    Help with Enki's arc witch

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 04:21 AM PST

Hi everyone, I am new to this game and I am following the popular arc witch build. I'm currently in act 4 at the moment but my problem is more general. Should I farm 3-4 sockets gear for the combo of:

    • Cast when Damage taken (Lv1)
    • Tempest Shield (Lv1)
    • Wave of Conviction (Lv1)

before tackling the final quest in this act or should I just do the quest progress to the next act?

If I do need to farm gear, can someone please tell me where to farm? The guide tells me where to farm exp but not gear.

    HoT Primordial Bomber

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 04:14 PM PST

As I approach the end of the league, I would like to share my most recent creation: the HoT Primordial Bomber.

This turned out to be a very enjoyable build, very fast mapping and very tanky. And for those who used to play a Thunder Sorc in D2 and liked teleporting into packs of cows, this one is for you!

PoB: https://pastebin.com/MLecZTYt (note this is pretty much my finished build). *Edit, note you need to balance resist for Wise Oak.

    POE Ninja Link: https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds/char/TheRealWildborn/Vasilisa_Doomsayer?i=1&search=class%3DElementalist%26skill%3DHerald-of-Thunder

    Videos:

    Drox Map and Kill: https://youtu.be/_ecszm4YFQ0

Tunnels XP farming (lvl 83 contract): https://youtu.be/JQhQPI1FXvg

    Background:

I started out this season as a standard Carrion Golemancer. I chose the build because, I usually play a golemancer once every couple seasons and it had been a while. The new change to not having to resummon golems solidified my decision. I had no idea it was going to so Meta. Regardless, I built out a full life version elementalist and cleared my atlas. It was easy and I was bored. So I quit playing POE for a couple of weeks.

I ultimately came back after a few rounds of the Heist fixes and tried the league again. Heist was better but Carrion Golems were still pretty boring. Also it really annoys me that the build struggles to break legion minions. So, I decided to see if I can repurpose the toon to something that was a faster mapper but tanky enough to do rippy heists.

In reading the HoT Bomber guide threads, the common theme is the build is too squishy and it takes quite a bit of investment to get to the point of sustaining two rings. The two biggest weaknesses I saw were lack of health regen and physical reduction. This is where primordial bond excels.

With 5 Primordial bonds (200% Golem buff increase) + Golem Commander (30%) + Liege of the Primordial (150% , 6 golems at 25%) Elemancer ( 150% , 6 golems at 25%) + primordial Eminence (90% 3 jewels) = a total of 620% multiplier for golems buffs. This does some cool things with Stone, Chaos, Lighting and Fire golems generating the following in my current build:

    • Stone: 1,000 life regen (never got to upgrading to anomalous 21/0 is better than 20/20 anomalous)
    • Chaos 37% physical reduction (anomalous gem adds 20%)
    • Lighting: 64% cast Speed (anomalous gem adds 20%) Note this buff is higher than a faster cast support gem which gives 40% and effectively adds a link to lighting warp and shock nova
    • Flame: 134% increased damage (anomalous gem adds 20%)

This was pretty good start but I still died several times in heist and maps. I originally started with an inpusla which is the standard recommendation in other HoT guides. The shock effectiveness and explosions are nice, but it has no armor and low ES. I found that anything below 2,500 energy shield is hard to sustain through ES leech. I switched to a 5 link sporeguard and realized a few important things: 1) I cleared just as fast; 2) fungal ground is instant on lighting warp. This meant I could warp into packs and they would explode and before they died they were subject to the fungal ground debuff reducing their damage. The added chaos resists were also very appreciated.

At this point, I was able to run heists and maps without too much trouble but I then started looking "on hit" modifier and how that can be used in this build. Most HoT builds are running anomalous ice armor this league as it freezes enemies when you take damage which is most excellent. Using that concept, I swapped my anoint to Inexeroble which has a 15% chance to generate endurance charges on "hit." With 8 hits/sec from HoT, this means constant uptime with endurance charges. Adding in Immortal call, that means the immortal call buff is proccing immediately after its cooldown. This give insane amount of physical reduction and with anomalous version, additional elemental reduction. This worked so well, that I have spec into an additional endurance charge.

Taking this a step further, I thought about how I could get fortify for the additional 20% damage reduction. I discovered hardened scars which gives fortify during life flask effect which also works with hybrid flasks. This build was already a bit mana thirsty with lighting warp, so I worked in a hybrid flask, giving perma fortify uptime while mapping. The end result is (as set in the PoB above), with a 10,000 physical hit I am at 59% damage reduction and an effective hit pool of 95k and have no issues sustaining the lighting damage and ES.

