    The Fellshrine Ruins

FYI: Rumi's Concoction has a VERY high chance to drop from the Vaal and Trio bosses in "The Apex of Sacrifice"

    Posted: 04 Jul 2021 04:44 AM PDT

I thought it was common knowledge for SSF players but apparently not. Earlier today a guildmate was complaining about not getting Rumi's in SSF. When I answered that he should simply do some normal Atziri runs he and the rest of the guild were baffled.

I checked the wiki and it isn't mentioned there either. Since I am 100% certain about it because I have farmed Rumi's this way countless times I decided to make a post.

I know it is not the rarest of items but I think it is pretty useful information for SSF players to know that with on average like 10 normal Atziri runs you can almost guarantee a Rumi's drop.

EDIT: Found this thread from 6 years ago shortly after Rumi's was added to the game https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/2aaj4f/psa_rumis_concoction_appears_to_commonly_if_not/

EDIT2: Lighty mentioned this too in a part of his All4One series: https://youtu.be/ov00AZWMuGo?list=PLURQgvsDXXI7DdnOWIhyfNDD5X8Dxq9eA&t=487

3.15 New Skill Balance Feedback & Discussion

    Posted: 04 Jul 2021 01:32 AM PDT

Yo what is up guys Grim here,

With the recent comment from Chris Wilson that 3.15 will be a new skill focused expansion containing "vastly more skill gems" I wanted to open a discussion and share my thoughts on some of the skills recently developed and for me as a player which skills have worked best.

Builds in Path of Exile are the primary focus of the game and every build hangs off of one or two skill gems. To say impactful and interesting skills are important is an understatement.

Over the past few leagues we have seen a stagnation of builds at the top end of the power curve with strategies like Slams, Bladefall Bladeblast, Mines and Toxic Rain just to name a few dominating by a large percentage in both Hardcore and Softcore. I think 3.15 is a fantastic opportunity to shake this up and give everyone a fresh set of skills to play and tinker with, this however can only happen if tuning is done correctly.

Over the many years I've played path of exile I've seen well over a hundred gems added but very few ever see any meaningful play despite some very interesting and unique mechanics and ideas. The primary reason for this is tuning, the reason toxic rain is played and scourge arrow isn't right now is all a matter of numbers and getting them right will shape what we the players will feel we have the opportunity to play.

It is my personal opinion that an emphasis should be placed on ensuring the new skill gems added are significantly powerful to the point of perhaps overcompensating to ensure that players have a reason to be excited and compelled to try these out. Over tuning something runs the risk of balance ramifications but I think having one of the primary selling points of 3.15 that being a new skill meta failing to make an impact is a much larger risk.

Over tuning new additions is a common practice in other games such as League of Legends to ensure players are excited for what comes next and I personally would like to see GGG adopt this.

A few examples of skills that really stick out to me as successful additions at the time are Winter Orb, Storm/Penance brand, Carrion Golem and Bane. While the latest additions to the game the blood skills are fine I feel small adjustments to numbers really would have pushed a few mechanics over the edge into wide spread adoption which is fantastic for a league or two even if they need to be later nerfed.

I'm incredibly excited at the prospect of having a number of new powerful skills to build around in 3.15 and I hope they are well placed to tackle the end game of path of exile.

Would you prefer skills be released over tuned with the potential to be nerfed in later leagues or tuned conservatively to ensure balance is kept in check?

It would be really nice to see which MTX you already own on the website rather than in game only

More often than not, I can only check MTX sales on the website and not hop in game to see whether I already have a certain one that is on sale.

First Time 40/40 in SSF, What A Dirty Job!

    Posted: 04 Jul 2021 11:25 AM PDT

First Time 40/40 in SSF, What A Dirty Job!

    Hi Exile,

It has been a while since I've posted something on Reddit. This will be a long post so I will start with the TLDR and go through my thoughts about that game and what I wish for 3.15.

