Help an old man figure out a CoC

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 01:15 PM PDT

Every league I save up until the end-ish and then dive all-in on a build that I haven't done before. This league I'm wanting to do CoC, but I think I'm too smoothbrain to understand half this APS stuff. I'm hoping that you big-brain folks can recommend a CoC build guide that makes some clear recommendations in regards to gear choices to hit these thresholds. Or if there's a good video/tutorial on how to figure this out myself I'm good with that too. Something that could teach someone your dad's age about the CoC?

Edit: I have about 120ish ex but I don't want to just "buy success"--ideally a build that I can start small and ramp up with currency once I understand the upgrade path.

    Thank you!

Need help finding a build similar to BL Hiero but more mobile / less clunky.

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 01:27 AM PDT

Hi everyone. So I recently followed Alkaizer's BL Hiero build. The map clearing was good enough after getting a Brutal Restraint with some Onslaught nodes and getting a lot of cast speed with the help of Unnatural Instinct. The bossing felt okay. I can delete bosses but the semi tankiness of the build is counteracted by the fact that it is very hard to dodge manually since Pledge of Hands gets you stuck in animations. Is there any other build that is at least close to the damage that this build can do but has a smoother gameplay? The league is pretty much over for me since I already got 37/40, completed Atlas, and killed all of the bosses. I just want to try other builds in the 30-50ex budget. Thank you all in advance!

    Edit:
Some builds that I'm not interested in:
    - Burning Arrow (my friend already plays this and I want something different)
    - Toxic Rain / Caustic Arrow (done it and want something new)
    - Any minion, miner, or totem build
    - Two or more button playstyles.

Scion coc cyclone Ball lightning CI 30M dps

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 05:35 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

this is my first build post on Reddit and hope to get some good feedback. This build is inspired by Noesy's cast on crit ball lightning life version on scion (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2986151)

    my youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lx2N5epEjO8&ab_channel=AerisTheAngel

    my Pob: https://pastebin.com/Tj8sJF3L

little bit about myself: I love to play poe pretty chill and some top metabuilds that are button-intensive is not really my way. I play most of the leauge as poe is my only game ever since delirium league. I usually gather currency casually over the first month and a half to then sell everything and start building my cast on crit.

So why do I go for Ball lightning and not for regular coc ice nova? I feel its not tanky enough for my liking and really hate squishy builds. If someone has a tanky coc ice nova that still does great dps I would love to check it out and try it for myself. The sustain of es on block and es on hit combo is so strong.

I'm not using bottled faith, why?

    - Because after careful analysis of my last leagues ( harvest = op, but I do miss its previous state) video it was clear to me that i was off the patch as soon as i popped the flask defnitly in 100% delimaps. So I wanted some build that was not flask dependant for crit. It turned out it was a big struggle to get enough crit for cyclone to crit 100% of the time. It still is taking in account of the concecrated ground from zealotry but combined with the diamond flask i can say im reliably critting 100% of the time.

Why do I use a rare sceptre and not a Mjolner?

Since im not using cold skills, I'm not using hatred so watchers eye with base crit will not be an option without converting lightning to cold. That comes with several restrictions that I prefer not to use. The rare weapon isn't perfect but still verry solid dps and since I allready pumped in over 80 ex trying to make it work I gave up and settled for my current weapon ( in pob ). I probably was extreemly unlucky but it is what it is.

    Why dying sun?

In my opinion dying sun is a must have flask to get some extra aoe which I'm lacking hard and the extra projectiles eventho they don't shotgun they do provide nice clear.

    Why not glancing blows?

I feel this is the reason to go scion... If you go glancing blows you might aswell just go assassin and lose a huge amount of ehp. I'm not going for dps only and try to balance dps/defences as much as I can. Because of the gladiator ascendancy i get 15 block + spell block and also blind.

Why go Occultist?Since I didn't get a body armour with additional curse I went also for Occultist to fit in Assassin's mark since I need that to get my crit up reliably vs elite's and it also gives me stun immunity.

    Why use onslaught?

I rather not use onslaught on boots, but the disadvantage of not using it is that I need to increase my bloodrage to max and drop a jewelsocket in the center of the tree to get more dex/accuracy and attack speed. I also need to reswap some jewels to fix my resists then since I wanna be capped on resistances without endurance charges. I need one more level to get that swap. I got some boots ready to go without onslaught so maybe ill try it out one of the next days/weeks and make that also consistantly since I noticed that onslaught uptime isnt reliable so it feels to me as pob-warrioring and i really don't wanna belong to that category. :)

I really hope you guys will give me any constructive feedback so I can make the build even better. I am allways open to improve and maybe you guys discover some flaws that could make me rethink some choices I made.

Thank you for reading and hope to see you next time.