There is of course still some room for improvement such as better amulet, wand and shield, but without harvest, I just don't think it is worth the effort. At this point, I am pretty satisfied with the build and happily will sent her to standard to sit in all her glory.

Thanks for the read and stay sane exiles.

    Item Suggestions:

Note this is not intended to be a guide, but rather a reference for personal exploration. Feel free to hit me up if you have questions.

    Required Items:

My view is you really need these items to start.

    • Calamitous Visions
    • 2x Storm Secret Ring
    • Anima Stone
    • 3x primordial Eminence (necessary to get the additional Golem from Anima stone)
    • Algor Mortis

    Cluster Jewels:

You can build these out over time, but the more primordial bonds you get the tankier and more damage you do.

Megalomaniac x 3: You need at least primordial bond on these and then try to get two more useful passives. It is relatively easy to get two useful passives, but finding nice ones with three is rare.

Need one large with a min of Supercharge. I also like overshock and Stormdrinker

One Large with Primordial Bond and Renewal (one renewal is enough to keep your golems alive)

One Medium with Heraldry for lighting exposure, and then socket you calamitous visons in it.

    Other Items

Chest: Sporeguard ---> Inpulsa. I believe Sporeguard is way better, with the extra anoint and ES. Also as discussed above Lightning Warp causes fungal ground on landing, so you get the Pops, damage and defense.

Gloves: Algor Mortis. a +1 all gems corruption really ups the golem tankiness

Head: Crown of the Inward Eye or Rare with res/dex/ES. Note enchant you need 20% or 30% HoT reduction if you want to run aspect of the spider. If no spider, then you can use 40% HoT Damage

    Belt: Stygian Rare with life/res/dex

Amulet: +1 Lighting Skill with res/dex

    Boots: Rare with res/dex/movement speed

Weapon: Angerod South is solid for low budget, gut a combination of +1 lightning skill one hand weapon/shield with double damage crafts give more stats and damage. I focused on lighting damage and making sure there was an empty suffix for the craft.

    Timeless jewel: Glorious Vanity Doranyi

Help with a semi expensive build

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 04:36 AM PST

Hi poebuilds! Im pretty new to both reddit and poe (played for 2 leagues now) And this is the first league I've gotten a bit of currency, around 90ex atm. Ive always only been looking at budget builds so i have no idea what people go for when they have a bit of currency. So what are some fun builds i can do that requires a bit of currency? I was looking at some MOM builds, like this one https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2958218 . Or something like a Power Siphon. I'm not the best at crafting so a build where self-crafting the gear isn't required would be best. I'm open to any suggestions pretty much:)

Looking for a boss killer build

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 12:33 AM PST

    Hi guys,

I currently have 3 main builds to play (they are FB Raider, Carrion Elementalist, TR PF). Mostly I use them for map clears and Delving, with Carrion as my currently boss killer. But since I feel the trouble of keeping the minions alive to push the Carrion damage and tweaking around to get more survivability and dps being balanced, they are out of my reach at the moment.

So I have been thinking I can make a 4th one that focus mainly on boss. I saw a lot of Earthquake builds on youtube, and wondering if that build can go from budget friendly to higher later on after tweaking around bit by bit?

I would love to receive some suggestion for this. Thank you so much.

    Need help improving RF Chieftain

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 03:44 AM PST

I got bored of my Fire BV Chieftain and sold all of his gear, except for the explodey chest, and decided to craft my own with the currency and try RF. I'm not really sure where to from here, I'm trying to Essence craft a Elder helmet to get the 30% increased elemental damage. Anything from pathing optimizations to gear improvement advice is welcome :)

Some questions I have: Why does Witchfire Brew decrease my DPS? Why does Elemental Overload increase my DPS, I don't crit?

Dropped my first shavs ever in SSF and I'm not sure what to do with it.

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 01:04 AM PST

Looking at a lot of builds on poe.ninja that use shavs, they also are using Nebulus, which I definitely don't have. I do have a prism guardian though, which seems to be commonly used as well.

What would be the easiest way to use this item with a templar? I'd like to use templar as I already have one levelled and don't feel like relevelling something else.

Not necessarily looking for a full on build guide, but just need an idea of where to start with very basic items. (I do have a replica alphas howl, which grants +4 levels of socketed herald gems. Maybe that can prove useful?)

Thanks in advance for any advice or tips

Question about Chains of Command builds

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 12:25 AM PST

I was just looking up people using chains of command on poe.ninja, and everyone was running with anger aura. Isn't cold conversion a lot better for scaling? Why would everyone use anger? They only thing i can think of if they all use Oro's?

new player confused - necro build

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 05:15 PM PST

Complete noob here so please go easy.

