The shaper loot "chase unique" starter pack, the total worth of all the pack is 34c. and the saviour is 30c btw. Feels kinda use less to farm bosses in the game again.

Fully cleared every zone from the Twilight Strand to Oriath

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 03:11 AM PDT

    TLDR:

    - Cleared every single zone until: /Remaining --> 0 monsters remain

    - It took 14 hours

    - Had fun every time I didn't miss any monsters in a zone

    - Monsters remain function has bugs in some zones

    - Still sane. Wouldn't recommend this challenge to anyone

    More:

I wanted to spice up my leveling progress, since I usually rush through story without any sightseeing, so I thought I could slow myself by fully clearing every zone in Wraeclast. I also wanted to know if it was even possible and how long would it take.

I decided that SRS summoner would be pretty nice build for this challenge.

Act1 & Act2 were quite brutal right from start so I knew what I was getting into. Elemental monsters liked to hide invisible in the Ship Graveyard shorelines and act 2 had zombies and stone elemental buried in ground. I was very close to giving up since I hadn't waste too much time at that point.

Act3: My character got stronger and I didn't have any major issues, so I decided to keep going and almost started to enjoy this challenge. It was very satisfying to get 0 monsters remain without any backtracking.

Act4: Fun did not last since Kaom's Dream introduces Volcanic Golems (Meteor golem dudes that land very slowly). Some of them decided to hide for some time, so I decided to call it a day and I finished that act the day after. Little did I know that worst was yet to come.

Act5: Karui rebel allies. They are counted towards monsters remaining, so I had to bait enemies to kill them before progressing. Oriath Square also spawns frightened citizens that can walk trough some walls, so I had to catch them before they could get away. This had to be done without killing all enemies, since I still needed them to kill Karui Rebels in the zone. Fun stuff. Rest of the act went nicely excluding the Cathedral Rooftop, since I learned that it couldn't be done. Kitava would always remain.

Act6: Has so many bugs. This includes parasite monsters that spawn two screens behind you and game bug that causes miscalculation in monster remaining number in a zone. If you want to try out this bug I recommend fully clearing the Western Forest since I have fully cleared it 5 times (including with few different characters) and it will always left monsters remain >0. I managed to force my way through this bug by running around and exploding corpses with flesh offering. For some reason that would fix this bug (this also worked in other bugged zones in act6. weird stuff).

Act7: Was very kind until Temple of decay and rising spiders.

Act8: Was a nightmare. The Quay contains completely invisible Undying monster packs that seems to emerge/explode from out of nothing and you cannot guess where remaining 3 monsters are. They also have smallest spawn radius in the game, so I wasted about 1 hour in that zone.

Act9: Was easy except for the few annoying zones. Boiling Lake Basilisk have to be baited away from its spawn location so that killing it will unpetrify all nearby Imperial soldiers. This took about dozen tries to save all soldiers. Other annoying zone was Rotting core, since some bone archers that spawn in there are resurrect after x-amount of time, so I had to find and destroy all of those corpses.

Act10: Was really nice since it didn't contain any invisible riser monsters or bugs.

Lab: I also completed every labyrinth zone excluding the Eternal labyrinth.

    Thoughts:

This was most masochist challenge I have done so far, and I have done few hard ones before. Most annoying thing was to fully clear and triple check some zones only to find that monsters remain is bugged. Otherwise it was nice to see some visual things that GGG has added to the game and i have missed by running past them without looking or by going too fast.

Sorry for bad English & grammar.

    Elementalist needs an obvious rework

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 11:37 AM PDT

POE.ninja has empirical evidence that Elementalist in her current iteration is not even an effective elemental spell-user (of any casting type): https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds?class=Elementalist

The most commonly-used spell with the Elementalist (among the top-ranked players at least) is Ball Lightning at only 4%, and practically all of them rely on a Cast while Channeling setup with Cyclone! The next most commonly-used spell is Arc at a mere 1%.

Right now, Elementalist is basically the junior golem-using minion user to Necromancer, her cousin who has 4x as many users and whose two primary playstyles (corpses and minions) are equally used. Something is really wrong with this ascendency if even top-ranked players are generally not picking Elementalist to play elemental spells.

To add insult to injury, I removed Necromancer from the statistics (because they skew the statistics by representing a quarter of the top-ranked player base) and looked at which elemental spells are the most widely-used and who uses them: https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds?class=!Necromancer

Here's the top 5 most used elemental spells and the ascendency class that uses them the most:
    1. Ice Nova (8% of non-Necromancers) -- Assassin (93%)
    2. Ball Lightning (8% of non-Necromancers) -- Saboteur (46%)
    3. Storm Brand (5% of non-Necromancers) -- Assassin (85%)
    4. Vortex (2% of non-Necromancers) -- Occultist (73%)
    5. Arc (2% of non-Necromancers) -- Ascendant (32%; among them only 50% picked the Witch Ascendency) and Guardian (22%)

In other words, Elementalist is not even a competitive option for using elemental spells compared to classes that do not obviously specialize in spells, much less specifically elemental spells.

Now, I know that maybe these statistics are a little misleading because Elementalist can focus on elemental damage in general and not just spells, so here are the top 5 most used elemental attacks among non-Necromancers:
    1. Ice Shot (2% of non-Necromancers) -- Deadeye (86%)
    2. Sorry, I cannot go on because the next highest elemental attack is Elemental Hit at 0.6% of non-Necromancers, and even then Elementalist comes in at only 5th at 9% representation for Elemental Hit.

