Blade Fall/Blade Blast How does it work?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 05:19 AM PDT

    Hello fellow exiles!
I am making my first character on Harvest and was interested in the Blade fall- Blade Blast build, so i made myself a Shadow whos now only level 12 :)
I have been following the following guide but i got some questions related to it:
    https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2785328/page/1
1- Seems it is using CoC to trigger blade fall, and then the Poet's pen to trigger Blade Blast. Since the video is so fast i am having trouble following the correct combo here, is it the following?
Barrage crits and activates blade fall, then he will basic attack with Poet's pen for Blade Blast? I dont see any connected skill so it is used using a basic attack that will trigger the gem on this item?

2- I am a bit confused with the correct skill tree progression, since on the build i see different ones:
a-This one is under the leveling section:
    www.poeurl.com/cMo6
b- There is a different one under skill tree explanation :
    http://pastebin.com/0KSpFY9a

I am confused on which may be more effective for it..

Any help will be appreciated :)

    Best regards

Looking for advice on a build concept (Raider with Mistwall and Wind Dancer)

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 11:20 PM PDT

This is a combination I really want to try, I love the Mistwall's concept. However, a couple things worry me - namely making sure my damage doesn't stall out in end game and that I'm not stuck with like 5000 health (and fixing the latter will exacerbate the former).

Harvest will help a lot in both regards, but I still worry. Ordinarily coughing up some damage for a shield would provide some help in the getting good life department that right-side builds often struggle with. But not here, so I'll be stretched thin covering my life and damage on the tree.

So the main thing I am trying to decide on is: what skills can help with these problems the most? I think, ideally, I probably want to stay away from skills that are difficult to scale and/or require bolt-ons to clear properly (e.g. require heavy investment in aoe to not feel like ass - I may not have skill tree points or gem slots to spend on such things).

Currently I am leaning towards doing a physical skill, probably using impale, and avatars of the slaughter/chase over the elemental skill route but am also totally open to argument. Once I have the skill in mind, the POB should be pretty easy from there. I will also be able and willing to throw quite a bit of currency at this build if I need to.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

p.s. I'd prefer not to play cyclone :p

    Animate Guardian help

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 11:51 AM PDT

I spent all of my currency gearing up an SRS build, probably about 25 exalt. I bought Mask of the Stitched Demon, Kingmaker, Southbound, and a chest with the "Nearby Enemies are Blinded" and "Gain %10 of maximum life as energy shield" for my Animate Guardian and two maps in my guardian ripped to T2 seeds. Is that just something that is going to happen consistently or am I doing something wrong? Animate Guardian is lvl 18 base with +6 from global mods so lvl 24 total.

    Berserker help needed

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 03:44 AM PDT

Hello boys I am pretty noobish player. I mostly play some copied build from poe ninja reach t10-15 maps and stop around there. I wanted to make my own project with some shitty axe/shield perforate bleed something berserker (i like how he goes brrrr) but I am really struggling defensively.

    https://pastebin.com/93dtW4ud

Here is what I have so far. I decided to get some basic axe/bleed/shield/life and go from there.

I want to make it tanky but I do not know how. I am missing on game mechanic knowledge so I am asking for help.

I think about gettin aspect of carnage as the last berserker asc but I am afraid I will get one shot when I get into a map at this point.

Basically I got fortify node and use fortify with my main skill but I am not sure if it does it. Maybe move fortify to leap slam and put ruthless in 6l? Any uniques I should look for?

I also got 2 cast when damage taken setups. I swapped steelskin with vulnerability since I was not really feeling it. With immortal call/molten shell/active berserk I feel very weak. I die when I enter the temple of Atzoatl. Even at 2 packs is hard and rely on health potion and brrr leech to stay alive.

I am aware that when I level a bit more and get a little better gear should be OKish but I am looking for general guidance how to go for a bit more defensive setup/tree/items/etc.

Any suggestions how to fix this character? My main goal is nothing fancy. If I manage to simply spam t14-16 should be enough for now. Will look further to kill some boss after I learn how to play.

Best Lazy Screen Clear (Prolif?) Builds on medium budget?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 03:23 AM PDT

I'm a super lazy person. I play Cospris CoC Assassin and have to zig-zag around maps to clear both sides of the screen. I'm looking for a build (not ED/C) that can just get the mobs on both sides without missing too many in T16 speed farming. No bossing required, only map bosses.

Budget like 40 exalts and got a very good explo / power charge on crit / % int regalia that I wouldn't mind using.

Ideas for next build with very little currency

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 12:49 AM PDT

I started as an Earthquake / Earthshatter Berserker but I find the playstyle to not be for me. It's only a level 67 character but I don't feel like playing on it anymore. Because of that I have very little currency (only 7c). Any ideas for a new build?