    Total hours played: 640 Hours

    Total uniques found: ~900

Total Exalts dropped: 76 (this does not include div card rewards or Ex Shards)

    Characters leveled: 11

    Longest Playtime: 295h on Fireburst

    Highest Character: 99

    Exilence Net Worth: ~50.000c

Some of you may remember my Name or posts from Delirium league, which was my favorite league so far. I had an incredible group of friends, we rocked as an MF group and made some incredible amounts of currency, and motivated a lot of other players to do the same. I know that a few groups were found and they did well!

I love to play in a group, I love and unfortunately hate the social interactions, Most of the time, I felt exploited, as I spend way more time trading or preparing than the other team members, even with a designated trader. I was the person who checked that everyone's gear was updated, the correct skills/flasks were used, etc.

I believe that my breaking point was the moment when I told our Discbot not to corrupt the Alt Quality Determination and he did it anyway and bricked the gem...

This was the motivation to stop playing in groups and focus on SSF, which was the right decision for me.

I'm unfortunately a person who suffers from anxiety and depression. I use gaming as an outlet, to feel that I've achieved something, to be social, make friends, learn and improve some skills, which I hopefully can utilize IRL.

As some of you may know, when you have depression, you will have some good and bad phases. When Harvest hit, I was in an extreme down phase and I rage quit my own group, which I still deeply regret, however, this was the right decision for me. I took some time off and moved towards SSF, did 34 Challenges before competing in Badger's first private league. After that league, I found new motivations and I migrated my SSF chars to Trade, and made the most amazing Carrion Golem build to complete 40/40.

In Heist, I decided to play only with one friend, who introduced me to some of his old WoW mates, i asked them if they want to play MF and we had once again a blast of a time until people lost interest and I was once again alone….I completed 40/40 and quite the league.

I knew those people would not play POE in 3.13, so I was once again on the hunt for new players and I found a group that already knew each other. I said I want to play a lot, I have a lot of knowledge and I want to play for several weeks. The leader was alike, sounded good, we did some practice and started the league.

Once everything was set up, we made an unreal amount of currency. I did both Trading and Aurabotting and we made nearly a mirror a day in profit once everything was set up.

After 1 ½ weeks, people decided they were done with the league and I was absolutely furious, as this was exactly what I wanted to avoid, I wanted to have a group that played for a good amount of the league. So two weeks into Ritual I was once again alone, I was super depressed at this time, I actually stopped playing for the rest of the league. This was the first time that I've not done at least 36 challenges since Blight.

I was sure at this time, that next league, I will just play solo, I don't want to rely on other people, I want to take my own healths first and do whatever I want, play as much as I want, test as many builds as possible, so I set myself a goal of completing 36 challenges and collect at least 500 unique. Towards the start of the league, I had a real identity crisis, I was not happy with my build, at all, I hated my Scion Exsanguinate build, so I moved on. My 3rd char was a Dom Blow Glad, which was just insane, but I'm the worst melee player in POE History, so I wasn't able to kill any bosses with it! So I moved on. Fast forward to Char number 10, FireBurst! Needless to say, this is my most played character ever with nearly 300 hours played. I've killed all content deathless with this build, all invitations and I love this build. I played it in different variations, to see which version fits best to my playstyle and my needs. After reaching 99, I settled with the glass canon version to have a fast boss killer, as my plan was to play another char to spawn as many Trailmasters as possible.

I browsed around my chars and really wanted to make a COC Assassin, I had all the LL gear the only thing missing was a crit Watcher's Eye, which I still do not have… After playing it for a few days, I decided to stop playing the char, due to my own inability to play melee builds.

I continued to play my freezing pulse totem boi, but I just didn't feel it.

My plan was to play a tanky build that clears all the mapping content fast and doesn't die, so I can spawn more Trialmasters and maybe get to Lvl 100, as I had bad drop luck with the inscribed ultimatums. So I rerolled my Cyclone Glad, which I benched after 12 hours, as I felt I had no DPS, even with semi ok gear. This was the right call, I also leveled this char to 98 and my plan is to continue playing this char to get some more uniques and level 100.

When I got the last inscribed ultimatum I was so happy, as I knew, I only had one single Challenge left, this was by far the hardest challenge in POE, A Dirty Job. I called my best friend and said, "Mate, I need you right now, I want you to be there when I complete 40/40", so I shared my screen in Discord and killed the last pack in the fetish pool.

