. Most of the "special" ones (Insanity/Delirium etc) are only used for one or two mods at best. Rework and rebalance them. I would say add some of the more interesting crafts to the bench and remove the mechanic altogether, but GGG sold stash tabs for it, so i'm guessing that makes the removal not viable.
There's only a few interesting beast crafts, rest are useless fodder. Would also add the "Menagerie" is a waste of time and resources, beasts could simply be stored in a UI, and if you want to capture one to list for trade, you simply click on it and click "capture", not having to know what part of the menagerie to go in, finding the beast, then be careful not to missclick on the wrong one since they often overlap and keep moving. This is a good example of a cool idea on paper that is terrible in reality and it serves no real purpose. EDIT : (i have been informed you can capture them from the UI, to my and other people's amazement, you can stop telling me how dumb i am, i know i'm a stupid beast now)
EVERY. SINGLE. LEAGUE. Groundhog Day, the game mechanic. Here's a fix. You do Betrayal content, you get "Reputation". Reputation allows you to invest in different "Research Trees" to unlock crafts. The most coveted crafts are at the end of the trees and require some grinding.
A random fossil - > Has a Vaal modifier - > What's a vaal modifier ? Another one - > More Caster modifiers -> What's a caster modifier ? I know GGG is aware of this problem but i cannot stress how important this is. Game is becoming more and more dependent on third party websites and applications. So that leaves Harvest. Do we like the crafts ? I don't have a source on hand, but my guess is most of us do like the crafts. And we would like the crafts to stay (obviously with some balancing). I think i speak for most of us when i say we would rather drop or craft our own gear than trade for it. BUT, my guess is also that people, most people, don't like the garden, and definitively don't want yet another cumbersome mechanic added to the game. My solution is this : You have a chance to find a Harvest Cache while mapping (i say restrict it to maps and buff Essences for easier leveling crafting, for example making essences augment items rather than reroll/upgrade to rare). After activating the Harvest Cache, mobs spawn, you fight them and drop crafts that automatically go to your crafting bench when you pick them up. You have a small chance to spawn a portal to the garden where you can encounter one of the bosses for the top tier crafts. Bosses drops fragments, gather all of them and you can spawn a portal to the ultimate Harvest fight vs Oshabi. On top of all this discussion about crafting, i would also like to see some other past league mechanics get the chop/get improved.
EDIT : A lot of people focus on stupid shit details in my post instead of focusing on the essence. I threw together this post in 5 minutes, i don't work for GGG to properly come up with a detailed analysis and solutions. The gist of the post is Harvest crafting is good, the Garden is not, game is bloated and many past league mechanics need adjustments and refining. What GGG should take from the bad numbers this league is pulling should not be that strong crafting options = bad player count, league doing badly probably stems from not that great patch in terms of content/garden being unappealing/lack of extra "juice" in maps which we got used to from previous leagues. GGG needs to listen and trust it's playerbase when we ask for simply focusing on streamlining and improving existing content while we prepare for PoE 2 rather than continuously adding new stuff. Look how horribly Delirium got added to the core game when i think a majority of people asked for it NOT to go core and simply add Delirium Orbs/Simulacrum/Cluster Jewels to the core game as regular drops. How the game radically changed for me after playing 4k hours over 6 years. Posted: 08 Jul 2020 11:03 PM PDT First of all, this is an appreciation post, from someone whose mother tongue is not english. Sorry in advance. I've been playing since Beyond/Rampage, almost every league (with the exception of synthesis) and after Delirium, I was seriously considering never playing PoE again. We play as a group of 4-5 every league, and every new league introduces stuff harder to kill, crafting bases harder to obtain and tougher challenges. For the most parts, it's wonderful, and that's what keeps the game alive. But it came to a point where doing anything regarding our neverendingly increasing goals required us to play 5-6 hours a day for two weeks per new league. With Harvest, we decided to play as Guild SSF. So basically, we have a private league just the 5 of us, and keep item exchange between us. SSF also makes picking a build so much easier. You don't really choose, the game choses for you. For example we looted 2 cospri's malice and a shavrone in the first week. And even if it's a build that none of us ever considered playing, the fact that a cospri's malice represents a build in our mind and not a market value made us consider a new way of approaching the game. 1st: Thank you GGG, Harvest is a blessing. Not having tougher content, but having new means to reach previous content is amazing. 2nd To all the guys who seem to be burnout of PoE because of the trade, try SSF, there is no going back for us! Crafting an entire set of Fire BV gear for "quite cheap" Posted: 09 Jul 2020 09:58 AM PDT So first of all this will later on be made as video series but I wanted to share all the crafts first so you can make yourself some cool gear. These items can be used on all fire BV chars while the belt for example is precisely for utilising warcrys because of the cdr Will be the guide but it is FAR from finished so don't mind it yet Some of these are not done yet cuz it takes a while in SSF but I provide screenshots for those I do own Bow (Not finished due to exalted scarcity in ssf
3a. Annul all prefixes but spell damage (Cost X Annuls) 3b. Check step 10 for prefixes as well You need at least 1 open suffix and all other suffixes need to be either Cold, fire, lightning, chaos, life or attack modifiers.
