Slept on league starters? What carried you to T16, killing bosses clearing the atlas?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 04:14 PM PST

    Hey all,

I'm just curious if anyone has some tried and true league starters that can manage all the way to T16. Doing maven bosses and killing map bosses for bonus along the way.

My league start this league was a poison bfbb but I later switched to bv. This felt pretty meta, so was hoping for some more slept on easy to gear league starters for potentially next league.

    Thanks!

Transitioning Enki's Arc Witch into a Boss Killer

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 09:18 AM PST

    OBJECTIVE

Guide to provide a bridge from Enki's Arc Witch starter to a full on 50M+ Sirus DPS boss murdering build.

    OVERVIEW

I used Enki's Arc Witch (link) as a league starter. Loved it and was able to easily cruise into red maps. I started having trouble with the super end game bosses (A8 Sirus, Cortex, Maven, Uber Atziri, The Feared). It may be doable, but the fairly low ceiling on damage makes it hard. I did a lot of POE ninja exploring and some experimenting on my own to see how far I could push Arc, keeping the character and much of the gear from Enki's Arc Witch. This is the result and allowed to very easily do all game content.

    POB: link

    Character (ArchMonarch): link

    Pros:

    • Massively more damage with 50M+ boss DPS
    • Defenses get better, but not by a ton

    Cons:

    • More expensive. Took me about 15 ex to get to 25M DPS. Current gear is ~80 ex and I have 55M Sirus DPS. Quite a bit of room for further improvement. Numbers may have since drifted.
    • Less fluid play. Greater Spell Echo locks you in place for an instant while it casts which can take some getting used to. Doesn't end up mattering if everything dies instantly.

    EXPLANATION

    Conceptually, what's changing?

    • Ditching Elemental Overload and building for crit (4.5x crit effect mod eventually) is a massive DPS increase
    • Pledge of Hands instead of dual wielding gives you greater spell echo which is effectively another fat more multiplier and more efficient use of mana
    • Ditching Elemental Focus and building at least a little shock gives more damage and also makes space for arcane surge in our arc 6L - giving us another significant more multiplier
    • Righteous Fire is always on for more "more" multiplier. We use Agnostic to live through it and have the vaal righteous fire ready for the big bosses.
    • Take Bastion of Elements (losing Heart of Destruction) for another defensive layer that we need as we are taking a lot less life in both the tree and the gear
    • Adding two curses (Assassins Mark and Ele Weakness) to Conductivity. We get the extra curses from anointing our ammy with Whispers of Doom and a lvl 5 awakened hextouch if you can afford it.
    • Jewels + Flasks changing to accommodate crit, with the rest of the gear largely unchanged from Enki's build

    What is staying the same?

    • Golems (5) and those ascendency nodes
    • Mastermind of Discord for enhanced exposure and mana regen
    • Arcane Cloak and MOM for defense
    • Sigil of Power for damage
    • Flame Dash setup is fine as-is
    • Wave of Conviction stays though it's manual cast

    Gameplay

    • Bind Arcane Cloak to left click so it casts on cooldown
    • Toggle on all 5 Golems, Wrath, and Righteous Fire ahead of time
    • Flask piano, Arc, Flame Dash, and repeat for killing mobs
    • Drop Sigil of Power, Vaal Righteous Fire, and Wave of Conviction for bursting bosses (18M DPS without these 3 which is plenty for mobs, 55M with them for bosses)

    GEAR

    General

    • Uniques: Cloak of Defiance, Crown of the Inward Eye, Atziri's Foible, and Essence Worm are all fine to keep from Enki's build
    • On remaining items, get mana everywhere you can. Mana regen is secondary but still important.
    • New glove base with 30% reduced mana but 30% chance to refund is really nice
    • Assassin's Mark on ring
    • Mana recovery rate on belt
    • Culling strike on gloves (or in gems if you must)
    • Other than these noted, you can fill your rares with damage / resist mods, use my POB for ideas

    Jewels

    • Clear Mind is great as we only have wrath left
    • Pure Talent if you need stats
    • Anima Stone for your final golem
    • Watcher's Eye - 2 wrath stats if you can afford it
    • Large Cluster needs Scintillating Idea - lots of other decent options beyond that
    • Medium Clusters for crit
    • As much crit multi as you can stack on the remaining rare jewel slots
    • No small clusters, we prefer to use those slots for rare crit multi jewels

    Flasks

    • Bottled Faith, Cinderswallow, and a diamond flask really juice your crit
    • Replica Lavianga's is a nice mana flask though a normal one will do in a pinch

    Welcoming questions, critiques, feedback, thoughts.