    Best SSF league starter?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 06:17 PM PDT

I'm pretty bored of trade league and looking to play some SSF. I'm just wondering what are the best options. I was thinking maybe a skele/zombie necro. Or I never tried Dominating blow not sure how good that is in ssf? Or maybe just ED trickster or something. Looking for something relatively fast and good at bosses

Another weird idea that i will probably never do, Ignite Scourge Arrow Trickster

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 08:20 AM PDT

    https://pastebin.com/uWWGNMUb

Idea being, scourge arrow scales ailments with a massive more modifier and covers a massive area.

Scourge arrow converts 60% of phys to chaos, xoph bow gives 7L and converts the rest of phys to fire, signal fire adds another 35% as fire, zerphi hearts makes it so chaos damage will shock and ignite. Trickster is ideal due to it being a channeling skill, extra phys as chaos, and dot more. Scale frenzies so you have more attack speed. Im thinking this would have really fast clear but idk, i dont play trade so i would never get these items, maybe next league ill do trade if it doesnt get nerfed too hard.

    Feedback - CI Vortex/Cold Snap

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 09:18 PM PDT

    https://pastebin.com/PUpGE4Jc

I have limited knowledge of the game/it's my first character. Please let me know what changes I should make and/or what's next. My plan is to craft a wand with a "trigger a socketed spell when you use a skill" and upgrade to ES glove.

    Thanks in advance!

    Is Health regen stacking viable?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 12:09 PM PDT

Hi, I'm new the game (about 3-4 hours in atm) and I'm wondering if stacking the percentage health regen and percentage heatlh increases is a viable build? I had a go with the website build thingymabob and got about 7-8% tick regen, with some spared for focusing two handed weapons in a few tree's. Is that okay, or is it garbage?

I just really want a regen type build.

Avatar of Fire, Ngamahu's Flame/Cyclone Ascendant // Need some help // [Theroycraft]

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 12:08 PM PDT

gonna link the POB first: https://pastebin.com/qjG7g6BD

Basically I need some advice, the Build started off, when i first played the Ngamahu Raider variant 2 leagues back (kinda skipped delirium due to health issues), and i kinda felt that reflect immunity would be nice to have.

Fast forward to now where i crafted this together (Essentially move the build to scion, and take elementalist and raider ascendancies) but am kinda unhappy despite outdoing the original build in Damage, Evasion and Health.

My main issue with the build is the fact, that i have to map across the tree essentially just for a single node ( Avatar of fire), and feel like i could do things more efficiently if i didn't have to (sadly afaik, you can not annoint Avatar of fire but maybe i am missing something).

    My questions are:
    1. Did i do some big No No's on this build ?
    2. What can i do better, both specifically for this build (with my issues) and in future ?
    3. Will there be content that i will just not be able to do with this kinda build?

    Next build recommendations

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 09:06 AM PDT

I've nearly got my first build where I want it (cyclone impale gladiator) and I'm about ready for my next build. In terms of priorities:

1.) Tanky. I love tanky builds, even if it has to be expensive.

2.) Instant effect of skills. Last league I tried ED/C trickster and while it was enjoyable, I didn't love the delayed effect deaths. I'm worried I would feel the same about mines.

3.) However I did love the AOE and especially the chaining deaths. At a minimum I would like my next build to have decent AOE, and I'd consider the ability to chain deaths a bonus.

4.) If possible focuses on a ranged and/or non-physical skill just to mix it up from my current physical cyclone build. Maybe something that focuses on the caster side of the tree.

I saw a build guide for a tanky righteous fire Jugg/Chieftain and it checked a lot of boxes, the only reason I'm not 100% sold on it is because it involves cyclone. I LOVE cyclone but I'm just flopping to change things up a bit if possible.

What do you think? Anything you enjoy that feels smooth and tanky?

Feeling a little lost on the build.

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 11:56 AM PDT

Yes I know, more bv poison assassin saturation. But it's a fun build.

So I've made it to T14's and mapping is a complete breeze. Bossing is okay, but the big guys one tap me if I'm not careful. And I attempted a Sirus 5 and that, welll that was just a sad spectacle. No chance

    My build is here https://pastebin.com/qpQz17FR

If I've calculated correctly I should be approximately dodge cap and if I can blind enemies my evasion should help me not get hit much at all. And then IC with endurance charges to cover when I do.

Basically I'm asking if I've scuffed this build up and where can I go to improve it defensively wise. Also I know I need life on several pieces of gear. That's my main priority. Just aug life and add/remove is hard to come by in the garden.
