What do I actually need for an aura stacker?

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 03:56 PM PST

I have an lvl 90 guardian now and so far i have 83% max res about 50% phys reduction. What auras do i actually need for the build to work at all except for purities? What items? I have shavs, chayulas, 4 bad aura clusters, the shield with blood magic, nebulis. I own an alphas howl that i want to farm lab for soon. The rest is more trash and any gem i had with rmr. My biggest problem is that i don't do damage and it's like to know what there is to do and what normal aura staying looks like. The guide i saw want very specific on anything

    Ice Spear Totem Hierophant Question

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 02:49 PM PST

    Hi all.

I have been really interested in ice spear builds recently and I found a POB for an ice spear totem Hiero that looks very interesting and had a lot of cool interactions. When I imported the build the damage seemed absolutely nuts (and I have already scaled it down a bit in config).

I have never played a hiero before so I would like a second opinion to know if this build is legit or not. Can this damage be loosely accurate or is there some POB trick going on that's artificially inflating the stats? I would league start as Purifying Flame or similar but would consider this an end game build goal if it's mostly as decent as suggested.

Very interested in any additional points to consider if you have any feedback.

Is it a good idea to league start as scion?

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 12:52 PM PST

Im practicing for next league start with a scion using stormblast mine and orb of storms and god does it feel awful. its so slow and weak. i transition to spellslinger and it still feels the same. im following a guide that eventually will let me transition to archmage ball-lightning.

Now i heard that scion is bad at leveling especially on league starts. is it more of a second character thing? i feel bad for people league starting with scion..

35 exalt most rich I have ever been! Need some build ideas that will make me do red maps comfortably and bonus if I can do A8 Sirius

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 04:09 AM PST

Hi guys got 35 exalts which is the most rich I have ever been, I tend to to hit a wall with most characters t15, t16! Don't want any minion, totems, mine or traps! Also builds I have already played ED, toxic rain, burning arrow, bleed builds! Ideally I would like at least 2 of the triumvirate of clear speed, tankiness and DPS! Ice shot caught my eye but lack of single target puts me of a bit! Have a Templar, shadow, duelist and could level up a ranger! Please recommend me a build

Summoner build - Minion life stacking

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 02:18 AM PST

I've got a build idea that revolves around two concepts. I need to get myself and my minions lots of life. These are the only two things this build requires for me to sustain and deal damage. So... Beyond "take all life nodes on the tree" what are good ways of stacking lots of minion life? I'll be using zombies for this build, and it'll be plenty weird.

Avoiding Montregul's grasp is preferred, but can be ignored if it's absolutely necessary.

The idea of the build is the combo of Neromantic Aegis and Maligaro's Lens. This means every minion that dies heals me for 1% of it's hp, but ideally, I'll want 2x Heartbound rolling, so I'll take 700. This means that the minion needs to have at least 70k hp or I'll kill myself.

Now, since they're zombies, the only reliable way to kill them is minion instability+Infernal Legion and a few other mechanics to ensure they die. This means that nodes that give regen or resists are generally to be avoided. Hence my hesistance towards Montregul's Grasp.

Simple questions for deciding league starter

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 08:11 PM PST

This all assumes these builds don't change significantly for 3.13 but:

    • How viable is bleed bow gladiator for a late endgame map clearer? And as a bosser?

    • Can anyone recommend a good step-by-step build guide for ball lightning miner? (I used a build that recommends shifting to CI before getting shavs and prism guardian and going LL, but ended up super glassy in the CI stage and it ruined the fun for me)?

    • Is BL miner or GC miner better overall?

Marauder Cyclone CWC VD + Popcorn Skeletons

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 08:04 PM PST

Hi all! This is a fairly unoptimized build, but I've only been playing PoE for about a month.

I cobbled this build together out of uniques/rares from my other chars. I'm really enjoying this build and I think its very newb-friendly but with some optimization can also do endgame content like T16 maps.

Currently I can do ~T10 rare maps which isn't very impressive, but remember I literally cobbled this build together out of gear from my other chars. I haven't spent a single chaos on this build, so I think with your advices I can take it much further.