BL vs Arc and Hiero Vs Ascendant For a second build.

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 12:13 AM PST

Started on a TR PF, got to T16s, Pretty nice, but i learnt that i hate Evade based builds. i hate getting 1shot. and my arm hates spamming all 5 flasks.

So, I got myself around 40ex tops to start a new character with a goal in mind to clear all content, Especially all the bosses since ive never done this.

I witnessed a guildie running a BL Hiero build make quick work of a 2 man hp Oshabi. making me want to try something of that kind. upon more research i saw that BL Hiero isnt exactly popular, which led me here asking which one would be right for me?

Id love the ability to still clear well, but i would gladly give it up to be able to fight bosses, and to be able to clear slowly, but comfortably all sorts of high tier maps.
hoping it would be the final build of the league for me, and i could level it above 94 since ive never done it before.

Thanks alot for all and any help!

How do I craft a cooldown recovery belt?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 04:40 PM PST

So I have an ilvl 86 shaper Stygian vise and I want to make a decent (not some god tier) cooldown recovery belt with it but I have never really crafted something myself.

What is the general process to doing this? Do I just continually alt/regal until I get three mods I like? Then try to harvest craft? Or do I just harvest craft off the bat like alch slam?

Just totally new to crafting something when your aiming for a specific thing.

    Thanks for input!

Edit: I need 14% cdr for CoC breakpoint.

This is some kind of "I like to play like this" build.

I would like to know is there any way to build a character, which can do Crazy tons of blade fall, as many as the game mechanics provide, maximize the amount of blade fall rain and cover as much as possible area, and still can do juiced map boss and AL9 conqueror, not requesting any other boss. Designed for map clearing.

My DPS is about 15m but it feels like it's much lower than some other PF builds. Maybe I'm just crazy. I've never played Indigon PF so I may be playing it wrong (or I built my character wrong). Can anyone help me figure it out?

My playstyle is basically just hitting 10 blades, use RF, then zoom through the map, keeping my flasks up 100% of the time. When I hit the boss, I hold my BV button and keep spamming flasks and use Divergent Berserk as soon as I can. I'm unsure if this is right but I feel like people are doing much more damage than me.

    Generic Spell totem build

    Hi guys,

I'm looking to make a build for spell totems without locking myself down to a specific spell. I'm currently using winter orbs and am thoroughly enjoying it. I rolled Scion, which may have been my first mistake, but I'm just gonna roll with it for now. Also, using staves cause it was a cheap decent 6L and the skill points on the templar side are pretty decent. Currently 'only' lv80 though so what do I know.

I've come up with the below skilltree so far but I'm just not sure on a few points:

    • Is it worth branching out from Scion to get all the jewel sockets?
    • Should I be going for extra ES?
    • If I stretch the build I could get a lot of crit stuff on the Shadow side, but 30% crit feels like enough, everything is pretty much frozen until death.
    • I'm using arcane cloak with arcane surge support, which is why I'm going into max mana as well. Right?
    • Is there anything in the below build you would leave out?

Build help regarding a Trigger Scepter skill

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 08:31 PM PST

Here the basics and the question will come at the end.

*The build is designed by the build creator to minimize having to use skills

    *Righteous Fire Build

*Golem Buff focused, based on Elementalist

*Uses Explody chest with Magmatic Strikes to improve explosions since build does not scale Physical

*Here are the various skill links

RF - Inspiration - Elemental Focus - Efficacy - Burning Damage - Conc Effect

Sum Stone Golem - Sum Chaos Golem - Sum Flame Golem - Culling Strike

CWDT - Purifying Flame - Wave of Convict - Combustion

Cyclone - Fortify - Inspiration - Infused Channeling

Purity of Fire - Sum Skitterbots - Vitality

And the last group contains my question. I have a trigger spell Scepter. In this scepter I can have 3 spells cast automatically when I use a skill. These are

    Ball Lightning - Flammability - ?