What about conversion? Here are the top 5 physical attacks and spells that could in theory be converted to pure elemental damage and their biggest users:
    1. Cyclone (18% of non-Necromancers) -- and after excluding Cast on Critical/Channelling triggers, the biggest users are Slayer, Gladiator, and Champion (83% total); including those triggers, the single biggest user is Assassin (53%)
    2. Blade Vortex (8% of non-Necromancers) -- Assassin (74%)
    3. Barrage (3% of non-Necromancers) -- Deadeye (74%)
    4. Split Arrow (2% of non-Necromancers) -- Gladiator (90%)
4a. Lacerate is skipped because it is a bleed-based attack
    5. Power Siphon (2% of non-Necromancers) -- Assassin (63%)

Finally, Heralds as main skills, because Elementalist does have a Herald ascendency line:
Herald of Ash: Negligible usage (7 users on the POE.ninja list, none of them Elementalists; ironically 4 Occultists, who seemingly have zero synergy with the Herald of Ash, are using it as a main skill)
Herald of Ice: Negligible usage (4 users on the POE.ninja list, none of them Elementalists)
Herald of Thunder: Used by 2% of non-Necromancers, and among this subset only has 2% representation among Elementalists

I hope these statistics make clear that Elementalist is absolutely atrocious at what she does. Please rework her. For a start, please at minimum rework her 2-point nodes Shaper of Desolation and Pendulum of Destruction. Their power is simply non-existent, which effectively makes those two lines extremely expensive 4-pointers to get to the useful end nodes. Even then, the power of those 4-point nodes are questionable compared to the power available to other ascendencies from their own 4-point nodes.

    A guild hideout?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 01:20 AM PDT

Is it just my friends and I who have been wishing for the longest time now or does anybody else fancy the idea of a shared guild hideout? That would be pretty nice, even if it was an MTX we'd spend the money on that at a heartbeat.

How much do you care or interact with Standard? (strawpoll)

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 01:18 PM PDT

    https://www.strawpoll.me/20701158

The latest Baeclast with Chris Wilson made it clear they still put a good amount of thoughts into Standard and how new leagues will interact with it and protecting it and its players, while simultaneously doing a very risky league this time that will impact it greatly.

This made me wonder how people feel about Standard in general?

*I know this poll will be a bit biased because it is only reddit users not an absolute player pool's opinion.

How to harvest-craft explode chest with zero currency

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 11:46 PM PDT

Well, zero currency except for the crusader chest (and maybe a little bit for bench crafts).

Most guides for crafting this item focus on using rare and expensive targeted augments/annulls, or "remove x, add x" crafts. I'm going to show you how to make this chest using only the most common crafts: "reforge phys", "remove non-phys, add phys", "remove non-life, add life", "remove non-fire/cold, add fire/cold".

    1) use reforge phys on your crusader chest. You now have an armor with a random phys mod. Repeat this step until you have at least 5 affixes. If you have 5 affixes, bench craft any random cheap affix.

    2) use "remove non-phys, add phys" 3 times. Now you'll have an armor with phys mods on 3 prefixes and 1 suffix, 6 total affixes, and one of the prefixes is guaranteed to be the explode mod.

    3) use "remove non-life, add life" repeatedly, until you've deleted all of the phys prefix mods except for explode. Keep in mind that you definitely have a chance of deleting the explode mod. If that happens, go back to step 2 until you get it back, or restart from the beginning, depending on which crafts you have more of.

At this point, your item basically looks like this:

    • +Life
    • +Life/+armor
    • Explode
    • Regenerate x life per second/x% additional physical damage reduction
    • Random suffix
    • Random suffix

    4) repeatedly use your "remove non-fire/cold, add fire/cold" crafts to fill out your resists, alternating the elements until you get both types. Do NOT use the lightning version, since crusader chest has a lightning prefix, which means that you can accidentally remove the explode mod. If you want lightning resist, craft a fire or cold resist first, then use the fairly common "replace x resist with lightning of the same tier" craft.

    your armor looks like this:

    • +Life
    • +Life/+armor
    • Explode
    • Fire resist
    • Cold resist
    • Random suffix

You can now use your expensive targeted augments and annulls to get t1 life, t1 resists, etc. The explode mod is safe as long as you don't use a craft that can remove random prefixes.

    Hopefully this has been helpful.

    EDIT:

seems a lot of you missed the point.

the purpose of this guide is to show you how to craft a safe-to-craft-further explode chest, with basically no investment past the proper crusader base.

i accomplish this, by using only the most common harvest crafts: "reforge x", and "remove non-x, add x" crafts. these crafts spawn much more frequently than the "augment x", "remove x, add x", and "remove x" crafts, so you can quite easily do this while casually mapping. and since these crafts are readily available, it doesn't matter if you have to restart; your next roll is never more than a few maps away.

if you have a bunch of currency, or already have the proper crafts, then go ahead and use one of the other guides. those will work. but if you want to have a guaranteed way to crafting your explode chest within a reasonable time while you map, then use this guide. it's cheaper and faster in that scenario.

    Help with my Incinerate build

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 08:42 AM PDT

So I recently came back to PoE after not playing it for 2-3 years.

When I played PoE it was quite different, but I never really got around to mapping. Whenever one of my characters finished the campaign I would do 10-12 maps then make a new character.

This time I decided that I would delve into maps an attempt to do the major bosses in maps. And now I started noticing that my character is falling behind (particularly my single target).

Could you help me under stand why my character is failing and what can I do to improve it?

    Build link: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/gilstein_/characters?characterName=LetsFailtAtBuilds

My gloves need to be upgraded and so does my jewellery but other than that I can't see what I should change.

PS: I made this build so that is likelly part of the issue.

    Any help is appreciated.