    PoB: https://pastebin.com/uVnRcY46

    • Chest: Cyclone > CWC > VD > Combustion support > Burning support > Iron Will support
    • Helmet: Vaal Skeletons > Elemental Army > Infernal Legion > Culling Strike support
    • Sceptre: Infernal Cry > Urgent Orders support > Combustion support
    • Shield: Flame Golem > Minion speed. + Arctic Armor
    • Boots: Raise zombie > feeding frenzy > combustion support > culling strike
    • Gloves: SRS > Totem > Infernal legion > Minion life

    ---------------------------

If you open my PoB you'll see some of the gear is kind of important for this build, but some of it can also be replaced. I just haven't figured out yet what to replace some of the gear with, so I'm hoping you all will have some advice :)

The corpsewalker boots are very important for this build, because Cyclone counts as a movement, so I am spawning corpses at the same time I am cyclone :)

For general trash mobs I literally just pop movement speed + onslaught flasks and lawnmower my way through mobs.

For bosses I summon my SRS totem and vaal skeletons, then cyclone around in big circles.

You'll also notice my swap weapon is a 2H Quecholli mace. This is a low-level unique but it has the mod "Enemies killed with attacks/spells explode for 10% of their health". This actually adds a lot of "oomph" to the build as Im exploding corpses, VD balls shooting everywhere, and enemies exploding. But its only good for clearing trash.

    -------------------------

    The problems with this build:

Im still pretty newb, so you will notice this build probably has very low defenses and health.

My main problem is I am not sure how to increase my defenses / life, without sacrificing my DPS.

If you guys can take a look at my PoB and give me some ideas / point me in the right direction for going beyond ~T10 maps, that would be great :)

Impale Rain of Arrows: why is Sniper's Mark so much stronger than Vulnerability on PoB?

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 11:50 PM PST

Here is a pastebin to the build to play with it yourself:

    https://pastebin.com/putq1zy9

With Poacher's Mark enabled I have about 130k dps, with Enfeeble vulnerability enabled I have about 115k.

Poarcher's Mark is effectively more projectile damage, Enfeeble is more Physical damage. From what I know about game stats since the skill is entirely physical damage and entirely projectile damage, I would assume that vulnerability would be stronger. Is assumption incorrect? Why?

need advice: i want to completely respecc my flashback league witch

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 03:48 PM PST

I started playing poe in beta but I took a 3-4 year break after essence/breach. Now with some free time on my hands I began playing again in the sc flashback league. I tried a necromancer spellslinger with volatile dead / detonate dead and leveled to 78. But I have several problems with the build, the clearspeed and survivability is nice but it's laggy, complete eye cancer and pretty bad for party play with my friends.

I have enough regrets to change my ascendancy and most of the tree. I have around 100 chaos to spend on gear. I'm not crazy about minmaxing and being super op. I just want to experience as much as possible of the game content until the league ends.

So my wishes for my new build are:

    1. no overload on the screen, the less the better. I want to see what's going on and how the enemies look like.
    2. i played a lot of mobas and like engaging builds with lots of buttons to press and decision making, so no autobombers or just 1 button spam. i really like unconventional builds as well but both within reason. I want to feel like I'm playing a really powerful build and not like i'm gimping myself.
    3. i'm open to any ascendancy or gems. only requirement - it has to be witch.

I looked at Kay's spectre builds, I enjoyed playing spectre and animate weapon before my break (but my new build absolutely doesn't need to be minion based so don't factor this into your suggestion). The spider build really hurts my eyes and seems like an autobomber but the Snow Rhex spectres do look really awesome. Are they viable on their own? I also looked at a lot of builds on poe.ninja but I'm not any wiser. So I'm really happy about any suggestion.

edit: so I can't change my ascendancy in the race but everything else still stands. It just has to be a necromancer

Self-curse inspired learning build that can also do sirus

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 09:35 AM PST

I thoroughly enjoyed playing a self-curse occultist with 3 inspired learning jewels in heist, but want to avoid having to swap characters to a bossing build. Is there a way to configure a self-curse build so that it can complete A8 Sirus and guardians?

I am probably being greedy here, but was hoping someone has a good setup. Thanks!