I recently re-specced from creeping frost occult to a skeletons necro build I found on youtube (build in question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGyj66irMjU&t=1353s&ab_channel=NavandisGaming).

After getting the best gear I could with by budget and some basic gem setup, I went into a T1 map and literally do next to no damage. I'm really confused as I copied his skill tree and it feels like I should at least be able to clear this content? What have I done wrong?

Seeking help with the defensive layers on an Elementalist Golemancer

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 01:30 PM PST

I've been playing an Elementalist Golemancer this league, which has helped me get my first Elder, Shaper and Awakener kills, as well as being able to solo high tier blighted maps with relative ease. The DPS part of the build is amazing, and I enjoy the playstyle.

The problem is, that I die rather often, even with my defenses up and running. Both in high tier maps and Heists, my character often just gets one-shot by random things. Death toll so far is 38, with some coming from lack of knowledge of the boss fights.

The life pool is low (5k at lvl 95), but the build is immune to ailments, phase run is up 100% of the time, as should my flasks be. I'm currently working on a second chest that has physical reflect immunity, which should be a nice backup for those maps. The last 5 points towards lvl 100 would be placed in the life-"wheel" around Constitution.

    PoB: https://pastebin.com/CwBCTxYV

Any ideas, which layers of defense I could add, that would help with my survivability? Or gear / gems that could improve upon the defense? I know that my helmet enchant is not suitable for the build, but getting the right one is not easy :)

    Thank you in advance :)

Need help improving my Venom Gyre build

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 03:18 PM PST

    Greetings!

A week ago I crafted myself a build, and honestly I'm proud of myself for even making a build that can easily wipe Tier 16 Maps, but I have one problem, which is the bosses. I can literally facetank them for 10 years, but the issue is that it takes 10 years. It's important for me to be quite tanky, which I achieved with this build. I think I pretty much copy pasted the claw and gloves from another build, can't remember which one though. I'd be glad if some of you could take a look at it and maybe give some improvements. Probably remove some uniques, but I kinda need the helmet for mana reservation and sustain. Maybe even give me a completely different build if this one is not savable.

    lets make firestorm viable

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 03:17 PM PST

I've got a chieftain i just respecced from a berserker and will be building a "fresh" level 86 or so character. Let's try to build something together as a community project

I'm thinking of building it tanky, and got that part down. What i dont know is how to scale firestorm

    Some ideas

The 3 storm limit makes it feel like unleash is perfect. Maybe run a second spell to compliment it?

Possible to work in EE maybe?

    Spellslinger?

    Archmage?

How about cast while channeling? Flameblast or incinerate? TBH vaal flameblast is pretty fun.

Since the 3 storm limit, i think going EO makes sense and scale the initial hits big somehow. what are your thoughts?

Dual Aura Support for Deep Delve

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 01:43 PM PST

Long Story Short....I have a friend who is breaking 1300 in delve with with a budget zhp LA miner but is struggling. I have a gf who has an aurabot and I have myself who has nothing but a lot of time on their hands. Said friend is asking for dual aura support from us in return for a share of the Fracs. One aura support is enough to push deeper but the more the merrier lol.

Anyway. So I know Dual Immunity Duo's have been mega-nerfed but what would the next best thing be?

Budget is 10EX per person (until we can get deeper, then the sky is the limit...).

Maxblock aura stacker - is this even possible?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 11:05 AM PST

So long story short I've been using a maxblock armour stacking glad to farm all my money this league. I started as Blockman and then a kind soul shared PoB for maxblock armorstacker with insane on-block recovery (my shitty version recovers 4k ES basically). The drawback of that build is that it does fuck all in terms of damage, its very painful to play, at least my budget version of it is, but I'm not sure if its going to magically become much better if I invest into it (https://pastebin.com/s0N48pC1, credit to u/wiljc3)

All this time I've been farming currency for my aura stacker which is supposedly should be better than the bullshit above. But its not - at 90% res, 85% phys mitigation and 2.7k ES its squishy as fuck. And I'm beginning to realize that Aura stackers aren't actually that good. Not traditional ones anyway. Maybe they're much better at 300ex invested, but I doubt I'll farm that much with current setups. This is my current stacker: https://pastebin.com/RF3K4XxX

So my question is - is there a Maxblock Aurastacker with Aegis Aurora or something similar that can basically stand inside of a giant pack of monsters and take all the hits and just survive off on-block recovery?

I'm specifically interested in on-block recovery builds - I want to facetank all the hits and just survive and thrive off that. I know there's insane transcendence build (which mitigates 99.999% or whatever % of damage), but I'm not sure how much the full phys-to-ele conversion would even cost and without phys mitigation its probably going to be pretty squishy, because Heist mobs do a lot of phys damage.
