    When I started playing (2016, perandus), the game ran terribly so I stopped playing for 1 year and after it ran a lot better and was actually playable. Unfortunately for me, so much has been added in the past 2 years that it's almost as bad as when I started (still playable-ish).

    This whole time I've been playing with minimum settings (very pixilated screen and no fps) and haven't really been able to enjoy the beautiful visual art this game has. I'm currently waiting for PoE to install and then I'll get to re-experience PoE! (And finally play well)

    Edit: old rig: integrated gpu, i5 1 core 2.2ghz, 8gb ram (basically a decent computer and a bad gaming computer). New rig: gtx 1050ti, i7 4 cores 2.8ghz, 16gb ram (msi ge63 raider).

    How big are the currencies in "reallife"?

    I've been trying to six-link this godforsaken Geofri's Sanctuary for over an hour. I've burned through nearly 2400 orbs of fusing.

    Are the chances of six-linking really this terrible? If so, this is a joke. I like the game, but this mechanic is atrocious. The cost isn't even the worst part. It's the right click left click right click left click right click left click right click left click ad nauseam.

    Quality is 20%, and the item level is 78, so this is possible, right? Is there a better way to get the same result? Who designed this shit smh

    I'm a casual player and I got to Awakening Level 8 for the very first time, what to do next?

    this may end up being a long post, sorry for that

    So, I'm a casual player that usually plays for 1/2 leagues before stopping for more than a year, but I decided to get back with Ultimatum. To put things in context, my last league before this one was Metamorph.

    This time I tried to be a little bit more focused, so I started with a league starter that allowed me to feel safe and then I moved to a build that I wanted to try in a long time.

    However, I'm now at a point where I don't know how to move on.

    This is my current situation:

    • 128/164 Atlas completion, with 41/164 Awakening Bonus
    • Awakening Level 8 (but with 11 bought Watchstones)
    • A build where significant upgrades require 30+ EX (I would've liked to try crafting, but it seems that targeted annuls are no more and I don't like gambling all of my currency on a single item)

    If you're still reading, here are some more details.

    Atlas Passives

    Watchstones:

    • 3x - Emblematic Platinum New Vastir Watchstone (0.06% chance for Splinters to drop as Emblems)
    • 1x - Aukuna's Platinum New Vastir Watchstone (45% increased chance to include a Maraketh army)
    • (same configuration for Glennach Cairns)
    • 2x - Harbinger's Platinum Valdo's Rest Watchstone (Areas have a 7% chance to contain an additional Harbinger)
    • 1x - Chayula's Platinum Lex Proxima Watchstone (Breaches in Areas have 36% increased chance to belong to Chayula)

    Build:

    Finally, let's get to the question: given that my main goal is to be able to complete all the endgame fights with this build, and that I have around 10EX in raw currency, what should I do starting from my current situation?

    Psa: flask effect/alchemist prefix works on the stun avoid Catarina craft

    I whiffed the veiled chaos slam trying for spell dodge using my last 2 ex on my new chest, decided stun avoid was more useful than 24% es/23 HP, even though im a raider and rarely get hit, until I can afford to gamble more. I have some misc stun avoid on the tree, so I decided to switch my alchemist/adrenaline to alchemist/stun avoid/move speed.

    I popped the flask to see how much move speed I lost, and I gained 73% stun avoid from the flask alone. Even with no flask effect, alchemist gives 67% avoid, which means a few jewel implicits or say the 20% notable near ranger start means stun immunity while zooming.

    Lost Sirus instance

    Last night, for the first time since I started playing I spawned a Sirus encounter. I was very excited and I spent 20 minutes looking into guides on how to kill him. Finally, I was ready and I try to enter the first portal, and got a message something like: "you have to kill Elderslayers first", and all the portals despawned. My google skills were insufficient in trying to find the cause of this, so here I am asking for help. What happened?

    If you think you are having bad luck with performance roulette this time around, try reinstalling game files.

    Since last update, I was having all kind of performance problems for the first time in my PoE life. Weird pop-ins pertaining to texture streaming, severe stutters, crashing, sound problems, etc, etc.

    I recently upgraded my PC, and tuned it in my tastes so I thought problems are on my side. I cleared cache, did complete removal and reinstallation of drivers, reset configs, underclocked my hardwares (cpu, memory, gpu) , tuned graphics drivers, modified BIOS and drivers, tried everything I could. Problems still persisted.

    I even considered wiping my drives or even switching out parts of my PC.

    Before falling back to my last resorts, I remembered a post mentioning reinstalling game files fixing shit, so I tried that. And.. that solved every problem I was having.

    Now, I'm happy and sad at the same time. My common senses as a computer engineer held my back.. PoE's update process must be broken in some way.

    Try reinstalling the game before trying anything bigger than modifying files. I don't think this would help many people but somehow help some of you at the very least.