BL is for Elemental Equilibrium. What else can I socket here to help my build that won't effect EE? Offense or defense, I don't care. When I look at the list of active skill gems, nothing jumps out at me.

[3.13] 29 Charges Masterful Form Replica Farrul Ele Hit

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 11:16 AM PST

    https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3060927

    Overview

This build utilizes the synergy between Slayer Ascendancy Masterful Form (Your Maximum Endurance Charges is equal to your Maximum Frenzy Charges) and Replica Farrul's Fur.

The maximum Frenzy charge in 3.13 Ritual league is 13 = 3 base + 3 tree + 1 asc + 1 Darkray Vectors + 1 Warlord's gloves + 1 Two-handed weapon of Shaping or synthesized shield implicit + 2 synthesized ring implicit + 1 gloves corruption implicit. I would take a minimum of 10 Frenzy charges to be considered following this build. My current gear grants me 12 Frenzy/Endurance charges and 5 Inspiration charges for a total of 29 charges.

I choose Elemental Hit as the main skill to take advantage of a bow, and a little fortuitous synergy with Endurance Charge on Melee Stun Support. To match the cost of Replica Farrul's Fur at 50ex, the other slots cost more or less that much, and the total is somewhere around a mirror (currently at 430ex), not accounting for the bow. So with a smaller budget, you are welcome to read on for the meme or turn to any other generic Ele Hit build.

    POB

    https://pastebin.com/HdCmJVhB

    Bandits: Alira

    Pantheon: Lunaris Garukan

The effective Shaper dps with single target setup in bow stands at 67 million.

    Passives

    Other Ascendancy Passives

    Headsman - Bane of Legends

20% more damage against bosses, on top of 25% more against all high health target (100%/80%), the single best boss killer ascendancy in terms of number.

    Overwhelm

The ideal bow has no place for a crit suffix and this is 60% local crit chance for a thicket bow and some hard to get floating multi.

The build doesn't stack enough health for leech path to be meaningful. If you have a high crit bow anyway, you may pick Brutal Fervour with Damage on Full Life Support.

    Notable Notables

    https://i.imgur.com/8o9FYei.png?2

For succinct descriptions, assuming 10 Frenzy charges henceforth. The 3 points at the end of the charge wheel give massive 160% damage and 20% attack speed, but since leading small nodes have little effect it's still point inefficient to path all the way. I choose a Thread of Hope over the Timeless jewel potential.

    https://i.imgur.com/pksjHoh.png?1

With 20% attack dodge from boots and 40%/30% dodge from (Phase) Acrobatics, Wind Dancer mitigates the occasional big hits and works for degen as well, with negligible downside on evasion. The accompanying nodes are also great for filling accuracy and some chance to avoid ele ailments.

    https://i.imgur.com/EgQQRHi.png?1

Ele Hit builds are usually socket hungry because of the two mandatory Combat Focus jewels. The slayer and shadow sockets are the only places for Crimson Combat Focus, one of which has been taken. A large cluster provides two sockets at the end for a Watcher's Eye and a base jewel, so the traditional Lioneye's Fall is given up because of point inefficiency even with the dagger wheel accounted for.

    https://i.imgur.com/4Vx8ggZ.png?1

Finally the pathing to Assassination is pretty long but offers the whole multi/life/attr/Timeless Keystone package, so I opt in instead of a second cluster. With Legion contents so accessible this league, the cost is very low to find a good Doryani Glorious Vanity that turns the pathing dex into useful multi/life/dmg/chaos resist nodes.

