Path of Exile Questions Thread - June 01, 2021

I would like to thank GGG for their enchant changes in Lab. After playing for two years, I finally got to chose an enchant for my helm that is actually useful for the character I was playing on. It wasn't the best enchant possible, but it was something that was a difference maker. I was playing a Toxic Rain Raider and the enchant was 15% reduced mana reservation on Malevolence! For the first time since I started playing, I am willing to run Uber Lab multiple times on a character. Thanks again for this fantastic QOL update to Lab.

So far, I'm enjoying every second I spend with this masterpiece of a game. And what amazes me the most is the absolutely phenomenal job of the voice actors! I find myself hovering over the character selection menu, listening to the narrator. Better than some AAA titles I've played, and the game is free!

Why are we in 2021 with no colorblind mode?

First time playing since Legion. Decided to try the maven fight. Realize it's color pallet makes it a nightmare. Die during puzzles due to difficulty telling colors. Cries in hide out in colorblindness.

For real tho why is there no color blind mode in this game? The game was already hard enough with out it but the maven fight is so rough when you have color blindness.

Welcome. This is the 5th of Iron Hideout Competition, a friendly event to race with other hideout makers or have some fun during the league. It's made by the community, for the community. No entry costs required, just good ole fashioned fun! Build a hideout based on a specified theme, vote for your favorites and enjoy some nice prizes!

Competition will start on 5th June. Theme of this competition is Forest! This means your hideout can be anything but needs to be in a forest, or be a forest. There is one month of time to complete your hideouts, meaning submissions should be made until 5th July. Then voting will begin, which will take two weeks. Shortly after voting ends, winners will be announced in the forum thread. After winners are announced, prizes will be given, which you can see below.

Categories: Both categories will have seperate submissions, voting, winners and prizes.

■ Non-MTX: No MTX hideout bases or decorations are allowed. Meaning hideout bases and decorations %100 should be obtainable in game without spending any currency in the MTX shop. All decorations should come from favor spending(excluding game specific ones like crafting bench, heist locker, etc.).

■ MTX: All MTX hideout bases and decorations are allowed. Creative usage of MTXes are encouraged. Hideout bases that are not available anymore for purchase(Like Entombed, etc.) are not allowed. Also decorations from Apollyon mystery box are not allowed.

Challenge trophies, old benches from before the master update, rhoa dinners or other exclusive non-MTX decorations cannot be used in both categories. Also hideout bases that cannot be unlocked anymore by normal ways(Like Ritualist, etc.) are not allowed. These are to create equality amongst submitters.

► Competition starts: 5th June, 11:00pm GMT

► Submissions until: 5th July, 11:00pm GMT

► Voting starts: 6th July, 11:00pm GMT

► Voting ends: 20th July, 11:00pm GMT

99 --> 100 Chayula Rota Data

Wanted to share the XP data I gathered during my 100 push. I looked for some before starting (to gauge how many stones I would need), but I found nothing solid. Hopefully this data can help someone in the future.

To track it, I recorded my XP before and after each stone (full data available here). Once I started doing rotas, I did not gain XP through any other means. I don't believe the rota killed Chayula in any stone (there were a few attempts). I certainly never entered the boss room (until I hit 100 and suicided because I forgot to annoint my new amulet 🤦‍♂️).

I ending up doing 14 rotas. I gained just under 1% of a level per stone. From these numbers, a player would need just over 17 rotas to go the full level with or without XP gear (I started around 21.5% of the way there).

Chayula rota data

For the first 3, I wore my normal gear. While looking for my fourth rota, I saw someone post in TFT about XP gear (for a legion 5-way), and I decided to see if I could make that work. I ended up buying 2 Supreme Truths, a Chitus' Apex, and a Perandus Signet (total cost: ~5c).

I also bought a chest to fix my res (~10c; link is what I needed, adjust as necessary), a level 20 vaal grace, and a level 20 vitality, just to be safe. I linked these gems in one of the sceptres (+1 gem level) with an empower 4 for maximum safety. All these precautions were completely unnecessary. I'm fairly confident my health never moved in any of the rotas (I did lose ES at times). The characters hosting these rotas are stronk.

XP Gear I wore

This was my first 100 (and probably my last, it SUCKED). I want to shout out my favorite Twitch streamer tytykiller. I quit PoE after Abyss, and I didn't come back until I saw him compete in the 2020 Method rush races. His guides and stream also helped me a ton, from getting faster in every aspect to understanding that stock-piling currency may feel good (always nice to see exalts/chaos sitting in your currency tab), but it's much better to invest that currency into your build so you can make more!

Time to get back to playing the game, aka looking for that bitch, Trialmaster. He's been talking some shit to me, and it's time for me to put him in his place. Oh, and if you join a rota, please don't dip out if you hit 100 halfway through. That was annoying >.<

PSA: Purchasing the Craicic Chimeral does *not* Unlock Imprint Recipe

In my previous post, there was debate about whether purchasing and adding a Craicic Chimeral will unlocks the corresponding recipe, if the recipe is not already unlocked. There were about +20 upvotes for the person saying it does unlock, and about -20 for the person saying it does not, so the community here seems to think it should unlock.

However, based on my testing, buying and adding the beast does *not* unlock the recipe. I bought one, added it to my bestiary, and did not unlock the recipe. I have one in my bestiary, but there is no check next to it and the recipe does not show in the blood altar dialogue. It looks like this has been reported before for 3.14: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3095569/page/1#p24075605 . I don't know whether the behavior is new for 3.14 or not.

It's possible I'm doing something wrong, so I'm happy to share pictures or try other things. (Look at the pictures in the forum post first, though.)
