Posted: 04 Apr 2021 04:02 AM PDT For example, their proximity shield makes them take less damage from outside sources and the aoe is pretty big. Their "allies cannot die" mod just makes allies take like 80-90% less damage. Their crafting system is something you can do while levelling and allows you to get pretty easily usable items, surely we can have a new system intended for "simple" items. I also wouldn't mind having an extra element being added into the game to dilute the mod pool, thus having less mods focused on damage, which actually be an interesting addition to PoE 2 imo which would raise power creep with 6 links on everything. edit: they also have an auto pick up of crafting items once you click on 1, and they have an INGAME filter that you can modify at ANY time or copy someone elses' and then modify it. Is the Explosion Chest too central to PoE's current map endgame? Posted: 03 Apr 2021 02:40 PM PDT I've heard many PoE influencers push the concept that the explosion chest being a "make it or break it" type of mechanic in the current state of PoE. A large part of Harvest is that it allows you to get this mod on chests easier. If something is so strong that all end game builds think it's desirable, then why is it allowed to continue existing in its current state? The only other thing I can think of that keeps this kind of state in the game is Headhunter. Are we at the point where the majority of endgame builds are actually Explosion Chest builds? [casual] I miss small pre league item teasers Posted: 03 Apr 2021 11:24 PM PDT I really appreciate that GGG is trying out all possibilities and that they found this league announcement format to be better for their staffs health and such. Even a lot of players prefer this big announcement style. I just really loved going into the sub, hoping to see a new unique that I could build around or a new skill that could change an existing one entirely. I'm looking forward to the league, but it's not the same kind of engagement on my part with the new system and I'm not drawn to the launch in the same way as I did before. Looking forward to the 8th though, at least ggg didn't part entirely with teasers, now they're just all at once. [link] [comments]
Ways to buff Strike Skills in the future? Posted: 04 Apr 2021 02:29 AM PDT As many of you know, many Strike Skills have been overshadowed/ignored/nerfed to oblivion for a lot of time and it is about time we see a way to specifically buff these up. Notorious nerfs: - Molten strike - Dual strike threshold Jewel - Removing the ability to use Statsticks One of my suggestions would be adding support gems to add some more identity to them in forms of spicing up their gameplay. Examples like this would be: Flicker support: - Supports a Strike Skill to teleport and attack a nearby enemy. - Internal cooldown of 4 seconds, but can be bypassed by using up 2 frenzy charges. - Quality at 20%: 20% chance to gain a frenzy charge on hit. You'd be allowed to use the skill as normal once you are out of frenzy charges, so this support works greatly to up the clearspeed. Mirage Warrior support: - Supports a Strike Skill to make a copy of yourself at a maximum of 2, each one dealing 20% damage off the original hit. (See The Saviour but just taking the utility). - Doesn't stack with similar effects (Saviour Unique, Vaal Double Strike). Another suggestion as to solve some issues with clearing and the constant gemswapping, would be the addition of keystones that would benefit Strike skills: Splash keystone: - Your Attacks splash the surrounding targets for 50% of their Damage Dealt. - Cannot affect Area of Effect Attacks. - 15-20% Less Damage with hits for Strike Attacks, 40-60% Less Damage With hits for Projectile Attacks. Adding this keystone would allow for some other cool interactions to possibly pop up while also freeing some space in the gem slot. As to bring back Statsticking for Strike Skills: Dominant Hand: - Disables Dual Wielding Bonuses. - Your Melee Attacks use only your Main-hand for the purposes of Attacking and allowing the skill usage. - Only the Stats from a Unique Weapon in your offhand can be counted towards your character. This brings back stuff like Brightbeak, Prismatic Eclipse, Death's Hand and so many other unique statsticks back into having some relevance. Reworking the Molten Strike threshold Jewel: - 10-15% increased fire damage - +1 to chain - -1 Projectile per 2 Chains - Your Molten Strike Projectiles now benefit from chain, making them bounce again in the same place they land with 30-70% Less Damage. This would bring some flavour back to the skill by giving it something unique similar to magma orb. All in all, the 3.7 Legion Patch melee rework wasn't something that addressed blatant issues like Namelocking or making Strike Skills feel fluid (Moving forward at each Strike for Dynamic purposes), so I hope for a brighter Future in the Melee Deparment of this game. Slam Skills now have their own identity and I say it is time to give some to the true Melee-On-Your-Face Skills some love. Now, what are your thoughts, guys? any ways as to give some love to Strike Skills? Edit: Reformatting [link] [comments]
What's the most unconventional build you've played and how far did you take it? Posted: 04 Apr 2021 08:10 AM PDT I came to PoE from Diablo 3. In D3 I fell in love with the Legacy of Nightmares set and theory crafted a few builds for a few classes with them, well before the recent buff too. When I came to PoE in 3.0 one of the first builds that caught my eye was the old, Whispering Ice build. Which was an intelligence stacking Berserker with Vaal Pact. I was able to push it into red tier maps and almost guardians. Since then I've played a few other wacky builds like a CwC Mjolner Purifying Flame/WoC Chieftain. What are some of the way off meta, kinda oddball builds you've played, how far you pushed them, and would you play them again? [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Apr 2021 07:28 AM PDT Honest question from someone who is new to ARPGs. Once someone completes the main story, why make them complete this story time and time again for each new league? I absolutely love the game but honestly it feels deflating to know I'll have to do this whole thing over again. [link] [comments]