11a. (Cheap version) Craft t2 chance to deal double damage and be happy for now 11b. (Expensive version) Craft "Can have 2 crafted modifiers" (Cost 2 ex)
Bonus steps -Synthesise your bow via t4 plants and pray to god -Colour your item via plant crafting (You can more or less spam purple plants and use "Some colours that look good" to get your colours eventually
5a %fire t1 hit. Go to 8 5b %fire (t2+) / fire over time multi
Bonus Steps 16 If you prefer life over leech or gain leech from another source use add life remove life at 13 untill you hit t1 flat life
Cheap and fast (Might miss life) 4a. Use "remove NON-FIRE add fire" untill the item has Flammability on hit, Increased fire damage and phys as fire 5a. Item might be full now. If you have "add # fire to attacks" you can remove that via "Remove attack modifier" 6a. Craft life or use "Augment life" and then "Remove LIFE add life" untill t1 life. Go to 8 More expensive but guarantees life 4b. Clean the item via "remove X" and craft 5b. Augment fire untill you hit Flammability and increased fire damage (You can not reroll fire damage for cheap) 6b. Item might be full now. If you have "add # fire to attacks" you can remove that via "Remove attack modifier" 7b. Augment fire for "# fire damage per endurance charge" or "chance to ignite & # fire damage against ignited enemies". When you hit "# fire to attacks" go to 6b
For the second ring you can basicaly do the same. The flammability is wasted but the ring still is very good Gloves
6a. If you want spell damage augment caster twice 7a. Remove/Add caster untill spell damage t1 8b. Augment caster for Unnerve 6b. If you want much life remove/add caster till unnerve is the only prefix
Boots
9a. Augment life for hybrid and remove defence add life till t1 10a. Remove/Add cold/lightning/fire for t1 resistances If you don't want an immune to freeze flask 9b. Craft cannot be frozen 10b. Remove/Add lightning/fire for t1 resistances (Cold might remove the craft)
For resistances I recommend cold and lightning since fire can be more expensive due to fire damage over time hunter mod Helmet
Belt For belts you have many choices. Here is just one
If you dont need resistances 5a. Augment caster and remove/add caster till t1 spell damage during flask 6a. Augment caster for Cast speed during flask effect 5b. Augment caster for cast speed 6b. Augment speed for movespeed during flask effect If you need resistances 5a. Craft resistances and swap them over via "remove X add X"
For some extra defence
For the quiver [The Signal Fire] is BIS For the body I like Carcass Jack but you can use explody chest as well (Does not synergise with infernal cry well) Amulet is the only one that has a video yet. They take quite some time to make [link] [comments]

r/PathofExile's Ascent to Emperor: Reddit Plays the PoE Gamebook Posted: 09 Jul 2020 11:05 AM PDT Hello, reddit! Yesterday I received possibly my favorite supporter item to date (not to brag): the Path of Exile Gamebook! For those that don't know, it's a choose-your-own adventure style story, with you playing as Weylin, an Ezomyte slave, chosen to seek their destiny in the Lord's Labyrinth and attempt to ascend to the throne as Emperor of Wraeclast. The gameplay is a series of puzzles, traps, and fights for your life against the other "contestants", the inhabitants of the Labyrinth, and the Labyrinth itself. As you progress, you grow stronger through a skill tree system similar to the main game, and find equipment to make you more formidable, before you either meet your timely end or earn your prize. How it would work is simple. Every day, at Noon EDT, I'll post the text for the current page, and a picture of it (both to keep myself honest, and so you can appreciate the art - it's gorgeous). Stats will be tracked in the post, as well as our equipment, passives, and other important information. Combat is resolved with rolls of 2d6, so I will roll those out myself and narrate the results. Voting on our course of action will be an easy "highest voted comment wins". Naturally, if you have played through yourself, please avoid spoiling it for others! Likewise, obviously trolly comments will be ignored. Express support or repulsion in this thread. If enough Exiles give a damn, I'll begin tomorrow! [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jul 2020 07:43 AM PDT I fought her every league since she was added, but only made the observation when fighting her while leveling my dude in Harvest. Until then, I thought Yeena was there just for show. You can see it in action at 1:57 on her mechanics video. [link] [comments]

Apologies for blaming the PoE servers, turns out it was me Posted: 08 Jul 2020 04:48 PM PDT Hi, A few days ago, I made a post about the many issues I've been facing in PoE this league (lag, freezes, crashes, etc...). Yesterday, I decided to take a break from PoE and installed D3, and what do you know? it's the same issues with lag and freezes. Turns out it was my ISP. I'm getting it fixed next week, but I wanted to mention it and apologize for blaming PoE, sometimes it is the servers, but this time it wasn't. Cheers! [link] [comments]