What have you learned from this league?

I've learned a lot! Take care of your own body and your mental health. Don't measure yourself against other players, just play to beat what you've done in the past. Be your best self!

Don't play with people because it makes sense if they do not appreciate you as an individual. Surround yourself with people which make you happy and support you throughout difficult situations. Leave environments that make you unhappy, set yourself some easy goals, and adjust them later, so you work towards something.

This was the longest I've played since I started playing POE, everyday I've learned something new about the game.

I now want to share some resources which helped me a lot.

https://www.craftofexile.com/en/> to find the best way of crafting items

POE Cheat Sheets > not a lot to say, an incredible resource to check certain information

POE Wiki > The Wiki helped me a lot, especially the Prophecy section for the 900 Uniques

POE Ninja > To find what other people play and get inspiration in how your build could look like.

What is my goal for 3.15?

    I have two ideas:

    1. I will continue playing SSF, get 40/40 and get some more uniques
    2. If enough people are interested, I would love to play in a group self-found environment, not in Trade, but in the Conflux private league, as scammers get kicked from the league. This would mean that you can trade within the group, but not with anyone else. I found that SSF is frustrating, you will have the situation that you want an item, but it simply doesn't drop. This would multiply the possibility for you to get the items :) If you're interested, please send me a message.

What do I hope for 3.15?

I personally love mapping leagues, I don't want to run around in a small circle for hours, I want something new. I don't want to pick up 100000 splinters one by one, I want something innovative.

Thank you Exile for reading everything until now. As a thank you, here's a picture of a cat, which adopted me. She just showed up in my apartment and doesn't leave anymore :D

Is there a video showcasing ED+Contagion sunprism ?

    Posted: 04 Jul 2021 10:51 AM PDT

Hey , wanted to buy the ED contagion sunprism package , watched all the videos on both the pack and the individual mtx but ofc as always they don't showcase the way the spell is played , so i have no way of seeing the interaction with ed + contagion chain on the entire screen

If someone got a video or stream of someone playing ed contagion with both mtx and chaining interaction would be nice :)

What does your league look like?

    Posted: 04 Jul 2021 06:20 AM PDT

What do you usually end up doing in leagues? Are you doing a little of everything like me? I usually pick a "league starter" build but end up playing it and min/maxing til the end anyway hehe.

New player, insane lag on every server, decent high end desktop with 150mb/s connection.

    Posted: 04 Jul 2021 11:59 AM PDT

1080ti/i7 8700k, 64gb ram, running off ssd, cache on m.2 with a seperate m.2 running os. I have a 150mb/s wired connection. I have no issues like this with any other game as it's massive lag spikes. I checked on the sub and on google to try and work the problem out. It seems to be a server connection issue from what I've seen, I tried all US servers, canada, EU etc. All the same issue whether the server is at 30 ping or 300.

    So far I have tried:

Rolling back game ready drivers, swapped to studio driver then back to the newest game ready one

    Changing res/texture/shadow etc. quality

    Directx to vulcan

    Disable vsync

    Disable firewall

Restart router, replug all connections from pc

    Disable multithreading

Esc all non essential processes from using the network

Constant check on network performance while running the app which showed minimal spikes on my end

Benchmarking while playing to check for dropped frames which showed minimal drops on the hardware side.

Edit: Have also tried, predictive, lock and auto settings in UI. All still have rubberbanding, predictive being the better setting but still unplayable.

Anyone have ideas for Anything else I should try or perhaps not thinking of or I missed?

I'm honestly really bummed as I was looking foward to giving the game a playthrough but it's impossible for me currently. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Does socket order matter?

    Posted: 04 Jul 2021 02:05 PM PDT

I started following a guide on the templar and it says that I have to link 3 gems together, purifying flame(Blue), arcane surge support(Blue) and added fire damage support(Red), if I have a weapon with 3 slots that are all linked but the order is Blue>Red>Blue would purifying flame still activate arcane support even if it is not directly linked to it?