    Gear&Gems

    Chest

Elemental Hit - Mirage Archer Support - Awakened Chain Support - Awakened Elemental Damage with Attack Support - Anomalous/Divergent Inspiration Support - Combustion Support

Core item of the build, simply makes any other Ascendancy an easier Jugg, and with slayer's Masterful Form, super efficient synergy. Normally 10 Endurance charges function with default effects, adding 40% phys reduction and 40% to all ele resist. Interestingly, I found and tested that Endurance Charge on Melee Stun Support, despite stating "supports melee attack skills", does support and provide more damage to Ele Hit, which has both melee and bow tags. It provides 40% more dmg without other condition (chilled for hypo or full life) at all levels, and has a small mana multiplier of 110%. If your quiver has chain corruption it can swap out chain for clearing setup for very low mana cost.

    Bow

Elemental Hit - Barrage Support - Elemental Focus Support - Awakened Elemental Damage with Attack Support - Anomalous/Divergent Inspiration Support - (Endurance Charge on Melee Stun Support / Hypothermia Support / Damage on Full Life Support)

For the maximum charge meme, the suffixes of the bow are locked in as +1 max Frenzy, Bow attacks fire 2 additional arrows, and attack speed. The prefixes for my current gear give high to low dps in the order: 20% more attack dmg, +2 socketed bow gems, T1 flat fire dmg. +1 level has smaller impact as it only adds 1% to two awakened supports. Penetration has diminishing return with all the other sources of resist lowering/pen.

Since Ele Hit gem provides most of the base dmg, the weapon matters much less than most other builds. A one mod 19% speed magic thicket bow only does 20% less dmg for the skill in chest. A sick bow is by no means necessary for the build to function.

    4links

    Aura

(Divergent lol) Anger - Divergent Summon Skitterbots - (Anomalous lol/Divergent) Precision (-Enlighten Support)

Anger gives unimpressive flat added dmg compared to Ele Hit gem's own and more importantly activates Watcher's Eye mods for that 50% mana reservation.

Summon Skitterbots on the other hand provide chill and shock to Ele Hit gem's 20% more dmg line, on top of guaranteed shock effect. Divergent version gives a little bit more dmg depending on the shock effect % tick.

Precision is needed to cap accuracy and/or activates Watcher's Eye mods. If you have accuracy on gear or helmet reservation enchantment, Precision/Enlighten can be dropped.

    Utility

(Anomalous/Divergent) Dash - Anomalous Second Wind Support

Steelskin - (Divergent) Cast when Damage Taken Support

(lv7) Wave of Conviction - (lv1) Cast when Damage Taken Support / Increased Duration Support

    Sniper's Mark

Some builds use Asenath's Chant to trigger but with 10 Frenzy charges' 40% cast speed, it's just fine to hand cast especially the Mark curse

Aspect of the Cat - Less Duration Support

Cat has a 12s period with Farrul but unfortunately both Frenzy and Endurance charge durations are half a second short. They can be filled out with one jewel implicit each or unlinked less duration support for quality of life without hearing that annoying charge gain/loss tatatata sound effect.

    Amulet

Standardized Ele Hit amulet since the start, with one mod Avatar of Fire it gives 50% more dmg, in addition to pen/str/life/ash. The highest dmg anointment is Lava Lash, but I choose ES leech for a little bit more recovery with Doryani/Headhunter and Large Cluster jewel notable uptime

    Boots

The cheapest slot. It's a tradeoff between +1 max Frenzy 50% movement speed 20% all time attack dodge, and Tailwind Elusive life and more resist.

    Gloves

Warlord's +1 max Frenzy charge and Elevated Hunter's (100% chance) intimidate on hit are the two key mods. I'm going for the final max Frenzy charge with double corruption, still yet to have any pair not bricked.

    Rings

I bought rare frenzy rings at 50ex. Poorly crafted lv81+ seem to be at 80ex at this point. Deafening Scorn with Elemental Damage with Attack would be the ultimate dmg outcome, but I settle with life and some resist.

    Quiver

Standardized ele attack hit skill quiver with 5 and a half useful mods

    Belt

Same old hh all day every day

For bossing if you can fill your resist/str, the new Maven belt change Endurance charges to Brutal charges which gives 3% chance to deal triple damage (overriding chance for double damage). At 10 charges it's 60% more dmg, but I feel it's highly unnecessary for A9 Sirus, Maven or the Feared. It's something to use to hit 100m glass cannon benchmark.