Lvl 92 Cyclone Slayer 2H sword physical - where to improve?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 09:32 PM PDT

    https://pastebin.com/GHR9bFsk

I loved using with Bronn's Lithe with the movespeed and DPS, but I couldn't make up for the lack of +life, resistances, and armor.

I am playing SSF with no intention of leaving it - what equipment/jewels/etc. are most in need of an upgrade?

    Thanks in advance.

If you could only choose one build next league, what's your opinion on my selection?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 07:15 AM PDT

    Hi fellow Exiles!

I will very foreseeable not be able to play that much of PoE next league and have to plan more carefully than this one. As a still newer player, the amount of mechanics and builds slap me straight in the face.

I have put together three builds/guides, that should suit well as league starters and with investment should be able to do all the endgame content(?) (of course we don't know next league mechanics and nerfs yet).

What is your opinion on this, when you can only play one build the whole league, what would you choose (and which is also a good league starter?)

    Ecion's Champion slammer: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3110666

    TbXie's tanky EDC Trickster: https://www.poe-vault.com/guides/essence-drain-contagion-trickster-build-guide

    Wrecker's Necro Zombies: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3080461

Any advice if I'm on the right track with this or still just too stupid is highly appreciated from you guys!

    Thanks in advance!

    Cospris malice ssf need advice

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 10:33 AM PDT

So I never played CoC before and im really confused what ascendancy to pick. Tried building it around a lvl 94 raider and it felt great but didnt try end game content because of gem lvls. Taking a look at poe.ninja there are a lot of options and raider is the least ascendancy played. Any suggestion or info will be really appreciated

Stuck in 80% delirium with CI CoC Nova

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 06:44 AM PDT

Hello all, a month ago I created a post (being a complete newbie to this build) on how I wasn't crit capped on my CoC ice nova assassin. It's being a long and steep journey the past days and I've finally managed to scratch the end game. https://pastebin.com/fubCdqvz this is my character at the moment. sitting on some OK block and at 13m dps with almost 8k ES, stun and ailment immune.

This time I'm stuck at 80% deli maps. They're a walk in the park and I never die. I'm trying to do the most max juiced Valdo's harbingers on 100% deli but it seems like 100% deli is a complete different type of beast as far as difficulty goes, on 100% deli it seems like 13m dps is actually nothing. I never die due to my defenses. As long as there's a logical number of enemies on screen i never drop below 90% ES but on valdo's with 100% deli the dps is so low that nothing ever dies and I end up with 1,5 screen full of rare enemies that all buff each other and I'm getting overwhelmed.

I'd love if some of you experts could take a look at my character and point out basic (or not) mistakes on my pob. My budget for possible upgrades is close to 100ex. Thanks a lot in advance!

PS the guide I'm following all this time is this one https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3056215

Tanky single-main-button boss killer at lvl <95 and 20-40ex budget?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 11:22 AM PDT

    Is that possible?

I've seen some brand builds but they all seem fairly squishy and/or expensive as fuck. If I were to forgo all clear capabilities and general ability to survive maps - could I get something that can almost one-shot bosses at that level and with that budget? Or just generally do bosses very very comfortably (>10-15M DPS and ability to survive most bullshit).

    Ground slam bleed explosion

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 09:21 AM PDT

    Hey everyone!

After a few leagues of making my own builds, I am asking for feedback on the build I made for myself for next league.

    PoB: https://pastebin.com/h7X0uFdH

It's a Duelist Gladiator with the bleed explosion ascendancy, using Groundslam and the Marohi Erqi unique.

I am asking for feedback on how I could potentially improve the build's damage output as for clearing it seems survivable enough to me, but the damage might be a bit low against certain bosses.

I set up the items with relatively easily achievable affixes with very few tier 1s thrown in so I could improve the build there in theory, but I don't play enough to be able to achieve such high power items so I designed the items around that.

    Thanks in advance.

Wondering if anyone could help me with some advice.

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 09:16 AM PDT

Hi! I play on console, and am trying to find a good build that's simple on the buttons, 1 to 2 ideally. Low reliance on flasks as the dpad is awful. And hopefully endgame capable.

I have been powering through the league with a facebreaker cyclone gladiator. Got to awakener 8, but stalled at lvl94 and can't beat sirus. Can't do much anymore without dying. Let alone ultimatum. I just want to complete challenges really...

Recently I did find a 6l cloak of defiance and pledg of hands staff. Also have a 6l terminus est. And some other things.

Any help would be much appreciated. I'm near the end of my wick.

Diving in to the world of "real" builds

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 06:32 AM PDT

As I got a new PC recently this is my first league playing non minions to any level of success. It has been going really nicely. Started with totems because I'm a coward at heart but tried and enjoyed Fire Burst aswell. But now as the league nears it's end I am slowly grinding to any really good endgame char and need help understanding how min-maxing might work. I'm playing a CoC bladefall bladeblast build and would love tips on how to improve my char. What are the crafting options where do I go?