    Helmet

Last slot in the build, I just use the helmet to fill Int and resist. The Blizzard Crown implicit gives just about 1% dmg but why not.

The ideal helmet to go for is Warlord's Damage Penetrates (2–3)% of Enemy Elemental Resistances, Nearby Enemies have -12% to Fire Resistance of the Elevated Conquest, +(21–24)% to Global Critical Strike Multiplier of the Elevated Conquest, Nearby Enemies take 9% increased Elemental Damage of Elevated Shaping.

    Jewels

Standardized attack/bow large cluster with FFFF (Feed the Fury, Fuel the Fight) and Martial Prowess.

Standardized crit medium cluster with Pressure Point and Quick Getaway.

I choose a flask duration medium cluster for the other slot because it's one of two medium cluster with life notable, and Spiked Concoction gives good utility as well as dmg, although pob does not auto check Alchemist's Genius (increases Flask Charges gained and effect of Flasks by 20%, for 4 seconds, when you use a flask).

The highest dmg mods from Watcher's Eye are in the order of: Anger 50% multi > Anger 15% fire pen > Precision 30% multi ~ Anger/Precision 60% dmg > Precision 15% attack speed.

(All items cannot be linked so you have to go to official site to check them out)

After receiving some pms from people browsing poeninja I decided to put together a "guide" (more like a listing), a couple years after my last. If this receive some attention as well, I may pick up the deleted YouTube and screencapture some bossing/mapping vids. Feel free to leave your remarks and/or questions in the comment below. Best way to lvl a max block glad bleed EQ?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 04:31 PM PST

    Two hander? Dual wielder?

    Frostblades/bladestorm or groundslam/earthsatter?

Can you lvl as bleed or do you want to lvl as impale and switch later? (i know lacerate wanted impale but is it the same for eq?)

I'm playing ssfhc and kind of new to it, so taking arena challenger first is a concern too. (Same goes for lvling as something other than bleed due to being ssf.)

I've researched some to come up with the questions above but got no clear answer, mostly due to lack of experience due to being a caster main, so I came here. Any answers to my questions would be really appreciated.

How do I take any 500k dps build and turn it into a x million dps powerhouse of a build?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 11:29 AM PST

I say this because I swear every build I make ends up around here, whether it's dot or hit, chaos or Phys, etc. I have a really good grasp on defensive layers but when it comes to turning a build into a powerhouse I have no clue where to even begin.

A lot of my time in PoE has been trying to understand and get better at the game and actively challenge myself thru progression milestones. I had a really huge milestone for me yesterday...deathless Uber Elder and finally beating Uber Atziri in SSFSC. I can keep farming for these fights and practicing them, but my mind is on expanding my knowledge, not practicing end game bosses.

I feel like I have a solid understanding of how to build a defensive character. I have no understanding of how to build a glass cannon (emphasis on cannon). I think if I learn that, then I can build a truly balanced character and maybe get more experience with what is to be budget build and what is to be a 100ex////mirror tier build. The end goal is that I can basically be like Mathil and not have my creativity gated behind poor defenses / damage. I want to pick a fun skill or item with an ascendency That makes sense and go big. But I always go 200-500k

So unironically I think going back to SC trade will be really beneficial for me. I want to learn how to build something to do absurd damage, like I can for building something with defensive layers. And then I'd take that knowledge and run with it in SSFSC next league. This way I can league start something safe and know what it takes to build a powerhouse, or turn that league starter into a powerhouse

Build for Heist. Asking for advice.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 05:29 PM PST

Hi! I'm looking for a build to run high-level Contracts and Blueprints. I've had bad experiences dying in Heist and it's the worst when you die with the loot. I'm looking for a build that can't die in Heist, and doesn't require a lot of button-pressing/attention to play, and also good movement speed. Even better if it's either a Witch or a Templar (I have already leveled chars of said classes) but I woulnd't have problem in leveling a new one if needed.

I thought in Winter Orb (but I'm not sure if I should need to cast too frequently) or some ranged skill like Power Siphon or Kinetic Blast (maybe INT stacker?). Thanks in advance for any input!
